Moving to get a clean line of fire Rivet sends one arrow flying at the snow-monster's face to distract it.

If it has Lwazi grabbed hopefully the entangle will drop its CMB/CMD to help his escape. A crit has no effect here sadly.

Roy, Gin and Luca. They need to make DC 20 Fort saves or be pulled in, then a couple of Ref saves (DC 15 I think) if they fail those to avoid being stung and to stay up. Then they need to do their actions of course.

I'm hoping these rolls are unnecessary due to Rivet not being in melee, but in case it is necessary here's the saves vs being pulled in. Since he's on the ground already there's no roll to remain standing.

Rivet shrieks and projects a stream of energy from his hand at the ground some distance off, which then contracts to pull him 30' away. He staggers to his feet a moment later.
Ectoplasmic grapnel is the power. This movement provokes an AoO.

Wriggling away a short distance in the snow Rivet gets out his small crystal bow and spends a moment charging it with a faint red glow, then loosing an arrow aimed high on the leg Lwazi attacked.

I think snow like this should provide concealment for a small prone creature. I'm staying prone and not casting a spell so no concentration checks or reflex save should be required. Short bows are OK in such situations unlike longbows.

"I hope this beast would rather save what remains of its tail rather than use it as a weapon again" he mutters.

"We can talk about this..." Rivet calls out but without much hope.

Moments later he loses his balance on the shimmying snow. "I see." he comments with icy calm as he sends fire at the beast. So much fire.

You mentioned that different parts of the beast could be targeted? If energy missile, which usually can target up to 5 creatures in a 15' diameter circle/sphere (3x3 square on most maps) can target different parts I will, starting with the tail, the body and the back legs and maybe one of the center pair of legs. If not then just the tail gets toasted.

Staggering to his feet a moment later he surveys the damage.

Move action to stand. It does provoke an AoO, Rivet has no special ability to avoid them, but it's after the damage if that makes any difference.

"Should we not attempt words first?" calls back Rivet, as he charges his own with magic.

Basically a tongues spell, but it doesn't work on anything immune to mind-affecting. Also it doesn't work on creatures without a language like animals of course.

"One day. Hmm. I can make some use of that." Rivet wanders over to Luca and examines his mantle carefully before deftly plucking two feathers from just beneath it.

Some time later, after any recriminations, Rivet spends hours carefully folding and infusing the feathers together.

There's minor metamorphosis and animal affinity Rivet can use but only on himself, and only for 8 minutes at a time. I'm happy to wait for Luca's assistance but can't really prepare anything to help.

Edit: well, there's making magic items. If I could pluck a couple of feathers off the nearest tengu I might be able to make a campsite feather token, or perhaps I could make a campfire bead (no feathers required).

"Nothing I might do with the powers at my disposal in this matter would last longer than a few minutes, or affect others than myself. Unless perhaps this weather is summoned, in which case it could be dispelled. But there are far too many other possible causes to rely on that."

The boggle does study the weather carefully in the hope of identifying some sign that the snow is the result of a spell.

Mostly done. I think I need to correct a couple of earlier errors. Also how are we doing HP for this game again, is it half max, or rolled, or what?

If you're looking for feat ideas Luca then you might consider improved unarmed strike as the feat tax needed to get a style feat later, or dodge as the prereq to wind stance, or a tengu racial feat like tengu wings or blood beak.

Rivet makes sure the flower is planted, watered, and (for now) concealed. That will of course change as it grows larger. "A most curious creature, this Valanna. One rather hopes she does prove an ally, or at least informative." He shakes his head and heads to the cave entrance to meditate there.

The swift combat where he felt no personal threat has left the boggle in a thoughtful mood. "Either our presence is drawing enemies here in which case we should move and Valanna might be best to hide, or they were coming here in any case and we should remain some time to fight them off. Can we tell the difference?"

Given a moment to do so he reattunes his pattern disruption to the chaotic outsiders which must surely be most common given the location of this island.

Open air means outside our base unless we build a solid greenhouse and probably a wall around it. Until and unless we get spells that'd help build that I can't see how she'd last a day or so if we were out when she was attacked. Still, it's better than a ruined maze in a place that a hostile vampire dragon knows about I guess.

Rivet sniffs. Someone who can't be straightforward when her life depends on it is not someone he approves of. He makes notes about the maze and dragon in his journal but "Rivet" is all he says.

Yamyra was always saying things like that. What was a safe answer... Saying nothing wasn't safe. "The dark colour avoids that, Luca. It, ah, suits you." Moving on quickly, "If the lady of the maze is rooted in place here then that change at least must have occurred. Have you seen any forces which might control this island in your time here, Lady?"

With careful aim Rivet sends a blast of disruptive energy into the rotting and now injured dragon.

OK, a full attack from a raging, flanking Lwazi will always do more, but I'm still not unhappy with this.

Just in time Rivet realises with a shock that the rotting dragon is not in fact dead. "It lives? How can this be?" he asks of the world before attuning his pattern to the majesty and grandeur of dragons instead.

Concentrating on the nature of this beast Rivet attunes his pattern to the dark energies of undeath.

Necessary if I'm not to deal half damage to it with disrupt pattern, and against most dragon-like creatures the touch attack on that will be necessary for him to have much chance of hitting.

"Ah! The smell of that breath!" Rivet covers his mouth and scuttles away. He seems undamaged by the assault however.

Damage soaked by vigor. Taking the withdraw action. Though he's late in the round, his presence or absence won't change much - with a bow out he doesn't threaten for flanking.

If the batagon has reach then he'll try acrobatics to avoid an AoO from it when moving out of the second square threatened. Withdraw only protects you from leaving the first.

Definitely time for initiative IMO. I don't really rate Rivet's chances of talking down the dragon-bat (batagon? dragbat?).

"Very good. I do appreciate it when enemies choose to cluster together like this." Rivet holds forth his cognizance crystal and calls forth the remaining power in it, turning it into beams of fire which strike the shadows.

Energy missile (fire). 5 shadows take the above damage, halved again to 7 if they make a DC 18 Reflex save. He also calls up his altered defence to improve AC.
