Hello everyone.

I'm making a guardian lizardfolk mounted in a Spinosaurus.

The homebrew rule:

1. The lance doesn't lose the reach while mounted.
2. Intercept attack works while mounted (the only exception to step actions)
3. The Spinosaurus has 40 feet speed in land and 30 feet swimming.
4. The Spinosaurus becomes huge at lvl 12

The situation at the table:

1. I'm the only non mythic character
2. I play with ancestral parangon and free archetype.
3. All characters are ranged (except te rogue and the druid but the rogue always goes for the ranged route)
4. We have psychic, rogue, gunslinger, wizard, druid and guardian (me).
5. The campaign is pirate themed (but with 50/50 parts in sea and land)

My initial build (my secondary role is to be an intimidating machine):

1. Wetlander lizardfolk, lizardfolk lore, reptile speaker, reactive shield
2. Hampering stance (combo with terrain advantage), cavalier dedication and titan wrestler
3. Iruxi armaments(fangs), toughness
4. Not so fast!, impressive mount, quick repair.
5. Swift swimmer
6. Reflexive shield, mounted shield, dashing pickup.
7. Guided by the stars, fleet.
8. Shield from arrows, incredible mount, battle cry.
9. Terrain advantage (off guard for non lizardfolk in difficult terrain)
10. Shield salvation (retrain with sure footed at lvl 17), trampling charge and terrified retreat.
11. Read the stars, numb to death
12. Armored counterattack, rearing display and quick mount.
13. Iruxi spirit strike
14. Opening stance, specialized mount, skeptic's defence
15. Primal rampage canny acumen (reflex)
16. Improved reflexive shield, specialized mount, scare to death.
17. Scion transformation
18. Shield from spells, specialized mount, cloud jump.
19. Fossil rider, ancestral parangon (bone magic)
20. Boundless reprisals, legendary rider, too angry to die.

Any suggestions and changes? What do you think?

Thank you. Trampling charge is interesting and 3 actions for a bunch of people off-guard, but is not a tyrannosaurus, is a Spinosaurus (it's a "pirate" adventure, lots of water). It has mount because I'm a dinosaur rider from Droon and it makes sense for the DM.

Thank you. Fortunately my DM knows how to compensate underpowered or overpowered characters through the narrative. Believe me, if he sees me struggling he will give me something.

PS: My DM allows me to make my mount huge at lvl 12 without mammoth lord. So cavalier it is.

I chose to be a non-mythic character. Because I like to be a normal Iruxi, a mortal among gods and because free archetype goes better with the theme (apocalipse rider doesn't catch with the character).

For context. We are using the suggestion for the free archetype rules.

"If the group all has the same archetype or draws from a limited list, you might want to ignore the free archetype’s normal restriction of selecting a certain number of feats before taking a new archetype. That way a character can still pursue another archetype that also fits their character."

The build I made is with lances (for the jousting) with beast master at lvl 2 and mammoth lord at lvl 4. The big dinosaur is non-negotiable. The point is to mount a megafauna as big as I can, with I being large. (If I can make the dinosaur huge without mammoth lord and with cavalier make me know)

I looked into champion, but the religious stuff doesn't fit with the character. He is a warrior of Droon, a mercenary who vows to protect the megafauna.

Quick shield block, shatter defenses, dazzling display, fearsome brute are feats that I looked into it. Also, aggressive block and quick reflexive shield are on the list. I'm aiming at being a shield blocker.

It is too much, or I can make it feasible? I change weapons or free archetypes?. What do you think?

PS "You could get a companion earlier and grab mammoth lord later for the size increase and take one of the skill feats to get out of it faster." That's what I've done with the build I have at the moment but with the suggestion I don't need to pick two feats to "get out" of mammoth lord.

Hello.

I'm a local spellcaster player trying a fighter for the first time in pathfinder 2e.

My idea is to be a menacing steel wall mounted in a gigantic dinosaur. We have a druid, a wizard, a gunslinger, a rogue and a psychic. All the characters are mythic except mine. The mount (including the exception to the special rule for animal companion) has been approved by the DM. The mount is a tyrannosaurus.

The idea is to pick mammoth lord for the gigantic mount (planning on taking scion transformation), feats for shields and intimidation, and heavy armor.

Also, I'm playing with free archetype. Any recommendation will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the ideas. My DM is working on the gods but I think for now neutral cleric works fine because someone needs to help the fighter and help the rest.

And of course if I can fit zombies in the mix the better.

I'm thinking more of a "control weather and water" type of cleric (summoning elementals, storms, etc...) but capable of going mele to support the fighter.

Thanks for the help.

For now the party has a fighter, investigator, bard and a rogue.

Interesting concept. Thanks

Thanks for the help. I hope i can recollect more opinions for more builds.

I know well pathfinder. The only problem is the class mechanics (specially the spells, domains, channel energy and the part of leaving empty spell slots for future use in the day)

The mechanic advice. I have no problem with the flavor.

Hello. I want to play a cleric and i'm inexperienced in the class.

The idea is a water/support/undeath cleric (neutral/evil) worshiper of a sea deity.

Don't worry, at level 8 I can wild her (yes, since level 2 when she awakes floats arround like a familiar and acts as a familiar obsesed with rubies and she doesn't allow to be wielded). When I hit lvl 8 i'm automatically allowed to wild it with no problem since filomena (his name) is equivalent to a lvl 8 character without a wielder. This is possible because is the family relic (the story is longer but i don't want to type until the dawn of time) and is linked with my lineage. Anyone except me are allowed to wield it.

I can try. I want to remember the magic weapon is a priority and add something i forgot. Is a 32 EGO object.

That's the problem. I can't change the 1 barbarian / 4 magus. It is already done. I need to build around that.

Thanks for the ideas.

I take the second option. I don't want yo focus on shocking spam. My priority is upgrading my skill with the magic scimitar and cast spells as a backup for buffing and helping myself (casting vanish for eldritch assault) and blasting everything I can't kill with the scimitar artifact.

Traints are interesting but for another character, is too late for this one (1 year in real time after the character creation for the campaing) and i'm the only one with experience in pathfinder except for the DM and i don't want to push too far with the builds, that's why I choose barbarian instead of the bloodrager.

Thanks for the help and any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for the advice. I used your guide to make the build in the first place a year ago, helped me a lot with understanding the class.

Right now is impossible to change bloodline, even the artifact is linked with my familiar lineage (being a red dragon my ancestor). If you know a feature to take another bloodline please tell me because is the only way to benefit for aberrant or other good bloodlines.

Do you recommend taking another level on something or go full magus. (The objective is maximizing the combat with the scimitar artifact because is extremely powerful).

This is a character to a lvl 15-20 campaing.

The original idea is to make the character a Dragon disciple/Eldritch scion but here is the problem.

Right now i'm 1 barbarian / 4 eldritch scion (magus) [I know barbarian is not the best class to cast spells but my DM allows to rage in the middle of a spellcombat] and the DM gave each charater of the party a "gift". My gift is a scimitar, a very special scimitar. She is a sentient major artifact. You read well, a MAJOR ARTIFACT. She regain memories and powers when I level up. The cuestion is: Is worth it to go for DD or change the build when I have time? and if the later is true, what build do you recomend?

The buld for reference

18 STR, 10 DEX, 12 CON, 12 INT, 7 WIS, 16 CAR.

Feats: Intimidating Prowess, extra arcane pool, Weapon focus scimitar.

Race: Suli

Thanks for the help.
