

I rolled up a character for a Mummy's Mask AP before that never took off the ground and loved the idea, Human Bladebound/Kensai. I know the Bladebound/Kensai combination is pretty common but I've yet to play one and really loved the idea of the Bladebound weapon having intelligence. I figured it would fit into the campaign since he wouldn't get his weapon until level 3 and it could be "found" within whatever dungeon that we're exploring. In the other campaign I had even come up with the idea for it to be "cursed" in the sense that it might attach itself to him or something, causing that to become a plot point for my character.
The character hasn't been developed in awhile but here's what I can fill out of your application form and more can be added if this character sounds like he's on the right track for your campaign.
1) I'd like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five: A greedy treasure hunter who comes across a fancy sword, only to find out that it's cursed and is now part of him.
2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game: Find enough treasure to buy his own ship. Get rid of his cursed blade.
3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling: He keeps to himself that he betrayed his last group of friends since he doesn't want to be kicked out (and also doesn't betray them for that reason, so there will be no betrayal in-game from me). The secret kept from the PC, and also the one kept from me, can be tied into his Bladebound weapon.
4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five. PLEASE consider the players reference guide for ideas: As a treasure hunter I wanted him to have lots of enemies but we can settle for 2/5 being enemies. No Levar used to have a team he rolled with but ended up betraying them and disappearing. Two members (who I can come up with) hate him and want to hunt him down while the last member is actually his brother (or sister) who still cares for him but can't overlook his betrayal. Not quite hatred though. Will come up with 2 remaining people.
5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission: The memory of No Levar turning his back on his friends and running off with their loot. The memory of watching his parents being killed by orcs.
6) Finally, I'd like you to include with your submission a fear or paranoia that causes your character to shiver, cower, or panic. Anything from spiders to unexplained happenstance, but I'm sure you'll all come up with some awful stuff on your own: We'll go with a classic "orcs killed my parents" routine which causes him to react quite negatively to that particular race.

Sensing trouble, No Levar will quietly stay with the group as they interrogate the men while his eyes wander around at the various piles of junk and scans for anything lurking beneath. No Levar gets up and waits for the others to enter the building first, reminiscing of his years with the Githyanki. Little did he know that in his near future, the price for his life will be revealed clearly.

Since they were getting to know each other and waiting to go inside, No Levar took the time to rest his legs a bit and found a place to sit down and drop his backpack to the ground. "Enough about me, what is your interest with the Githyanki? Aren't they your people?"

He looks down at his clothes, still stained with the river of blood and gives out a large sigh as he realizes he isn't making a good impression with his attire and decides to tug off his shirt and let it fall to the ground. No Levar now stands only wearing a pair of loose billowy pirate pants with his wits and reflexes as his armor, hand still resting lightly on the only companion he has had through his travels, his sword.

No, oblivious to the current plan since he was away from Cedric when they got their orders to find the patrol, finally makes his way to the construct-gnome while chit-chatting with the somewhat-Githyanki. He pushes his way through the crowd in his blood-stained clothes from the red rivers of the last plane they were on, while turning occasionally to address Lun. "I died. Something happened when I died and I was lost on the Astral Plane. The Githyanki found me in my time of need and helped me understand my new abilities."

Thanks! Yeah I went back and read up on the character I based this off of and apparently I was way off on the storyline, haha. I don't know where it got so warped but I like my background even more now since it is based off of.... nothing.

He was still covered in blood from both rivers, and his sawtooth blade stained with the fiend from earlier. The heat from this plane forced him to abandon his shirt long ago, now just standing bare with his talents and gifts to prevent him from harm.
He kept his eyes locked with the other as they approached closer and got within shouting range, "Out of our way. I've seen enough blood for one day."
