Alphonse calls upon God to bless his dice, that he may roll at least the average number on his primary attack.

Alphonse, frustrated, tries to get Foereaper to bite into this creature's stony hide once more.

[dice=Attack]1d20+13
[dice=Damage]2d4+17

And lo his prayer is answered, by a roll which is average plus 1, as God is a benevolent patron.

[dice=Attack 2]1d20+8
[dice=Damage]2d4+17

Reduced to a plant by witchcraft and already weakened from previous injuries, the roper succumbs to Alphonse's desperate onslaught and is reaped by Foereaver with a pitiful weeze!

The roper falls!

Raging against its vegetative death by witchcraft, the roper engages in a fierce biting match with the Dire Bear Johann... 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38 dealing 4d8 + 18 ⇒ (2, 7, 7, 4) + 18 = 38 damage to the shapeshifting Black Forester!

Using my Vambraces of Mercy to mimic the Restorative Mercy, curing 1d4 Str damage.

Don't think I'm damaged so just rolling the ability damage restore.

Alphonse' strength largely returns, and he lashes out with Foereaper twice more!

Oozing green ichor from its wounds, the roper quakes at the holy knight's narrow misses with Foereaper!

The witch's ray strikes... Fort save 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 resists......but seems to have little effect on the roper...

Slashing at a vulnerable part of the beast's anatomy with her lightning katana, Lady Ihrin deals a critical wound that crackles with electricity!

AWOOOOOOOOCHEEEEE!!! howls the roper, in serious pain!

My strength is currently a 3!!
Fort DC24

Fortitude save vs green caress 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 fails! The roper begins to slowly turn into a plant, taking 1d4 ⇒ 4 ability damage to all of its ability scores!

HAAARRROOOO??? The thing moans in confusion as its body begins to transform into plant matter!

The Ogon Fox wrote:

Now down to an effective strength of 4. Total of 10 Str damage = -5 to my damage rolls.

The Fox targets the roper's strands now, rather than the beast itself.
I'm going to roll the attacks for my flurry of blows. I don't know if I can reach the strands attached to anyone else or not. The most I can move is a 5 foot step between attacks. If I can't reach anyone else, then as soon as the one on me is cut I would begin targeting the roper. I'm attacking with Barakuda because I figure I need slashing damage, not bludgeoning, to cut the strands.

Ogon Fox cuts himself free with Barakuda on his second swing, then cuts the strand holding Mwikali with this third swing, freeing them both, and depriving the roper of two of its ropy limbs!

yyYYEEeeOoOOOhhgg!!! howls the toothy maw, mimicking the death scream of some unlucky soul...

Foereaper's brightly glowing crescent blade is turned aside by the roper's stony carapace!

ROUND 2:

The roper continues its eerie, human-sounding shrieks as it again lashes out with its six ropy tendrils at the adventurers!

Tendril at Dire Bear Johann, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 ranged touch strikes, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 6 Strength damage!
Johann is struck by the ropy strand that lashes out at him, and feels some of his vigor drained from his mighty limbs!

Tendril on Ogon Fox maintains its hold and drains another 1d6 ⇒ 4 Strength damage!
The strand stuck to Ogon Fox drains some more of the power from his limbs!

Tendril that lost hold of the now gaseous Lord Perpireen lashes toward Johann now, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 ranged touch misses!
Dire Bear Johann manages to dodge the ropy strand that briefly held the now gaseous Lord Perpireen...

Tendril at Lady Dracul, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 ranged touch hits, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 1 Strength damage and holding fast to Lady Ihrin's waist!
The strand lashes around Lady Dracula's waist and drains away some of her strength!

Tendril stuck to Mwikali pulls her 10 feet closer (she is now 10 feet from the roper), dealing another 1d6 ⇒ 6 Stength damage
The strand wrapped around Mwikali's slim waist drains some more of her strength! It pulls her closer; she is now 10 feet from it!

Tendril stuck to Sir Alphonse maintains its hold, dealing another 1d6 ⇒ 5 Strength damage!
The strand that sticks fast to Sir Alphonse's breastplate drains a little more of his vigor, but he is now face to face with the monster!

The Ogon Fox wrote:

6 Strength damage reduces my 14 Strength to an effective 8. That reduces the damage on each of my unarmed strikes by 3, but my attack mod is the same because I use Weapon Finesse.

"Unhhh," the Fox groans as his strength is sapped greatly. But it does nothing to slow him down, and he dashes in after Johann to also strike the roper.

Also starting Jabbing Style as a swift action.

Is my 50ft movement speed enough to get me around behind the roper so I'm flanking with Johann? If not, subtract 2 from this attack roll.

[dice=Unarmed Strike]1d20+17+2

The roper roars and twitches as Mwikali sends a jolt of lightning up the strand looped about her waist to shock the monster's cone-shaped trunk!

GRRRARRRR!!!

The roper emits eerie, human-sounding shrieks as it launches six ropy tendrils toward the adventurers!

Tendril at Cobra Johann, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 ranged touch misses!
Johann dodges the ropy strand that lashes out at him...

Tendril at Ogon Fox, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 ranged touch hits, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 6 Strength damage and adhering to Fox's chest!
Ogon Fox is struck by a strand, which sticks fast to his chest and seems to drain some of the power from his limbs! He is dragged 10 feet closer to the roper, so he is now 20 ft away from it!

Tendril at Lord Perpireen, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 ranged touch hits, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 3 Strength damage and adhering to Lord Perpireen's legs!
Lord Perpireen Is struck by one of the strands, which wraps around his little legs and holds him fast, draining some strength from the fey lord! He is pulled 10 feet closer to the roper, and is now 20 ft away from it!

Tendril at Lady Dracul, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 ranged touch misses!
Lady Ihrin dodges a strand fired at her!

Tendril at Mwikali, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 ranged touch hits, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 3 Strength damage and adhering to Mwikali's slender waist!
A strand wraps around Mwikali's slim waist and drains some of her strength! It stages her closer; she is now 20 feet from it!

Tendril at Sir Alphonse, 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 ranged touch hits, dealing 1d6 ⇒ 1 Strength damage and adhering to the paladin's chest!
Sir Alphonse is struck by a strand that sticks fast to his breastplate and drains a little of his vigor, while pulling him 10 feet closer, so he now stands 20 feet from the roper!

Ihrin identifies this subterranean predator as a roper, a deadly ambush predator with adhesive strands used to reach out impressive distances to entangle prey and draw it toward its toothy maw.

A huge eye, with red iris on yellow eyeball, splits open on the trunk of the tree-like monolith, and below the terrible eye, a gaping mouth filled with serrated teeth gapes, drooling, as it mimics the tortured screams of anguish uttered by its past victims in their final moments...

The ropey tendrils begin to writhe and lash about!

The ropers wave their ropy strands and grin toothy grins....

Several of the conical, rocky-looking, one-eyes monsters like the one you fought in the Hall of Trials can be seen among the spectators, perhaps nine total, scattered throughout the crowd....

Koran's flurry of blows against the roper with Mjolnir shatters the monster's stony hide, splattering its red entrails all over the northeast corner of the chamber....

AAAAAK!!....*gurgle*

Correction: after the roper's energy resistances and immunities, it takes 1 point of acid damage, so 118 total damage on the roper from MJ's attacks....

AAAAAARRRRRGHH!!! This one hits hard! I must gobble him up first!

Sig has seen something of their like before....

The creeping Chaos of the outer worlds finds it's way into all sorts of corners and back alleys....

The column-like one with strands of thick, ropy substance forming limbs of a kind leers at the party with its single, great bloodshot eye, maw hanging open to showcase rows of shark-like teeth glistening with drool....

Sig seems to have a subconscious, almost genetically encoded suspicion that those strands can grow long to catch prey, and that they sap the vital strength from their struggling victims through those tendrils....

Eh? Visitors? Come to try their mettle in Loki's Hall, eh? Well, let's see how they look....
