Surprise Round Palladia moves up to the front with her shield at the ready, hoping to draw their fire. Normal Round She will wait until her allies have fired another volley, then charge the frontline enemy. Delay until the other PCs have gone, then charge Entropic Strike (charge) vs EAC: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20

Sorry about that. My hand is finally feeling better enough to start catching up again! Palladia realizes that her early luck at piloting the trike belied the difficulty of adapting to the controls, especially with a passenger. She struggles to keep control as best she can. Piloting: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Palladia charges at the closest foe on the grass. If she can’t charge through the grass, she’ll just move instead and you can get rid of the +2 to her attack roll Entropic Strike vs Orange (charge): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23
10/10 SP, 11/11 HP, 13 EAC, 14 KAC, 2 EP Add 2 to both ACs and subtract 1 EP if she couldnt charge

Oof slowly winding back into my routine. A much needed holiday break! Palladia tries to smile back at the young lady in the medical bay, but the expression just does not look natural on her face. ”I’ll let her know. Thanks.” She trudges off the meet up with the others. ”Best get back before the Azlanti find us here.”
F Vanguard/1
Sorry, these last couple days have been killer and I'm just finally getting back up to par Earlier Palladia stews quietly as she hears more and more about these Azlanti. They are no different than the Aspis, thinking they can just take whatever they want whenever they want. She spits on the ground. Now Palladia, oblivious to Lenesel's attempt at discretion, just comes right out and says it. "We are friends of Aibretta."
F Vanguard/1
Palladia adjusts her shield and checks herself over for errant blast marks. ”I would like to finish gather the materials for a medkit, but it seems we are short on time. I agree with Lenesel’s assessment. We should head back to the main building and alert the lady of the house so she can make herself scarce, too, then move out. I suggest we secure the weapons Aibretta mentioned.”
F Vanguard/1
”Quiet, everyone. Need to answer this.” Believing herself the only person who speaks Azlanti, Palladia picks up the com and does her best to disguise her voice as believably an Azlanti soldier with a bad connection. Profession (soldier): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 To try to remember any Azlanti com procedure Deception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6 Azlanti Language:
”Command, nothing in storehouse. We are all fine here. How are you?” Between trying and failing to remember Azlanti military lingo and her need to rush, Palladia stumbles over her words. She makes some staticy sounds with her mouth, then drops the comm and blasts it. She looks at the others and shrugs. ”Good news: they are probably are confused. Bad news: Azlanti imperials probably don’t like being confused.”

Have we hd enough time for a ten minute rest? Palladia only has 1 stamina left and could use some recovery Palladia scowls and shakes her head. ”Absolutely not. We don’t know how many civilians they have, and they took their prisoners—including Cedona—to the headquarters. Their defenses will also likely be targeted more towards large ship combat. We cannot risk our only ship getting taken down.” She jabs a thumb in the direction of the storehouse. ”Lyle is right. We check that first.”
F Vanguard/1
”AbadarCorp wouldn’t send anyone for free, and last I checked we aren’t getting paid to fight any Azlanti, Ms. Aibretta. Lenesel is right, though. We can’t exactly get paid for the job we were actually sent here for without doing something about the Azlanti. Not that I mind.” She rotates her shoulder and cracks her neck. ”Could use a little breather anyways. What can you tell us about how they are distributed throughout the town and surrounding areas? Any intel we can get might make a difference.”
F Vanguard/1
Palladia glances over to Tori. ”Obviously the Azlanti decided they wanted to expand. Must have thought this would be an easy target.” She takes a survival knife and sheathes it on her belt as she looks over the man. Medicine: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 ”You’ll be fine as long as we keep that knife in and get you to a doctor.” She leaves the rest of the Azlanti gear to the others. ”I need armor with more range of movement. I don’t do longarms, either.”

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Palladia waves off Aleon’s call for caution and rushes after, her body moving supernaturally fast. ”This isn’t over!” Gonna expend an entropy point for both of her move actions to increase her speed by +10 ft, as by my reading spending an entropy point to increase movement only applies to the action it is a part of. She will get the second back because she is moving twice in one turn, I believe. At 40 feet with each movement, she should be adjacent again to the enemy, I believe

Palladia rushes off after the retreating foes. She might not be able to take them all down now, but the more damage, the better. A+B Entropic Strike vs Red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
2/10 SP, 11/11 HP, 15 EAC, 16 KAC, 4 EP

Started combat with 1 entropy point. 2 damage is double her level, so she gets a 2nd AoO vs EAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
She swipes her shield at the retreating soldier. Surprised to see them scattering so soon, she rushes and her form is off. She grins as she notices another of the soldiers is at perfect range for a charge. Shouting in primal glee, she runs him down, putting her full weight behind her shield. Charging gets her another entropy point, so up to 3 Acid + Bludgeon Entropic Strike vs EAC (charge): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Full round action to charge

Palladia rushes out of cover, calling back to the others . ”STAY BEHIND ME.” She stampedes up into melee, pounding her entropically-charged shield into one of the wounded Azlanti soldiers. Azlanti:
”Now you f~%+ed up, Azlanti a@&%+s.” She attacks whoever is the most wounded between blue and green
Move and standard

@GM Would you mind putting color markers on the tokens so we can differentiate? Will make specifying a target easier Palladia feels her body itching at the prospect of combat. These a*%&@!!s seem to be asking for it—literally—and she will show them just how screwed they are. Just a matter of getting close enough. Palladia advances, drawing her laser pistol on the move, her shield already in her off-hand. She takes up position next to Lyle and fires off a shot. Just a little bit more and she can rush them. Attack with Azimuth Laser Pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Move to move, standard to shoot

Palladia leans on the console and gazes upon the radar readings while the others explain the details. She smiles for the first time any of you have seen. She glances towards Lyle. ”That’s what I’m here for. Stay close to me if things go sideways.” She straps her shield on. ”This body has killed 956.5 people. Sounds like a good opportunity to round that number out.” She leaves out that while her body may be that experienced, she herself is not. Profession (soldier): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Since it looks like our forward arc is facing the enemy ships and none of the chief mate actions seems useful this round. Palladia will go gunner this round Also, I’m pretty sure the ship tier is 1 Palladia sprints towards the missile battery and pounds the fire mechanism. Gunnery Check (floating +1) vs the Damaged Drone: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Sounds like the patch check succeeded then, which I believe means no -2 for glitching for me?
F Vanguard/1
My thoughts, too. I do love, Jack, and there’s a bit of background parallels, but Jack is much more chaotic and angry. Random aside: I took a class on writing for video games from the guy who wrote Jack and Samara in ME2. Super chill guy! We got to meet her VA, too. He also said he originally wrote Jack as bi/pan but EA came in late in development and told them to “de-gay” the game, and he was still a bit salty about it.

I have played the original Mass Effect trilogy, so Tali makes sense. I struggle to think of a Mass Effect comparison for Palladia, though. She is primarily inspired by Athena from Borderlands, who I swear the designers must have been thinking of when they designed vanguard. Definitely had to tweak her to get the level 1 feel, as Athena is definitely much much higher level.

Palladia starts running off towards the sensors, the stops and shouts back. ”I’m going to go manually adjust the sensors so…whichever one of you is on science officer duty can scan them properly.” Manual Realignment, Helm Phase, Chief Mate Action. It lets the science officer get one piece of additional info from the scan action this round
