Congrats to the lucky few!

ONE MORE DAY!!!! *trying not to squeak/explode*

*clears throat and composes self in a manly fashion*

Er I mean to say, I'm pretty excited as well.

Well, I say finished...but there's always another detail to fill out...or question to ask.

Will we be using the Achievement Feats from the Player's Guide? I'm particularly interested in History of Scars (take 1000 points of damage, gain +2 Nat Armor) and somewhat interested in All Gnolls Must Die (kill 20 gnoll/gnoll like creatures, gain +2 Will save and hit/weapon damage against gnolls/gnoll like creatures)

Applying with my friend Qualin here, and his associate Mayze.

Still working on the background and looking at the player's guide, but I have a question that'll sway things a little. Would Perform work as one of the bonus background skills?

Fraust here, double posting cuz I'm cool like that. This is the profile of a Medium I've been tinkering with today.

Might throw together a Mesmerist too, especially if anyone else has their heart set on playing a Medium.

Sorry to say but I'm not going to be continuing. Hopefully this continues, as it looks like everyone is having a blast, I've just got too many other obligations at the moment.

"Well, sorry ol' Fox, duty calls." Qualin says with a grin before following the sherif out.

This is 120 gold atop Aldern's 12 platinum?

Glad to hear about the extra spotlight time...I thought both he and Ironbriar deserved more attention. It'll be interesting to see what Mr. Jacobs comes up with.

On the subject of local "color" "There is much to see in this quaint little town, a good deal more than I expected upon my arival, though I will say you seem to have picked up on the most striking view. As is your tendency."

A little rufled at the implication of poverty Qualin strongly considers finding a civil way to refuse the coin...But the truth of his situation isn't so easily ignored. "Aye, should keep me in a good spirits for a day or two longer." He says with forced mirth.

Turning to Boiko..."No, can't say that I've had many days with goblins coming out of the drains back in Magnimar, but I was in Khorvosa for a heavy rain that sent a true hord of spiders scurrying from every pipe, sink, and chamberpot in the city!"

"Well, first time or the hundreth...Rohan was it?...Either way, I'm glad you were out there my man."

"It's been an age and a half sense I was on a hunt! That sounds briliiant Aldern. I'll see about getting a dollup of the finest whiskey our beautiful host here has, and we'll make a true event of it!" Qualin will look for a moment to catch Ameiko when she's not busy, but isn't expecting it to happen any time soon.

Qualin waves to Aldren as he enters, but seeing his friends obvious distress he decides to give the nobleman a moment to put his affairs in order.

"Gratis!" He says by way of thanks to Rohan. "You handled yourself briliantly out there my new friend. Have you experience going to war with greenskin?"

"Only good goblin's a dead goblin, and the best is one who takes one of his mates to the abyss with him! Qualin quotes a saying he's heard caravan guards and the like repeat...in an attempt to get further on the man's good side. Upon walking into the stables however, he's more than a little off put by the gruesome spectacle. "Oh well, you surely are...committed aren't you?" He says with a grimace thankfully hidden behind his mask.

Nodding his thanks as the rewards are distributed he makes his way out of the stables and continues on to the Dragon.

A little busy with class at the moment, sorry I got behind.

Qualin tilts his masked head as his recent companions follow the sherif into Sandpoint's violated graveyard..."But the drink and all the women are back in town..." Reluctantly he follows.

Nodding to the sherif when names are asked for "Qualin of Magnimar."

As the group splits up he will head back to the inn he'd been staying at (I believe the White Deer), looking for any members of the group and buying them a drink if he sees any, or chatting up whoever is in the bar if not. -5sp for tonight's rent, plus another -5sp for drinks

"Foxglove! By the gods man, if you'd shown up like you told me we'd be passed out drunk by now, not filthy and sweating." Qualin exclaims, slapping the man's back in the embrace.

"I'd introduce you to my friends here, but other than their bravery in answering the call of battle when needed, I'm afraid I don't know much about them." At Rohan's self introduction Qualin gives a bow, "I am Qualin Lyir, once a son of Magnimar, and now an explorer of the world at large." He notes his friends eyeing of the lass and tries hard not to roll eyes. Ever the eye for the ladies ol' Fox. He thinks to himself, recalling past conquests and competition with his old friend.

Qualin will move out of hiding and go after one of the goblins attacking Lohrgan. If he can move into a flanking position he will, even if it provokes an AoO.

MW Club: 1d20 ⇒ 15+2 if flanking
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5+1d6 ⇒ 2 Sneak Attack if flanking

Down Time
Qualin will quickly attempt to retrieve his daggers...
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Surprise Round
Having gotten the drop on this back of maniacs Qualin darts to the building for cover, hoping to catch any who charge toward his new companions unaware...

Qualin moves 20' to the left, attempting to hide next to the building.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Crap, my bad

Qualin moves down and to the right 30', ending his move with two squares below the corpse of goblin VI, drawing a second dagger as he goes. If able he tosses the blade at the other whip wielding wretch...
Dagger attack: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (12) - 4 = 8
3 range incriments, not sure if he is the area of bless any longer.

I'm good with the dagger toss for my round 2 action.

Sorry about that, got caught up at school straightening out conflicting classes and didn't get to check my games.

"My guess is the guards were caught up in the festivities. Happens in sleepy towns like this. Made use of the opportunity pleanty of times myself, but never for anything..." Qualin jestures around himself, eyes falling on the injured girl. "This crass. Aye, not sure how capeable I am in a fight, but I'll do what I can to end the lives of these wretched things."

Darting through the crowd Qualin spies a goblin with it's attention on mayham and terror...

Round 1, HP: 7/7, AC: 15
Qualin moves up and to the left, stopping in the square just down from goblin IV, using 25', and makes an attack with his dagger.
Dagger attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Splitting his attention between searching for his old friend, appreciating the colorful sites (particularly those of the fairer sex), and brooding over his distant troubles, Qualin meanders his way about the festivities. He spends a few moments watching the impressive swordsmanship between elf and shoanti bladesmen, but nothing else catches his eye for long.

Finding his way near the church as Father Zantus is taking the stage, Qualin finds a relatively clear spot amongst the locals and prepares for what is likely to be a dull sermon. Rather than waste his time with the speach, he uses the opportunity to scan the gathered crowd for signs of Aldern...and instead spies a flash of green.

Hearing the screams and the beginnings of the song Qualin curses aloud. "This was supposed to be a reprieve..." He says while drawing his dagger.

Surprise Round
Qualin is readying his dagger and attempting to get a better idea of what's going on. The goblins are the things in the upper right? I'm working with a smallish screen, so it's hard to tell.

I picked Rich Parents as the other trait, just forgot to fill it out on the sheet, my bad.

I'm still around, just a little busier than I thought I'd be getting moved back into my appartment. Tonight I'll make sure to get something up. Mostly I've just been reading through the other things people are doing, so I'll probably just have Qualin walk around the festival and watch things. I like the idea of the festival games and playing that part out, but I'm not seeing much that I wanted to interact with.

Qualin heads out of the Rusty Dragon, having broken his fast with a savory slab of ham, hashed potatoes, and a strong tea. The meal was satisfying, he would even go so far as pleasing, but nothing could feel the void of good imported Kalish coffee. Ah well, "no sense wasting time wishing for what can eventually be bought," He reminds himself of a saying his father was fond of repeating. Putting thoughts of his father behind him for the moment, Qualin dons his silver mask and makes his way down to the common area of the Dragon. There he makes some inquiries about an old friend who should be here about, but comes up empty handed.

"Where are you ol' Fox, this is far from a good time to be tardy my friend... he mutters to himself while walking to the main square.

Akrem brought up a good point with initiative. One thing I've seen used, beside the GM rolling initiative, is saves also. Seemed to work pretty good. When I was running a game I did a lot of the background type checks, instead of having people roll initiative when they walked into somewhere, I'd go ahead and roll it, and just spoiler different description for different people. Just throwing out ideas.

Personally I found that leveling when the GM says so works best, for a couple reasons. Less guesswork/math on the part of the GM, and less of the "thought you'd be higher before fighting the BBEG, so right before you storm the castle, you get attacked by something easily killed to get those last few hundred xp!". Also, it lowers the desire of the players to feel compelled to scour every nook and cranny of a location for anything and everything to kill, so as not to miss a single xp...I love the Carrion Crown game that I'm involved in, but I felt a few times going through the first dungeon we were looking for minor monsters to kill so we'd be high enough to take on the main guys, when, at least in my opinion, it would have made more sense to go in and whack the head off the snake and let all the minor guys run out of evil gass...but I digress...

At the end of the day, I'm good with just about anything.

Also, I'll go ahead and stick with rogue(eventual wizard, eventual arcane trickster) as opposed to bard. Qualin has some social ability as is, and with the Missing Parent trait, has a reasonable Intimidate and Sense Motive, even though his charisma and wisdom aren't prime attributes. I kinda see him as acting sort of the bully when he thinks he can get away with it. He'll size someone up in a social situation, and if he can use his class(social, not character) to strong arm someone into making a deal, super...if not, he can negotiate and diplomate. Think semi-pushy retail salesman, rather than sleazy and offensive door to door vacuum salesman (didn't plan it that way, but I've actually at least tried to do both in real life...)

EDIT: I through together some words to give both a little bit of background and some personality for Qualin, on his profile sheet. I took liberties with my knowledge of things...if I crossed any lines let me know and I'll edit. Just saw some fun threads with the trait description and wanted to see what they looked like with a bit of tying...

Well, I originally proposed a bard, and went rogue as I was one of three. Last I checked, none of us actually ended up as a bard, so I'd be down for switching back to the original idea, which would give us a face, and someone who can throw out a few cure spells here and there.

Flikr handle is GMFraust

Were I to apprentice under Psionic Fox/Valeria would I need to also be a Thassilon specialist, and if so would I need to specialize in the same school? Not an issue either way, just curious. Regardless, I think learning from another party member (rather than just sprouting magical abilities at random) is a very cool idea. I'm thinking of going three levels of rogue before picking up wizard, so 4th level is the loose plan.

As for dedicated blaster, I'm with martinaj. Especially with six people I think we'll be alright. As we go up I would look into (and plan on doing likewise) getting some scrolls and maybe wands to cover area damage.

I'll check into the Flkr thing...might actually have an account and just not know it. Glad we decided to do maps. I'm in (dropping) one game with no maps and it's terribly frustrating. If the privacy/copywrite thing works out, that's awesome. Exactly what I been looking for to get my own PbP game back up and running.

I'm thinking "rich parents" as my non campaign trait. I know some people have issue with it, so I just wanted to check before I assumed. Not sure what all I'll spend it on, beyond a master work club (read ornate walking cane), but it just seemed to fit.

This'll be the alias my character will end up on. Going to try and get at least basics up after I hit "submit", but we'll see how it goes. You're ok with prestige classes correct? If so, I'm happy to go rogue and eventually arcane trickster.

"Open homes I said, it's an expression my father taught me. A man's mind is his most sacred home, and hearing someone elses voice inside mine is a touch anoying. The expression comes from the invasion of privacy." Though his mask hides it, you can hear a smile in Qualin's words. "Looks like our services are needed yet again my friends. Anything needing attending before we begin our next adventure?"

Kinda waiting on signs of life here before I allocate time from studying to finishing the character.

"Bloody gnomes..." Qualin hisses under his breath when the message ends. Swallowing down the last of his ale and dropping a silver on the table the warrior stands. "Looks like our moment of peace is at its end."

dotting.

He's not finished yet, but here is Qualin, a fifth level magus.

It's been a while sense I looked much at Eberron, so I'm still working on the background.

I'm submitting Qualin for this campaign. The profile isn't completely finished, but I can get the rest done quickly enough. Apparently we're celebrating my birthday today, so my plans of laying about all day has been shot to hell and back.

Background wise, I'm thinking Qualin will come from Korvosa, the son of two magic practicioners who really wanted him to join the Acadamae. He probably did the equivalent of one semester and bailed. He likes arcane magic well enough, he's just young and a little light on patience right now. I don't know if Sandru's caravan would have made it to Korvosa, and if not Qualin could have ran into them somewhere else and hired on. I see him and Sandru developing a good friendship, as they both have family issues.

Once in Sandpoint he'd probably develope a bit of a crush on Shalelu and or Ameiko, though obviously not enough for the trait. He's got a thing for armed and independent women.

As far as party roll, I'm going for a switch hitter type, so he can send some missile weapons into the enemies if range permits, and then get up close. Most of his spells are going to be self buffs.

Any questions, feel free, I'll be checking back as often as time permits.

One question I had, was how much gold are we doing?

1. Why are you in Westcrown?

in character:
"This isn't just a place I lay my head at night my boy, this city and I are one. There is simply no other center of civilization that could frame my greatness quite like Westcrown. What once was the height of nobility, beautiful and pure, now roughed and scuffed on the edges, but wise with it's years. That is me, and that is my city.

out of character:
Born in Westcrown, Qualin's view of the world outside his city is limited to what he has learned by watching those who come here from the rest of the world. He plays the part of the welcoming diplomat, a cultured man who knows the world, but in truth he cares little for anything outside Westcrown that isn't a minted coin.

2. Given a chance would you hurl down the ruling houses and take their place? Or create a new form of government?

in character:
"Hah! Now wouldn't that be something, not that watching those nose in the air folk fall face first in the gutter to loose teeth wouldn't be grand enough, but to be the gent that gave em a shove? Well now, that's something to give a ponder to."

out of character:
Yes, yes he would, in a heart beat, and probably only charge 90% for admission. Not that he cares one way or another about making the world a better place, but to see those above him fall below, to watch the chaos that would ensue, and most importantly, to send an attack in the general direction of those who charge TAXES...yeah, he'd be down for that.

3. What will you be able to contribute to the group?

in character:
"Flare, pizaz, style, and a touch of wisdom that comes with living on these streets. Included in that wisdom is the sense to get behind something innocently brutal when words just aren't good enough to keep the hecklers at bay. You want to walk through the puddles of blood in these gutters, or you want to contribute to them with your own fluids?"

out of character:
Beyond a (hopefully) interesting character to interact with, as a summoner Qualin comes with his own pet wrecking machine, in the form of Cil, his eidolon.

4. How do you expect the character to develop roleplay wise? Mechanically?
in character:
"Where are we going with this eh? You want to pick my brains, have fun waiting for someone to get one over on me and try your hand at getting my corpse. My future is on the stage, and that stage is made up of these cobblestones we're standing on. What role I take on that stage, now there's a question worth spending breath for. The answer is whatever role needs filling. I'm a variety act, and I do what it takes to make the crowd stop and toss coins in my hat."

out of character:
Roleplay wise, I'm not sure how to answer the question as I don't know much about the campaign. I've heard a lot about good deeds and saving the city, and I think Qualin is capable of that, though his reasons are not going to be noble in the slightest. As for mechanics, he will be a buffer and hesitant secondary combatant, preferring to send Cil in to do up-close work.

5. I'm a Hellknight about to lay down some police brutality down on you...
"Listen here listen here, man in metal and unholy gear! Hold your blade of hate and rage, and listen to this gutter sage. Iron fists and heavy sword are all you've brought, to this battle field but for naught. I don't fight fair, or fight at all, when I have her to heed my call." Her being Cil.

Updated. Glad you like the concept. It really should be better written, but after having spent three days surrounded by just about every blood relative I have...I'm mentally scragged.

This is Fraust...missed the butten when I tried to post as the alias last time. So here's who I'm applying with.

Lilly wrote:

"I believe he thinks he is one of us, and get's frustrated because we can't fly".

"Heh, sometimes I get frustrated that I can't fly too. Would make my search all the more easy that I could."

Qualin takes Lilly's offered hand in a firm but not over-powering grip. His hands like the rest of him are covered well, them in calf skin riding gloves dyed a blue that matches his breezy cloak.

Lilly wrote:

"Looks like they're having a good time",She says in a lower voice, though I never can understand why they need poison in small quantities to laugh and talk together".

"Wine, rum, ale, all just lubricants for the mind and tongue, though lately I stand more to your side of the matter. The talk is rarely of much worth, and the headache afterward is a higher cost than I'd like."

He accepts the soiled sling and lodes the head.

Lilly wrote:

"I like your mask by the way". "Some of our Shaman's wear masks, but they're not...

"Thank you, it's been in my family at least one generation before I took it up. My father wore this mask at sea many years ago, and I wear it now that he might recognize it and know me, were we to cross each others paths." He says while twirling the sling...letting it go a second later sending the morsel into a high arc.

Noting the commotion amongst the others Qualin's hand instinctively goes to an empty space on his belt, as if generally a weapon hung there, correcting his grab his hand rests on the hilt of a dagger while observing the drunken elf being sent off below decks.

"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom..." He mutters to himself. "Or so we hope while traveling its ways."

"Marvelous creature you have there." The tall robed figure says to Lilly. "Cannot say as I've ever seen its like." He stands by the rail, feet wide and stable, hands resting attop a brass capped ivory tusk fashioned into a walking stick. Daggers adorn his belt, but those and the heavy cane are the only possible weapons he shows. His face is concealed behind a silver mask that though well made, bears only vague facial features.

DM Patcher...if you would rather I have a ranger/magus (begins as ranger) character I've been dying to play that was actually more created for Serpent's Skull. I'm about fifty fifty on which I'd rather play more, I put the new Ridley up as that was the character I was thinking about at the time.

Qualin is the bastard son of a pirate and a very down on her luck noble woman. Having grown up with stories of his father, once Qualin became an adult he left the illusionary life of luxory his mother desperately fought to keep, and set out to find this mythical man. He didn't have much beyond a name and small list of ships his father had worked aboard, but eventually heard a rumor his father might have been to Sargava recently.

1. Why are you on the Jenivere? Qualin hired on aboard the Jenifere after he heard she was headed to Sargava. He has no intentions of staying longer than necissary, though he's become somehwat attached to his shipmates.
2. What is your motivation to travel to Sargava? Rumor has it that Qualin's father was aboard a ship sailing to Sargava. He is excited to be so close to his goal, though his search has lasted so many years he's beginning to worry about just what to say when he finally tracks his father down.
3. What will your character contribute to the group? Melee ability as well as some support casting. Qualin is a team player who is more interested in defeating opponents through the use of tactics and teamwork, rather than hogging the glory and stealing the spotlight.
4. What are your plans for your character mechanically? Begin as ranger, level as magus afterward with an occassional additional level of ranger. Two weapon fighting and some ranged abilities. Would love to buddy up with a rogue, or similar, to flank with.
5. What are your plans for your character from a story-perspective? The search for his father is important to him, though not expected to be important to the campaign as a whole. After that particular goal is met, he will likely look for a group to aly with while he figures out what to do with the rest of his life, which will likely involve (very long term here) organizing funds to repay civilian casulties inflicted by his fathers piracy.

mechanics:

father:
The mysterious father aspect is largely there to justify some of his class abilities after attaining levels of magus. I'm going to go with the hexcrafter, bladebound, and spellblade archetypes, the first of which is mostly there to give him some voodoo themes. The Black Blade he recieves at third will be the sentient falcata his father wielded, which has been seeking the son out, just as the son sought out the father. It's goals and modivations I'll pretty much leave up to you, though if you'd rather not have one more thing to deal with, I can write something up for it. The Athame is going to be the ghostly main gouche (a sorta wide bladed fencing dagger you see in Musketeer type movies, stats as a dagger, as per the class ability) that comes to him from his father, which will likely distress Qualin a bit, as it's a pretty strong indicator his father is dead. Again, I'll give you discression in how exactly it shows up, and again offer to come up with something if you'd rather not.

As for the father himself...he's an elvin pirate, known to weild a nasty falcata, and is a fairly all around bad guy. He's a bit of a con-man/player, taking advantage of desperate women while in port, and raiding mechant vessles while on the ocean. As a player, I'm working with the assumption that the father will be dead long before Qualin catches up to him, though if you'd like to modify this feel free. Qualin likely has an idea that his father isn't the dashing rogue his mother made him out to be, but he hasn't quite figured out just how vile the man is/was either. He'll be unhappy to find out the particulars, but though he doesn't approve of the things his father did, the man was still his dad.

Funny you should mention the synthesist, as that's what I'm hoping to play as. I've read enough to know I like the concept, but haven't gone over the nuts and bolts real well yet. More than happy to discuss anything specific that needs discussing.

Here's what I have of the alias so far, to give you an idea of where I'm going with it. If you're not cool with the extremes on attributes I understand, and can make them something less min/maxy. Like I said, going for something of a lush, who's more than a little absent minded, so I figured a low wisdom was warranted, then figured his health wasn't likely to be very good, so con and str took hits (especially knowing that when he's in the eidolon that will matter much less). Needed a metric ton of knowledge skills, so int needed to be high, as does charisma being the casting attribute...so just went with it as it made sense in my head.

Still deciding exactly how I want to theme the eidolon suit. I'll try to come up with something between chunks of homework today.

GM_Chris wrote:

Besides, you heard what happened to Jack Redshirt didn't you? The guards are trying to keep it quiet, but I heard they're still haven't found all his parts."

Qualin jolts a bit at mention of a pirate sounding name. It's not the monicker I knew him by, but was it one of the man's many aliases? Curiosity getting the better of him, Qualin rises and begins making his way toward this dark skinned beauty, giving her and her companion time to speak without interrupting.

He walked with the unneeded aid of a very unique cane. Made from the ivory tusk of an exotic beast, it tapered from the it's roughly thumb sized point to it's pommel, roughly as thick as the man who was holding it's wrist, standing nearly four feet in height. It was banded in copper and bore the appearance of a weapon as well as walking stick. Beyond this he carried few arms beyond perhaps a dagger, though those who met him when he arrived in Cauldron a few weeks ago would remember seeing him well adorned with differing types of swords and several axes.

When the serving woman, as one could not tastefully call her a girl, was unoccupied, Qualin catches her notice with a nod of his silvered face. "Pardon, lady of the house, mit'aey have some moment of time with yea in regard to the man by name ah Jack Redshirt mentioned to the bladesman?"

morkoth:
Oh, I read the description of the establishment we were in, I was under the impression morkoth was a type of creature though. Wasn't sure if it was something unique to Greyhawk or if it was something you created, or just something I'd never heard of

questions:
What is a morkoth, and with the demonscarred trait Qualin will detect as evil vial detect evil right? *evil grin*

This is set in Greyhawk then?

A tall man clothed in a blue silk cloak and wearing a silver mask sat alone, his back to a wall, a gloved hand toying with the drink he had ordered hours ago and not yet sampled. Few in Cauldron knew much of him, though he had the gait and manner of a man accustom to the ocean. For now he seemed content to take meals in his room at the Morkoth and observe the locals in the common area.

"Lass," he said to a passing serving girl, his voice deep and carrying a foreign accent. "Who be the deep pocket'd lord come to make a scene?"

character stuff:
Qualin is starting off as a ranger, but will level up as a magus, likely going back and forth between the two classes to act as a front line fighter type. The plan is to use the hexcrafter, bladebound, and spellblade magus archetypes, not sure about ranger archetypes as I'm still reading. In essence, his father was a pirate who dallied up some minor noblewoman (not familiar enough with the setting to get too detailed) and has died recently (likely in or around Cauldron).

Qualin is in the city to find out the specifics, and this can play as much a part in the story as you would like...mostly what it is as far as I'm concerned is his athame and black blade, from the magus archetypes, are "inheritance" from his father, in the form of a ghostly main gauche (the athame), and a heavy bladed cutlass type weapon (the black blade) that seeks out the heir to it's former owner.

I'll type more up later, still deciding between demonscarred, or wyrmblooded. Inspiration for personality type is going to be Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York with a splash of Black Beard from Pirates of the Caribbean. Also, the mask is there to "hide" either the draconic/demonic features.

What's your thoughts on the magus? Specifically using the hexcrafter, bladebound, and spellblade archtypes? Also, what sort of post frequency are you looking for? Lastly, pirate types need aply (true neutral alignment, decidedly not evil)? This post is from the alias I would like to use, he isn't done, but can be finished quickly if accepted.

That works. I will take it as a sign I REALLY shouldn't sign up for any more, and just lurk in a few interesting looking ones.

I really shouldn't sign up for another PbP, but I've been dying to play Serpent's Skull...so if you're still accepting applications, I present Qualin Lyir. Should have him done by tonight or tomarrow. Going for something between Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York, and Black Beard in Pirates of the Caribean.

Depending on how optimized things are with the group he'll either level up as a magus from now on (if we're needing to be more optimized) or bounce back and forth between ranger and magus.

He uses three archtypes, which as far as I can tell is legal, as each archtype doesn't modify something another does, but if that's not kosher I can adjust as needed.

Going to try working on his background next, though basically he's the son of a Taldan woman who dallied with a shackles pirate. His athame and black blade are going to be inheritance from his pirate father who died recently (or did he...dun Dun DUN), in the form of a ghostly main gauche (the athame) and a sentient falcata that tracks him down to finish the goal his father died trying to complete.
