Ow.

We will probably be legendary tier if we currently qualify for paizo advantage. Which will mean we keep our 15% discount. But it's tied to that $750/year threshold now instead of having 4 subs.

That's fair. I'm at six subs and I strongly suspect that Paizo gets $750 annual from me already and I'm fine with that to be clear lol.

I'll need more information (which will be coming in the near future it sounds like) but I'm probably a niche/smaller population all things considered. I do believe this will probably continue to be a net positive for most Gamers :D

Actually, I think I'm back to not being thrilled about this.

The Society things not being automatic and instead having to spend the Gold/Loyalty program points manually is annoying, but I was already thinking about "Oh, but I can use discounts on things like Novels now" too.

However, Advantage is going away entirely? So I will need to earn 500 gold/spend $500.00 to get a 10% discount on a single purchase when I currently have a Global 15% discount which itself applies to my subscriptions?

So instead of getting the society pdfs free and automatically for subscribing I now have to micromanage it myself? And THIS is the solution you chose to develop? Way to go 21st century tech with 19th century customer service.

I feel SO rewarded for for being a subscriber since almost the first month your subscriptions existed.

This was my initial gut reaction too, but tbh I think this actually does end up working out to a "better value" minus having to pick up the Scenarios yourself versus them automatically being delivered to your Digital Content library. You're still fully able to pick up Society for free given the Gold to Discount options, but you now have the ability to apply the discounts on other products too.

You lose the ease of automatic, but now actually get some choice too. Plus, it means Paizo gets some better metrics on whose actually picking up Scenarios, which ones are more popular, etc.

I think I'm likely going to be one of the rare people where the move from Advantage to Plus is an overall negative, but I *suspect* that for *most* people this will be a positive move, so I get it!

Edit*: Having reread I *believe* this will mostly end up the same for me? I have six active subscriptions and while I won't get Society scenarios automatically via the free subscription now they should end up free anyway with the Gold discounts. It just goes from a passive/automatic thing to having a slight inconvenience of having to manually purchase/redeem to pick them up.

Thanks for taking the time to make a post about these topics. As consumers none of us ever look forward to costs increasing, however you laid out the "why" in a manner that shows that it's not a situation of "because we would like more $".

You know, that's a fair feeling to have. I'm the opposite personally where the sheer scale of what magic had access to based on the games 3.5 root DNA really turned me off on magic users in general.

In less far fetched requests (one day Demolitionist archetype, one day), I would really like to see the return of Vanity Boons like we had in PF1. They were one of my favorite things in the original OrgPlay system and I used them to great effect to add customization and depth to my characters backstories and personalities.

PF supports this.

All TTRPG's can be tailored to your table preferences.

But as people have pointed out, alignment is so ingrained into mechanics it makes it difficult or nearly impossible even to play without alignment. Not only is there alignment damage but there are spells, feats and other things based entirely on or around alignment

Play another game that better suits your wants, or run the game as GM and customize the mechanics to your liking.

Just wanted to drop my $0.02 because it seems to be the thing here.

If your response to someone playing a character that has a disability is "I don't like that they don't have enough negative consequences associated with this disability" then you're unlikely to be part of the target audience that Paizo hopes to cultivate within the community.

I would tell you to touch grass, but we all know that's not in the cards. However, I'm glad that you're in enough of a positive situation that you're able to fixate on how you might homebrew consequences onto other Players.

Love,
NightTrace

I put the following:

I'd like to see fully automated intergalactic gay space communism. If this is not possible I would like to attack and dethrone Abadar.

Yeah, there's still a highly infectious disease that's ongoing and that means limiting the scale/scope of everyone's physical presence at the convention.

Heck, there are actually two now! So, maybe dwell on that for a little while and consider why things may have seemed smaller than usual.

Edit: You do know there were *GAP* tables specifically to keep tables at safe distances right? Are you "disappointed" that there were enforced safety precautions???

In retrospect, it might have been more a "hire a potential candidate for President" while you a) get him up to speed on the company and b) evaluate him to make sure you want to give him the job.

That's possible. I admit to pessimism here.

Good Afternoon,

I just wanted to follow up on this. Hopefully, this type of feedback can be helpful?

When addressing someone's stated concerns about the environment (in this case, the forums), it is useful to acknowledge the validity of the persons concerns and address the topic that's been brought up (in this case, the environment of the forums).

Stating that you are apologetic that they *feel* a certain way isn't a helpful thing. It sidesteps addressing the topic that is actually under question and instead communicates that the issue was the person's feelings.

Thank You,
Brendan aka NightTrace

Then make a cost for the Rare ones, but make it accessible still.

One of the biggest things 2E has going for it compared to competitors is the Ancestries.

It feels like a self own at this point.

Honestly with 2E math removing Ancestry as an avenue for breaking things (so far) why is the idea of forced scarcity still in play?

In character the Society is a world spanning organization with lodges everywhere.

Out of character we buy the books to play the things.

Heck, use the Rarity tags. Uncommon? Just make it available, why not?

Rare? Make it 60-80 if a cost is needed.

Unique? Its not available.

Do that, bring back vanities. :P
