Pyros is a young member of the Aldori Swordpact, recently returned home after years abroad in Rostland training. He is more skilled than the average fighter, but mostly he's a fighter.
Backstory:
Pyros is a third generation crusader on one side of his family, second on the other. He always knew that fighting to hold back the demons was his destiny. As a boy he was amazed and enthralled by the skill of an Aldori swordsman, one who had been sent to Mendev as punishment after a failed rebellion against the Rogarvias. Young Pyros was so impressed that he asked the man to teach him, and eventually decided he would travel to Rostland and learn the ways of the Aldori for himself. Why Kenabres:
It's his hometown. Now that he's a full member of the Swordpact, he decided to return home and put his skills to use. The Worldwound is full of demons that need killing. crunch: The full crunch is in the alias. But he's a Fighter (Aldori Defender/Steelbound) VMC Magus. His sword will attain sentience at 5th and eventually be able to do some spellcasting, even. VMC Magus gives him additional magical abilities So he's sort of a magical fighter, but only a little. Enough to give him options. He's aiming for the Aldori Swordlord Prestige class.

Ok, so...I was thinking about how many Kingdom positions we have unfilled, and also about building something with an animal companion, because it fits the theme, and I had kind of a wild idea: can I take Leadership or Monstrous Companion and have an Awakened Animal cohort? It would be useful enough as a flank buddy in combat (though likely actually less capable than a normal AC, given that it wouldn't get all the bonuses an AC does), and it could also fill one of the kingdom roles. After all, who would expect that the unremarkable stray dog that wanders the capital's streets is actually the kingdom's Spymaster? Having a talking animal on the High Council feels like it fits the Druidic Realm theme too. Thoughts, Questions, Comments? Edit: I know that at some point Leadership would give other low-level followers, they can be just, like, notional bureaucrats in whatever department I'm heading or something. I'm not worried about them.
So after thinking it over, I think I'm going to go a different way. I like the Druidic Realm vibe y'all have going on and Pyros doesn't really fit that. So...what does the party need, and what Kingdom roles are open? Not saying I'm open to absolutely anything, but I'll try to build something I like that fills a need. Probably something more nature focused like a Hunter, Ranger, Druid, etc, though trying not to overlap with what the party already has any more than I have to.

Hey folks. I’ve recently gone back to school, flight school. I’m hoping to be an airline pilot in a few years. I knew it would take a lot of commitment, but now that it’s underway I realize the commitment is going to be significantly more than I even realized. As much as I enjoy it, I’m not going to have time for gaming for a while. Maybe I can come back in a year or so when I’m done training and just trying to build up my hours. (I’m not asking you to hold a spot for me, to be clear), but for now I have to step away. It’s been fun, and I’ll miss it, but real life has to come first. I want this career, and in the short term that’s going to require some sacrifices. Hope I see y’all around some time. Best of luck, and happy gaming. This is one I especially hate to leave because of the larger role my character has. If y’all want him to step back and rule in the background as an NPC I’m good with that. But if not I totally get it.
Pyros sighs and shakes his head at Reg’s manner. He then steps forward to speak with the traveler. ”Ours is a new and growing town, and we’ve yet to set up heralds to announce famous visitors, much less the sort of outriders who might know by sight the names and reputations of renowned foreign personages such as yourself., and relay news of your coming to town in time for us to arrange a reception.” he says, not quite bowing, but inclining his head to Narthropple. ”I do hope that when next you travel this way we will have had the time and prosperity to grow into the sort of city which can afford such services.”
Pyros leans into it, giving it all he can.
"Faerin, any chance you could calm those other horses?" PYros shouts, in between grunts of effort as he tries to keep the wagon from washing away.
Pyros wants to go after Tartuccio, but he only allows himself one last glare in the kobold's direction before moving to help the gnomes instead.
Pyros attempts to hack and slash his way through the kobolds.
Milani guide my arm Pyros thinks, drawing his sword. While no words echo in his mind, he feels a sudden surety that he has been heard. As he pushes into the water, he feels the blade surge with power, and it begins to shine. As he reaches the first kobold, he swings his blade.
Pyros nods, and takes off after Ekun and the gnome with little more than a "Let's go!"
I'm going on vacation starting today. I'll have my phone, but posting will probably be limited until thursday.
"Yes, I'd forgotten that she was. I'll ask next time I see her."
"As much a pleasure to you as your company was to us, I hope." Pyros says, with a smile.
Pyros glances at the man with no particular interest. "Yes, well. Weeks ago there was nothing here but some bandit shacks. Even Aroden couldn't build Absalom in a day, and I'm no Aroden."
Still here. The Ring and Cloak are both upgrades from the +1 I have currently, and I don't have an amulet. So any of those would work for me. But that's going to be the case for everyone, I suspect.
Yes, I think that is the best idea." Pyros says.
Pyros thinks for a bit before answering. "I don't particularly like the idea of experimenting on sentient beings. Even trolls. But, well, I do understand the value in these experiments, and the menace trolls pose. Furthermore, Bartholomew is correct that he has broken no laws, at least as far as I am aware. And he is correct that this isolated spot is a better venue for such things. We came to him, it isn't as though he set up shop in the square at Stag's End. Bartholomew, I'm not going to stop you. But if you wish in the future to expand your experiments beyond trolls, please discuss it with us first." he turns to Octavia. "Octavia, could you serve as the point of contact for that? Such magical experiments would seem to fall within your area of expertise." After a pause, he turns back to Bartholomew. "Also, please do keep her informed of anything you learn."
Pyros nods absently as Octavia speaks, but his eyes are on the troll.
Pyros takes the key with a nod, and turns to the others. "Indeed, Valerie. To the barn."
"Indeed. He sounds like a valuable ally to have."
Stepping up next to Valerie, Pyros smiles at the man. "No harm done, friend. As is said in these parts, 'Say what you will, I live free.' I certainly do agree that more could be done, which is why I'm out here doing it! Alas, I can only be so many places at once. For the moment, why don't you walk this road with us? I believe we were heading back to the capitol ourselves."
Thoughts on the items? I'm thinking Amiri should hang on to the Trollreaper, at least until the trolls are dealt with. Or Valerie could use it, but she'd have to put the shield aside. I don't want to hog all the good stuff, but I'd trade my Explorer's Belt for the Belt of Physical Perfection in a heartbeat. The only other stuff there I'd get any use out of are the amulet and, I guess the crossbow.
"Well, I'm certainly warier of the two near the capitol at the moment, though I'd hazard a guess that the one far to the south is more likely to be their headquarters."
"Yes, that's curious."
"Intense is right." Pyros says, cleaning his sword and sheathing it, before looking around. "Let's heal up as much as we can. Right after we make sure these trolls are finished." Once he's patched back up, and the trolls are definitely dead, Pyros helps the others search the trolls for anything useful.
Clutching a hand to his side, Pyros continues to slash at the troll, while calling out "Healing would be nice if there's any handy!"
Pyros steps forward and continues to attack the same troll.
Pyros bounds lightly over the downed troll and attacks the next one in line.
"Oof!" Pyros says as the troll tears into him. Mistakes were made. Not that I could've done anything else... Having no better options, he shifts right and keeps attacking.
Pyros follows Valerie into close combat, drawing his sword and feeling the holy power surge in it as he goes.

[ooc]I'm not sure you can charge down that cliff, it requires a climb check. One they come around the long way (or climb the cliff) and you have a clear lane, feel free. I might be right behind you.[ooc]
As they prepare, Pyros quietly prays to Milani for her aid. As he gets up to head toward the cliff, he activates his armor's barkskin spell and readies his longbow. "Make them come to us. he says, before taking a shot at the same one Octavia attacks.
"I was going to say that eliminating the leader might have a disproportionate effect on the others-cut off the head and the body dies." He pauses, then shakes his head ruefully "But I guess that's not true of trolls, is it? Lets try to nail one at a time, that'll be more effective than spreading our attacks out."
Sorry! Catching up now.
"It could be that they were hurt by them, just not killed. But even so...do we have acid with us?" Pyros asks, glancing around the others.
Pyros begins to approach the dog, but pulls up short as Faerin casts her spell. This is her specialty, best let her handle it.
Blind or not, Pyros keeps trying to attack. Milani, guide my hand.
Pyros keeps slashing, hoping to hit the right dryad this time.
