Poob's mood falls when the body is discovered. "That's a shame."

"Ooh, offstage voices! I'm loving this production!" Poob whispers. He then clears his throat and in a projecting stage voice, he replies "we mean you no harm, friend, and we have no dolls. Won't you come and say hello?"

"Wow, sound effects included!" Poob exclaims. "This production has it all!" Poob seems to be having a grand time, soaking in the dramatic atmosphere as he follows Cariad to the right.

"What a dramatic scene!" Poob looks admiringly over the ruined manor.

"Indeed, friend, we wish to help you! You and your silent friend, here."

Deciding Lough and Berry have things in hand at this end, Poob strolls across the square as he would a stage, continuing his dramatic monologue as he does. ◆Stride, ◆Stride, ◆inspire courage

Poob glares at the attacking goblin, slipping easily into a loud stage voice.

"In peace there’s nothing so becomes a gob
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the horse.
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect”

As his words ring through the square, filling his allies minds, he steps away and casts a quick ward to protect himself.

Poob, predictably, wanders over to the actor. "Quite the dramatic scene you have here, made more so by our entry in media res as it were. What's the story so far?"

"Sounds good to me!" Poob chimes in. "The, err, going to see the statue part, not the dilated temporal consciousness part."

"My, but that was a show! If you ever want a career change, I bet you would be great as a theater tech!"

Poob leaps in front of the nearest researcher with a dramatic flourish, grunting as the shadowy energy slams into him. I think only 3 people had been reactively protected so far. If I mis-counted, then disregard.

Poob continues his inspiring recitation, bringing a flying candlestick to bear upon the newly-formed wisp. ◆Inspire Courage, ◆◆telekinetic projectile

Bludgeoning: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Shrugging off the worst of the pulse, Poob calls out to his friends, hoping to raise their spirits with an apt bit of verse.

"Fear not, friends!
'Tis but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more!"

Everyone gets +1 status bonus to attack/damage/save vs. fear

Expertly timed with the final line of his recitation, a book flies from across the room, aimed at the manifested creature!

◆Cast inspire courage, ◆◆cast telekinetic projectile. If the creature has already been destroyed, he'll still Inspire, then try two more times to fix the ritual instead (Occultism +4).

"A dark and shadowy ritual in a chamber atop the tower? Oh, the drama! Just need to rearrange the lighting a little and the scene will be perfect!"

Poob watches the shadow beasts in uncharacteristic silence, his attention firmly fixed on the story unfolding before them. "Wow!" he exclaims, once the initial shock is passed. "The staging! The choreography! This is magnificent storytelling!"

Of those, Poob can only use the magic missile scroll, and won't usually have three actions available (not having Lingering Performance). If Athelstead or Fearful Berry want one of those divine scrolls, they should go for it.

I'll 'third' the suggestion for Museum Ritualist.

"Sure, Poob can be sneaky! Surprise is the key to maximum dramatic effect!"

"Do I know how to entertain? Why, I should hope so! Dignitaries or the common man, the theater is for everyone, after all!" The goblin seems almost willful in his misinterpretation of the question, but his charm is undeniable.

"You ever tried striking a set for an overnight turnaround? Now that's hard work!"

Yeah, I usually say the same for entangle. If you're outside and it's not, like, a sand dune or a bare rock shelf or something, then there are probably enough little plants around to entangle.

"As my strange friend here said...I think...I didn't really follow, to be honest...well, as the famous line says:" With this, the goblin steps back, raising his hand in a dramatic pose, as if on stage.

Performance: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 If this counts as trying to Make an Impression, I can use Performance in place of Diplo. Otherwise, my untrained diplo is +4.

They have the plant trait, but I do not believe having a leshy in the area is sufficient for the entangle spell to function.

Striding boldly into the room, looking about as if expecting to be recognized by adoring fans at any moment, is a dun-colored goblin, a prominent tail wrapping up behind his shoulder. His garish clothing, clearly hand-made of cheap fabric intensely-dyed, draws your eye wherever he moves, as does the oversized tricorn hat he wears.

"What ho, fellow agents!" The ostentatious creature bows, doffing his hat with a dramatic flair, before he continues. "A fine day for a party, I think, and a fine opportunity as well. Lucky for me, we haven't started tech week yet for Pirates of Pezzack. The names Poob, nice to meet you!"

I think Spotlight may have (horror of horrors!) been ignored (!) in round 3 over the course of one measly afternoon. Round 3 actions: 3 strides into the newly peaceful zone.

"Friends! Pirates! Freemen! Lend me your ears!" Spotlight shouts as he jumps onto a chair near the door. "Surely the answer to your partisan fighting is a equitable truce! For it is said, 'a peace is of the nature of a conquest; for then both parties nobly are subdued, and neither party loser.' I say to you, lay down your arms and raise your tankards, and toast to victory, all around!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 <--+7 instead if this is a check to Make an Impression (Versatile Performance)

Round 4 actions: 1. Stow whip, 2. leap onto chair, 3. Orate.

Spotlight shoots a glance at Ripfang, who is occupying the prime attention spot, then hops up onto the other table and waves his hands. "Time for the big special-effects moment! All eyes on me, folks!" A wave of bright colors bursts forth, washing over three of the tengus! 1. Stride, 2. & 3. color spray. DC 17 Will save for pink, green, and yellow. No inspiration this round, I'm afraid, the line was just too good to pass up.

"Once more into the drink, dear friends, once more!
Or close up the door with our empty cups!"

Spotlight jumps onto the table and mocks a swordfight with an empty mug before dramatically clutching his chest and falling over. Once out of sight, he mutters another line under his breath, forming a small barrier in front of him. 1. Inspire Courage, 2. Attempt to cow the crowd, 3. Cast shield.

Spotlights stands, dramatically holding aloft his drink as if reciting lines. "We drink? and speak parrot? and squabble? swagger? swear?” The goblin grins. "I'm in! To calmer seas, but not in here!" With that, he gulps down his drink.

Don Jurri attempts to draw in the attention of the impatient harbormaster "Lemme see if I still have that gold ring!" Baiting by reaching into his pocket, he dramatically pulls it open, turning it inside out, sand falling onto the ground "Not that one! Oh, wait here, I think I put it in the other one..." repeating the motion, eventually turning over his three main pockets, two in his pants, one in his shirt, as well as emptying his boots... all the while trying to keep the harbormaster's attention rapt, hopefully to create an opening for one or more in his crew to sneak by?

With a bow, Spotlight ends his poem, grinning at the harbormaster as he waits for the man's reply.

Hero Point to re-roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Lol.

Never one to miss an opportunity, Spotlight whips out his slide whistle and adds a little musical narration to his colleagues "graceful" entries into the water. With a flourish, he once again stows the whistle, gives an exaggerated shrug, then dramatically clutches his chest as if he'd just been stabbed and falls backward over the rail and into the water.

Upon reaching the sandbar, he gives a deep, soggy bow, the effect completely negated by Don Jurri's errant button. As he blinks away the swelling, he says "To rub, or not to rub? That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler on the sandbar to suffer the slings and buttons of outrageous allies, or to take arms against a sea of troubles," he gestures his arms widely at the rising tide around the party, "and by opposing end them: to blink, to see spots no more." As he delivers the final line, he smiles and bows once more, basking in a sea of applause that only he can hear.

When he notices his audience distracted by an accidentally-discovered crate, he wanders over to see what could be so interesting as to upstage a master thespian such as himself.

"Oh, the Gravelands! And here I thought my last mission to Osirion was bad."

Sorry, been a busy day. I'll try to get my tagline and such built out tonight. Level 1 with 1 XP coming in; Perception is +4, though I can't imagine why you would need that....:P

Looking up, you see a tan-skinned goblin hanging by a prehensile tail. He drops to the deck with a flourish, the effect ruined by the rope that catches his ankle, making his landing an awkward, crashing affair. He quickly gets to his feat and, doffing his tricorn hat, launches into song:

I know the kings of Taldor, and I quote the fights historical,
