"I'm always up for anything involving Superman. I've always wanted to get his high school year book signature to add to my collection of Superman memorabilia." "Still, getting a handle on Soul Harvester before he got going is high on my priority list, too." "I'm headed to the middle ages first with whoever wants to share a bubble. After that, it is Smallville here I come." Polar Boy powers up one of the time bubbles to do the 'pre-time' check.
If Brainiac is offering a mind adjustment device or Saturn Girl is willing to do it then I would vote for 'adjusting' Soul Harvester's mind at an early point in his development. It might not stop the Time Trapper but it will certainly break up his current plan as he will need to go searching for a new pawn. The delay in the plan as the time snaps back will give us time to go forward and gather more information on Time Trappers plan.
"Well, I don't know what we'll find in the future but I'm willing to gamble on it being better than what Time Huckster has planned in the present. Brainiac, can you put that data log of the current time line in a Happy Meal to go for me." "If we run into troubles in our temporal hopping, we should agree on a common time and place to meet up. It should be something that Time Goober won't want to mess with and yet we can find. Soul Peasant had a happy childhood before going to work for Vlad III. I'd suggest that we use that day and event as our common point." "If you have another favourite day in history, that's fine with me too."

"If it weren't for people like Superboy and Supergirl growing up on that world, I'd suggest the Green Lantern Corp doing a pre-emptive strike into the past and eliminating the whole world to save the galaxy from the trouble that comes off of that mud ball." "So, Soul Gardner had a happy childhood and later became a model citizen of villany with eating his own family. Ugh. And, has karma would have it he was blessed for his good work with getting to live several millenium to continue his good work or Time Damper plucked him out of the past to be his latest BFF." "I guess we need to check the histories as well to see what Soul Farmer did after he left Vlad III and had to take up new employment. Maybe he took up living in a Ashram or planting roses in an English Garden?"

"I don't know really. I was thinking that we know some of time has already altered and is being altered in the present. If we could acquire a history from some time in the future and go into the past then we'd have something with which to study and compare. Sort of looking at a pair of slides in a microscope or reading a pair of newspapers on the same event. We could look for where the histories differed and do a better job of isolating when and where the Time Scavenger started making changes." "Course, it's just and idea. I'm sure Brainiac has something better like a pre-loaded time vault or the location of a time capsule that was set up in the past for just this moment with everything we need to know."
"If there is something that I might know then I'm find with Saturn Girl touching my mind. Just mind that a few of those corners of mind have pin ups of various people; so, it might get a bit *umm* messy in there." Polar Boy is willing to submit to the scan of his unconscious brain. "When it comes to time. I say we take an archive with us into the past and then try to sort things out from there. We know where Superman's fortress of solitude is supposed to be in the past. We could possibly consider that as a starting point."
"Ah, Brainy, who's Time Tripper? Is he on one of our watch lists? Is he bigger than a bread box and smaller than a Nova?" "Should we be worried that he's giving out Villain Day presents to all the evil maniacs like Soul Harvester?" "On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is 'Chilling in the Bahamas' and 10 is 'Oh by Krypton, I've just died my shorts brown' where would he be?"
'I'd watch what gets put in reports being sent to the Science Police, Lightning Lad. We're talking a lost colony of Kryptonians. Every mad scientist and villainous manipulator is going to be wanting to get their hands on dozen or more super mans or super girls. The Science Police may be the premier group to go to but some things are just too big a secret and someone is going to talk or if I were a villainous mastermind then I'd have at least a few people looking in the files for opportunities to exploit.' 'One Emerald Enchantress and we go from a problem that is bad to one that is cosmically out of control.'
Polar Boy will add an Ice Tent covering supported by pillars of ice as he walks along creating the ice path to keep people and the equipment safe. He'll add ice thickness to compensate for the wearing away of the acid. He'll also put on rain shields on the side if it looks windy and the rain might spray on to the walkers. Walking like a tour guide, Polar Boy says, 'Now, looking to your right you can see the wonderful hill of "I don't know" next to the plains of "Not on my map". Notice the way the light reflects off the peaks over there creating a truly a Shoulda-say-I-don't-know effect.'
Polar Boy thought of mentioning the Kryptonian's in stasis but some things, even if using Legion technology, were not safe to broadcast. 'You might want to send an alert to Supergirl and Superman to rendezvous with us when they get a chance. We've some news they might want to hear.' It was a standard message that wouldn't give away anything important. Everyone was wanting to talk to the supe pair so no one would think twice on the request if they were listening in. Trust someone who had tried 86 times to collect their signatures at fan appreciation days.

Lightning Lad, you might want to shift your targeting to be 1, 6, and 7 as 1 and 7 are both attacking you. Depending on actions after helping Obelisk, I'll try and blast 8 and 9 that are attacking Gorlog. Polar Boy has gone all out with the Freeze Breath (putting two hero points into it) so he is going to go for Severe and the 4 actions. He will help Obeslisk who is the most threatened. Polar Boy has his ice fortress for defense for the moment and is not a target like the others so Luck is his only need for defense at the moment.
Polar Boy having seen that the spirits flow through people and that Shadow Lass has not had much luck with her power will conclude that throwing darts, even ice darts that are solid objects will do little against the Avenging Souls. Polar Boy will choose to use his freezing breath since this might be able to affect the creatures since it is not strictly a physical attack. The intense cold is the absence of energy which might draw off whatever energy is holding these forms together. I'm not sure how many Hero Points Polar Boy has to start with but I'll spend the two if I have them and make the Power Control Roll to avoid hurting allies in the area. Freezing Breath is trait category Powerful 11 and add Concentration Good 6 for a total of +17 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35 'It is time for some of you to cool off!'
Polar Boy seeing Obelisk in trouble starts to sweep the area with a gust of polar wind. Not sure which is better for this. I have Freeze Breath and Project Snow & Ice. Both are Aim powers. The Freeze Breath is Powerful 11. Both powers take 1 action to use and I'm planning to Continuous Fire to get the +5 bonus on fire on the following rounds as I sweep over the area blasting the targets around Obelisk. Polar Boy has five actions and is not being attacked personally so he can use all five actions for fire or 4 for fire and one to position if necessary. I'll make five d20 rolls as I'm not sure what to add as I'm not sure which is the appropriate power for attacking the Avenging Souls to sweep them off of Obelisk. Roll 1 1d20 ⇒ 1 Roll 2 1d20 ⇒ 17 Roll 3 1d20 ⇒ 16 Roll 4 1d20 ⇒ 1 Roll 5 1d20 ⇒ 11 'So Obelisk, these guys are like Lightning Lad before he gets his coffee in the morning. '
Polar Boy looks at Gorlog. 'You're only with the Science Police? I though for sure you were one of the new recruits. I know we had try outs recently. So who was it that I was making breakfast with and couldn't handle eggs? I bet Brainiac would know. Then again, is there anything a person forgets if you are a living computer? Oh wait, that would to remind everyone that you're a living computer.' 'Personally, I'd vote for taking the whole unit if we can lug it. Though, if you need to search the data base, I should be able to do it right here. I helped work with some of these systems as I worked on a new interface protocol to help resuscitate the people in cryo-stassis. I still don't understand what went wrong.'
'If it were me, I'd recommend that someone other than Gorlog did the reaching in with the fingers. I'm not sure what you're looking for but the last time I had Gorlog working in the kitchen with me...well, let's say there was a reason we served scrambled eggs and there were a few shells in the eggs.' 'So, I know what I'm doing here. What are you doing here?'
'Oh, you know, the usual. Saving a couple thousand Kryptonian lives. Being tricked and locked in a meat locker. Escaping and working again to save a few thousand lives. Angering someone who's name I can't even remember at the moment. Farmer Fish or Fish Farmer something. Might as well call him Empty Head. It is easier to remember and that's really all I know of him since I talked to his hologram briefly.' 'I really don't know how much help I'll be pulling a chip from the hologram. I usually find stuff isn't working and drop it off in Braniac's Lab to get repaired. I tend to work on vehicles. I suppose if you need to do some chopping that I could create an ice axe. No guarantee on clean the cuts might be but it would work.' While Polar Boy talks he waves a hand and a light snow starts to fall in the room. Using Create Snow with the Concentration Epic/12 ability which gives range 50'x Cat. Activation is 1 Action. Polar Boy wants a bit of snow in case someone is sneaking around and the snow will make it easier to spot foot prints or items being interfered with by movement. A half centimeter or quarter of an inch should be enough. 1d20 ⇒ 4

I'd love to talk but I think we're going to have our regular Legion get together complete with quickly forgotten 'bad guy'. I'm putting together a nice ice home for us. Do you think I should put in a wet bar or just go with a dry bar? How about a nice barcalounger? By the way, what is a barcalounger? Is it a chair or a couch?' Polar Boy will make sure to avoid the electronic equipment. He'll have the fort reach the ceiling in height or 70'. He'll skip the doorways as Legionnaires all have flight rings. He'll just have windows at 20' above the ground and a rampart around the edge of the snow fort. Two of the windows will be large enough to allow the Legionnaires that he recognizes to get inside the fort while the others will be more firing slits that allow the Legionnaires to project their powers through while still taking cover if they wish. Polar Boy will activate his flight ring to allow him to look out the vision slits.

Polar Boy knew that he had done well. Thousands had been saved. Still, it galled him that in the days ahead it would likely be Braniac that would be called into to review the programing and the science. When the press heard the tale it would be all how Braniac had again saved thousands of Kryptonian lives. Polar Boy would likely not get mentioned at all or just as the person who witnessed the first people to leave the cells and dissolve to goo. Braniac would only file a memo for him to sign telling him on how Braniac would have done this and that if he had been present in this situation. It was hard to be a Legionaire and be less then Braniac. Still, for today, Polar Boy knew he had done well. Now, what was with this annoying talking head and this 'Harvester of Souls'?

Polar Boy doesn't bother to consider 'ramifications'. He acts knowing he is a Legionaire and he will make the right choice. He triggers the emergency locking device routine.
