Rhaedlaf was/is originally intended for a PFS game that never really materialized, and then for another game on the boards that is no longer active, so I'm pretty sure with some reworking of his CS, he'd fit right in. He's a human Wizard, built to work as a Gandalf/Elminster type, a student of the Conjuration school (but casts like a Universalist). He's intended to be more advisor and planner than spell-slinging combatant. As for his "communication" skills, he's got the Clever Wordplay trait which allows him to use his Int rather than Chr for Diplomacy. (His quick wit is both snarky and (hopefully) charming and funny. I'll get to work on the changeover and background changes right away, but I just wanted to toss my name into the ring for this. Sounds like fun! (I'll let you know when he's officially ready) Currently I'm only playing in one game, DM Salsa's Crypt of the Everflame, as Culver Cobbletoss, the quirky and lovable, halfling rogue. This from the spell description for Burning Hands: "A character can extinguish burning items as a full-round action." Is that purely a mundane thing, or is it possible for Rhaed to "cancel-out" his magically summoned flame? The latter feels cooler, but probably not accurate. In any event, I don't want to post it that way, and then have to go back and write it out. Y'know? lol

With a slight nod, he follows behind Aris as she moves on. Since Nempura is casting Detect Magic, Rhaed will refrain from doing so for the moment, so long as she is not being subtle about it. Question for the DM, in your world, does the spell only show what's magical to the caster or to everyone within sight range? I've played with DMs who've handled it both ways. Figured it was better to check.

So. Learning new things every day. Like the fact that I hate ships. As a less-than-stellar swimmer, Rhaedlaf had planned to spend most of the voyage below decks, studying his spells, the mage had discovered to his absolute horror that he was, in fact, rather prone to sea-sickness, and had spent the entirety of the journey so far at the rail, vomiting, or wishing that he could. Puffy-eyed and feeling frail, the magic-user drew some comfort from the fact that the row boats were far less likely to induce more nausea, and did his best to be amicable as he stowed his gear aboard one and found a spot to secure himself. While technically a conjurer, Rhaed will cast as a generalist wizard for the most part, excluding necromancy and enchantment. He's more of a battlefield controller than a blaster, to be sure. Though, he won't forego damage dealing spells altogether. And he has a healing-ish spell of his own, as well. ;)

Small note on Rhaedlaf's manner of speaking: He talks a lot. He chatters, and obviously likes the sound of his own voice. (Think Tony Stark, but less charming or smart) This is intentional and not because I simply like to type dialogue. :D So, feel free, so long as it's not TOO rude, once the characters get to know each other, to tell him to cut it out. Also, Mr. Clint, did Rhaedlaf know anything about the Gloamhold that he overheard the drunk gentleman muttering about? Rolled a 19 on Knowledge check...
