"How old are you two?" Pavo quips as tends to the wounds that he can treat. It is not immediately clear if he is violating universal taboo by literally asking the two women their ages (given Ioseff's implications) or simply calling into question their relative maturity.

"I suppose we can try to lay them to rest within their coffins," he says to Shade. "They won't last long if we break the seal on the cases."

Pavo moves around to the other side of the tombstone and tries to hack the ghost apart. "Would you just sit still a moment? We're trying to put you to rest."

Pavo removes a pungent poultice from his bandolier and hastily wafts it under Phaed's Abella-faced nose and then presses it to one of the wounds he made. "Shade is busy being driven mad," he says. "Wake up!"

He then turns his attention to hacking at the ghost, which was easier to hit inside Phaedria.

He moves away from the aberration and continues to work on bringing down Ioseff's host. "I'm sorry, Phaedria."

He then calls upon Desna to shield him.

"Works for me," Pavo says. "Didn't we need their brains, though?" He points at the corpses with the craniectomies. "Did that freakish alien thing have them in any of his jars?"

"I think that's the ring we found in the fireplace," Pavo says and then arches an eyebrow in thought. "Abella? Do you have that ring? I can't remember when he started harassing us. The day that insane peeper nearly took out my eye is a little hazy."

"I'm going to try to rest up before we go confront the horror Ioseff released," Pavo says.

Knowing what kind of things we've fought here, I was at a loss as to what feats to pick. Kip Up is 7th requiring Master in Acrobatics, alas. That at least would have helped when I keep getting knocked out and brought back by Shade.

"We're in Ioseff Xarwin's--" Pavo glances at Phaedria. "Sorry. We are in what was once Ioseff Xarwin's manor in Cheliax. It appears that the manor was built upon the crypt of an ancient cultist and enemy of Desna's faithful named Tchekuth. Ioseff may have accidentally freed his spirit, cursed this manor, and led to the murder of his entire family, which resulted in more curses."

"Put the round pegs in the round holes and the square pegs in the square holes?" Pavo suggests.

"No pressure," Pavo says with a chuckle. "I'm not sure which I fear worse: the clock coming to life and killing me or your wrath should I ruin your clock."

He unfurls his tools and turns to assess the clock and the floating brain canister within.

"Ah!" Pavo screams as the alien beast crushes him in its claws. He stabs at the underside of the beast's arm and then speaks a prayer of warding.

"I suppose. We should be ready for that haunt that scared Phaed's name right out of her yesterday," he says.

"I might be able to put something together," Pavo says, eyeing the shaft, the crypt dome, and the setting while rubbing his chin. "You might want to go read while I try to figure this out."

"Well, that helps to orient us. The crypt leads to the horrid haunt and the corrupted psychopomps... and is connected to the manor." He frowns. "That looks like it is meant to hold the mirror. Should we install it and hope that it doesn't unkeash horror upon us?"

"I still have a bad feeling about this place," Pavo says as he moves the rings to match the celestial bodies to the diagram.

"I worry that might be the last place we want to go," Pavo says with a furrowed brow and considering frown.

"Well, that would explain why the crypt is so frightening in my dreams," Pavo comments. "What was that astrologer doing that made Desnans hunt him down?"

"Those lovely bones--thank you, Shade--those lovely bones keep trying to kill us, though," Pavo comments as the cleric works on mending his remaining wounds.

After a meal, he heads to the library to study the Order of the Starless Night.

Having had quite enough excitement for one day, he tries to quiet his mind. However, his body works on trying to fight off whatever disease he unknowingly contracted.

He drops his short sword and pulls the mace from his belt. "Oh, we'll purge you like the nosoi!" He leads with his rapier and then follows with the mace.

Pavo fails to make any connections among the imagery. "We could go get the ladder," he says to Tuco.

"Not too bad, thank Desna," Pavo answers. He lets Shade bandage what little the magical healing did not address before he goes to search the cave for clues. "We should probably give those bones a proper burial outside," he calls back over his shoulder.

"...is it?" Pavo asks tentatively, approaching but on guard.

Pavo survives the whirling mass of bones ripping across his neck by luck, and Shade releases a wave of healing energy, fortunately, which seals the worst of it. He makes a coordinated pair of strikes and then retreats away from the creature's reach.
