"Sounds good Mornaura, should we wait on them to report back, or head down these stairs? I do not see an entrance to the building on this side, and I will for sure not be able to scale this wall without making a LOT of sound."

"Retreat? From banishing these foul undead!? Never. I am no Pharasman, but they are a mockery of natural life. Erastil demands their destruction!" attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
If zombie destroyed, move to the next one.

"Aye, much better with the bow there days, praise Erastil. I could call the wrath of my lord upon the lookout to assure his swift elimination, but I am only able to do so once per sunrise. If I do it now, we will not have it against the Stag Lord himself."

"Aye. These are bandits who have shown no compassion to anyone. My stance remains that they have chosen this path and they will have to suffer the consequences. Morn, I will not finish off any bandits who surrender, fall unconscious or succumb to your sleep spells, but I will be shooting regular arrows, not blunt ones." "Of course, I am not that great at sneaking in, but if bingo wants to go and recon the place, that is good with me."
M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1
"I am fine with that if everyone else is. As long as Bingo can see well enough in the dark to sneak in. Looks like most of the bandits so far are human, so I doubt we would have too much trouble sneaking in unless they cover the place in torchlight."

"Aye, sounds good." Norn will approach the unicorn and pick him up. He drags it over out of the blighted valley and finds a spot for it where the body is hidden, but would be recognizable to us if we try to once again find it. "Really wish I had a spell to preserve it's corpse, just in case, but we will have to do with what we got" Back to the party, Norn looks down at the map. "The route works for me, but what about east until we hit the plains of the Kamelands and then head south? Looks like we will have to move through uncharted territory either way, but plains would be quicker, even if just a small amount." Nodding at Kaeso, "Kaeso, I say you and I ride ahead of the group, maybe a few horse-lenghts, in case there are traps or ambushes set for us?"

Norn looks down at the battle plans and nods. "Sounds good. I am prepared to take the fight to them. Seems the fastest way would be to travel through all the areas we have already explored, as we know the trails and we can make better time. Are you sure we want to stop at the temple and the boggard? Seems like if we take care of the heart of the problem quickly, the arms and legs would take care of themselves..."

"Obviously the statue of Erastil is too large to move here. Dris, I know you feel strongly about the order of nature, but maybe the best way of action is to take him to the glade where we found the statue. Erastil, lord of the wild and the hunt, can look over his body. His soul should have moved on already. And it looks like the land here will not take him. Not to the earth, not to the First World, or to Pharasma's embrace. " "Up to you all of course, but I would hate to leave this creature be in this soiled land."

"Erastil is not so bad, Ionnia." says Norn with a grin. "I mean Shelyn is a bit more aloof and care-free, but what would you expect from a godess of art and music and such. She even has Paladins, which means our interests are not that misaligned. Halflings like Bingo even revere him as more of the god of community and family than nature and the hunt. Very nice fellow. Of course, it looks like he DID turn that old cleric into a bear... Does seem kind of harsh for a good deity." Norn goes and enjoys some lunch.

"I think you already missed the man-wrestling, Bingo." Getting late, Norn will set up his bedroll up at the mouth of the cave. He will leave his armor and weapons nearby, and hope to catch a good night's sleep. Should be easy with such a full belly. "Long day that was. But looks like we are making progress. Still worried about this Stag Lord character, but we will get to him shortly."

"Well met, friend. Well? Next steps? I guess we wait on Mornaura to be back and we depart again in the morning? We still have supplies for a few day's travel." says Norn. In jest, he adds "Well ladies, I apologize for denying you the shirtless wrestling, but Kaeso has to change into that new magical armor pretty soon..."
M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1
Norn lifts both his hands and shrugs after Mornaura's exit. "Oy, that was pretty good Ionnia. Kaeso, come take this armor." Trying to liven up the mood a bit, when Norn takes the armor over to Kaeso, he takes a swing at wrestling Kaeso anyway. CMB to grapple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 versus Kaeso's flatfooted CMD of 18. Sadly, Kaeso proves more than a tough opponent, and Norn falls flat on his ass. "Ah well, I was going to give it to you anyway." says Norn, stretching his hand out to Kaeso to help him up.

If Kaeso has regular scale then he should have it as he is most likely in the front. I thought he had bought better already, but maybe not :D maybe once he gets better, he can give me that one as a hand-me-down. "Aye, I think we are are set to continue on. Any thing else to do here before moving on?" says Norn, already mounted on his horse.
M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1
"Well if Kaeso doesnt want it, I happen to be wearing a regular suit of scale. Old armor this is. Given to me as a lad to help hunt for food in the forest for the monks. It has seem some action, albeit only against wild bests and unruly game."
M Human Paladin 3 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | HP 25/25 | F +8 R +8 W +7 | Init +4 | Perc +1
Activating Rapid Shot, starting with the one on my side of Kaeso. At least with Kaeso down I dont have to apply cover... :P atk 1: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 18
damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
I'll move up 5' to block Dris from another Pounce. "Ionnia, I hope you brought some bandages..."

Norn seems uneasy with the theological debate, and sits down at the fountain's edge. He says a quick prayer, and starts to secure his horse's gear and saddle. "Seems we have a plan, yes? Mikmek, you are to deliver Drispeera's note up to Oleg's. You can decide with Jhod if you want to wait for us there to escort him or if he wants to come here by himself. We will go back to Oleg's through the temple so we will not miss you. We should be along in hopefully a week's time."

After spending a few minutes waiting for our cleric's tasty grub to cook, Norn approaches the group with the bear guardian's story: "I have been reading this journal, and honestly, looks like the Stolen Lands is full of sad tales. Reminds me a little of the purple gnome we defeated a few days ago." "First, this man's name is not in his journal, but it is clear that he was once the keeper of this temple when it was in use. The temple itself was once a small but well-tended shrine to Erastil, the 'Temple of the Elk' has stood abandoned for many years since Taldor’s last attempt to occupy this region. Unfortunately, this last keeper of the shrine went a little mad after he finally admitted to himself that the indigenous tribes of trolls, savage humanoids, and other monsters had 'won' and would drive the Taldan colonists out." "Frustrated, the cleric lured a large bear to the temple and sacrificed it in the name of 'any who would answer the call' to aid against the humanoids. His lack of faith in Erastil proved his undoing, and the god of the hunt drove the priest mad, and stripped him of his abilities and even his humanity. The mad priest became a large grizzly bear to replace the one whose life he had sacrificed, and Erastil granted him immortality in his new form but not enough intellect to make much of it, forcing him to remain at the site as a guardian until someone worthy of Erastil could come to lift the curse. It looks like he lost his ability to read and write shortly after his transformation, and I would have to guess that his speech followed after as well."

Norn takes a better stance, and fires a volley at the bear! Rapid shot:

"Well met indeed. Although Shelyn is a little aloof for my taste, she still for the most part stand with the forces of good. If adventure is what you are after, I do not think you will be disappointed." After dinner, Norn goes back to the makeshift archery range that Kresten and his guard have been using to take some practice shots.

Norn rummages through his pack to find the statue. "Not a problem." He chucks it at Kaeso, who catches it easily. "I guess we should get going." Norn breaks down his tent, and double checks that Mikmek did not help himself to any rations that night.
