Thanks for the opportunity. Have fun!

Good luck everyone! Thanks again for the opportunity.

With Riren's history with Lamm, it would be very possible he knew the group, or at least a subset from childhood. Since he escaped when he was younger, it might have been years since he has seen the group.

I also like to think that what started your adventure, I believe you all getting cards, also happened to him, but he was just behind all of you enough to miss it.

I also think, with him at the temple, he could have run into some of you, though I tend to like him knowing you in his past.

As for getting along with the current Characters. I believe so, I like to think of him as pretty open to different types of personalities. As long as no down right evil is happening, he is there to help. He also knows he needs other people to really do what he wants, which is to help people and his home.

So it might take me, as a player, to get into the right voice, I think the character would slot in well.

I would like to submit Riren to the mix.

This character actually got to start a Curse of the Crimson Throne game: Link

The game died off before we got too far. We never got past level 1. In fact I am pretty sure you are slightly farther, as we just got past Lamm. I was super bummed out when the game ended. I had put a lot of thought into the character and was trying my best to RP well.

I did make a change to this character for the submission. It was a Warpriest, and now it is a full casting support Cleric. In the meantime I have started a Warpriest in my Wife's (in person) Mummy's Mask, so I didn't want to double up at all. I also am curious to go full caster. I was really wanting to play this AP, figured I should give it a shot to jump in on this one.

I also have a higher Diplomacy Skill, as well as Sense Motive. So that might help out the group, as mentioned by Aleziella Libuyaza.

I decided to keep the Champaign Trait, as it fit the character well. I don't think it will really mess with the story at all. I could have just been late or behind the current group. Whatever makes sense to you and the game.

Character Background:

I am not sure who my parents are. All I remember is the hard life under Lamm's brutal thumb. I can't even recount all the things he made me do, or see, before I turned 7. My strength gave me an excuse to avoid some of the dirtier tasks he gave the other kids, but I would be sent in to move boxes. I was never fully sure what was in those boxes, but I always assumed it was bad.
One day while being sent to a warehouse full of boxes. I found a few dead bodies. They must have been in the way. On one of their bodies, I found a small wooden holy symbol. It strangly matched a birthmark have had on my shoulder. I pocketed it, and finished my job. I only later learned it was a symbol of Saremrae/ I have no idea how I was able to keep it, or keep it hidden. Looking back on it now, I have to think The Everlight must have kept it hidden from prying eyes.

I would obsess over it, eventually learning it's significants. I started being able to get out and visit a local Sarenrae temple. I started to go to services whever I could get free. I continued this for a year, until I was found out. Gaedren saw me ducking out of the building, holding my symbol a bit too exposed. He beat the lever living light out of me. I just gripped the symbol as hard as I could, hoping the healing light of the Dawnflower would hold me through the pain. I was able to get away. I have no idea how I did. I ran to the temple. Luckely Lessiyn took me in.

I lived the rest of my childhood at the Temple. I started to help out wherever I could. I would preform the rituals and even was able to practice with the Scimitar with the other clerics. Though I never could grib it well.

I decided no one should have to live through what I did. I decided to dedicate my life to Sarenrae and the removal of evil, in all it's forms. I knew I could not do it myself, but with the power of the Dawnflower behind me I would hopefully find people with similar convictions. Or at least a group to work with.

Let me know if there are any issues with the character or you have any questions.

Good luck everyone. Thanks GM, for the opportunity to give this one a go again.!

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Ah.. thats rough.. Maybe he just had to drop this off his todo list. Little bit of a disappointment though. It's been hard finding games to play in.

If you are out there, I wish you the best of luck :)

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Yes, Darkmeer, take care of yourself. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in and let you know we are still enjoying ourselves here.

Take care! And happy new year.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Happy Holidays everyone.

Its been awhile since there has been a post in the game play. Life has been crazy for me, but I just wanted to check in and see if this is still goin going on. I know Darkmeer was going through stuff, but I just want to express I am still interested in continuing.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Standing behind Grau, also waiting for him to step up.

"If you are to make a difference, now is your time. You have my sword if you need. Tawni is right, for now. Tell us how we can be of most use to this city"

Blade out, looking for immediate threats to innocents around us, or our group.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Riren sits back, somewhat disgusted at this whole state. Dueling for sport like this. Then again, it did lead to him getting back on track..

Looking over to Maria. Pretty sure she can take care of herself. Stepping between her and someone might just cause more trouble.

Riren stands straight. Hoping to avoid talking and ruining the path everyone seems to be following.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Well best of luck with the new job too!

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Oh man.. That is rough. I wish you the best of luck. None of that is enjoyable..

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Riren stands back, watching the somewhat verbal jabs.

A little bit of a cop-out post. I will get back into the swing of things soon. Figure Riren is going through a slight depressive issue right now. ha.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Sorry to see you go.

Good luck with everything!

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Walking behind the others, scanning the room looking for weapons. Both on the men and the dancers. Having heard of dancing fighting styles among the Varisians, he is wary of everyone.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Pretty sure I am going to stand out in a place like this Riren pulls in his sword closer.

Looking up toward all the imps, "That can't be good"

"Dancing girls? Oh" Riren's cheeks visibly turn red. "Well, um, I will follow you in. Just let me know if I should act, I don't want to jump.. the gun"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Following Juliet, "I agree. It seems the best course of action to help the most amount of people possible."

Knowing so little about the ruling class of the city, Riren has to trust the people around him who speak on the topic. I might want to read up on this city's history and its rulers when I have some downtime

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Sorry I have had a crazy few days

Showing a bit of shock at the mention of the green hatted man, "I do believe we have run into this green hatted man. It sure sounds like the town has fallen into a dark light, recently."

Looking to rest for a bit of guidance in the matter, "Not sure I can speak for everyone, but I am willing to help. You mentioned quite a few things that need fixing, but this Sergeant, Grau, do you have any specific leads as which of those areas of darkness he has fallen into? He sounds like he would provide a stabilizing force in the city"

Riren looks a bit over his element. [i]Days ago I was just training in the temple. Never even really seeing any real battle. Everything is fine in stories or practice ground, but when real darkness falls on a city like this. I just hope my blade, and her light, are enough to hold me up"[/b] Riren, suddenly aware of his words tries to slink back into the group. Strange to see a large man like his shy away.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Leanding down to the small creature, "Ah, nice to meet you Majenko, my name is Riren. How did you come to be in this situation?". Riren knows it is likely communicating into his mind. Not really worrying what people think of him talking to himself.

Seeing Dennvynn offer it his shoulder, "You are also welcome to mine. Your wight should not effect me. I would be happy to carry your weight while your wings heal"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Leaning down, verifying that the pseudodragon is stable from his healing, Riren stands and draws his weapon. Choosing not to speak, just blessing his blade in front of these small little devils.

Move action: Draw, Standard: Blessing Holy Strike

Riren's blade glows a yellow-gold light.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

So sorry to hear it. I wish you, and your family, the best.

Take care of yourself too.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Are we aware this town is commonly got imps and Psudodragons? I know that from my own lore info. But our characters would have seen that around, right?

Looking down at the creature Riren runs forward, focusing the energy in his hand, in a way he has yet to do yet, pulling the power of the Dawnflower into his hand and laying it down onto the small creature.

May this heal your wounds. Help you fly again

Uses Fervor

Fervor Healing: 1d6 ⇒ 4

1 person marked this as a favorite.
(Abandoned Game/Character)

"Yes, something is going on. Maybe instead of trying to fix the symptoms we need to fix the causes! Where to start?"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

"Oh... ok. Guess not everyone deserves the direct attention. I tried."

Turning to the dwarf, "I try to offer healing for everyone, but really can't get to everyone. Help individuals or help the masses. Never sure what Sarenrae would prefer.."

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Watching this mad man charge Maria. By the time Riren steps in to try to separate him he is already releasing her.

"Maria, are you ok?" he then turns to the man, "Excuse me. What makes you say this? What great Worm?"

Trying to stand between them as much as possible. Riren has to remind himself that healing is not always about blood and wounds, but can also be damage to the brain, or just people who need help. This man might just need help.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

After a long day of working on the fire, feeling accomplished. Helping people.

As things settle Riren approaches Costa Serimus, "Excuse me, I think during the fire I lost my copy of Sarenrae's texts. Do you happen to have a copy of The Birth of Light and Truth? I could ask the temple, but I do not wish to take those copies from possible petitioners. I would be willing to pay, especially if you have a small copy I can carry around with me."

--Later--
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Looking over the city, feeling the calm of sunset. Riren looks to the group, "I think I will continue to the guard station. What are all of your plans?"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

With absolutely no rush, I have a rule question. It wont matter till level 3 at the earliest. I just wanted to write it down while I am thinking about it.

I have been reading about the Evangelist Prestige class. I have never taken a Prestige class before, but this one looks really cool, and would fit Riren pretty well. I would not be able to take it till level 5 at the earliest, but one of the requirements is a feat that I would want to take at level 3.

The feat is Deific Obedience. Basically a ritual I perform every day and gain access to Sarenrae specific stuff over time.

Now to fit with the rules you put out for the game. You have said Core+ Inner Sea world guide + 2 more books.

I have chosen Advanced Class Guide for my glass. But I never picked a second book. Both this feat and the Prestige are in Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Gods. This book is not in your list of approved books.

This book really only has a few things in it. Its not filled with options/feats/spells/etc. So it won't unlock a ton of things. Its mostly info about each god, with breakdown of Evangelist for each god. I 100% understand if this is pushing your game rules. Just figured I would ask! It would take my 2nd "other" rule book, for Riren.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

So sorry to hear it too. Again, Family first. Take care!

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Pointing at a group of unorganized people, "You! Here, focus your effort. Fire can actually be predictable, if you know what to look for."

Deplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Success

Getting the group to organize on a section, Best to focus on at least a portion. Others have other areas.

Fortitude DC 12: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Non Lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Fortitude DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Fortitude DC 15: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Non Lethal: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Coughing through the smoke. Fire being something often in his own control, blessing of the sun, this is sure wiley and the smoke is hard to get away from.

Yelling out, "Are there any other injured people out there? I can offer support!"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Seeing the crash, and the people attempting to stop the fire, Riren runs out to the fire itself. Joining any of the citizen's who are trying to help. Trying to help put the fire out, or at least keeping it from spreading.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Ok. I started up a Loot sheet for the game. There is a link under my name.

I put in all the items mentioned we took.

Questions:
1. We gave away the dagger, correct?

2. There was a +1 set of armor? We kept that, right? What type of armor was it again. Was having a hard time finding it.

3. For GM: Which of these items listed have any magical aura? Should we do spellcraft? Or since PbP is weird can you basically give us "take 20" for anyone with high spellcraft given enough time?

4. I don't have very good Appraise. Do you want us to roll for each item?

5. Can we reroll the Local/history for the Dagger? And the Nobility (or local but harder DC) for the brooch?

(Abandoned Game/Character)

I know we got the +1 dagger and +1 armor. Then a big list of items. But we never appraised all the items. Or figured out what the wand does, I don't think

"Best place to start, it sounds like. We also have all of Lamm's items. We should find out if any of it belongs to local families, or has other uses. It seems to me that lot of it would be worth some value."

I assume we detected magic and put all of those aside. Also the dagger that looks like a key, is likely something we need to keep. Should I create a document to start tracking?

(Abandoned Game/Character)

The half+1 HP for a d6 is 4. So 4+Con+Fav, should be 7 for you. Since you have +2 Con. So you should get 1 more HP.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

AH yes.. That makes sense then. My math (if I included toughness) would have put me at 23 HP, but I have 22 on my profile.

I am using Hero lab for my character. But my ipad with my sheet is in the room with my sleeping child. SO I was going off memory :)

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Staying quiet during all of the readings. Not quite knowing what to think of each in turn.

During his own reading, there is a brief tensing when she uses the term "Poor Riren", but then softens as she continues.

When everyone is done he chimes in, "Yes. We should talk to the guard. I am sure they have enough dealing with everything. I am sure they would be happy with people who are willing to help. At least some of us."

(Abandoned Game/Character)

I already updated my profile. The specific skills I used are now somewhat hard to tell. But here is the rest.

Warpriest 2

HP: +9 (5+2+1 Toughness +1 fav class)
BAB: +1
Fortitude: +1
Will: +1

Story feat: Power Attack
Abilities: Fervor 3 times/day

Prepared Spells:
0: Mending
1: Shield of Faith

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Awesome! Assumeing, like Tawni said, I need to meet the prerequisites for the feat. I am going to go with Power Attack. Seems to fit.

This level I also get access to Fervor, so expect some fun uses of that. I will update my sheet.

Also, good luck with everything. Take whatever time you need for family!

(Abandoned Game/Character)

"I too would be interested in a reading."

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Is this the chance to be given a new direction?

Looking around, feeling the pressure of speaking first. Well he already did.

"I can't speak for the rest, but I can't say no to a righteous path laid in front of me. You have my blade"

Looking around the group, "We may all have very different reasons," Riren's eyes linger on Maria, "but a chance like this can better this whole city."

Suddenly aware the is speaking more than normal, he steps back and leans against a wall again.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Watching Dennvynn arrange the cards, Who am I to judge his actions. I have seem some strange things. Just because I know now the source of power, does not make it bad.... Idle thoughts of a sheltered clergyman.

When they flash, Riren jumps back. In a bit of shock when the voice is heard.

"It was our pleasure" he stuttered out. That's the best you can come up with?

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Looking to Ernhild, "I do not believe she is angry with me, I do believe one of my main reasons for training how I did was to finish what we just did. Now that it is done, I have to look within myself, and to Sarenrae for the next step to take. There is more evil in this world, other than Lamm."

Gripping the hilt of his blade, "I have had the same mission since I was a child. Didn't realize that lifting that burden would actually bring distress. I got used to the weight on my shoulders."

Looking down on the other cleric, "What of your god. What is asked of you?"

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Watching the exchange of the boy, not knowing if he should chime in, offer assistance. [i]No, the boy will find his own way. The freedom to choose, and to hopefully choose right. There is enough happening in this city for him to get involved in. May the light of the Dawn shine his path.[/b]

Not even sure if a simple prayer will really do much. Riren shakes his head out of whatever trance he was in.

"Well, shall we be off today? Not sure what to do after last night. My training, my life.. Almost feels lost" Riren rambles on for a second. Letting his voice fall.

"Anyway, let us go to the woman's house."

Burning last spell slot from last night to heal up
Spontaneous Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

(Abandoned Game/Character)

After a long night, keeping himself as on guard as he can, while still getting the rest his body needed. Riren dreams of a safer place, with less evil in it.

Waking up to the sun raising, At least the sun is here to guide us in this new day

Watching Grigori talk to Tawni about being trained, Riren waits for the answer. Knowing he too could train this child, though his mission is always at hand. Will need to pray on it, and see if it is in the plan.

"Well, we are off to Zellara's... Need to learn more about what last night meant.."

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Yes, Take care man.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

"Agreed. This is definitely unsanitary. Plus we can clean this area and keep it guarded. Who checked on the children, are they ok?"

Riren would work on cleaning up while also trying to stay alert to any more intrusions.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Please, take your time. Good luck with everything.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Riren looks around the room, at the various bodies.
Perceptoin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

His body shrinking down in size as he looks.
"That was an interesting sensation. Have to say, in battle I could get used to that."

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Riren stands back, trying to place himself in front of all innocents. Looking to the ones left behind, "Leave now. My friends here might not be able to resist an easy kill. Leave and try to live a better life!"

Riren readies an action to hit the spell caster (with reach because of size) if he casts any spell

---Readied Attack---
Scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Are they leaving? I got the impression they were going to leave now..

(Abandoned Game/Character)

Migraines are not fun. I have only had a few, but they are no fun. Feel better! Don't force yourself to look at the screen if it will hurt or delay you feeling better.

(Abandoned Game/Character)

As the thugs seem to ignore him, the strange energy absorbs into his body, as his body and weapon increase in size, filling the room.

"Through Sarenrae's light, I will smite you!"

Riren steps forward to the Half Orc leader and swings his blade. Attempting to use his reach to minimize others attacking him

Scimitar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

"Leave this place, take your fight elsewhere. These children are not for you or your god, back off now!"
