Onas nods at the plan.

"I may not be able to see perfectly well," he says. "I should be able to see enough to scout ahead, and if I need light I can quickly make my own. Time is against us I'd say. I'd rather not wait."

Again, sorry for the delay. Wife and I got the nasty !@# flu going around, and on top of working, it has left me drained.

As for the plan, I would be willing to go back to our usual with Onas, Tahata and his friend scout ahead. Between the three of us we should be able to notice any dangers.

Holding to see how Durian did.

Onas continues firing at the creature.

Onas draws back his bow and fires at the creature of earth. His arrow goes wide though.

"That's unfortunate." Onas comments."Low hanging fruit comes to mind here."

Sorry, Con funk dragged me down last week. With recovering work and all I had trouble keeping up.

Onas moves forward to join the group, drawing his bow as he does so.

"In Maginimar we say the streets will kill you," Onas says. " but this takes things to a whole new level."

Onas nods as Durian mentions following the plan to meet their contact.

"We shouldn't abandon our contact. That may lead to even more trouble."

For a moment Onas considers the idea of an angel companion accompanying him, but realizes that the helm would raise more questions with him wearing it. The idea is interesting though and he smiles.

Just a heads up guys, this weekend I have a local Convention which I will be involved heavily. I won't have much time to check in and post, but I will try.

Dawnflower shine upon me, a Cassisian Nagel. Wonders never cease on this adventure!

"I overheard some talk," Onas says as the group gathers on shore. "in my travels, of a shadowy group here in the north. They are known as the Frozen Shadows. Thieves and assassins from the tales. If they were here for us specifically then we seem to have some powerful enemies here. I think we should be even more cautious."

Onas approaches the Cassisian and stares for a second. He lifts his eyes to the sun and whispers a quick word, then he smiles at the angel. "Thank you bright one. I had never imagined meeting someone from the shining realms. Powerful enemies and powerful allies I guess."

Assuming that Durian has dropped the ninja we had conrnered.

Onas sees that Durian has handled the threat between them and move up beside Kagyu and fires his bow at the one target not engulfed in smoke.

Onas quickly casts a spell while he is still invisible, trying to catch one of the attackers off guard.

As Onas appears again, he draws his mithral dagger and moves in to engage the attacker with Durian.

Well, here's hoping he loses his Dex penalty and doesn't have any bonuses beyond armor.

Same from me here. Never sold a house but buying one was enough to drain me at times. Wish you the best with it and hope the new ones has room for games.

Onas watches as his companions begin going through the treasures but he's paying attention somewhere else.

"Nuci!" he exclaims as he turns to follow Tahata up to the top deck. "I knew I should have stayed on deck!

Onas speaks some arcana words then fades from view. The sound of creaking boards seem to indicate he has climbed up to the top deck.

Standard action to cast vanish. Move action to climb up to top deck. Climb check made if needed.

Onas moves down to the lower deck as he draws his bow.

"Why would someone chain that thing down here?"

Onas fires an arrow at it, trying not to hit his friends.

Well, that wasn't a good round.

Sorry, busy week at work.

Onas follows Kagyu to the hatch, preparing to do what he can to help.

"A fight below deck will get crowded, but I'll do what I can to help."

Onas climbs aboard the ship and hunches down low as a precaution.

Better safe than sorry.

As his companions look around, he scans out across the water trying to make sure no one is seeing what they are doing. He notes the smoldering sack and makes his way to check it out.

"I'll stay up here." Onas says. "My eyes aren't as much use in the dark but in the light I'm as sharp as a hawk."

As he reaches the sack he gives the area a look.

Onas stays low and moves into the group of trees nearby. He draws a sturdy bow from his back as he does so.

These trees won't help much but old habits die hard I guess.

As Onas gets in a position to fire, he draws an arrow quickly and sends it at the crab, not sure if it will have enough power to pierce the tough shell.

Onas approaches Durian as the group begins to settle in for the night. "Now that we have a moment, I'd love to check out that ring."

Onas takes the ring and begins to chant slightly. He turns it in front of his view, examining the auras that appear before him.

Not sure if that will be good enough or not. I doubt it, but I will wait for a result.

Outlaws? Grave-robbing? Well, its not the worst I've been involved in.

Onas ends his quiet contemplation as the group begin to plan. "Perhaps," he says softly. "a better understanding of where this boat will be would let us understand how best to handle the situation. Do we know where the boat is currently?"

He continues as he motions to Tahata. "Our recent situation proved we all work well together. Perhaps we can put the more 'distracting' members of our band to work providing cover for the more 'light-fingered' of us to make off with our targets."

"By the glorious sun..." Onas mutters as he looks with horror at what is happening. His hand drifts to his belt, seeming to prepare for trouble if it comes.

Onas reaches down an helps Tahata up.

"Yes my friend," he says with a grunt from the strain of helping the big man. "we appear to have been victorious."

Onas returns his wand to his belt and sheaths his dagger.

Onas stepped around the big wolf as he draws a wand from his belt. He gently kicks at Tahata, trying to rouse the big man.

"Come on big guy!" he says. "Time to get up and help your furry friend drop these brutes."

Free action - 5 ft. step, Move Action - Draw wand of snowball, Standard Action - Attempt to wake up Tahata.

Onas quietly moves out from the kitchen and positions himself in line to fire at the witch.

"Maybe," Onas shouts as he casts his spell and reappears. "some snow to go with the icy reception."

Onas silently moves forward near the door leading to the shouting voices.

"Allow me." he whispers to Tahata. "After you big man."

He then prepares to open the door.

move action - approach the door, ready action to open door when Tahata is ready.

Onas' actions remain unchanged of course but I agree with Tahata's plan. Seems like Onas' next actions will be similar as well.

Onas looks back at Tahata as shouting is heard.

"Seems like that's our cue." Then with a quick arcane chant and some gestures, Onas disappears.

"After you big guys." Onas is heard but not seen, then the door opens to allow his friends through.

Standard action to cast Vanish. Move action to open door.

Onas reaches the for the door handle and nods back to his Shoanti friend. He eases the door open, trying to be silent if possible. With his mithral dagger in hand, he steps through into the longhouse.

Onas looks between the Shoanti man and his wolf companion.

"Tahata, glad to have you." he says then motions to the others. "Give a minute or two to get in place. Good luck to us all."

Onas heads off around the longhouse, trying to keep low and silent.

Onas seems distracted by the wolf at his heels.

Onas motions back to the longhouse.

"If we want to take the time, I would say approaching from both angles might be best. I along with someone else who is more sneaky, perhaps Loren, could go around back and try to sneak in. Then shortly after, say five minutes, the rest of you could approach from the front door and see how it goes."

Were there any indication of a window or door around the back of the building?

Onas makes his way back to the group.

"So, it seems they are having a party." he says, clearing up the question of how the alarm didn't alert them. "There appear to be over a dozen men, one who is very tall. It also seems the tall man's wife is there as well. I didn't notice another way in but there were two additional doors that lead further into the back of the building. The doors were closed though, so I can't say what is beyond."

Onas looks around the group for their response.

"Take some cover inside the barriers guys." Onas says softly. I'll see what I can find and let you know."

Onas turns to head back around the side of the building, trying to remain as hidden as possible, but within the barrier. Before he too far though he turns back for a moment.

"Of course, if you hear me screaming come running."

Onas remains silent, hoping to remain hidden as he takes a shot at the leopards with his spell.

Assuming I am within 30 ft with a 5 ft. step. If it will require more movement ignore the snipe attempt.

5 ft step as a free action, standard action to cast acid splash, move action to remain hidden. Or move action to get within 30 ft. (15 ft. to move while stealthing).

Sorry for my delay here. Busy weekend. I will be purchasing cold weather outfit.

Onas examines the runes as well. "They seem related to conjuration in some form, but I am not familiar with them specifically."

"Ayame, should I take a few moments and check out the rest of the area?"

Onas finishes his tea as he listens to the rest of the group.

"It seems," he says. "our little company is set to take out the blood vengeance you are calling for. Loren is correct though, we should see to our own preparations before heading out into the wilderness. I would love to get a look at this holding before we storm in.

Picking up cold weather gear would probably be a good idea.

Onas follows the group into the sitting room and takes a sit when offered. When tea is presented he takes the cup and drinks silently.

Perhaps this leg of the sisters' quest will prove much more simplier.

Onas the quietly thanks the man and lets Ayame take the lead in dealing with the old man.

Onas looks around at his companions and smiles.

"Well, we've put out enough word we are looking for these guides," he says as he folds his hands on the table. "I'd say when they come around they should hear we were looking for them. Perhaps Loren has the right idea. We still have other things to do in this area before we head out. Maybe we focus on those and wait for the guides to find us for now?"

Onas remains seated but looks up at the man.

"My friends here speak the truth." Onas says calmly. "I believe you may be the victim of more than one tragedy."

"We need to keep an eye out though." Onas cautions. "There is someone keeping an eye on us, and I don't think they are a guardian angel."

Onas slips a gold coin out of his pouch and holds it in front of the boy.

"Where is this barrel?" he asks. "Then take this, take care of your 'family', and make yourself scarce for a few days."

After getting when he can from the boy, Onas returns to Loren.

"Loren, I don't think we are going to have much luck in our search for a guide today. Perhaps we should head back to the tavern?"

Assuming the boy gave me the location of the barrel, I would like to head back towards the tavern in a route that would pass by.

Try to make this quick.

Onas seeing the age of the boy begins to rethink his plan.

Well, seems I may have a lot in common with our tail. Perhaps the dawn sometimes smiles with laughter. Here goes I guess.

Onas moves to catch up with the young Tian boy. When Onas is close enough he will step in line with the boy and put his arm around the boy's shoulders in a friendly gesture. With a slight squeeze to drive the point home Onas speaks.

"Tanar," Onas says, "it is so good to finally catch up to you." Then Onas' voice drops to almost a whisper, "I don't wish to harm you boy. Lets join my friend ahead and we can all talk."

If the boy tries to run, Onas will try to keep a grip on him. Making a grapple check, just in case. Not that I feel that will succeed.

No worries here. PBP is slow by nature.

Onas catches Loren's attention for a second.

"I think two people covering different ground may give us a better chance. I'll meet you back at the tavern."

Onas heads off alone down a side street and moves into the crowd.

I want to move off alone and with cover cast vanish, then use traditional stealth to hide better and observe if I can see who may be following us.

Onas leaves with Loren, calling back over his shoulder as he does so.

"I also don't mind sharing a room."

Onas follows Loren's lead, while keeping an eye out for anyone following them. If anyone seems to have more information, or if someone seems a little shady, Onas will try to see if he can find out where someone would go for some secret information.

Not sure of the check needed to locate the local criminal element. Let me know and I can make the check.

"Perhaps as another newcomer I should provide you with some backup?"

Onas leans in as Loren and Durian talk, keeping an ear on the conversation. Then as if he hears something troubling he adds to the conversation.

"Loren, did you happen to hear what this group that is asking about us looks like? Perhaps that may give us an idea of who it may be they are after."

I also must applaud the name of the pub.

"Why split up then? We can handle two goals with one location. Maybe three if we count having a fine drink with new friends."

Onas nods to Durian and motions to Kagyu about joining back with the rest.

Onas smiles at Kagyu, "Guilty my friend! The people of the road are my ancestors, and I seek to follow in their footsteps somewhat."

"And yes, many of the people pay tribute to Desna, though they also honor Shelyn and Erastil almost as equally. My faith though is inspired by the Dawnflower for she has shown me that redemption is possible."
