Emboldened by his success, or spurred on my the flames at his heels, Poog charges with his magically flaming dogslicer.

Bahahahaha! Even if we die, I'll remember the "Sound Burst and nick the ogre's spear" tactic til the day I die.

Seeing the ogre disarmed, Poog will leap to his feet and cast sun metal on his dogslicer, ready to charge into melee.

Oh! My apologies. I work in learning support, and I've just taken on a full time position setting up a new unit this Wednesday so haven't been able ot check in quite as regularly. Feel free to bot me next time I slow things down but I should be able to check in at least every other day until we wrap things up!

"Chuffy! No more fire-fire! Stick him! Plug him with holes!"

Swaying atop his now very unco-operative piglet, Poog hurls his javelin.

If he fails this concentration check from a single point of damage I will have no words for how shocked I am. Right now this and sound burst are my only options, so somebody had best start bringing the pain soon. Or we can regroup and try another assault?

Poog's song falters out as he sees the fire have no effect. "... uh oh." he says, biting his lip in trepidation. "Gnah! Charm spell! Grr..."

Okay, let's try a cause fear (DC 13), leaves him shaken even on a successful save if he's within the HD cap so might be able to set up another spell.

Poog will dig his heels into the squealing pig's side, and begin to sing:

Drawing his wand of sound burst (Fort DC 13 or stunned), Poog lets loose a thunderclap. Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

"Shhh! Reta please no tell Licktoads. Poog not want media circus." Poog says, in a sudden panic. "Poog hear magic, but Poog no see who or what. Zarongel knows what he doing in there."

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Blessed by an enormous, spherical head, and overlarge ears, Poog can hear the sounds of spellcasting within. "Magic! Grrrr... GOBLINS! MAKE READY! RETA! Me touch you."

Poog will cast Resist Fire on Reta.

Poog will use the final charge of his wand of fireball, cackling madly to himself.

Once his fellow goblins are at the ready, Poog will launch a fireball through the second floor (entry) window.

Poog growls. "Stupid dogs! We puts it down. It be goblin's god-given duty. We slits its throat and sacrifices it to Zarongel. Chuffy, you is most sneaky. You goes first, yes?"

With the dog taken care of, I'll start a volley through the window by the entrance. Whoever nabbed that necklace of fireballs should join me.

Is there a window that we can throw a spell throuigh? Otherwise I might need an angle through the doorframe.

With much difficulty, Poog will swing around the the north, coaxing his mount over the bridge. He'll draw his wand of fireballs. "OKAY! You draw them out, yes? Then we kills them dead."

Handle Animal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

I've been hoping for a reanimated mount all game. It just dawned on me that I can't do that without any black onyx. D'oh!

Poog will approach the fearsome piglet, Squealy Nord. Channeling his chieftainly bravery, he uses his speak with animals ability to cow the fearsome beast and strap him into the barding. "How Squealy get here? You come with Poog. Serve Poog, for he is big chief now, and Poog give Squealy many eats."

Ride - Fast Mount (bareback): 1d20 + 5 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 - 5 = 19 ooh! nearly.

Poog attempts to impress his followers by leaping onto the pig's back, tangling himself in the straps of his barding but managing to right himself.

"Um. Um... um." Poog begins, as Reta plans her coordinated assault. The strain of leadership and tactical thought too much, he follows Reta and falls back on his comfortably toasty fire magic.

Backing away from the gouts of flame, Poog tries to put the fat pig down with another blast of fire, sending him to Basalfeyst to feed his barghest god.

"Ow ow ow ow ow!" Poog cries, before retaliating with a bolt of fire at the fat pig. (5ft stepping away if necessary. I can't access the map for a day or two until I'm back at home.)

Poog hurls a fire bolt at the fat pig, cackling at the smoking inferno in front of him.

Bahahaha oh wow, those are some incredible odds.

"That Squealy Nord!" he says, pointing to the depressed looking pig. "Munchmeat stole our pet!" He barks, wand of fireballs in hand. Then, the mighty Poog, master of subtlety, elects to blow the boat to smithereens.

"Zarongel sings and screams with us! HAHAHAHA!! BURN! BURN!"

Poog shoots Reta a glare, attempting to look down his nose at her. However, his short stature, heavy skull, and stubby nose almost send him toppling over backward with the effort. Righting himself, he leads the party toward the boat.

"They no look so good." Poog remarks, examining the severed, half rotten heads. He'll creep into the courtyard to the cover of a nearby tree. "They food for barghest-gods in next life. Ayup." He draws his wand of fireballs for the first sign of trouble. Before pointing ahead and ordering his goblins forward.

"First Poog send Chuffy on glorious scouting mission!"

Poog recived a messege from Zarongel as I was editing the post

Oop! Ninja'd. Teach me to be hasty. It's too late to amend my post, but let's run with this result. ;)

Poog cackles in triumph and seats himself atop the throne. "Zarongel say that this is wise. He is pleased and names Mogmurch Killstealing Subchieftain. Chuffy he names head of Backstabbing Division. Reta he names Executive Head of Making Loud Noises-Many." he booms. Grinning. "Together you make Chieftain Poog, Mighty Herald of Zarongel's, ogre-slaying commitee." he says, motioning to the magical treasures at his feet before adding proudly. "Poog delegate responsibility!"

The grin quickly leaves his face at the withering look that the Wise Mummy and other Birdcrunchers cast his way. "I guess Poog go too. In a supervisory role..." he adds, meekly.

I was tempted to divide the treasure to each party member in a Galadriel fashion, but let's just divvy it up in the discussion thread. Whoever takes that necklace of fireballs is a ticking timebomb with so much AoE fire damage going around, but it means we can devastate encounters at a range between that and Poog's wand... oh, and happy holidays everybody!

"Mogmurch fragged Poog's kill! Mogmurch big killstealing jerk!" he shouts, indignantly. "Zarongel visit you with boils in uncomfortable places..."

I'm going to choose to take that as a suggestion. :P

"WATCH OUT, STOOPIDS! MAKE ROOM FOR ZARONGEL'S GREAT BIG FLAMING WHATSIT!" Raising his hands to the god of fire, and by extension, tasty eagle-goblin pies, Poog tries to burn his way through the crust, singing the eagles in the process.

Poog promises free healing for everybody once he is chief.

"Poog stomp MOST Stirges! Poog make best chieftan!" he says, holding his now slightly limp toad aloft in triumph. He drops his toad to snatch at the curative draught, stepping on poor Dogfinder in the process. "Oops! Dogfinder! Why you get underfoot? Why you no move no more, Dogfinder?"

Unarmed Strike Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2 Leaving Dogfinder at -1 and bleeding. Poog seems to have a habit of squashing his lucky Toads, and who am I to go against tradition? :P

"Here. Poog fix you!" Sound Burst damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6 he shouts, pointing a wand at the creature and letting loose a deafening, squelchy thunderclap. "UH OH! THAT WRONG WAND!"

Poog stomps the grappling stirge, narrowly avoiding flattening his toad.

Poog is incensed by Reta's chiding, and wiping the mud for his eyes, is unable to land a second stomp. "RETA SHUT HER BIG HEAD!"

Bullrush Toad: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Poog shunts his hapless toad closer to harms way.

Poog and his toad seem to have been moved from where I placed them the other day. Have adjusted accordingly. I thought it was just me being scatterbrained but the revision history checks out. So that should leave Dogfinder in range of the stirges. If that changes their actions last round I might amend this post.

Poog leaps across the gap to the next beam, grinning to himself. Standing just clear of the stirges reach, he sets his lucky toad down and tries to usher him forward, nudging him along the plank and into harms way. (I have never felt so Neutral Evil in my life.)

"RETA LEAVE POOG'S TOAD OUT OF THIS OR POOG MAKE RETA SORRY!" Poog shouts, managing to pin his stirge to the ground and stomp him good in his fury. "POOG... POOG..." collecting himself, Poog looks at Dogfinder thoughtfully, chewing on the beginnings of an idea.

Crying out in terror, Poog bats at the Stirge once more.

Con damage is not nice, and I'm pretty sure these things are going to bleed us dry faster than we can kill them. I think it may be time to turn on each other instead, he says, from the safety of the furthest planks. ;)

Poog can't channel without his holy symbol, but can still cast spells insofar as I can tell? Let's assume you nabbed my component pouch as well, though. :)

Backing up a little, Poog takes a great running leap, just barely landing on the opposite plank. Rubbing his hands together, he lets loose a flashy curtain of flame. Relying on fire bolts exclusively will probably trivialise this encounter, so I'm going to limit my spell/SLA use from here on out and try to keep making these acrobatics rolls. Happy Thanksgiving from down under, for those celebrating!

Poog seems aghast at the Wise Mummy's blasphemous suggestion that Poog DOESN'T use fire. Indignant, Poog holds his head high, taking a tentative step onto the post, and finding it too rickety for his liking, he instead creates a ball of conjured flame, and punts it toward the nearest stirge. "Poog no need weapons or stinky boot. Poog use great burning boot of his god!" Strictly speaking Poog HASN'T had his wand of fireballs taken off of him, but that amount of overkill would likely result in his being disqualified.

Don't sweat it Chuffy! There'll be more challenges yet if the last adventure is any indication. I'm not sure of the DC on this perception check, will just follow suit and roll for each round.

Stepping up to the plate, Poog boasts loudly. "Zarongel sees through Poog! This be walk in da quagmire!" then lowering his voice to a whisper, uses his three rounds of his speak with animals ability to whisper sharply to his lucky toad. "Psst! Dogfinder! Me no see so good! Point Poog in right direction!"

Grinning expectantly and eager to see the results of his expert marksmanship, Poog lifts his blindfold.

Poog swells with pride at Mogmurch's praise, pleased that his loud proclamations of his skill at riding are proving a fine substitute to any actual skill in that department. "Reta BIG dogslayer. But Most Mightest Zarongel kills MANY dogs... one... two... six... four... MANY dogs!" he says, somehow puffing himself up even more. He throws his arms wide, raising his arms and addressing the gathered Birdcrunchers.

"ZARONGEL SEND VISION IN FLAMES! POOG BE GREAT-GOD'S CHOSEN! WARRIOR OF FIRE! BORN AMIDST SWAMP AND SMOKE!" he proclaims, igniting two fistfuls of belly-button link with the almighty power of his god, watching his lesser brethren marvel and cower at his presence, as his grin contorts into a grimace as he drops the flaming tinder with a yelp and begins frantically blowing onto his singed palms. Aware of the eyes still apon him, he clasps his hands behind his back and addresses his future subjects once more, blinking back tears. "POOG SHOW BIG DUMB OGRE THAT ZARONGEL IS VERY GREAT! NO NEED FEAR!"
