The black bird makes a non-committal EK-ek-ek before taking to the air on a powerful wing beat then landing hard on the tangled mass of grey hair that topped the hag's head. It quickly stomps and shifts Mahb's hair into a passable nest and settles in. Its eyes halfway close and (if it were possible) the bird looks utterly bored.

Pye flies in a slow clockwise circuit around the battlefield.
The sleepy bird's eyes snap open at the offered grub. It deftly plucks the juicy morsel from the kellid's hand and downs it with a clack of its heavy beak. "Yeess, thankkks." the raven chuffs amiably as it wipes the remnants of the kill from its beak into the hag's hair.
The self-satisfied bird gives the old woman's head a half-hearted peck. "Daaaaaaamn right."
"No offense was meant, spirit. I did not understand your nature," she says, cautiously. The bird makes an oddly pleased rattling cackle-purr deep in its throat and settles down on its impromptu hair-nest, half-closing its eyes.
Chiquq walks in silence, keeping pace with her furred friend, and darting occasional looks at Mahb's raven. The creature looks around with more intelligence than Ila, Chiquq has to admit. On the third such look, the watchful raven's head turns and he croaks, "Whhaaaaaattt?"

After a moment, he takes to the air and circles the group before launching straight up, vanishing from the sight of those with normal vision. For those blessed with greater sight, they can see the bird rise up then head back towards the center of town.
Pyewacket dives on the group and lands with a loud flapping of wings in their path. He ruffles his feathers and croaks at them ominously.

As if on queue, a dark feathered form flies in through the broken window, hits and slides across the narrow counter and knocks a beaker onto the floor where it smashes and joins the appreciable pile of broken glass. The weather-beaten raven jumps back from the counter's edge and caws hoarsely. : krkrkakrkkaaaawwwww :
Pyewacket takes to the air, finds a high branch, and keeps a sharp eye out for anything unusual. When his mistress begins circling the village looking for signs of fleeing undead, Pye flies down to assist her.

A few minutes later a dark form wings into view, seen through the gloom and rain haze. The raven alights on a branch, caws, then dives in a straight line. With strong wing beats, Pye arcs in his course and returns to the branch. He repeats the motion again - diving in the same direction before returning to the branch.
Pyewacket hops through the window and glides to the ground near some water-filled tracks. He caws stridently at the old woman and hops over the tracks several times.
The raven bobs its head again and lets out an odd purring rumble in its throat.
With a deft, heavy-beaked, strike the hackle-feathered raven tears the heart from the rotting field mouse and wolfs it down. Virtually unnoticed on the roof's pinnacle, the black bird watches the activity in the small village of Perdition's Point at the behest of its mistress. None of the warning signs she spoke of are in evidence - no pitchforks, no boiling tar, no plucked feathers, and no mobs talking angrily about witches. The peals of the church bell causes it to jump to the left, leaving its meal unfinished. The bird hunkers down and watches the townsfolk head towards the church. Seeing a single figure it recognizes from her numerous visits to its mistress' cave, the raven deliver a croaking chirrup to get the gnome woman's attention. The bird ruffles its feathers at her and then launches itself from the roof in two beats of its powerful wings. It wings away silently over the forest.
