Hi all -

We have a PbP scenario that finished, but the GM got waylaid by RL issues and has basically disappeared without reporting the game or handing out chronicles. What do you do in this situation?

I have seen cases where a GM bows out midstream and someone else takes over the game, but this one is already over. And there are a few characters that are stuck waiting to start their next game.

It's sort of like a GM at a convention goes to the restroom and never comes back. Will he eventually? We have no clue.

So, my plan was to "take over" as GM, and then give the other players chronicles so they can move on. I would be stuck with the GM chronicle instead of a player one, but that's ok - just not ideal. But my biggest concern is, what if this person comes back in two weeks? I don't want to steal his GM credit - he did a lot of work to run a good game!

Thoughts? Options?


I am willing to take over any of the existing characters. Continuity can be important, and I often enjoy working with what someone else came up with.
