Really sorry to hear that. I was struggling to maintain a presence myself so I sympathise. Thanks for taking the lead in this one guys.

Samuel tentatively moves closer to Grims voice (20 ft), silently hoping the darkness relents sooner rather than later.

Samuel remains defensive in the dark, his awareness of what is going on only further disruption by the sudden explosion of noise.

Still full defensive, not much use here.

I've heard mixed things about Twisted myself. One of my GM's ran it, and much as he enjoyed it, he said he'd struggled to get the players involved. I think alot of the onus for it falls on the group.

Unable to pursue and not quite sure what is happeneing, Samuel adopts a defensive stance. (Full Defense)

"Where are they Grim? What's happening?"

Samuel volunteers for watches and trudges towards Caina with the rest of the team.

Samuel continues swinging at the creature, grateful of his allies support.

As the creature bares down on Samuel, the Eagle Knight continues swinging his trusty longsword with practiced skill in the hopes of endind the attack.

Suddenly having your role be to be at the front and hit or be hit is a blessing.

Samuel draws his shield and moves forward drawing his sword, hoping to draw the creatures ire should it attack.

Samuel looks confused for a couple of moments, not the most aware of individuals.

"Right, come on my friends. We should continue on to Erebus."

Samuel grabs his pack and shield and throws them over his shoulder, gently encouraging the others to start moving.

As above, hope she gets better soon.

"We should gather these crystals before we leave, but we have the hold the people who might still be in danger as a higher priority. I suggest we continue to the next mine as a point of urgency."

As the Eagle Knight casually swats away another hungry insect he finds himself momentarily yearning to be back in Thornkeep.

Samuel looks uncomfortably at the gathered rainwater.

"I'm afraid swimming doesn't usually fall to Golden Legionnaires, we leave the seacraft to the Falcons. But I will happily stand guard should one of you wish to try your hand."

The Andoran looks concerned at the prospect of someone heading in, but says nothing further.

Look's like I missed all the excitement, including a critical hit on my behalf. Thanks for that GM ;). Apologises for my absence, I rarely get on around the weekend (especially this weekend as I was off playing Eyes of the Ten IRL for most of it) and I was heaving at work yesterday.

Samuel regains his composure as the melee comes to an end, quickly regaining his breath and batting off a few more mosquitos.

"Looks like small weaponry. Strange."

The soldier helps gather up the spoils available before prepping to move on again.

Samuel catches up and listens intently to the strangers, try to make out which he is saying through the mispronounced language. Growing more frustated with the local insects, he seems keen to get a move on.

"I suggest we head to the west, the quicker the better."

Samuel continues a tactical advance, keen to support his allies but careful not to leave himself vulnerable for any kind of unsprung trap.

Double move forward.

Samuel equally gives chase, clearly slowed by his armor and selection of weapons.

"Get after him Grim, but be safe about it!"

Samuel marches back alongside his allies, periodically slappy the odd mosquito that finds a crack of flesh through his armor.

"How can so many people have disappeared, yet left so little evidence?"

Samuel surveys the carcasses with a look of disgust on his face.

"I have no issue sleeping rough. I have a bedroom and blanket, we could take refuge at the entrance of the next mine for the night. I suggest we press on there?"

Yeah I'm here, Samuel is a combat character with alittle bit of social support. He's not great at the wandering and site investigation, so I'm just watching you guys do it, rather than posting 'Samuel follows' or 'Samuel nods' :p

Samuel gracefully thanks his allies for their healing and the breakfast, tactically considering their options.

"As far as I see it, our best bet is to start at the closer sites in the hopes that they yield further clues or leads in learning what has happened here. There is no benefit in us travelling further afield only to have to back track. Do you all agree?"

Back from the holidays so back to business as usual.

Haha, sorry I was quiet. I was away for 5 days for Christmas. I'll probably be abit on and off till after New year.

Can we head down the tunnel in the garden? If so Samuel will recommend that.

Hearing the noise outside Samual moves up to the doorway, noticing Delbina recoiling as her essence is drained the Eagle Knight quickly moves to interpose himself between the woman and the creature, sword it hand.

"Delbina, get to safety. I'll hold this creature off."

Double move action to get into combat, I'll draw my sword as part of it.

Samuel is a first through the door kinda guy, so he will be alongside Grim and Cal inside, watching out for his friends safety.

Samuel seems perplexed at the disappearance of the doctor, but takes it in his stride, never having had the best understand of those who practice the arcane arts.

"The mines seems like a reasonable suggestion. I would suggest we excercise extreme caution mind, if this place is dangerous, that can only be worse."

I don't mind picking that up.

Has our prior GM just vanished, or just from this game?

Yeah, you can drop a player to become the GM. I've seen it happen before.

Samuel positions himself next to the woman, putting his protective instincts to work should anything put her in harms way.

"I have a bad feeling about this."

Samuel remains at the external door, cautiously watching for anyone or anything suspicious moving outside.

I can check Roll20 at work, but I can't move on it. Please can you double move Samuel towards the creature.

Seeing the creature bounding towards them, Samuel tactically advances to engage the beast.

"Save your energy for now doctor, we might have use of such talents later in the day. We've still plenty of avenues of investigation to follow up on, I suggest for now we continue on with them."

Samuel moves away from the door and gestures at the other buildings.

Samuel nods in agreement and approaches again.

"Keep your eyes open Grim, we don't want any more nasty surprises."

Noticing Grim disappear Samuel also retreats out of the cloud, hoping it will soon disappear.

Samuel quickly holds his breath as the cloud envelops him, holding down his morning rations with ease.

Undeterred by the knowledge of a magical presence, Samuel pushes forward to the building, testing the door to see if it's unlocked.

I can't access Roll20 at work, but I don't mind using it if people don't mind moving me when I'm at work? I can access it okay at home in the evening mind.

"Do we make them aware of our presence incase there is anyone hiding, or stay silent incase there are enemies in waiting?"

Samuel draws his magical longsword, scanning for movement.

"Perhaps we should start with the nearest buildings first?"

Unless anyone objects, the Eagle Knight begins to move towards the nearest of the houses.

I don't have all my documentation with me at the moment, so I will note those down later and pop it in the discussion thread.

Samuel hoists his pack across his back, and straps his faithful shield to his arm before they draw to close.

"We can never be too careful, Thornkeep taught me that much. Stick close."

True to form, the Eagle Knight takes point as they march towards the penal colony.

Samuel seems to take stock of the situation.

"I think I'll need some rations too, and perhaps some camping equipment so that we can set up a camp site?"

Normally a confidant individual, Samuel visibly falters under Dralneen's gaze, clearly uncomfortable with her extracurricular interests. The soldier quickly tries to regain his composure and offers his superior an informal salute as he steps forward.

"I'm not familiar with Deepmar, but given the usefulness of these crystals, do we have any reason to suspect anyone for the sudden silence of the colony? Have your agents or contacts reported any outside agencies expressing an interest in the location?"

Following his query, the lance corporal falls back in with the other Pathfinders.

Lance Corporal Deland marches into the room, noticably aggitated at his own lateness. The Eagle Knight smiles knowingly and happily at the sight of his fellow adventurers and friends, and extends a hand to their new associate.

"Apologises for my lateness doctor, it isn't something I make a habit of. Unfortunately events beyond my control delayed my arrival. I'm lance corporal Samuel Deland of the Golden Legionnaires. It's a pleasure to meet you."

The soldier appears as friendly as always, and while he has recovered from much of what happened to him in Thornkeep, the man has been literally aged a decade by the experience.

Much like Marcel, Samuel has added an adamantine weapon to his belt, as well as repairing and replacing some of his damaged attire.

"I wonder what nature of assignment we've been summoned for this time?"

Hey guys, just checking in. Apologises for being absent a few days. I was running my convention in Scotland this weekend so it's been abit of a crazy one!

Looking forward to this. I'll tally my gold and see if I can grab an adamantine weapon too.

Hey folks, do you want to dot if you'd like to go forward with these characters together? We can see how many of us are up for it and then if Revvy isn't up for it we could look for a game and/or GM?

If we wanted to continue with modules, it looks like Cult of the Edon Destroyers would be our best bet, as it's for lvls 7-9.
