Always checking in but nothing ever seems to happen.
FYI - Camping this weekend - no internet.
I have some games that aren't updating correctly as well. I think we all need to check the game thread once a day just to be sure.
Please roleplay out Viniana's introduction and the plan with the new news you have just gaine.
All,
I have a big trial coming up Wed-Tuesday of next week. I hope to still be able to post regularly, but wondering if we're ready to push on or still RPing introdutions?.
Thanks!
Male 1/2 Orc Paladin (Undead Scourge)/2 AC:20 | HP: 15/23 | Init +4 | Perc +0 | F: +5 R:+3 W:+3 (+3 against divine spellcasting)
Busy at work and probably won't be able to post till aft/evening.
Back from trial. Hope to get things moving again!
To move things along, I would offer to do standard perception rolls whenever someone indicates that the area should be searched. If you want me to, here is what I would do:
Ravin take 10 on his search for a 15, and the rest of the party tries to aid another to get a variety of +2's. I will roll for the Aid Another actions, and we will total up whether the final result is a 15, 17, 19, 21, or 23.
Sound like a plan?

Male 1/2 Orc Paladin (Undead Scourge)/2 AC:20 | HP: 15/23 | Init +4 | Perc +0 | F: +5 R:+3 W:+3 (+3 against divine spellcasting)
Or that. Should have looked in here first. And it'd be 16 to start with - Ravin increased perception at level 2.

Is that kn roll an arcana roll, or religion? If it's a divine spell cast or ritual, wouldn't that be a religion roll?
female human cleric of Shelyn 1 | Hp 10/10 | AC 14 (), TAC 12, FF 12 () | F +1, Ref +2, Will +5 | Peception +3 Channel Energy 1d6 (dc 12) (5/5) | Dazing Touch (6/6) | Touch of Good (6/6)
Nope, it's arcana either way. Religion is dealing with doctrine, holy symbols, holy days, and undead primarily.

I'd vote for spellcraft!
But Crellan seems to be giving this for free, and he's DM. So whatever he says goes in my book.

If it were being actively cast it's spellcraft, already cast and in place is arcana, least per crb, obviously it's up to gm prerogative.

I will be going out of town June 3-7 and will have limited internet availability most likely so feel free to bot me during that time frame.
Did all the undead make their acrobatics rolls to leave the grease?
A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details).
Once again I am in a position where anything of value I do provokes. We have not done well in tactical positioning when the mage is always in danger. I was hoping the corner was safe.
Yes we did those checks when appropriate.
Agree that we need to be more careful about who is positioned where. Y'all boxed your best melee fighter out of the combat... withdrawal actions are valid actions to get where you need to go.
Male Human (Varisian); Percept 3, Sense Motive -1; AC 20 T 13 FF 17; F 5, R 2, W -1; HP 28/28
To be honest, I didn't think they'd be able to push past me like that at the door. I thought I had them bottle-necked until BigT got into position.
I provoke twice if I move out of the room. We may need to establish a marching order where the melee fighters are up front. Moving my token in the room and not having everyone else in the room was the problem.
And, like the tower battle, the dice have been against us. Three skeletons all make reflex saves and all make acrobatics checks. The odds of that are fairly low.

To clarify: I believe there is a difference between a door and a corner as far as movement goes. As far as door movement goes, From Torrosk's square he can move to any of the three spots to his south as a 5' step.
From Jonhilda's square he could move to Viniana's square from where he is as a 5' step, or use a withdrawal action through that square.
Note: The fact that a door is in a place that would otherwise be a corner doesn't get around the corner rule... it is only for doors that have open space on both sides.
In my experience doors become way too big of a bottleneck and movement drain otherwise. If someone has a citation to a rule other than:
"Diagonals
When measuring distance, the first diagonal counts as 1 square, the second counts as 2 squares, the third counts as 1, the fourth as 2, and so on.
You can't move diagonally past a corner (even by taking a 5-foot step). You can move diagonally past a creature, even an opponent.
You can also move diagonally past other impassable obstacles, such as pits."
I would be happy to reconsider.
If Jonhilda (or others) would like to re-do their turn based on this, that works for me.

Away for the long weekend.

While I like Roll20, the dynamic light needs some real work. It should leave the map pieces that were already discovered, as greyed out, but visible, and then reveal any tokens etc, only if the light warrants.
Take a look at syncrpg. They have it really well done. Hidden and blacked out till you move in the area, but then just greyed out when there's no light source/vision in play. they're still in beta, but they're really solid. They use a modified maptools platform. SynRpg link
That is interesting, but how well does it support an external map? It seems like you have to get stuff from their internal catelog...
In the mean time, I can drop lights in rooms you've already been through...

I believe you can upload a map. I can ask the dev.
Please do as it does look like a cool system.

I've asked Joe about use with PbP games. Usually he gets back to me same day.

On Wednesday July 29th when I leave for work I won't be home until August 2 due to my trip to GenCon Indy. I will post as I can during that time but it will likely be infrequent. Feel free to bot me during that time.
Wife in labor with our second child, I'm likely offline for a few days.

Wow... Best wishes, Crellan.

Marching order for this group is going to be interesting.
My thoughts are:
Front:
Torrosk
Second Rank:
Jonhie, Viniana
Back Rank:
Ravin, Radavek
My reasonings are this:
Torrosk is built to be a tank, and can hopefully either take the first wave, or heal through some of it. The second rank are the healing and cannon, and that gives protection to Jonhie and Viniana, and also alows Viniana to be able to heal all ranks. Ravin and Radavek in the rear gives us some protection in back, and with the Barbs movement bonus, he can rush to the front quickly, if needed.
Those are just quick thoughts, and I'm sure there are other viable orders as well.

Or that works as well. Also puts me in a position to try and attack things with my glaive, not that I'm likely to hit, but crit happens.

Good call on marching order.

The map is now completely black for me.
Scroll right. If that doesn't work, let me know please.
Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4
scrolling right worked for me.
At hospital with new baby arriving! May be a day or two...
Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4
Will be out of town and away from Internet until Monday the 31.
Feel free to bot me, as needed.
Apologies for the short notice (I've only known for sure about 20 or 21 hours myself.)

Best of luck, and take your time. I know when ours was born it was several days before I even though about posting again, and then a day or two before my addled brain made intelligent posts ;)
As the saying goes: "Mom and Baby are doing fine. Dad is a complete wreck." :D
Will be in and out... everything is going remarkably well except for a lack of sleep. ;-)
Yay for the "going remarkably well" bit, at least. ;)
Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4
Ditto. It is good to hear that everything is going well.
Is this your first, Crellan? And would you like a bit of advice from someone who is long out of that game?
We have a five year old boy as well as our newborn daughter. He is really great with her and keeps saying that it is his job to protect her. Too cute.
Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4
NIce. THe kid's got good instincts.

A little Paladin in the making? :D
Will be traveling much of this week and dealing with some stuff my 5 year old's school. Hope to get an update soon.
I'll be out of town this weekend -- starting tomorrow, and until Monday.
