"Whoa, it talks...!" So taken aback by this, Raina very nearly falls over herself as she gapes at the bizarre creature. "Then there's no need to fight, right? Just go back down into the sewers and we'll overlook this!"

Nevertheless, Adoros' guiding words push her onwards and Rains feels her body moving almost without thinking. She grabs at the eye-stalk and yanks down - hard - allowing Korriban a chance to strike its backside. When its angry tentacles swing around to grab her, she ducks out of the way and flicks a quick side kick aimed at its nether regions.

Raina had heard tell of the otyugh "garbage collectors" that lived in the sewers, but she had never before seen one with her own two eyes. "Being thrown to the otyughs" was something she had been threatened with as a child, as silly a bogeyman as it came; but seeing the bizarre creature in the flesh left the boxer feeling rather disturbed. (Perhaps that's just the terrible smell of the thing getting to her, though.)

... no! Bad Raina! Now's not the time to be creeped out by giant gross rubbish-eating tentacle-things! There are innocent people to protect! Gritting her teeth and taking a deep breath, Raina dashes around to close in on the otyugh, pushing her way through the throngs of terrified people as she goes.

Double move.

Hi guys.

Sorry that I was gone for a lot longer than I had initially said. The short version is "personal problems"; for a little more detail, I wrote some stuff up in my own campaign if you're curious.

I am in the process of catching up and hopefully this will never happen again!

You could try! I don't want to see the poor thing languish here either.

Raina facepalms as Korriban thunks down to the ground, wincing at what would no doubt be a crooked nose once it healed... not unlike her own, in fact. (It was rare to find a person in her business that didn't have busted cartilage in some way.) "This is why I said I should do it," she mutters and then heaves a sigh. Glancing up to Gruckalus, she offers him a weak smile, "No hard feelings, eh mate? Just friendly heckling. You gotta learn to ignore that stuff if you wanna do well in the ring!"

She otherwise lets Korriban take the lead in the negotiations, nudging him in the side and mouthing, "Don't forget the dragon!"

Apologies to everyone in games I'm in.

I have exams at the moment, which is making me busier than normal, but I also had a mild family crisis (nothing serious thankfully!) that resulted in me needing to babysit my sister's kids while trying to juggle studying and exams and whatnot. Busy times.

I'll try my best to catch up tonight and tomorrow, but please do bot me in the instance that I am (almost certainly) holding things up.

After my exams are done next week things will be better. Sorry again!

Raina winces as Korriban takes a nasty whack to the ribs. The young rogue was showing his inexperience in close combat... give him a fancy sword, sure, he seemed fine, but this one-on-one stuff was way out of his depth. I shoulda' pushed to do this more, she thinks to herself with a shake of her head.

"C'mon! I thought this was a freakin' game, not a weird half-assed wrestling match! Guess someone as stupid as that big oaf can't comprehend much more than whacking things!"

Raina rolls her eyes upon watching the ensuing "game", leaning up against a wall with her arms folded. She has a feeling she's seen this Gurckalus fellow somewhere before... Big, burly brute obviously had some knowledge of boxing techniques, it seems; he wasn't just a muscular thug wildly swinging his fists around, though he did a good job of pretending as such.

"Aw, come on," she eggs on the fighters, particularly hoping to irritate Korriban's opponent, "I could hit the broad side of a barn better than that! Korriban, go for it!"

Raina has, in her past, wisely kept away from most shady and/or dangerous games. If someone wanted to challenge her, they'd organise it in a reasonably safe and even way. But the way Barvasi described it left her with a sour taste in her mouth. She takes a deep breath and steels herself. This is... surely... the last of it. And then we can leave this sodding place for good.

"Goin' for the dagger's one thing, but I have the benefit of not needing it," Raina points out in a low murmur. "And if they wanna try picking it up, it's a cinch to knock it out of their hand as well."

"But if you're confident in your fast moves..." she shrugs.

Following along with the others into this web-decorated hive of villainy, Raina struggles to hide her immense disgust at the arachnids infesting this place. She suddenly understood why Kroft had said that nobody up to any good would be in Eel's End... I can't believe that the city would be fine with some disgusting place like this, she thinks to herself with a deep frown, but that an 'unofficial charity' is worth the loss of fingers... what a messed up place Korvosa is. For a few moments she stares at the little purple dragon, feeling a little sorry for him, but not knowing that she could do anything about it either...

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Raina has only a few confused moments to consider why Ted and the other guy (just what was his name again...?) were here again before Devargo Barvasi initiates conversation. His insult to her appearance is met with a flat glare, but she decides to not impede on Korriban's deal-making by complaining too much, and so her tongue is held for now.

Sorry about that! I should be more active from now on, with classes finally over for the semester.

Conversation with Orsini:
Though sad to see Imperia go, Raina can see the logic of staying holed up with her little sister. She gives the young woman a friendly smile, and ruffles Celia’s hair while she's at it. "You keep yourselves safe," she says, glancing at the scrap of parchment before secreting it in her pockets somewhere. "Here's to hoping we see ya' sooner rather than later."

With a nod to Kroft as they leave, Raina joins the others in their walk across the city, mostly silent as she listens to the murmur of conversation ebb and flow around her ears. Watery blue eyes drift like the tides across the streets of the city, gently touching upon the faces of those they past for scant moments, not so much taking in details as recognising the patterns within the people. The weary eyes of a struggling single mother, the pockmarked gauntness of a drug-addled destitute, the taught and wary stance of a passing guard, the tired indifference of a labourer on his way to his next job, the quiet sigh of an empty-stomached child. Old Korvosa was well known for its poor population, and with the recent riots it was no doubt hitting these people the hardest. The increase in food prices would result not in smaller portions but whole meals skipped entirely, and no doubt the less savoury elements that lingered like a pestilence in these areas would be taking the opportunity to peddle their poison to these desperate people with increasing frequency.

Raina’s shoulders sag as she sighs quietly to herself. She realised that the recent rewards and steady stream of unexpected income placed her rather firmly out of the realm of subsistence living, as she had been for many years; but now, from her position of privilege, what could she do to help these people...?

She starts from her pensiveness when Orsini directly addresses her, suddenly dragged back into the now rather than her morose philosophical meanderings. Struggling to piece together what was going on, Raina begins a quick and dirty recount of her life... though with a few details missing.

"Yeah, I'm a native. Grew up in Pillar Hill in a Sarenite orphanage there. Don't know a thing about my parents, but I mean, it wasn't exactly a bad life there either." Raina smiles crookedly; only a thing she could say in hindsight, after all, considering her rebellious younger years. "I work as a bouncer now, or hired muscle, or whatever needs doing. And I box. And wrestle. Dunno if you've ever heard of Old Tusk's Gym, but it's practically my second home." She shoots Orsini a sidelong glance, one eyebrow arched. "But I've never heard anyone call me a beauty, not in any of that, heh. Didn't reckon most people went for girls with more muscle than busts..." Raina laughs to herself.

After the mixed sweet-and-sour wandering, Raina bids adieu to Orsini with a friendly wave before forcing herself to return to reality and pay attention. This area was notoriously dangerous, and the one time Raina had accepted a job in this district, she'd witnessed a harrowing near-fatal stabbing incident right before her eyes, and she vowed to avoid the area as best she could henceforth. She warily keeps an eye out for any danger coming their way, and does her best to keep an eye on Gadriel as well, although the scurrying, climbing youth did her best to make that a difficult task.

When they arrive at Eel's End, Raina arches an eyebrow at the signs, not even wanting to try and imagine just what each of the 'attractions' entailed. "Yeah... I guess," she mutters in response to Korriban, idly fingering her chain shirt and hoping it would be good enough if they got into any trouble here.

Raina is very much chaotic good. She doesn't want to hurt people (too badly, at least), and she knows people have to often do some shady things to make a living in this craphole of a city, but so long as there's nothing too bad going on that hurts a lot of people (theft, exploitation, slavery, etc.) she doesn't care that much. And even then, she'd rather have them "see the light" after a few fisticuffs to the head. Killing, though? Not unless someone's REALLY bad...

There's a reason why she usually uses nonlethal damage, in other words. :P

She also has trust issues. For obvious reasons. Don't take it personally.

Sorry for my slowness. :( It's going to continue like this for a little while yet. Do drag me along if I'm holding the game up at all.

The honest-to-god delight her team-mates seem to be displaying when considering whether to kill a man they don't even know yet turns Raina's stomach, and she's rendered speechless at the whole conversation. Her mind wanders back to that night, not too long ago, at Lamm's warehouse, and the ferocious and merciless way these people treated his lackeys... her hatred for the man burned just as bright, but she could never kill a man at point-blank range like that. Raina purses her lips tightly as she frowns; I really do not know these people at all...

Thankfully, thankfully, Kroft comes forward with some common sense on the matter. Her initial respect for the woman swells yet again, and she nods in acquiescence, glad that she would not have to physically hold down her companions should they get a little bloodthirsty. "Got it, Field-Marshall. I'll make sure this goes as you want. Promise." Raina offers Kroft a confident, toothy grin and a thumbs up to seal the deal.

Raina decides not to press the issue of 'appreciating pretty women' further--after all... Orsini was clearly not a bad guy. She'd gotten her point across, and felt good about it, and that was what mattered. "Next time I meet her, I'll be ready to deal with her and her stupid sword," she grumbles. "But I'll heed your advice and pay her the respect she deserves. ...For her combat prowess, at least. Not the rest of it."

Once Korriban has gotten an answer to his question about a safe house, Raina presses Kroft on the reason they were brought here today. "So, I take it you've got a new job for us, then?" she asks, straightforward as ever.

Apparently, its's a conflict in the canon. Looks like we're facing the Guide to Korvosa one.

Raina knows this older gentleman the moment she lays eyes on him, so much so that she's not particularly surprised at his (in her opinion) curmudgeonly insistence on greeting the 'ladies' in the way he does. It's difficult for a person in her line of work to not be familiar with Orsini's fencing school; plenty of good mercs and other such sellswords came out of his tutelage, including many of the more successful ones. Nevertheless, she weathers his gentle kiss with gritted teeth, only to forcefully grab his hand and impose a strong handshake on him in return once he's done.

In case I need to make a roll... not sure what it would be, though!: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Ha!

"Orsini, your reputation proceeds you," Raina says with a smile, hoping that would take some of the edge out of her... perhaps rude actions. It's not like she disliked the guy, after all; she had a lot of respect for his fencing, and of course his political activism as well. Just... y'know. It was the principle of the matter. "Nice to meet you in the flesh, rather than just your students."

Raina nods at his question to her, barely able to hold back a sneer at the memory of that so-and-so of a woman. "Wasn't much of a sight to see, really," she drawls, unable to hide the venom in her voice. "That... Vox woman ain't much of a looker, after all."

"Would've loved to have done more than glared at her..." Raina adds, clenching her fist before her chest and gazing down at it sadly. "Anything to get her and her kind out of Korvosa. Bloody awful, those Hellknights are!"

Raina offers Imperia and/or Gadriel the use of Korriban's bed early on in the evening after they retire to the rogue's bedroom. Outwardly, this is from modesty and niceness ("You're not used to sleepin' on the floor, Imperia," she claims, "and Gad needs to have a good sleep every now and then too!")... but inwardly, mostly, she just feels awkward sleeping in some guy's bed. Even Korriban's.

A slightly uncomfortable eight hours of dozing off follows, blissfully unaware of the rather...lewd goings-on elsewhere in the Rosa in Fiore. Probably much better for Raina's conscience that she doesn't stop to wonder long at the loud thump followed by Adoros' quiet cursing means...

Aye, Raina's sleepin' through.

Raina frowns at Teodor, but does not complain about his joining them wherever they should go.

"There's the guard barracks too," she points out, "assuming that offer from Kroft still stands. I don't care where we go... just so long as there's a bed somewhere in there."

Truth be told, Raina felt a little uncomfortable staying at the Rosa (for basically the exact reasons Adoros hinted at), but she didn't feel like belabouring the point too much.

"We didn't exactly leave much of a trail going in and out of there, and yet they still managed to track you down... from a bloody prostitute, for Abadar's sake. They've got good ears to the ground in this Five Fists group for sure. I think you'd be putting your family in more danger by getting them involved... not to mention Celia and Imperia."

That the guard is investigating? You gotta know he'll figure out where the name leaked out from, and he'll come after you next."

"I feel like we gotta keep this on the down-low. Maybe wait in ambush for him when you meet up again... then pounce. I'm sure I can take this a**hole and teach him a thing or two about messing with my friends." Raina cracks her knuckles pointedly.

Pleased that she didn't have to take the box, Raina watches the court proceedings fairly impassively, stifling a yawn as she goes. With Korriban and Adoros down there testifying, she figured all was going to be alright for Vancaskerkin... to the extent that she's legitimately shocked at the harsh sentence laid down on all of them. She chokes back her surprise, biting down hard on her lip to stop herself from yelling out.

Okay... the death penalty for a creepy murder cult... I guess I can understand, Raina reasons with herself, staring in disbelief at Zenderholm. But losing two fingers for running a CHARITY? Losing all your money as a downgrade in the sentence?! What in the hell?! Though she was aware of how unfair the law and order of Korvosa could be, this was the first time she was seeing it in the flesh, so to speak. Raina narrows her eyes and scowls at no-one in particular--just the crazed system that left her city all kinds of messed up. The stupid laws. The upper class. Cheliax in general, really.

Raina is still rather irate when Kroft calls them over, so much so that she merely responds with a curt nod and immediately begins to make her way to Kroft's offices. She doesn't bother waiting for her friends--she's too distracted by clenching her fists and shooting dark looks at any lawyer-looking people she can see.

Kn. Local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

This was the perfect kind of day to stay in bed all day, Raina notes blearily upon waking, later than usual as a result of the grey rainclouds blocking her usual alarm clock--the mid-morning sun. Nevertheless, the nibbling reminder in the back of her head that the trial was today eventually encourages her to leave the warmth and comfort of under her covers, bathing and munching on some half-stale bread before donning her new chain-link armour. A strange and unfamiliar weight upon her shoulders... she fingers the chain shirt, finding it uncomfortable but knowing that it would be better protection from danger than her old leathers. With a sigh, Raina slips a shirt on over the top and heads on down across the city to the courtroom.

Compared to the usual courtroom-goer, Raina looks considerably out-of-place in her shabby, rough-and-tumble clothing, and doubly so from how drenched she got from walking through the rain all this time. She is nevertheless unheeding of the dark glares she gets for tramping mud through the courtroom galleries, and takes up a seat nearby some familiar faces.

For the most part, the testimony process bores her, and she very nearly drifts off to sleep more than once. However, when the tub of grizzle is brought in as evidence, she sits up, straight-backed, her eyes wide in shock and disgust. "I... I was right?" she says quietly, slack-jawed. "They were... selling people... to eat..." Raina goes somewhat green in the face.

Soylent green is people!

When Kroft approaches them with a request to testify, Raina stays quiet, merely arching an eyebrow in response. She'd never heard of this judge, and she certainly didn't really feel like taking the stage at this point, but... well, we'll see.

GM:
Raina listens in quietude to Zellara's explanation, nodding from time to time, but even knowing the meaning behind the Cricket and the Rabbit still leaves her confused and a little nervous. "A Harrowing probably wouldn't go astray," she admits with a light sigh, slumping back in her chair and rubbing her eyes. "Lamm's gone, but I'm still just as strung-up as ever..."

Strange, Raina thinks as she watches the Varisian woman out of the corner of her eye, it was not long ago that I thought this fortune-telling stuff was total crap... but now I'm worried about my dreams and getting a ghost to look into my future. She chuckles quietly to herself. I might be strung-up, but I really have changed a lot in just a few days... there is just so much going on...

GM:
Raina startles as the door opens, very nearly falling off her chair at the unexpected sound. She breathes a sigh of relief to see not a robber or nightmare, but rather, the kind Varisian fortuneteller whose spirit inhabited these cards.

"Ah, you heard about that?" Raina grimaces at the memory of the day's events, particularly at that hateful glare Vox had given her. She didn't know how Zellara had heard about it from the... spirit realm, or whatever, but knew enough not to question how this magic stuff worked. "Yeah, it was bloody awful. Those freaking Hellknights are the absolute worst! They'd kill someone for throwing a tomato at the queen!" She growls, "They're like vultures, just hanging around for any excuse to swoop down and pray on people. Ugh."

Luckily, Zellara moved to the cards at this point, allowing Raina to push aside her anger and return to the topic for which she had summoned the friendly woman here in the first place. "Ah... yeah." The young Korvosan shuffles uncomfortably, averting her eyes from Zellara's own. "You might think I'm pretty weird for fussin' about this stuff, but... I dunno. Too much weird stuff going on lately for me to be questioning my instincts at this point."

"So... I had this dream." She glances shyly up at the Varisian as she begins to recount her dream. "There was a cricket and a rabbit having a tea party. They were eating cakes that looked like Lamm's ugly mug, and then the rabbit ate the cricket at the end. Kinda weird, I know. But... I dunno." Raina points at the Harrow cards. "It made me think of these. The Rabbit Prince and the Cricket, y'know? They came up in the reading as well..."

Raina shrugs. "What do you think? Am I over-thinking this? My dreams are usually pretty tormenting, not just... plain weird."

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

The blur of events that transpired in the past scant handful of minutes seemed to be something out of one of Raina's nightmares. That foul Hellknight, with all the apathetic cruelty of their ilk, was ready to split her skull in two for having the audacity to protect the fallen. Raina only vaguely recognised just how close her brush with death was; probably a mental defence mechanism, for the most part. But all she's immediately cognisant of is her smouldering anger, and how she meets the Hellknight's fierce glare of loathing with an equally firm stare of her own. Bring it on, the fires in her eyes tell the Hellknight. I'd like to see you try.

Luckily, her unspoken taunt has no need to be brought to fruition with the timely intervention of Cressida Kroft and the Archbanker, both household names in their own rights. The warmth of Darb Tuttle's healing powers helps to soothe not only the dull ache in her midsection but also the anger festering in her heart, although that second part is quickly replaced by schadenfreude as the Field-Marshall serves the Hellknight a knew one. Raina smirks up at Vox as she is slapped down with the very force of the law that she follows, but resists the urge to say anything herself. She hopes the Hellknight can read minds instead. Suck it, b@!@*.

"I really don't think they're even a necessary evil, Field-Marshall," Raina mutters bitterly, watching Vox stalk off with a scowl. "There's no way that the benefits outweigh the utter pain and suffering they inflict. No. Bloody. Way." Imperia's quick briefing on the woman's identity just confirms her point, although Raina silently hopes that Vox does remember her, at least a little. Otherwise it wouldn't be as fun to smash her face in next time I see her!

With that dealt with, Raina then turns to face both Cressida and Darb and offers them a grin and her thanks along with the others. "I'll make sure to chuck a couple of coins the way of the temple of Abadar next time I'm in the neighbourhood, sir!" The church of Abadar was not one she paid much heed or respect to in general, but fair was fair after all.

Alas, Teodor's 'cult' (she still refused to call it a religion, and Archbanker Tuttle's reaction to the very name of his messed-up Lord seemed to confirm her distaste for Groetus as well) manages to piss off the very people they had just made good relations with, and Raina sighs in disgust. "I don't want anything to do with his messed-up faith either," she mutters sourly to Kroft, not bothering to lower her voice even though Teodor is right in front of her, "and I won't let him do anything weird. Promise." She even manages to smile a little here, adding, "...and I'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon, ma'am."

Barring any words from the rest of the crew, Raina will do as Kressida says and head on home as soon as possible. The unfortunate events of the festival had left her with a sour taste in her mouth, and she wanted to get home and relax as fast as she could.

Norv:
When Raina returns home, after removing her boots and armour and cooling off for a short while, her thoughts return to the strange dreams of last night. Deciding now was as good a time as any, she takes Zellara's Harrow deck out from its safe keeping inside a hidden pocket of her backpack and attempts to summon the Varisian woman to speak with her about it.

You might wanna have a look over the loot tracker because I'm not exactly sure if I've got everything in it right. Not sure what stuff Korriban just sold, for example, or if I forgot something here or there.

(Everyone should be able to edit it, by the way!)

Loot Tracker - I think I got everything, but I'm not sure.

Things included in the actual coinage part:
- Copper and silver found in Lamm's hideout
- Liquidated gold bars from the Queen
- The coin reward from the Field-Marshall

I didn't include the sold jewellery mentioned above, because I'm not 100% sure what was sold and what wasn't sold, yet.

Everyone should be able to modify this as appropriate if I forgot something.

I'll go for the masterwork chain shirt and rope, and sell my old studded leather (for 12 gp, 5 silver). I'll also pick up a couple of flasks of alchemist's fire, if that's fine. Total is then 301 gp.

Just to clarify, everyone gets:
- 94.16 gp from selling stuff we got from Lamm's hideout
- 300 gp from the gold bars from the queen
- 167 gp from the reward for dealing with Vancaskerkin

I might make up a loot tracker sheet and go through the thread, because I've been a little lax with keeping track of things...

Raina feels caught between two things: her hatred of the Hellknights and her severe dislike of Teodor.

But, well, she knew at least one of them was trying to stop the violence at this moment. And one of them was actively hoping for more.

With a whispered word to the boy she helped for him to make himself scarce, Raina places herself in between Teodor and the Hellknight with a dark glare. Hopefully Adoros and Korriban's words would be enough to send the dark-plated guard away, but if that failed, she makes it clear from her glowering scowl that she won't put up with any nonsense from him.

OOCly, I don't want to take Teodor's gold; we should split things evenly.

Raina probably cares far less--she'd probably just donate it to some cause or something if need be, because she doesn't want to feel like she owes Teodor anything.

During her daily routine, or perhaps before the group heads to the festival, Raina stops in at a blacksmith to see if she can get some better armour. Her old set was pretty useless now, having a big ol' sword cut through the midsection...

I'd like to buy a chain shirt, or better yet, a masterwork chain shirt. Norv, are you okay with masterwork items being enchanted (i.e., I could make it a +1 chain shirt later on)?

I'll also buy some silk rope, because I'm tired of not having rope to tie people up with! :P

Before arriving at 3 Lancet:
Raina laughs awkwardly when Bessa showers her with motherly affection, squeezing the woman back with a grin. She's especially glad to hear nothing bad has happened to them, and enjoys a warn cup of tea as the middle-aged woman chats away, as she often did when Raina paid a visit. However, word of the delivery shortages causes her to sigh heavily. "Too late, huh? Don't worry about it, Mrs Harvington, I understand! Times are rough, and I wouldn't want to hurt your margins any more than this nonsense is already going to do." She'll happily pay whatever price Bessa asks for the assorted veggies, and even chucks in a couple of silver on top of that just to make sure the warm-hearted woman and her family make it through these hard times safely. (She might have to surreptitiously leave the coinage somewhere on Bessa's dining room table to get the woman to accept it, of course.)

Before bed, she pulls out the small coffer from the queen with some trepidation. She hesitantly opens it up, unsure whether the incredible sum of money would have instantly dissipated or turned into coal or something during the intervening hours since their meeting. Assuming the gold bars are as they were previously, she gently takes them out, one by one, and does some quick sums as to their worth... No doubt coming out pale-faced and swearing at the end of it, for it's likely more money than Raina has ever seen.

The next morning, Raina awakens with a puzzled frown on her face. No nightmares was a good thing, but... what a bizarre dream! She was used to the scary ones ending in violence or death, but... tea parties? On a whim, she sits on her bed and pulls out the 'haunted' Harrow deck and begins thumbing through them, looking for any that resemble crickets, or rabbits, or tea parties... I swear I remember seeing one like this somewhere... didn't Korriban have the Rabbit Prince or something? Though she briefly considers 'calling' Zellara for a chat on the matter of strange portents, she decides that she would tuck her concerns away for now and proceed with the rest of her day's business.

The rest of her day is as filled with mixed blessings as her dream—being chewed out by Nokalo was never fun, but seeing the orphanage flush with funds and happy faces was great. And hopefully she'll get Gadriel to smile soon too, with the warm Oliphant Ear wafting delicious scents all the way to 3 Lancet...

How much money do I owe for the food stocks/Oliphant Ear? Raina won't be haggling this time, now that she's starting to see that the whole city's food stocks really are starting to suffer from the riots.

After an afternoon of chatter and snacks and catch-up, Raina is well and truly ready for festival-going. The young boxer seems particularly focused on getting Gadriel to enjoy the snacks and upcoming festival, lightly joking with the young girl in the hopes to see her smile, if even a little. She also awkwardly brings up the matter of the Queen's reward, bringing out the silver chest and sharing around the proceeds... (Norv will have to let us know how much that is!)

Alas, her bubbling excitement for the festival grinds to a sharp halt when they arrive at the parade. Raina's gentle grin is wiped away, replaced by a dark scowl as she glares at the dark-armoured forces as they march down the city streets. The Sable Company helps to assuage her annoyance a little—one could hardly avoid being awed by their griffon mounts—but she falls back down to a dull neutral upon seeing the Queen. Ileosa had seemed like a decent enough person when they met her up close, and yet... well, Raina just had a deep-seated dislike of nobility. Still, she tries to enjoy the proceedings as best she can.

... too bad it would all go to Hell in about ten seconds flat.

At first, Raina laughs at the spectacle of vegetables being pelted at the Queen; it was harmless citizen protest at that point, and nothing to be worried about. But she stops laughing upon seeing the Hellknight turn, her eyes widening in shock upon seeing civilians pause to pick up rocks and rubble. By the time the first blood has been shed, she is already growling in anger. Idiots! On both sides!

Raina looks around, searching for signs of any civilians unable to escape from the area—those caught up in the fighting were beyond her help now, but maybe she could help guide others to safety. If she sees anyone in immediate trouble, she dashes over as fast as she can.

Raina will definitely return to 3 Lancet after her other jobs to see if she can find Gadriel to drag her to the Founding Festival. Raina rolls her eyes at the pair of lovebirds and waves to the group as she jogs off. "Don't let him lead you astray, Imperia!" she shouts over her shoulder with a laugh. "And I'll try and find us some Oliphant Ears again, Gab - though I can't promise for breakfast! G'night!"

This evening, Raina will dump her stuff upstairs, do a brief check of her apartment in case of any break-ins or some such during her absence, and then head back downstairs to catch up with Bessa Harvington and her family. She wants to know if anything bad has happened to them, and of course warn them about the rumours of spiralling food prices that would no doubt affect her business. (She'll also purchase some more long-lived vegetables and the like while she can do so at a not entirely exorbitant price.)

Aside from checking up on her neighbours, Raina will burn off the last of her energy with a brief tussle with her punching bag before a hot bath and then falling into bed.

Tomorrow, her highest priority is to stop in at Old Tusk's Gym and chat with Nokalo, Tuskenhill, and the other workers and regulars about their own experiences. After making sure they're all safe (and no doubt avoiding Nokalo's piercing questions about her activities and sudden absence the past few days), Raina will head on down to the Pillar Hill Orphanage and see if there's anything they need down that way. (She'll also stop in at a toy shop somewhere and pick up some presents for the kids, if possible.)

It's probably early afternoon at least by the time Raina is able to break away from her "old life" and even think about finding an Oliphant vendor for Gadriel... probably not much luck at this time of day...

Kind of glossing over Raina's day plan here, but if you think there's anything we should go into more detail on, I'm happy to 'rewind' and 'zoom in' so to speak. :)

Raina perversely enjoys the exertion on some level--after all, wearing herself out to the point of exhaustion has long been her way of coping with extreme emotions. Struggling against the limits of her mortal frame was the best way to bury anything she didn't want to deal with, instead focusing every bit of her psyche on the task at hand. As such, the young wrestler is in a much better mood by the time they arrive... although not so much to allow Teodor to give Vancaskerkin a clean sweep.

"He deserted," Raina adds with a sidelong glare to Teodor, "and convinced others to do the same, all because his girlfriend suggested it. No matter the good cause he wound up making from it, it's still abandoning his job!"

"Oh, and Marshall--his men were running some kind of messed up murder business. Vancaskerkin had nothing to do with it, it seems, but the rest were happy to take coin to kill someone. So... have some leniency on him, but not the others."

Raina heaves a heavy sigh. She was looking forward to going home... it had been quite a while. "I'd like to sleep in my own bed for a change. It's in High Bridge, on Derwent Street... the apartment above Bessa's Best." I hope Mrs Harvington is okay...

Outside, Raina has been angrily taking out her frustrations by kicking around a pebble and glaring at random innocent bystanders. Hearing Korriban's shout from inside, she begrudgingly returns, pointedly storming past Teodor without a glance before heading out to the back room. She pauses only to request that Vancaskerkin point her to some rope she can borrow (there's gotta be some around somewhere, right?).

"Alright, alright, you lot, I'll have no complaints outta you," Raina grumbles, hoisting the groggy guards to their feet and roughly lashing their hands together with the rope in one long line.
