Have a great time in Paris. . Selfishly my vote will be for continuing this game no matter what. . I really liked how well we started. . There is no blame to lay at your doorstep Boneman. . You've been running a great game with great pacing.

We just got unlucky with some of the players dropping. .

I can think of one player that I can recommend from another game I'm in. . Maybe the others can do the same. . Maybe if we invite players who've proven reliable in other games we might have better luck than just opening up Recruitment and hoping for a better result than last time.

After listening to her response I think our best bet would to start with a thorough reading of the Professor's journal.

As the spectral face suddenly appears in the window Radriel takes an involuntary jump backwards. Used to seeing such things occassionally in his nightmares, but not while awake. Radriel is a confused mix of shock, anger, and (difficult for him to admit) a little fear.

With Father Harking and the spectral face gone from the room his respective sources of frustration and hatred gone, Radriel slowly masters himself.

When Hector speaks of being willing to share his knowledge Radriel responds "Thanks Hector, anything you can tell me of Harrowstone will be appreciated. Obviously we will not recieve any help from Harking in that regard, but he is hiding something"

Complying with Kendras request, Radriel follows the group into the Study.

His patience wearing thin, not that he has ever possessed that in great amounts anyways Radriel tries once more to get Father Harking to reveal what he is hiding about Harrowstone.

Radriel moves up to the window so he can see Harrowstone. When a flash of lighting illuminates it he makes eye contact with Father Harking.
Father we all know the Professor had a tendency for getting himself into trouble. You said so yourself. Out of all his "friends" we are the only ones that traveled to come pay him our respects. Don't you think friends such as us can be trusted to know what may have befallen him or your suspicions? He sent me a letter just before his death saying that there were unusual occurrences happening here, and even that he was a little afraid.

Do you know what may have caused him to be afraid? Does it have any connection with Harrowstone?

Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Radriel has never had much luck persuading people with talk. His fists always do a better job.

If this doesn't work he will sit impatiently waiting for the Father to grow a sack or wait for someone else to persuade the Father.

Ok. . Have to admit disappointment in his disappearance. Hopefully we can regain some momentum with just the 4 of us. I think we still have all our bases covered Divine Melee arcane and trap finding. .

Can someone with an actual diplomacy score try to pump father Harking and see what he's hiding regarding Harrowstone?

I honestly don't have a problem with being refocused when you feel it's necessary to avoid falling off the rails.

I know we agreed to give Kendra her space. But I would feel much better if we watched over her from a distance. Something has already happened to the Professor. I would feel much better if she had friendly eyes watching over her. What say you Hector? and anyone else who can move through the night without clanging every bit of armor you have. Shall we watch over her as she says her goodbyes? The rest of you noisy lot (Radriel says with a smile) can wait here at the cemetery entrance as promised.

With a voice still harsh and sore from the SCREAM and a glint of tears in his eyes Radriel recounts how his life crossed paths with the Professor and their relationship over the years "... most of all, thank you for taking the time to help a young lost boy find his way."
As he finishes his speech Radriel kneels down by the casket in a low voice meant for the Professor

whispered to the Professor or those with keen ears:
Convinced that this was no natural death. That the Professor had stumbled upon something dangerous as evidenced by his letter" By Ragathiels Sword and my Fists, you will be avenged"

Radriel stands and steps away from the casket. Eyes now devoid of tears, left in their place anger and a desire for vengeance.

My vote is against.

I think we have all our bases covered (melee. Arcane. Divine. Trap/skills) assuming that everyone keeps advancing in their current roles.

I will not be upset if we add another. I just don't think we need to.

Radriel rises from the floor and gets closer to everyone so he doesn't have to strain his raw voice so much. My vote is to spend the rest of the night at the Inn. As crazy as that may sound I like the idea of spending the night in the woods less at this point. Besides I agree with the Deputy that this has to be reported to the Locals and the Deputy is the best one to do that. After he has made his report in the morning we all can set out on the road together. It has been a taxing night and I wouldn't mind a couple of hours sleep in a decent bed before starting off. That said I'll abide by what the majority decides. his voice cracking with strain at the end

Why after all this time did skulls choose to reappear now? In my nightmares the skulls never spoke. Who or what was that voice from the skeletons and what is its connection to the Professor?

Thoughts swirl round and round through Radriels head. . Too much to absorb at the moment, he takes a seat on the floor of the barn and stares at the gruesome scene lost in thought.

Thats how I pictured Vishnya. As an Oracle he might be more serene looking into otherworldly domains.

Contrast that with Radriel: as a Warpriest, one of the gods he worships is Ragathiel (god of righteous vengeance). So while he Radriel is preternaturally Wise for his age and has an Iron Will he also has a chip on his shoulder (probably as a reaction to those horrid nightmares he sometimes has)

Yes my hands or whatever part of my body glow a golden color when being used in an attack. The glow originates in my torso and flows to the attacking limb. The displays will definitely intensify when I confirm a crit.

Think of it as my Ki originating from my core or the center of my being rather than obvious Strength and Muscle.

But as Radriel is often alone in precarious positions as a scout, he can as a free action suppress the displays of his Empowered Strikes.

It would be pretty damn inconvenient to go through all the trouble of sneaking up on someone to take them out quietly, only to have my Empowered Strikes give away my position like a torch in the darkness.

@Bone Man: I have a question on what my crit range is for my unarmed attacks. It has not come up yet because my rolls have been crappy. Standard unarmed attacks have crit of 20/x2/B. All mindblades have a crit range of 19-20/x2/P,B,S. However it was not mentioned specifically within the Soulknife Deadly Fist archetype.

Empowered Strikes from Deadly Fist:  :

Empowered Strikes (Su)
At 1st level, the deadly fist can, as a move action, wreath his body in psionic energy distilled from his own mind. This energy lasts until the deadly fist chooses to dismiss it as a free action. When empowered strikes is active, the deadly fists's unarmed strikes deal 1d6 points of damage if Medium-sized (or your normal unarmed strike damage, if higher) and are considered to be magic weapons for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Adjust unarmed damage if the deadly fist is a size other than Medium.
This effect is similar to a mind blade, except the deadly fist cannot change the form of empowered strikes, although he can change the damage type of his attacks between bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing, just like a normal soulknife. This effect cannot be broken like a mind blade, and it is still considered to be unarmed attacks instead of a weapon.
In all other ways, empowered strikes functions as a mind blade, including using Psychic Strike.
This replaces the Form Mind Blade class feature, but counts as Form Mind Blade for prerequisites or requirements.

As a move action, a soulknife can form a semi-solid weapon composed of psychic energy distilled from her own mind.
A soulknife must choose the form of her mind blade at 1st level. She can either form it into a light weapon, a one-handed weapon, or a two-handed weapon. Once chosen, her mind blade stays in this form every time the soulknife forms her mind blade. The light weapon deals 1d6 points of damage, the one-handed weapon deals 1d8 points of damage, and the two-handed weapon deals 2d6 points of damage. All damages are based on a Medium-sized creature wielding Medium-sized weapons; adjust the weapon damage as appropriate for different sized weapons. In all forms, the mind blade has a critical range of 19-20/x2. A soulknife with powerful build or any similar ability forms an appropriately-sized mind blade dealing the size-appropriate amount of damage. A soulknife can use feats such as Power Attack or Combat Expertise in conjunction with the mind blade just as if it were a normal weapon. She can also choose her mind blade for feats requiring a specific weapon choice, such as Weapon Focus and Improved Critical. Powers or spells that upgrade weapons can be used on a mind blade. The soulknife can use feats such as Weapon Finesse that work on light weapons with her mind blade, but such feats only work on mind blades in a light weapon form.
Even in places where psionic effects do not normally function (such as within a null psionics field), a soulknife can attempt to sustain her mind blade by making a DC 20 Will save. On a successful save, the soulknife maintains her mind blade for a number of rounds equal to her class level before she needs to check again, although the mind blade is treated for all purposes as a non-magical, masterwork weapon while in a place where psionic effects do not normally function. On an unsuccessful attempt, the mind blade vanishes. As a move action on her turn, the soulknife can attempt a new Will save to rematerialize her mind blade while she remains within the psionics-negating effect. She gains a bonus on Will saves made to maintain or form her mind blade equal to the total enhancement bonus of her mind blade (see below).
The soulknife chooses the appearance of her mind blade, although its shape must reflect the selections the soulknife has chosen: a bludgeoning mind blade would be blunt, slashing would have an edge, etc.

Nowhere in Deadly Fist was a crit range mentioned. So I defaulted back to the standard Soulknife which says In all forms, the mind blade has a critical range of 19-20/x2.
I think they forgot to put it in the Deadly Fist. In the Soulbolt archetype they did Regardless of form, the mind bolt has a 19-20 critical threat range, has a maximum range of 10 range increments, and is treated as a projectile. Compare the Soulbolt 1d6 19-20 x2 (p/s/b) 100ft with Long Bow 1d8 x3 (p) 100ft
So for every mind blade the crit range is 19-20 x2 (b/p/s) regardless of form. If the Deadly fist crit range is 20 x2 (b/p/s) then it would be the exception to all the other mind blades.
It would have been nice if they had clarified it within the Deadly Fist archetype. I just want to get clarification from you on how you want to rule it, before it comes up because it wasn’t explicitly covered within the archetype.

The elation Radriel felt watching his TORMENTOR crumble vanishes as the Skeletons speak in unison. While he can fight back against these monsters, he now knows that they are just puppets of a Greater Evil.
