Nugats nods vigorously as Yanndu suggests removing the devil.

Nugats thinks back to his conversation with Hao Jin. Another engram contains elements of my client’s magical theory, and it is in the Stylite. The arbiter winces and looks skyward before pointing to a floating building miles away. There. You should just be able to present your credentials and be done.

Friends, I believe that we just have to present our credentials. TO whom, I am not sure. Where, I have not a clue. Are my credentials worthy enough, not a chance. But where is the fun in adventure if you don't hit a stumbling block or ten? Right?" he takes in the vista enjoying the trills of the heights.

"Greetings, Maker." Nugats extends a hand in between the two on the left, not sure which one to shake. "I am Nugats. You seem to have lots of interesting statues in this garden. Did you make them yourself? I am sure someone that is named The Maker surely made these."

Nugats walks over and places a hand upon one of the statues. "Maker, I am like you. I see piece of metal, shapeless, formless, and can see what it can become. I see the tongues of flames licking up to the sky, and can change it to whirling dervishes of acid. I can see the coldest chunk of ice, and make it into sound waves.

"Without our aid, not only does the beautiful creation die, but lives are lost. No to mention metaphysical ramifications."

Scanning the room intently, Nugats shouts at the Irorian Acolyte "Nod once if you are alone, twice if my life is in peril!"

After leaving Hao Jin

Finally Nugats speaks up. "I have traveled far and wide, but I have never had a feeling like that before. I felt as if there were things that I could not do. Like if I did what I wanted there would be .... what's the word? Consequences. It is unnatural. For me at least." Shaking his head in consternation, he address the group. "I can't believe that was really Hao Jin. The Hao Jin. Never did I think to have contact with her. Fascinating. Perhaps when this is all over I shall endure all this" he waves his hands at the lawness around him "and return to learn from her." He remains mostly silent except for the occasional treats he throws to Luna.

Sorry for ghosting everyone - I was back at work for the first time since March 13 and I have had little time for a real game like this. It is easy to copy/paste my attacks on my other game as it is not as intese. I will get caught up this weekend.

Kudos to you - most GMs would have just ignored it - which in reality is nerfing with a character can actually do. Bravo good sir, bravo!

I'm aware, however, that it significantly slows down the game; for that I apologize to the members of the party who have not had the opportunity to post as much as they could throughout all this.

Nugat beams at the horse. He stops himself as he unconsciously was approaching the steed. His natural curiosity screamed at him to look at the horses' teeth, but his mission edicts loomed large in his mind. He recognized the orsheval from his tutelage at the Acadame.

"Hello friend orsheval. I am Nugats. Why is Axis circular? I would have thought it would have been square with intersecting lines at 90 degrees, and equidistant spacing. Or is it Axis like the spoke of a wheel? That seems a bit to on the nose for people so literal. If so are there concentric circles like layers? I know that Hel .... um other realms have layers. Not much of an urban planner myself." he clears his throat as his stream of conscious comes to an end.

"Bit parched, mind if I take a swallow?" he pulls a skin off his belt and takes a pull.

Nugats looks at the others. So quick to promise, but do they really know what we are getting ourselves into. Rather have a mission to tickle Asmodeus' goatee.

"Keeper Ferqyr, many thanks for your assistance. Though law is not in my nature, I promise to do everything in my power to uphold your precepts and bring honor to the Society."

The entire time Nugats dry washes his hands as he bounces from foot to foot. He looks at Pooka imploringly for help.

"Honestly, there is much in the Tapestry that makes little sense. Creatures with water on their heads, kobolds guarding a library, and rare blooming flowers.

"Honestly, I do this regularly so it won't be a challenge for me. That statement is more for the rest of you." he glances at the Abadaran guides. "If I may ask, where are you taking us? Axis? Is there equipment we should gather before heading there? Can I see into that vault?"

A gnome with multi colored hair saunters in. Without taking his eyes form the new comers he gives Luna a scratch behind the ear. He tilts his head to the side before approaching Ogark. "I have heard of you." he raps his knuckles on the breastplate making a hollow gong sound. "You say you can keep me from the boneyard? I have been too close too many times. Welcome to the group."

The gnome turns to greet the other two. "Greetings Yanndu and Shel. You are most welcome. Have you any experience in the Tapestry? It really is amazing. It seems that the Society keeps sending me in there. I cannot imagine why. I mean I know that I helped Ambrus Valsin organize his papers ... not my fault he feels things should be organized by letters rather than colors.

"Well regardless, it is good to have you here. So what are we about now?"

9,9,8 currently. If we open recruitment we could easily play 10-11. I could bring an 11th level life shaman.

I'll leave that to Rallas and Pooka since they would be the ones playing up.

Cast Mirror Image

OMG this room is terrible! I spent 20 mintues dropping in templates to see what I can cast here. SMH

Taking a step back, Nugats looks around while pulling out his metamagic rod. Rallas on the left flank, Pooka on the right flank, and he and Kenath in the middle with these soulsilver.

He lifts his hand, fingers pointed to the heavens, and begins to cast in the arcane language. Using his admixture ability, instead of steaming, molted jets of hot gas, a frozen geyser the thickness of a man's forearm snakes into the bluish soulsilver in front of him.

Burning Arc COLD DAMAGE Empower: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 6, 5, 4, 5, 6, 6, 3, 2, 4, 4, 3, 5) = 65 DC 20 Reflex save for half

The stream of cold passes right through the bluish soulsilver and arcs to the yellow soulsilver.

So I believe that we have both all the amber shards, and all the texts. What do we do now?

You have two goals on this mission; the first is to search the library’s archives and return with a selection of documents most valuable to the Society; this could contain rare Shu documents many centuries old! The second, which may turn out even more rewarding, is to search for any clues about what happened to Hao Jin, or at least what she was studying at this library.

Hao Jin was from Goka, a city on the continent of Tian Xia. A powerful sorcerer and famous collector, Hao Jin was killed and returned to life several times before she vanished without a trace over 400 years ago.

One of the librarians at this archive was considered an authority on the Great Beyond, and maintained a separate department on the mysteries of the planes that was hidden from normal visitors. I’ve encountered such creatures before and count myself lucky to have survived such encounters. We should preserve that knowledge in case we need to fight such foes again.”

"But what are we to do, reassemble the mirror and fight whatever denizen appears?" the gnome muses out loud.

Nugats grabs another amber shard [ooc]I would have taken the one in the last room after the ants too[/oo]c.

Looking into the bag he thinks that they have enough amber to rebuild the mirror.

"I thought that I saw the mirror frame in the last room. Should we have one last look around before trying to rebuild this mirror?"

Nugats takes a look around. "It can't be this easy - can it?" before approaching the amber.

These are Trapspringer's Gloves. These studded leather gloves look similar to workman’s gloves, though they are reinforced with numerous metal strips that the user can extend or retract as she wills, turning the tip of each finger into a customizable tool useful in examining and disarming traps. Nugats cast Detect magic to try and discern what the gloves, a scroll and two potions are.

"And more amber glass from the mirror."

Looking at the map it seems that both swarms are together - targeting both swarms.

A Nugats looks at the field, he is surprised at the resilience of these swarms. Both times he flung his magics the swarm was able to mitigate of its destructive power.

"Enough." he cries. "You cannot evade my magic forever." with that, another coldball flies from his hands. Sacrificing slow for fireball - Greater Spell Specialization Sacrifice a spell to cast your specialized spell

Coldball: 15d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 6, 1, 2, 6, 3, 5, 1, 5, 6, 2, 2, 3) + 4 = 49 DC21 Reflex

Spreading his hands wide, an arc of cold flies from Nugat's hands towards the Red Swarm.

Burning Hands (cold): 5d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4, 1) + 4 = 16 DC 19 Reflex save for 1/2

Twirling his fingers together, a bit of bat guano falls from Nugats. A small ball of ice flies towards the swarm, becoming larger and larger.
