Pilgrim | Peril (Threshold 7/13/19/25): Unhindered | Damage (Threshold 5/11/17/23): Moderate | Initiative: 7 | Movement: 7 | Fate Points: 1 | Corruption: 6

My apologies, Helix.

Meant to get a post in a few time since your check in...but, no excuses.

Hope you'll reconsider...

Pilgrim | Peril (Threshold 7/13/19/25): Unhindered | Damage (Threshold 5/11/17/23): Moderate | Initiative: 7 | Movement: 7 | Fate Points: 1 | Corruption: 6

Nuriah follows the brine-knight and Reeve over to the scene of murder, exhibiting none of the other wagoner's revulsion of Death.

She advances and crouches before the strangled dwarf, "In these lands, travelling alone is almost a Death sentence," she says over her shoulder to Brunhard and the Reeve .

Pilgrim | Peril (Threshold 7/13/19/25): Unhindered | Damage (Threshold 5/11/17/23): Moderate | Initiative: 7 | Movement: 7 | Fate Points: 1 | Corruption: 6

Nuriah drops the burlap bound package she'd been carrying to the ground, then let her own pack drop as well, gasping with the effort to out run the Gnome.

Looking back, she winces at the terrible lows of pain and panic from the ox, but smiles as Brunhard makes his way out of the cloud of dust.

She plucks her waterskin from her pack, takes a quick drink , then walks and meets the knight-errant half way, offering him the 'skin, "Not quite ready for My Lord's Embrace this day?" she asks , smiling.

Over her shoulder, Nuriah sees Brunhard manage to free the bandit and her heart soars at his bravery in the face of certain Death. But when both fall to the Gnome's savage attack, it takes all she can to not run back to their aid.

They were in the Hooded Man's care now, and she muttered a quiet prayer to guide their passage.

Then she called out to the others, exhorting them to re-double their efforts to escape the creature with as much supplies as they can...

Glad she was able to get at least one of the wagons and animals moving away from the thrashing gnome, Nuriah grabs her pack from a nearby abandoned wagon and the fills her arms with whatever else she can carry, looking over her shoulder at the brave knight...

Nuriah spits dust out onto the ground, the looks up and sees Brunhard standing and actually advancing on the thrashing 'Gnome.

Shaking her head at the man's bravery or idiocy, she gets to her feet, and hustles to a nearby oxen and grabbing its nose ring, begins to haul it away from the monstrosity.

"Help me, grab the other wagons!! We'll need them..." she shouts at any passing wagonners

Nuriah smiles at Hummel, nodding, and closes her eyes for a serene moment, "You do well to honor my Lord. He is with us always, but He stands apart." she says gently, so as to soften any dismay the man may feel that he can find no succor from her God; at least while still alive.

Nuriah had adjusted to the routines of the caravan easily, having not too long ago ventured into the Wastes on her family's own doomed caravan of hope.

She eyed the nearby Wastes with narrowed eyes, realizing she'd not been so close since she took up with Samn. Nodding, she silently thanked her friend for purposefully keeping her from this place for those years; she'd not been ready to face those memories.

As the caravan made its way along the trail, she helped where she could, cooking and helping keep the wagons moving. Only once had she needed to fend of unwelcome advances; a guard ,drunk on grass-wine, had pressed his esteem a bit to far. The large knight, Brunhard, and the elf , even the two lawmen, to her surprise, had helped persuade the man of his error.

After that , she became more comfortable around her fellow travellers, even going so far as to occasionally broach her focus in life; the exploration of the nature of death. She knew that that subject often made other uncomfortable, so she often kept her musings to herself.

Joining the elf and the lawman, Robbet at the campfire, Nuriah poked at the embers with a stick, lost in her own thoughts, before raising her head at Hummel's warning.

Nuriah will join the caravan to Xanaste a few caravan stops south of the port of Einsburg. It will be a caravanserai at a crossroads, where the caravan trail splits to go south towards Xanaste or east.

Having bid farewell to her friend and mentor Samn, Nuriah now found her self travelling alone. The predatory glances and leering stares from some of the caravan merchants and even some of the guards, led her to realize that she's grown quite used to the imposing presence of her friend.

Quickly identifying the most brazen of her 'admirers', she identified both Brunhard and the elf Hedir as ones she might stay close to , even going so far as to introduce herself.

Nuriah's Iconic Trapping will be a small leather bound notebook. With are the approximate locations of many shrines dedicated to the many faces of the Hooded One. The most recent detail a abundance of locations in and in the environs of Xanaste. Earlier additions refer to many places that have disappeared into the fog of antiquity, their ink faded and indistinct. Whether she'll have the opportunity to discover any of those shrines....only fortune will tell.

Alright everybody, RECRUITMENT IS NOW CLOSED. Lots of good stuff to go through, and I'm fine with some touches and tweaks here and there. We'll likely be doing some of that even into the game start, so no worries!

For those still working, I'll give you a grace of about 24 hours--tomorrow I'll be doing a primary sweep of submissions, and I'll do a second go-round on Thursday, so finish anything by then! (If you're on the list of folks in my post from Monday, this applies to you.)

Spazmodeus, I'm fine with you bringing in Nuriah! She was also a lot of fun in that game. Feel free to tweak the background, and you can keep her original rolls if you want--we did all of that by the book.

Super!

I'll tweak the background and clear out anything from the last game from the profile.

Thnx

Helix, would you mind if I brought in this character from the same game Brunhard came from?

I'd keep my characteristic rolls from this thread if you wanted...and tweak the background some...

Nuriah watches intently as Frye tends to Mugrim's wound, trying to follow what he seems to do instinctively, too quickly.

She looks from the tightly bound injury to the man now snoring on the ground with frustration, then turns and help Murgrim get comfortable, before tending the fire, keeping it burning nice and high.

When morning comes, she rises and without complaint, assists the doddering old man with his shirt and robes.

Nuriah stumbles a bit, trying to hold up the solid dwarf, relieved when the warrior takes a knee and drinks deep of his elixir.

"We need a rest after that...." she says, gazing flatly at the over-stung kobold. Her mouth opens to ask the obvious question, but she just shakes her head and digs out the tea for the old man, tossing it into his lap.

She then moves and pulls a old blanket from her rucksack and puts it over Mugrim's shoulders, murmuring, "Come rest by the fire," he murmurs, gently guiding the study dwarf towards the warming flames.

Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Nuriah could hear the sounds of her comrades taking the action to the cultists.

She's about to reluctantly agree to return to the old mill, when the scream rends the twilight.

"What's that they're saying?" she asks more of herself than the others, then nods to Brunhard's suggestion, holding tighter to the donkey's reins.

As they walk she smiles at how hard it was to get a rise out of Brunhard, looking sideways out of the corner of her eye at her friend.

Once seated, she allows her friends to pepper the bar-owner with questions, sipping the fine mead , wondering at the exquisite taste.

Finally a lull in the questions allows one of her own, "The Monastery...Will we have access? I for one would seek entrance to pray and commune with St Maisontaal."

She does though take a sip of her own thin ale at each toast, for to not do so would serve up insult to those to whom she was now joined to by Bardish legalese, but most importantly through blood and death.

Nuriah sits close by Brunhard, picking at a crust of bread, bringing little pieces to her mouth from time to time. She was 18-19, with face that might be pretty if she smiled more. Thin, frail-looking, most mothers looking at her thought she needed to eat more.

As always, she watched the people come and go , her gaze serious, the grey eyes arresting in their intensity as she wondered how Death would take each of them.

As talk returned to matters concerning the Charter, she sighed, that such worldly matters would take her notice away from the ultimate question.

"Probably so we're not hung for brigands," she answers Kurdan, "Mercenary fits , Aurelie, or is the closest fit in my opinion." she says, tucking away a stray strand of her reddish-brown hair, "If we want to be able to earn some coin legal we better get this done. "

Her words make sense, but the others know she chafes against these strictures to hers and their lives.

Pilgrim | Peril (Threshold 7/13/19/25): Unhindered | Damage (Threshold 5/11/17/23): Moderate | Initiative: 7 | Movement: 7 | Fate Points: 1 | Corruption: 6

@Brunhard: That sound fine, just need to figure out how Nuriah got to Virdistan :) I've got an idea forming, just want to get the details right.

GM, does the Nalos originally come from farther South? The Sea of Sand? further?

If you could give me a little more info on them? Thanks :)

Nice Profile layout... I'm going to steal it.

Thanks :) Theft is the most sincere form of flattery :D

Need to clean it up a bit in spots...
