Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 "If there were any other way I'd say close the door. As it is we have go through these things to get anywhere." Radavek strides into the room and leaps on top of the 3' stone table. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Or rather tries to. He slips and crashes against the side of the stone. It's a big wide open room. Plenty of space for once.

Radavek steps back tries an empty pass with the hammer before stepping in to swing with real intent. Warhammer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 ..... damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 crit confirm Warhammer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 ..... damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10 He smiles. "I just needed to get a feel for it."

Radavek smiles. He pats his curved sword. "My uncle's gift is keen, but it skips along skeletons' bones. You're right, Ravin, something to crush them to dust might be handy." The young Varisian bravo steps forward to examine the weapons and the shield and breastplate. Good loot for a fighter-type here. I've got my eye on either the morning star or the warhammer. Possibly the shield and breastplate, even the scale mail. Who else can use an upgrade?

Radavek draws his scimitar. "Let Viniana stand on the trap door while we try the other. Her glaive can still be of use then and she'll know if anything issues from the depths." At Jonhilda's question, the Varisian's gaze slides from the elf to the half-orc followed by a slight nod. "Ask Torrosk. He's the better warrior against these walking dead."

Radavek observes, "They're going to need a clean up crew down here." He squares up to the door. "Let's see what's in here then." Sword and torch in hand he advances into the new room. Is the first torch used up?

"Well you've got them now. Packed like sardines and clawed like dragons." Radavek holds up an arm to show some of his wounds. "How many rooms are down there? Just how big are those catacombs?" Looks like we fell into one of those PbP holes where everyone is waiting for someone else to post.

Even with Ravin's magic, Radavek comes around slowly and when he wakes he cradles his arm to his side. "Thanks. Those things were tougher than I thought. Thought I'd meet Pharasma today." He looks at the bodies on the ground beside him and at the battered half-orc. "Think there's any chance Juriendor is still alive?" 4 hp for me. Torrosk's at half. Seems the casters are running low on spells. While I'm not a big fan of the 15 minute adventuring day, it looks like that's what we've got. I'm all for retreating topside.

Surrounded on three sides, Radavek begins to panic. His attacks take on a desperate strength as he hews at the wounded creature before him. Scimitar, rage: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19 .... damage: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10 5 rounds of rage remaining; 4 temp hp; -2 to AC

Now I'm a little confused. I rolled the readied attack in my last post. Your post implies the zombie struck me first and says nothing about my attack. Did that one hit? Did the attack not come off for some reason?

"Torrosk, here! You others back out!" Radavek swings his scimitar back and holds it ready to strike. Ready action to attack when one comes in reach. Scimitar: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 .... damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
I'll hold the door one round so we can rearrange. Get Torrosk in this room and everyone else in the previous room. Then I'll step out of the way and we can use the door to gate these things. Sound good?

Radavek drops the torch and staggers back holding his hand to his chest. "The door bites!" He quickly scoops the torch back up and drives the butt end into the door to push it farther open. Is that a door across the way? Are the walls down here built up or cut into the rock?

Radavek steps over his ghoulblin and into the room beyond. As he crosses the threshold he looks up at the ceiling. Then he scans the room. "Plenty of work for the priests to clean up." Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Obviously he's still a little fatigued from his rage.

"So kill them then?!" A panicked Radavek sweeps his torch at the ghoublin and follows it with his scimitar. Hoping that holds the creature back he stumbles backwards himself. Scimitar v ghoulblin, rage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 .... damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Torch for fluff. AC drops to 14. 6 of 7 rage rounds remaining. Moved 5' left on gameboard. I hope this thing steps into a wall of AoO.

When I asked which way, I meant below ground. I should have specified. Mostly I didn't want to get to the bottom of the stairs and go the wrong way. Radavek's gaze slides over the room's furnishings as he looks for doors.

Radavek follows Viniana and listens keenly while she talks about her work, but his eyes flit back and forth between the books and paintings and the woman herself. "Wow! This painting is really nice." When she disappears behind her screen, he wants to say something about her, but most of the others wouldn't appreciate it and Finn is dead. Torrosk's half human. I wonder if he likes human women. Hmm. maybe I don't want to stir that pot. ***
We shouldn't be down there too long. Rad will leave his pack and lance behind. He will take the pint of oil, flint and steel, and 3 torches. He's got 7 more if anyone needs one.

Radavek intones solemnly, "If a man can't face his wife's father and brothers, he doesn't deserve her." Then he breaks into a grin. "It seemed like an easy way to make some gold and buy a new horse. Instead it's become a great adventure. I might never have come this way, never seen this road." He's just as quickly serious again. "Although this situation seems rather dire." |
