I bought the print and PDF and after looking over the PDF I am underwhelmed. The images are lower resolution that I would expect and it is a really weird adventure. Not bad, but it would have been just cool to have rules to make your own Warframe. It was pretty disappointing, and I honestly regret my purchases.
I mean they were pretty clearly explicit about what the adventure was.
I was just hoping for rules to make your own Warframe, but as for rules, there are really none. Just some pregens, couple maps and the descriptions of the rooms. I guess it is good I am only out under $30 for the PDF and physical copy. Maybe they will be a collector's item in 10 years like some of the Pathfinder 1st Ed APs.

The feat says it makes you large and +5 ft to reach. Is the intention to increase your size category by one or is it RAW? I ask because I was thinking about making a dragonkin corpsefolk, and it would be neat if this feat made them huge instead of large.
Yeah it says that it increases your size to large and adds 5 to your reach. I am wondering if it was just an oversight and should say that it increases your size one catagory.
I think the idea gives to much away, does it really take someone to read the whole AP on their own to decide chronicle boons, or couldn't we just ask a writer to pick something special from the adventure they wrote and put it on? It doesn't have to be good. There are several chronicles with nothing good on them, but it is the thought that counts imo. Same for the description. Writer can't write an abstract?
BUT I see a compromise will have to be made and people with more AP experience than I do are behind this so I will accept this is the compromise that people are behind and will support it as well. This is a small offering to players and GMs that their time was valued.
I do agree that it really does give too much away, but I also see the proposed alternative as an "alright" compromise. It really isn't too much when making a chronicle to shoot the author an email or message and ask "hey what is the coolest/most important part of the adventure?" and then put a blurb on a chronicle.
Here I was hoping that they would reverse course and announce that Starfinder APs would in fact be sanctioned for OP like Pathfinder has and continues to get sanctioned APs.
I mostly think it's confusing. Murder on Metal City at the end suggests you continue your campaign after by doing SFS, but also if you swap to running SFS scenarios, none of the XP the characters get transfers at all, unless the advice is supposed to be to run society without running society, which I think it's a bit odd
More than confusing. You get character options in the adventure Murder on Metal City, but no credit for running or playing in it. Taking out adventures for credit is a serious issue because that is a massive change to how organized play has been run for the past, I dunno, 15 years?
I think we really need to hear from the higher-ups at SFS because this sounds pretty bad. If this is the case, I don't really see myself participating in SFS anymore, which is a damned shame.
I guess my Outlaws of Alkenstar will be my last AP in campaign mode.
This is a huge change about not having campaign mode credit for AP completion, about 90% of my participation in SFS and PFS was campaign mode playing the APs and having super sweet and stacked level 13 characters.
Still considering whether or not it is worth it to subscribe to Paizo or support them.
Yeah it is totally worth it because just at face value, subscriptions give you a free PDF in addition to the physical book. Sometimes your order gets generated towards the 1st part of the month, sometimes during the end of the month. I am just sad that I will have to wait to get my physical because I prefer the Pocket Editions, so they will get PDF money from me as well as physical.
As much as I love that getting new options for VTTs is great, buying into an ecosystem can get expensive. Having bought into Fantasy Grounds and Foundry, it would take something SERIOUS to move me to a new platform when I have so much money tied up in TWO VTTs.
I also just don't like that by funneling stuff into Pathfinder/Starfinder Infinite you won't be allowed to port the content to other VTTs, only to Roll20.
A lot of stuff sold on PFI is already available in FoundryVTT too. PFI doesn't lock you to Roll20.
Pretty sure that section 4 of this post suggests otherwise.

It really is a pain in the butt, because you can assume that much of the setting is restricted material: vesk, Barathu, Basatha, Lashunta, Pahtra, Shirren, Skittermander, Ysoki, Borai, and Prismeni. All from the playtest book, only two of them have "open" names: Android and Human.
It goes WAY beyond having to call the Drift "hyperspace" or any other generic term.
Nobody seems to really know what words are allowed and what aren't. The ORC license itself doesn't answer that question.
The various examples of projects that have gone down the renaming route - the SRD listed above, Pathbuilder - just serve to show how treacherous this path is, given that they have obvious errors.
So unless you're willing to simply trust that Paizo don't care, it's not an option; and I'm afraid my reserves of blind trust are a lot lower since the OGL crisis.
Your Patreon post made me aware of this and I find the idea that I might not get Starfinder 2.0 Dyslexic Sheets absolutely frustrating.
Oh, in that case, no, and you should contact customer service. My order has both the Starfinder playtest rulebook and the playtest adventure (though the order has not yet shipped).
Yeah I put in a ticket yesterday. Lets see if they get back to me before next week.
I am confused. I got my email for the order of the Starfinder Playtest Adventure but I have not gotten the email about the Playtest Rulebook yet. Are they sending them out separately?
They are releasing playtest rulebook PDF for everyone simultaneously. There was an announcement up thread as well as an email that said:
Paizo email wrote:
We hope you're just as excited about the new playtest as we are! As we've done in the past for previous playtests, the PDF of the Starfinder Second Edition Playtest Rulebook will be free for everyone to download. This means that as a subscriber, it won't automatically be granted with your purchased order.
Starting on August 1st, you can follow this link to get your PDF for free:
https://www.starfinderplaytest.com
Thank you so much for following us on this new journey, we can't wait for what's in store.
I was talking about the hardcover edition, not the PDF.

So when you say 2 to 4 releases per year, are APs just not happening anymore or are they just going to all be released in 1 big book instead of 6 monthly books?
They have been single books for over a year now.
Well, that is not really something that was a thing until the whole ORC thing and then the immediate wind-down of Starfinder 1. Just happened to be the last couple APs that were compilations. Are they doing this with the Pathfinder AP line or is Starfinder just getting the shaft here?

I got an email that said the AP sub was merging with the Adventure line. Does this mean I won't get my monthly AP books in the mail anymore? Are they just waiting until all 6 of the books are done, then combining them into a hardcover?
I like the monthly goodies, and I tend to shy away from hardcovers because they are big and bulky. Heck, even my main books are the pocket editions.
With the economy being that ships do not cost money and cannot be sold for money, the economy would need to significantly change to make more sense to me.
As it stands, the galaxy pretty much is at a point of post-scarcity, so that there is no fundamental reason why anyone could just not own a ship and parse the galaxy through the drift. Heck, the entire Fly Free AP, all you end up getting is build points, which cannot be exchanged for credits, thus you cannot really get wealthier.
This to me is the fundamental problem with the Starfinder Economy. No one goes hungry, UPBs cost 1 credit so there is no real reason to ever get credits because you can make/buy anything with the magic pieces of nanotech.
With it being at the end, my group just finishing up Horizons of the Vast, we are now going to Pathfinder 2E to get a feel for the rules. Sad day when the baton gets passed.
TIt's about disrupting the cycle of souls and damaging the fabric of reality (according to Phrasma at least.)
I don't trust Phrasma because she has a vested interest in the "flow of souls." I mean, what if we have a culture that reveres undead in a completely normal, non-evil, way?
I remember seeing this in a GURPS product where a Christian sect in Banestorm celebrated creating undead because of "Saint Lazarus" and it was in fact a sacrament to create the skeletal workforce.
It is my understanding that Pharasma does not care one bit whether undead do good or do evil. She just wants them all gone.
Yeah, which is kinda messed up because 99% of undead, either intelligent or mindless, did not choose to become undead.

I have a question since I really haven't done society stuff since Season 1.... what ever happened to the AbyssHead download that was in 1-06?
