That is totally fair too. I know I'm making a new character for these. I love the interactive nature that Starfinder is taking with Org Play!!

I can't really speak to your point because the point is super broad and I largely disagree. Do you have a specific element that you feel you're missing?

I think it's worth pointing out too that some of the "rare" options are actually mechanically different or in some cases "better".

Sawtooth sabres are a very restricted item, but they're also the highest damage dice on a 1-handed agile weapon too *and* the only weapon with the Twin trait. If access was not restricted, they would likely end up being the only choice for TWF characters.

Sounds to me like they're Chelaxian citizens who are now working against Thrune from within the country taking after the lessons of the Silver Ravens. :)

Well that's a nothing-burger of a description.

Also, the SRs per this blog post have retreated behind their borders and are not attempting to export the revolution. So that's the Adventurer's Guide retconned too.

It says the SR's aren't actively doing so, but the Firebrand writeup to me sounds like an organization that learned from the actions of the Glorious Reclamation and the Silver Ravens and are using guerrilla tactics within the borders while supported by other groups and nation-states.

I think it’s been so long since any of them did any 4E design work, it’s far more likely to be the former. Especially given the team-based, iterative design approach they took with PF2.

Tbh I would likely build a Rogue and then take Wizard Dedication and just be very judicious in picking out the spells I memorized. If you go Wizard w/ Rogue Dedication you're never going to get better than 1d6 Sneak Attack where as if you go Rogue with Wizard you can scale Sneak Attack to full and just limit your spell choices.

I guess really it just depends on what you want to focus on?

For those who start with what class you want to play, this is actually fully described as part of Step 1, determining your concept. The ABC mantra is there to help you select things in a simple order once you have your concept in mind, or to help you develop that concept if it is not entirely clear to you.

Step 1 actually covers a variety of common ways that you might employ to find your character concept. Basing it off a particular ancestry, background, or class is presented right alongside the group generation approach where everyone figures out what concept they want to play together.

Hope that helps

Yep, You can ABC, ACB, BCA, BAC, CAB, or CBA, for determining the actual character and then ABC just lets you process flow for the sheet :D

Origins was a great source for this.

We launch our attack! Oh no, a Jinsul scout ship breaks off and is going to give our position away to their fleet, we give chase through the drift! Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, we get stomped on and with our last options being an attempt to run or go for it, I (as pilot) pull off a fly-by and we drill the scout in the rear arc resulting in a double-disable.

Bringing a vehicle to any non-Vehicle scenario is a recipe for fun! So, I bring a police cruiser with me, and while the Jinsul attack in their own cars, I auto-disable one while the other eats a sticky grenade in the interior. 4 Jinsul come rushing out and end up forming a perfect "Arrowhead" formation, which I then drive straight over, with my passenger leaning out the window with a tactical semi-auto to finish one of them off!

edit: Oh, and later on when we were fighting off two Jinsul ships in space, we ended up wrecking one but in the resulting chaos one of our missiles veered off and ended up getting a kill at a neighboring table :D

Personally I could see it being something like a Three Action setup and have it be a feat available to any class that has spells.

Quote:
Spell Strike: Chose *an appropriate style spell* and make an attack with a weapon you are currently wielding, if the weapon attack hits the spell also goes off.

So, full round but you get a single attack (so no multi-attack penalty) that does Weapon Damage + Relevant Stat + Spell Damage + Any additional riders.

That means if you do Crit on your attack, everything goes off all in one go.

Am I missing why this wouldn't work? I could see a Rogue multi-classing Wizard (or the reverse) being super fun with this.

Plus, it would make a "Magus" feel neat as a niche in being about hitting as hard as possible with a single attack while opening it up to not being arcane specific either. You could have Occult, Divine, Arcane...that other list spellswords and whatnot and it would work to make an Arcane (or Divine, etc) Archer too.

Yeah, kinda like that. Lizardfolk are a thing in Pathfinder already but they have had very little emphasis placed on them, and in "D&D"/"TTRPG"s in general they have a tendency to be background antagonists that don't get a lot of focus outside of tribal levels normally.

Deciding to put a new emphasis on a humanoid race that doesn't have a lot of existing canonical baggage within the system or historical stereotypes from other IPs makes them an engaging choice as a writer. They're not an explicit blank slate, but they're open enough to interpretation that you can make them your own. :)
