Unfortunately, it appears the GM has disappeared again, since it's been a few weeks without a word or update. Respectfully, I don't have much faith that this game will get any further into the AP as this is the second go around and we're back to no posts.
GM, hope you are well. I am withdrawing Rileth from the game because these long gaps of silence and disappearances do not make for an effective and fun game. I can understand being busy or other real life factors coming into play, but I do hope that a GM would notify their players if they're not going to be on the board, and, when they should expect to resume.
Thanks for initially accepting Rileth into the game. It's an AP I really wanted to play. I wish everyone the best of luck. If the GM sees this, please inactivate my Rileth id from the game, as I may try to recycle her in future. Thank you. :)
Hello? It's been some time since the GM's last post in combat or on discussion. Respectfully, these long lags with no posts or communication as to the reasons for lack of posting are becoming more frustrating, especially since the game died once before because of this reason. If people aren't interested in it anymore (due to other distractions - reading the prior comments on the discussion board), then is there a reason to continue on? I hope you're okay, GM, and you aren't off the boards for anything serious. Yet, the players on the board don't know what is going on with the game. Thanks kindly.
GM Runelord, your NPCs, X and Shalelu, go before Rileth in initiative order, so we're currently waiting on you. Is the cougar dead after Perri's and Red's attacks?
GM Runelord, if you wish to do individual initiative, can there be a rule that if a player doesn't post within a certain time on their turn, then they are botted so the game doesn't come to a standstill? If a player isn't going to be around for more than a day, then it would be good if they communicate on discussion just letting people know. I do hope Esmerelda's player is okay (and she's just busy), but it's been days with nothing on the board from her or you. For this reason, I've always been a fan of group initiative in games as it doesn't bog down combat. Thanks.
Thanks for the clarification, The Runelord. :) Just for future reference - I have Uncanny Dodge noted under my alias token with the other pertinent stats.
Round 1:
Rileth attempted to put down the wounded, yet still threatening, cougar which had attempted to bite her, even with the new threat to the north. GM, I can't see the goblin enemy token on the map on Roll20?
Since the bite attack didn’t connect, Ri isn’t prone as trip can only work if the attack hits, which it didn’t. Still waiting on the GM to clarify, however.
As Red and Perri agreed on allowing the goblin dogs to live, which worried Rileth somewhat yet not enough to argue the point at this time, Rileth stepped carefully and quietly around the dogs, following Red in front, hoping the goblin dogs would not pick up their scent as they passed.
Seeing Red elect to take the west tunnel, Rileth moved in behind him and moved as quietly as she could, keeping her eyes and ears open for signs of threat.
"I was merely curious to know what the goblins were dragging and whether it was worth investigating and resolving first. However, if you all wish to head north immediately, then so be it," Rileth responded without looking at Perri.
She had gotten caught on a briar or two even as she walked crouched low. When they emerged into a cave-like chamber, Rileth drew to her full height and stretched, seeing the extent of any injury caused by the thorny stems. The echo of the waves caught her attention until Esmeralda spoke. "I do not wish to contradict your choice, Esmerelda, but what of the trail to the north - where something large has been dragged? Should that not warrant investigation? Have you a reason for investigating west?"
Rileth's brow furrowed as she contemplated the sharp thorns. "If we brush up against those sharp thorns, we will certainly be injured unless one is wearing gauntlets or heavy armour. Of which I have neither. They're damp from the morning fog, so we cannot burn them. Does anyone have an idea as to how to move through them without injury?"
As the elven bard continued to ponder the problem of the thorns, Esmeralda started her incantation to bind them to her so she could provide healing from a distance. "Thank you, Esmerelda," noting to memory to keep within the necessary distance.

There are three directions for you to go once you enter the hedge maze: east, up the middle, or west. Which way?
Rileth's eyes keenly appraised the three paths through the hedge maze, hoping to see the one which would be less hazardous (and not as arduous) than the others.
Perception to determine best path forward:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 Know. Geography to determine best path forward:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Ri doesn't have Survival to figure this kind of stuff out. Anyone who does could try the check, please?
I'm okay with the marching order... even though Ri has the lowest AC in the party, she can look out for traps etc upfront, I suppose. Why is Red not taking the lead now he's taken a dip into ranger it seems fitting, with Ri directly behind him, looking out for traps etc?
Runelord: I'm a little confused from the description what this hedge maze looks like. At first I thought it would be too overgrown/dense to move through, but is there enough space for us to move through carefully (crouching?) single file? Sorry, I'm a visual person and pictures help me more than general narrative.
Rileth assessed the briars/thistles, hoping to see a safer way to move through, without too much injury, and any pending danger via traps.
Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11(Well, that was sucky.)
The Sheriff smiles, "Great news. I will have my patrols on guard in case any goblins get past you and will try to cave in that secret tunnel. We've all got our orders. Let's move, people."
"Alright. I am ready to leave," Rîleth responded to the Sheriff, hoping her statement was entirely true and she had what she needed in their mission against Ripnugget and the Thistletop goblins.
Looking to the elder Elven ranger, she added, "Please lead us forward, Mistress Shalelu," understanding they would be taking the Lost Coast Road east to the Thistle River.
Shadow_Fox: I've finally locked in my new feat as I was going back and forth between two. Just wanted to let you know before we get started on this next part. :)
"To reach the Thistletop goblins, we would take the Lost Coast Road east to the Thistle River —it’s only a 6-mile journey (2 hours by foot). Is that the plan, heroes?"
Rîleth looked around at Perri and Red and then returned her attention to the Elven ranger. "It is as good a plan as any," silently pondering the capabilities of the Thistletop goblins and their leader Ripnugget. "And, although I prefer to fight in close quarters with my fine rapier, I have a bow when necessary."
Looking back at her original companions and then to the two new females, "When do we leave?"(It's currently morning in game, I know that much. So, there is time to travel by foot, if we choose to...)
"...Bruthazmus has a particular hatred of elves, and we have fought on several occasions. To date, neither of us has managed to get the upper hand on the other, but I vow I will end him first, unless one of you beats me to it. This last one, Malfeshnekor, I have never heard of."
Rîleth caught Perri's glance and added quietly, but loud enough that people around her could hear, "Well, I suppose he'll be adding me to his hate list, too. It is good to know this and plan for it in advance, if we cross paths with this Bruthazmus."
At Perri's question, Rîleth was keenly interested in hearing the answer. With Shel's departure from the group and with her the halfling's particular talent for trap finding and disabling, it was now her responsibility for such things and Rîleth hoped she was up to the task and would not let her companions down.
"I am pleased to introduce you to Shalelu Andosana, an unofficial member of Sandpoint’s town guard..." The elf smirks at her introduction. Hemlock continues, looking at the pretty halfling, "And Esmerelda Skyleaf, healer extraordinaire and devotee of Shelyn." The Sheriff points to the party, "Ladies, I present to you Sandpoint’s newest crop of goblin-slayers. I reckon we all have much to discuss.”
After showing the sheriff's Tsuto's diary, Rîleth retrieved the book for it could still be useful to them on their next undertaking. She stowed it carefully inside her pack.
No sooner had they bid farewell to Shel, but they were meeting two new females in the sheriff's office. During the course of her four months living in Sandpoint, Rîleth had yet to meet the legendary and mysterious Shalelu Andosana. She inclined her head respectfully to the elder Elven woman, "It is good to finally meet you, Mistress Shalelu. Welcome back to town." Then, Rîleth turned her gaze to the pretty halfling and addressed her, "Well met, Mistress Esmerelda. Your talents in the healing arts will be quite beneficial to the good folk, here." Looking from Elf to Halfling, she added, "I am Rîleth Mithrandir, a scholar of the ancients and explorer, now goblin-slayer," mildly uncomfortable with the last epithet.
Perri wrote:
"I take it there's been more going on than just the assault here?"
Upon Perri's serious question, Rîleth refocused her attention on the business at hand and awaited the Elf Shalelu's reply with keen interest.
All of your purchases are available, Ri. As for your healing, one of Ameiko's representatives is outside awaiting your party when you leave the Glassworks. She approaches you and advises you that all of your healing expenses will be taken care of, so the party is fully healed and lesser restored at no expense to any of you, courtesy of Ameiko, as thanks for saving her life. So no gold spent on healing - you all have full hps with no status effects.
Thanks, GM!
@Perri: Ri will lend you some money to get the armour you really want. No worries.
For now, Rileth will sell her studded leather armour (receiving 15 gp) sell her rapier (receiving 12 gp), selling her dagger (receiving 1 gp), selling her common backpack (receiving 1 gp) and will purchase a MW Chainshirt (250 gp), MW Buckler (155 gp), MW Rapier (320 gp) and MW Dagger (302 gp), MW Backpack (50 gp). She has 806 gp & 7 sp remaining coin for later pruchases.
From the sale of the unclaimed loot items, we each received 1740 gp. From the coins, we each get 12 gp & 2 pp.
So each party member gets: 2 pp and 1752 gp (1740+12).
That leaves 2 gp & 2 pp in the "group" kitty - this can cover group items or other incidentals the party may need.

I think Perri may have been waiting on a response from you regarding the below, during his shopping:
Perri wrote:
Which, if one is ruled available, would allow Perri to pick up a MW Darkwood Str (+2) Composite Longbow, more arrows, and probably improve his armor, too.
Will he be able to find such a bow in this small town? Once he knows this, we can certainly move forward and introduce the new player. Thanks! :)
Then we sell the dagger with the other items we wish to sell.
Red, do you wish to claim the two CLW potions? The rest of us can cast healing spells.
Ring is already going to Red, so no issue there.
I'll leave the bow for the GM to describe etc and we can make a decision from there.
Rileth will take both scrolls (she already claimed the Flaming Sphere scroll in game before our break). She can also take the wand, unless the group wants to sell it.
* If we sell all the remaining/unclaimed items (sans the bow), we will get 6960 gp. Divided by 4 this means we get 1740 gp each from the sale.
I was thinking that perhaps we should give Ameiko her late brother's bow? It just seems more respectful, even with their strained relationship.
So, Ri won't claim the bow and quiver. I have a question regarding the cold iron returning dagger - GM, is the weapon tiny size as the quasit was wielding it? If so, then it really wouldn't be suitable for any of us....Can you please clarify?
Red, if you want the ring, then Ri won't stand in your way. :)
Perri, did you want to hold the 2 CLW potions or would you rather have Rileth hold them?

Regarding the coin: We each get 12 gp & 2 pp. (I gave Shel her share as she hasn't left us in game as yet. This leaves 2 gp and 2 pp in the group kitty for group incidentals? Or we can give the remaining coin to the new party member?)
I put together a simple loot list for people to use to make it easier to track our treasure and distribution.
I think everyone can add/edit it (please let me know if you have trouble with this). If someone wishes to claim something, you can add your name to the item. I also put a drop down box in if we have used/expended the item (such as potions for eg) or we sell it and divide the coin.
Perri, Rileth has the quiver with the 20 arrows. However, she'll share half with you to replace the ones you've used. That is 10 arrows each. I'll note it on her sheet.
Ri has claimed Tsuto's +1 Composite Shortbow and quiver with 20 arrows. She also has the Scroll of Flaming Sphere.
The masterwork thieves' tools were claimed by Shel, but since her player is no longer continuing in game, Ri would like to claim those now that she will be disabling devices in Shel's absence. I hope that's okay.
Where do you stand on the matter of Archaeologist's Luck rounds increasing per the rule of Bardic Performance having 2 additional rounds/day each level after first?
I know some GMs house rule this matter. Technically, Archaeologist’s Luck is treated as bardic performance for the purposes of feats, abilities, effects, and the like that affect bardic performance, however they do not gain the bardic performance ability or any of its performance types. Currently I have left it at 5 rounds/day (4+1 CHA modifier) without increasing it (and with the luck bonus on attacks increasing to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 11th level, and +4 at 17th level).
Just want to make sure I have the right number of rounds for your game without assuming I can just increase the rounds per level like some people do in my other games.
Hi, Esmerelda. Welcome to the game. :) Having some more/dedicated healing is certainly a boon and will ease the pressure off our warpriest, Perri. Also, at least for now, Perri will be able to understand your Celestial in combat (and he may be able to translate when/where necessary), so it isn't too bad. I'm sure Rileth will help to keep Esmerelda safe. Next level, I can have Ri take a rank in Linguistics and pick up Celestial. Looking forward to playing alongside you, as well.
Shadow_Fox, I'm good with continuing on, if the others wish to. I think I might want to change Rileth's levelling class and possibly stick with bard (archaeologist) rather than multi-classing, if this is doable? At 3rd level, Rileth gains trap sense as the rogue class feature and she already has disable device. If I give her common thieves tools then she can handle traps and such on behalf of the party. (Rileth doesn't have enough coin for the m/w thieves tools. She can, however, sell her shortbow as she has Tsuto's +1 composite shortbow and she'll have enough to buy the tools.)
Glad to hear you’re doing well now, Shadow_Fox GM. I’m willing to continue on with the game. I’ll just have to familiarise myself with my character, again. I’ll wait to hear what the others have to say. :)
I hope everyone's doing okay - Perri hope your daughter is doing better/well. It's been quiet in game this past week, so I thought I'd check in.
Just a courtesy heads-up, I'll be off the boards from 22nd April to the 25th April (northern hemisphere: 21st-24th April) as hubby is taking me on a short milestone birthday holiday. I'll return to posting from the 26th. Thanks. :)
Rileth stepped into the room and immediately felt the weightlessness as she lifted into the air; floating near Shel.
She moved cautiously nearer to the strange metal-sheeted walls with the black electricity and runes and studied them.

Once the party had searched/investigated what it could in the chamber, Rileth followed the others out of the Glassworks and to the Sheriff's office to relay what they had discovered.
Once the Sheriff was informed, Rileth moved to the blacksmith (or anyone in town who deals with weapons/bows) to sell her general shortbow and then to the temple to receive some healing for her remaining wounds and damage to her dexerity.
Diplomacy to sell her original shortbow:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Diplomacy to get some healing from the church/town healers:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
(Rileth will also wants to purchase some masterwork thieves tools once she has more coin in her pocket (at this time I have no idea how we've split the coin we've discovered thus far or what we want to sell out of the items found) to better aid Shel as Ri has Disable Device and the ability to disable intricate and complex devices in half the time and open a lock as a standard action.)
Rileth has all the knowledge skills and can make them untrained. I'll be having her take more levels in Bard as she progresses and adding to the knowledge skill ranks. Having someone who can back up/bolster the knowledge skills in game is good; however saying we're sorely lacking isn't necessarily so in my opinion. If Shel thinks a dip into wizard/sorcerer would be fun to play, then I'm all for it. I just don't want her player thinking they have to go down that route.
Rileth ensured all the wooden covers were firmly in place over the eleven pits - the town's priests would be able to put them down when the time came. Hopefully there were no hidden enemies which would release the zombies as they continued searching the south passage.
"The greatsword suits you well, Red. I cannot make use of this finely crafted handaxe. Whoever can, should claim it."
Looking to their Halfling companion, "You did well with those daggers, Shel. Will you lead us down the south passage?"
Rileth moved closer and discreetly to the entrance to the passageway and when it was her turn (she'll move in after Red and Shel), stepped into the passageway and gauged the situation - moving quietly as she could, rapier in hand.
Perception to notice/hear possible threats:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 Stealth to move quietly with dex penalty included:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
