Gaming Paper is running a Kick Starter
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gamingpaper/gaming-paper-megadungeon-3 -sewers?ref=nav_search
The next stretch goal includes a huge Pathfinder Compatible Module to go along with the Mega Map they are producing
$12,000 - 9 more pages and a huge Pathfinder Compatible Mega Adventure for by Brian Cortijo to use with the Megadungeon 3 - Sewers map pack (this will be a PDF only included with any pledge of $7 or more, a hard copy included in the $40 pledge level, and a hard copy available as an add-on for only $14). This will make this an 81 pg MEGADUNGEON (9 pages x 9 pages).
Rick
A well deserved acknowledgement you were always a five star GM in my book
I look forward to sitting at a table of yours at DexCon

It sounds like your issue is with organized play in general not PFS or the Pathfinder game. I absolutely agree that some players will game the system and walk through mods. But some won't and the game needs to cater to all types. It is a social experience.
A question if someone had died would have reveled to them that you took liberties with the mod as written and negated the death?
I suggest you find a group of friends who are like minded regarding the rules and play the style you want to play with the house rules you want implemented
It is a game after all and if your not having fun what is the point
Best Travels
Boy am I glad I retired out my Living Monolith I really dislike the reworking of the same material in new books it starts to feel like MTG.
#6 I plan to play the 13th and 14th level mods Academy of Secrets and Iron Medusa again so I can get my 2nd PFS character to 15th level
He went from 12th to 13th playing Ruby Phoenix

Drogon wrote: The GenCon Specials for the last two years (counting this year) have included sub-tiers 12 and above. I believe this year's goes up to 16.
You can also play the PFRPG Module line for PFS (gaining 1 xp per module). So, for instance, your 13th level characters could play through Academy of Secrets, 14th level characters can go through Tomb of the Iron Medusa, 15th level characters can challenge themselves with The Moonscar, and 16th level characters can attempt The Witchwar Legacy.
If you do a search through the PFS boards you will find where people were able to plot out a way to get a PFS character to 20th level with the various options that are out there.
But it has been stated that writing *scenarios* for 13th+ level isn't going to happen (outside the GenCon Specials). That, of course, is subject to change, but they have not indicated any desire to actually do so.
Play the Modules they are a lot of fun and allow you to keep your PFS player going
That said I would love to see more 12-20th level Modules legal for PFS play but that may be out of Mike's hands
Michael Meunier wrote: In short, if other folks have instilled a sense of "we can skirt the rules" in their players, then you're just reaping what you've sewn. For me it boils down to I just don't care if a player has the book or not unless the FEAT, Trait, Item, ect. hinders game play. If it sounds too good to be true I will check the source if the player can produce it and allow/disallow accordingly.
No matter what the guide says I doubt I am ever going to audit players just because. This is a game and if someone wants to cheat it's on them. I am not the Paizo Police.
Same goes for the item worksheet if it is placed in front of me I will sign it
Sorry Mr Brock I really think you are going to far and PFS is quickly becoming more trouble than it is worth

Michael Brock wrote: Ok, let's see if I can clarify this entire topic for everyone and hit on all the relevant points.
A player must have a physical copy of the Additional Resource in question, a name-watermarked Paizo PDF of the book, or a printout of the relevant pages from a name-watermarked PDF, as well as provide access electronically or a physical copy of the current version of the Additional Resources list, as advised in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play.
A print out is not a photocopy. It is exactly what it advises. It is a print out from a watermarked PDF that, when printed, shows the name of the person (and their email) on the top or bottom of the page. A photocopy of a physical book that does not show a watermark does not fulfill the requirement. This includes a photocopy of a book you borrowed from a friend, checked out of a library, or any other copy you obtained and photocopied or scanned pages from.
Mike
I carry my tablet with my watermarked pdf's on it. I have never had a problem with this method as
1) I can prove it's mine
2) I can provide the exact wording of any feat, spell ect... upon request
According to the letter of your acceptable methods I could be deemed illegal because nothing is printed
Please clarify that if showing the pdf and proving the water mark matches the player is sufficient
Thanks
Rich
It is funny that all of the comments so far are from thoose with the stars. I love the idea it should encourge some people to GM more
Rich
melferburque, I have a nagaji cert if you are saying you would trade one of the kick starter mini's send me an e-mail off line at nordrin04@yahoo.com and we can see it we can make a deal.
They finally roped you in Congrats
A truely fine GM one of the best I have had a chance to play with. He is certainly the GM with the most frequent flyer miles.
He ran the 3rd part of the Eyes of Ten for us in Connecticut last year a real treat
Great Job Wes!!!
Stunned and taking appropriate penalties (Seraphimpunk the cheese monger actually calling something out as being too cheesey)

Every player should have one cleric character in their stable it is good table manners
That said every PFS player should also expect to provide for their own healing as well even if it is the form of a wand of CLW that can be handed to any of the following:
Ranger/
Paladin/
Cleric/
Oracle/
Witch/
Inquisitor/
Bard/
Sorcerer with UMD
Or at the very least carry potions

On Behalf of the NYC Pathfinder Society I'd like to congratulate Mike for reaching the Fourth Star this past weekend. He ran five 2-Rounder Pathfinder Modules for the Folks at Dex Con in a row and reached the star on Saturday
The Stars are well earned and you have our thanks You are a true
Adamantium GM
Rich
There is a second organized play option that uses the PFS rules set called Ledgend of the Shinning Jewel. It is played at Origins and some other Cons and the Campaign Guide is sold as a download here on the Paizo site
It wasn't to my taste but it might be to yours
Expecting Piazo to have multiple organized play systems is a bad idea for all stated reasons
Thanks for the post I think part of the problem is some GM's feel they have to present a challange so they get upset when a min/max master shows up to steal the scene.
It would throw off the wealth curve and be a nightmare for the paperwork at the end of the mod.
Additionally in homegames you can control that there is only one of a single item found so the decision to keep it in the party is no problem. In PFS you have idea of the item multiplier. What I mean is one item can be owned by 6 people. Should they all get the discount? if so then you are no longer dealling with the fact that you are dividing treasue found.
Phoenix's loss is New York's gain you know where we play brother
Welcome to the center of the universe
Rich
I love the changes. My characters each write thier own stories with what mod/adventures they play. Death and consumables are part of the story as well as continuing past 12th level.
The idea of the mods as danger room senarios never sat well with me.
Thanks Mike keep up the good work
(now if I can just figure out how to get Mike to create regional specials for Local Cons........)
Ooops did I type that out loud ;-0

Anyone else got any great game exp. lately? One just fun to be at?
We had a great table in NYC last week where everyone knew the creatures we were fighting in side and out but as a group refused to metagame. Our characters wasted actions and even healed the baddies because we could not make a knowledge, perception or spell craft roll above 15

Well...we don't play at a game store, since they close at 8pm and we're all working adults. They don't let us play there on Saturdays and Sundays giving priority to the CCGs. They flat told us that we don't generate enough income to give priority.
We play at a local grocery store due to late hours and easy access to food, and a 3x as large play area compared to the game store.
Maybe one day I'll win the lotto and be able to have a "real" game store in our area.
This is exactly what we do in Manhattan NYC
THANKS Mike!!! It is the little things that have a big impact
I have 2
Amir Ak-Zeal Ranger 6/Rogue6 Qadiran Two Weapon Specialist
Grog Stonehammer Ftr 5/Living Monolith 7 The big dwarf with the even bigger earthbreaker

How many killings do you have to witness, in one session, before you start to suspect that your good buddy is just a murdering scumbag?
Growing up in Brooklyn NY we had a simple rule mind you own business and only the good die young ;-)

If you are a police officer, you have a moral, ethical, and legal authority, and duty, to intercede if you witness a crime being committed.

If you want to Be LG then maybe a Neutral Organization isn't the place for you.

Todd Morgan wrote: Perhaps a GM doesn't have the right to remove a character from the campaign, but they are well within their rights to remove a player from a table for not following the rules of the campaign. The same as Don't be a Jerk, if a player is violating one of the tenants of the campaign, they can be removed. The Don't Be a Jerk rule applies to the GM as well!!
If a player is a disruption he should be removed from the table.
If a GM over steps his authority, tweaks the enemies, fudges the dice consistantly in the enemies favor, attempts to mark an 'evil act' on a cert ect..
What is the recourse for the player?
Kyle Baird wrote: EIGHT tables in the 1pm slot? Holy jebus!
Everyone please remember that we're occupying these tables for 5 hours instead of the normal ~60 minutes. Be kind and order food and a few drinks. And don't forget to tip your GM, er, I mean server.
Just as a suggestion it might be worthwhile to pass the collection basket around each slot for the servers. The 1-5 and 7-11 are primetime for any establishment and a couple of bucks from each player would go along way to being invited back next year.
My 2 cents carry on

I'm interested in what Mark might say about this. It has a real world historical precedents.
Same in theory if the bag you are holding your gold in get's destroyed most role playing games I have played in ignore this fact
I do get a handy haversack for each of my characters just in case.
I conceive that I carry letters of credit representing my wealth. Most of the physical gold sits in the Church of Abadar

Seriously for thoose who had Alex as a GM this weekend I envy you.
He is tough but fair. I miss his GMing skills since he moved to the left coast

GM the level 12 arc, and use the GM credits for the seocond PC There is not enough 12th lv players to run for. One of the other players who played with me is running the remaining eligible players in the area through the high level arc :-(
I currently have 2 characters who have attained 12 level. The first is playing the high level arc.
Eric has stated there is not another high level arc in the works
Can I use my second 12th level character to play
Pathfinder Module: Academy of Secrets and Pathfinder Module: Tomb of the Iron Medusa?
JRutterbush wrote: So I'm about to start DM'ing some official Society sessions at my local hobby shop, and I was just wondering about improvisation in games; how much leeway do I have? Obviously, I can't just start changing treasure tables and whatnot. But anybody who's ever DM'ed will know that no player worth their salt will stick to the script, and I really hate being the guy that just goes "No, it doesn't say anything about that in here, get back on the rails."
So, how much improv can I use in sessions? How closely am I required to stick to what's written? Obviously, no changing the base story or anything... but how far can I go when they do something unexpected?
The generally agreed upon leeway is with tactics the bad guys use.
That said the best games I have played in go completely off track. The good GM's get you back on track without you realizing it.
I think is a great idea but it has drawbacks
Once you hand over your name you give up control so if the writers want to make you murder victim #3 for instance it is completely in their rights to do so.
What I would like to see is an honor wall posted somewhere for retired Pathfinders once they complete their service to the Society. In the order that they finish the high level arc.

We are currently playing PFS every week out of
Cafe' Au Bon Gout
276 5th Ave (Corner of 30th Street)
New York NY
Wednesday Nights starting at 7pm
I think one beer per new faction is a fair trade ;-)

hogarth wrote: I do sympathize with Mok's criticism that some of the modules aren't very memorable because they're just a string of encounters without a memorable plot (or a plot that only the GM is privy to). But I'm not sure how adding better goodies into an unmemorable module is supposed to improve it! In a shout out to the Organizers I see this changing for the better. They are finding ways to get more of the back round of the mod to the players and the favors/items are getting to be more unique to the mods.
Will it ever be as cheezy as the some of the 2 page LG regional certs I have seen? I sure hope not!!!
Any word on the second 12 level retirement series
Our party in NY will be wrapping the Eyes of Ten in July and our 2nd Characters are rapidly approaching 12th
baron arem heshvaun silent it that all it takes to shut Noel up
Cheliax in last place priceless
Check his cheese!
What I mean by this is often a feat/spell/special ability/combo ect.. does not work exactly as the player has interpreted it to.
This is not cheating in my experience in most cases it is just an overly generous reading of the rules.
While it is not the GM's job to micro manage characters they should make sure they understand the characters especially if they are breaking every encounter.
If a build sounds too good to be true it just might be.
