Do these guys have any noticeable identification visible either in their vacsuits or anyplace visible?
"We're here to retrieve David, since they went missing and we tracked them here. The guards opened up on us when we came in and started exploding when we retaliated with zap rounds- imagine our surprise." "So I'm guessing you're working on this tainted Overdrive?"
Protocol or Deception 50: 1d100 ⇒ 61
Pilgrim holds one hand up, off of his freezer. "After containment was breached and the guards were overwhelmed, my team was called in to contain the situation. Weren't you briefed that we were here?" He shoots a glance to Cat. "I swear, every time they have the indentures run our security clearance something like this goes wrong. I'm guessing they didn't tell you an auxiliary team would be on site?"
Probably Research, Aleks. Your muse also has it at 40, I think. SAV 15: 1d100 ⇒ 29
"Cat- don't touch them. We don't know what they were doing here yet... and given that there was some virology business going on we want to avoid getting more contact than we already have." Pilgrim grabs the scientist by the shirt.
I'm fine with rolling it once for the combat, just for reducing how much stuff has to be fiddled with. Cursing in Korean, Pilgrim levels his freezer at the guys detaching the morph container- particularly the scientist.
Spray Weapons 60+10 smartlink+10 aim for 80: 1d100 ⇒ 16
Pilgrim checks his weapons for the fortieth time since the incident behind the brothel. Hoping for answers more than anything, he keeps his freezer at the ready and his shard pistol holstered for now. "It sure feels like our AR boss fight is waiting for us down there... I have some Grin and MRDR if any of you want to get crazy- confiscated from a perp, of course."
Pil: Wyrm, you wanna get in here and crack this door open? I think all we have available is brute force right now and it might be air-gapped if you can't open it from out there. In game terms, I think Interfacing is what we want to crack it open. I have Hardware: Industrial as well, but I think it's best to try the light-fingered approach.
After cuffing the guard and rendezvousing with Pivo and Aleks again, Pilgrim accompanies cat back on the sneak mission hoping that his damn freezer doesn't short on him again.
Infiltration 60: 1d100 ⇒ 56 Sorry for the absence, for some reason I didn't see that we were back.
Initiative: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 I'm using my one complex action to hit the guy with my shock baton. Clubs 55: 1d100 ⇒ 37
Pilgrim attempts to backhand the security morph with his shock baton and take him out before he can make this day any worse.
I know gear is impermanent but I kind of want to keep my freezer, since I don't know when I'll be able to fab another. I'll have it malfunction for five minutes. As Pilgrim takes aim at the guard, an entoptic window pops up in his vision.
Biting his lip to keep from screaming his frustration and chucking the damn thing, he switches to his shock baton. >Pil: This is not my day. I'm gonna have to go in up close pretty soon- can you be on site, P?
>Pil:Whatever you want to do, but do it quick- the guard's putting the place on lockdown. Chameleon coat is on the fritz, I've got to neutralize this guy... From above the security guard Pilgrim readies his freezer and fires. Freezer, Spray Weapons 60 +10 aim action: 1d100 ⇒ 97 Ugh. Fine, I'll use my last moxie to reroll. 1d100 ⇒ 97 Does anyone know the statistical probabilities of rolling a 97/100 three times in a row?
Pilgrim pulls out his utilitool and starts monkeying with the card reader- not necessarily to open the door, but to get someone on alert to open the door.
Hardware: Industrial 40, +10 McGuyver: 1d100 ⇒ 89 Once he's jammed his tool into the security device, he tries to hide someplace close to the door- possibly even on the ceiling with his grip pads. Infiltration 60 +20 chameleon coating, thermal dampening: 1d100 ⇒ 97
With knowledge of Police Procedures or Hardware: Industrial would I know if a warehouse like this would have security that might be able to pick up on T-Rays before I use my T-Ray emitter? Knowledge-Police Procedures 40: 1d100 ⇒ 5
Pilgrim starts looking over the boxes with his T-Ray emitter implant, looking for the one smuggled in on the feed Aleks sent everyone.
"Let's check it out now, maybe we can slip in there undetected. Let's take a walk around the block, make sure we're not followed and then try to infiltrate the Doll's House." Pilgrim gets up and heads for the door.
Once Cat and Pilgrim are out of the brothel, Pilgrim will walk around the area a little bit and make sure no one's tailing them. Then he'll pick up Pivo from the garbage and scope out means of entry on the Doll's House.
Perception 60 +20 hearing/vision tests: 1d100 ⇒ 7
"It's a serious request and we don't make it lightly. But it may be the only way we can find him- and possibly help him, if he's involved in something this serious." Pilgrim leans in.
Proposing a favor swap with Julia- they give us the XP, Pilgrim can do a favor for them down the line.
Pilgrim sighs, muttering in Korean. Edit: I'll try being more direct but anyone that wants to try something else, by all means. "Look, we want to talk to you in private for a minute. David Williams is missing and he bought Drive from you. We believe he may be involved in some dangerous business. But if you want to discuss your side deal in front of all these customers..."
"Sure, we understand that but can we check out the room first? We've had some bad experiences with some of the other places around here and we want to make sure it's got the right mood and that it's private. We don't want the session leaking onto the mesh, our bosses and clients don't need to see that."
Pilgrim approaches Julia, preferably out of earshot of any other patrons. "My friends and I have been very bad, Julia and I think we need to be punished severely. But do you have a private confessional here for the three of us? Maybe we can take a quick look and make sure that it'll have the kind of space we need?" Trying to make Julia think we're customers so we can get her someplace private, and assuming that Aleks is with us so there are three of us looking to go together.
Using another Moxie to flip it to a 46. Down to 1 moxie.
Perception 60 (80 on vision/hearing): 1d100 ⇒ 98
Pilgrim's workaholic lifestyle and lack of close "partnerships" had never bothered him that much before, but seeing the madame and her list of services reminds him just how long it's been. He just can't seem to focus on what he's here for. He clears his throat, his morph's red complexion growing more red around the cheeks.
Pilgrim sends a message out on the group chat before entering the brothel.
While Cat's running down information and Pivo is being propositioned, Pilgrim hangs back and combs through his contacts. He pulls up the mesh ID for Linda Hsu, an acquaintance in OIA and shoots her a message. Networking (Hypercorps) 60: 1d100 ⇒ 27 Linda! How's it going- you hungry? I'm down in the souk if you want to grab a bite. Hoping to find a particular Drive dealer, maybe I can pick your brain?
Do we have the names from Aleks during the conversation with Marie? If so... "Alright Ms. Danielson- do any of these names sound familiar?", Pilgrim says, listing off the dealers Aleks had messaged to the group. "Have you seen David with any new people lately? Any weird interactions with him? Do you know if he's been traveling lately?" Kinesics 50: 1d100 ⇒ 12
Pilgrim shakes his head, keeping his posture straight and "official". "Haven't found him, but we will soon. Now, we'll catch him up a lot faster the more information we know- can you describe his morph? Has he been acting strangely of late? Running with a new crowd? Anything that you think even *might* be useful could make a difference."
