Great job! I am just starting the GM school GM Redalia offered recently. I look forward to GMing my own PbP. Everything looks good on my chronicle.

Seeing the first axebeak crumple beneath the rest of the party's onslaught, Nei-lung shifts forward 5-foot step at attacks the remaining bird.

Nei-lung chants an incantation while running the palms of his hands down each forearm. "Changtu bashe".Cast longarm. Reach increases by 5 feet. Suddenly, his arms magically grow longer, giving him a very strange look, indeed. He moves up closer in anticipation of unleashing monkish fury against the fowl beast.

Nei-lung grimaces as the bird's sharp beak slashes into him. Realizing he is at a huge disadvantage, he tries to stand up, Move action, provokes then tumbles back away from the bird, trying to avoid its menacing beak move back 15', acrobatics to avoid AOO, hopefully higher than a 1 this time!

Glorne always has his Ice Shield floating around him unless he is asleep. Everyone please check to make sure you re-set your taglines. Everyone should have been healed and daily use items re-set.

"Oh, no, Mi'lord. There are no servants. It is just us. Servants would only slow us down and prove to be a liability in the field. We must decide first what we are going to do. If we stay here, we must first clean the area of the blood and gore, else it attracts scavengers and vermin. Especially since the werewolf's evil aura no longer protects this area. If we choose to move on, there will be a hard hike until we locate a place suitable enough to make camp. We may not be able to stop until after nightfall." He starts gathering things up as he continues to speak.

"Then, after setting camp, we need to establish watch for the night. Each member takes their turn to keep watch in case nocturnal fiends decide to descend upon us in our sleep." He looks straight at Lander. "I, for one, have been killed once already." He visibly shudders at the memory. "I have no desire to meet another belligerent stone giant with a lucky streak." He turns back to his task. "I was only lucky myself that I had enough connections and gold to have my faction raise me after my travelling companions brought my body back."

Due to completed faction goals, Nei-lung will auto-aid on Dante's diplomacy roll.

@GM Pendrak -- Do you think there's a chance we'll be finished before next Saturday? I was hoping to play this character at my FLGS. If not, I'll just have to choose a different one.

Nei-lung studies the man for a moment, contemplating his words. ”I can accept failure, man. Everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. And right now, I don’t believe you are trying very hard to save your skin.” He takes a rope from his pack and throws it at the bandit’s feet. ”I think we should tie him up, and leave him here. Let him fall to nature’s cycle now that the evil influence of the werewolf is gone from this place.” He turns and walks to the tent and enters. Seeing his companions at ease around the disheveled young man, he takes him for the wayward son they have been sent to find. He bows.
”Well met, Lord Lebeda. I see your adventuring days are paying well, so far.”

"The universe does not like secrets, that is why they weigh so heavily on one's soul. Relieve your soul. Tell us these supposed 'secrets', and we will decide then what we may do with you."

As the flames disappear from Nei-lung's limbs, he surveys the scene. He had heard of werewolves, of course, and various other lycanthropes, but never actually encountered one before. If this one is any indication of what they are capable of, I think I would be fine if I never met another. If I do, hopefully it will be on our side.
He walks over to the remaining bandit. Kicking his blade further away from him, he stares the bandit down. ”’It is when we hurt that we learn.’ I hope you have hurt enough to learn to cooperate. Tell us what is in the tent, truthfully, before my allies here feel you have not learned enough.”

Oh, wow. That was sad. I guess the lawful monk wasn't convincing that he would be part of killing an unarmed person.

Nei-lung repositions himself to the right, hoping to get into a more advantageous position against the terrible creature in front of him. I see I must concentrate on my strikes more. This creature has a tough hide. Nei-lung once again tries to bring down the werewolf with a series of blows aims at its stupid face! Continuing elemental assault, round 3/5.

Still wondering how the dastardly dude managed to avoid him the first time, Nei-lung decides to step forward once again, attempting to unleash a swarm of attacks against the bandit leader. All non-lethal.

In contrast to Graxzos' appearance, the man striding into the room is tall, clothed in the simplest of clothing, and has not a single hair on his head. His skin has a slightly greenish tone to it, and the skin around his eyes almost appear to show signs of...scales?
"Dame Lebeda, it is said "blood is thicker than water", although I prefer to add water seems to come between blood far too often. We will assist you, indeed it is the reason we are here. But, I believe, we would still assist you otherwise."

I would prefer the first option, as I wouldn't want this character tied up in PbP for more than 2 sessions.

I just realized I have already played On the Border of War with a different character. I would still like to play Horn of Aroden and let someone else step in for Border of War, but I will understand if you would rather have all characters be the same for both scenarios. My idea is this: I really like Brevoy, and I'd like to run Horn of Aroden leading into On the Border of War. In order to manage this, we'd need four to six characters that are between level 4 2/3 and 5 2/3, such that we can play the 4-5 subtier in Horn of Aroden, and then the 5-6 subtier in On the Border of War. If we can't find enough 4 2/3 players, I'd be willing to extend the "campaign" slightly and include a few River Kingdoms scenarios, in order to take 4.0 or 4 1/3 players up to the appropriate level (as long as that doesn't over-level other people for Horn of Aroden). This is all assuming I'm doing my math right.

Would anyone be interested in adventuring in Brevoy?

Figured I'd gauge interest here first before doing anything else.

I believe I have a monk 4/sorcerer 1 that would fit this range. I think I am two XP from getting to 6 and prestiging into Dragon Disciple. I would have to double-check when I get home, though.

The bad apple must be removed to save the rest of the harvest. We are not here to spoil the grand legacy of General Arnisant. The man was a true hero, and you are right to honor him. However, we are here at the behest of a concerned citizen of Ridonport, fearing that this man has been abusing his power. Our goal is not to spread lies or rumors, but rather to strengthen. 'A bundle of sticks is not easily broken.' Fine, proud people of Ridonport, you are those sticks. Together you are strong. But, allow one fractured twig, it will weaken the rest of the bundle, regardless of the family tree it came from."

Nei-lung stops and closes his eyes. He thinks back to his monk's training before he left Nagaja. A man must not only master his body, but also his mind. A fool speaks what he knows, a wise man knows what he speaks. How do you argue with a fool? And he finds his answer. He speaks aloud to himself, though those close to him can hear his words.
"To argue with a fool is to prove there are two."
His consciousness returns across the years to the here and now as his eyes snap open, though only a couple of seconds have passed. He looks back to the earl, his voice calm, almost imploring the Earl to see reason.

"Earl, you know the evidence is against you. You know the evidence is in the hands of the very person you yourself called an 'honest and scrupulous officer of the law'. Please, for the sake of the people whom you claim to be proud Taldans, do not continue to insult their intelligence. Have some pride in yourself. 'To make a mistake and not correct it is to make another mistake'."

”It is not for men to decide they are great. That is a decision left for others. General Arnisant was one of those men, as the statue left in his honor attests. But this man standing before you today has placed an image of himself in the museum, a museum dedicated to preserving the glory and history of Taldor. And now he introduces a holiday that will bring more ‘honor’ to himself, not Taldor. How many of you knew of this celebration beforehand, or even heard tell of it? ‘You cannot propel yourself forward by patting yourself on the back, nor does a large chair make a king’” Nei-lung pauses here to let the words sink in.
“If you examine the evidence, evidence that Magistrate Joleana has, you can plainly see this man, a man claiming to be as worthy of the General he is descended from, has stolen from Ridonport, secretly increased taxes and used these ill-gotten gains to pay for pirates to steal from your neighbors.
”It is said ‘Boasting begins where wisdom stops.’ Go into the museum and engage with the painting Earl Vernisant has had placed in there, a painting that is said to reflect the ‘glory’ of the earl, and see how wise he appears. Truly great people do not need to go around telling everyone how great they are.”

Nei-lung moves among the increasing crowd, trying to overhear bits of conversation. What exactly is this celebration for? And why now, just after we have found evidence that points to the Earl's involvement in illicit activities?

You would think none of us has ever had to stage a sting against pirates before...

”I am sorry,” Nei-lung admits. “I am not knowledgeable enough in such things to know what to do. My first thought would be to take these smugglers back to Ridonport. We have, after all, been deputized, and as such should be strict upholders of the law. I do not believe we should let any of them go free. They must answer for their crimes, whatever their reasons for them. However, I believe your idea has merits, Q’lack. An opportunity to catch the other end of this nefarious scheme is almost too good to pass up. How to execute the plan, though…” His voice trails off. Subterfuge and deception is not this monk’s strong point.

I had the extreme pleasure of not only playing that scenario, but got to have it GMed by the author, Nathan King.

Walking over to Q'lack, Nei-lung taps him with the wand. "You will detect as evil for a short while, friend, but you will feel much better in a moment." Q'lack regains 10 hp after one minute.

"A dead man may have an interesting story to tell, but no one may be able to tell it as well." Nei-lung takes out his Wand of Infernal Healing and taps the two unconscious pirates with it.

Sensing the creature in front of him has a thicker hide than he originally thought, Nei-lung sheathes his body in acidic energy Elemental Assault, swift action. Steeling himself for another round with the behemoth, he unleashes a flurry of blows against the hippo. His body goes into a graceful spin to the left, his right fist swinging for the hippo’s snout. His momentum carries him through the spin, as he strikes again with his left elbow.

Realizing Myrd’s magic has enhanced his speed, he tries to connect one more time, this time with a upward knee to the jaw, attempting to keep the beast from being able to bite him.

Seeing Henry alone on the barge with two bandits and an aggravated Hippo nearby, Nei-lung jumps down in an attempt to draw the ire of the large beast, while also providing a flank for him.

He strikes at the hippo, his fist trying for the soft flesh around the eyes, hoping the enormous maw of the beast does not manage to find purchase on him.

So focused on trying to move stealthily, Nei-lung completely misses seeing the stray rock in the middle of the road and kicks it, clattering along the gravel!
Oh well. One who does not learn from his mistakes is committing another mistake.
Realizing all pretense for stealth is lost, he comes out of his crouch and poises himself for action. Focusing on his years of training, he enters into his favored style. swift action to enter Dragon Style
Channelling his draconic bloodline, he draws on his magical powers, placing his hands face-down in front of himself, right on top of left, then pushes them outward from his body, palms out and chants "ternok fethos". standard action to cast Shield on himself.
He then moves forward to the edge of the bridge so he can gain the upper ground and see his opponents better. move action, 25 feet
Perception to notice creature in the water: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Addressing the Pathfinders, "Be wary friends. There is a large creature in the water."
Knowledge(nature) take 10: 10 = 10

Nei-lung activates his spring-loaded wrist sheath, then taps himself with the Wand of Mage Armor that was contained within. Then, trying to keep his mind and body as balanced as possible, he eases forward...

Nei-lung bows once again and returns the smile. "Thank you, Magistrate, for your understanding, and your support." He turns to the others.
"It seems we are now officially part of Ridonport's constabulary, however temporary." Looking at Slade, he adds, "It would seem, friend Slade, that we may be about to embark on a venture more suited to your expertise."

"Magistrate, we are not here to cause subversion within Ridonport, or Taldor. Rather, we are here on behalf of Cincia Reviamo, who expressed to our superiors that she feels the earl has illicitly removed items from the museum. Not a small accusation to make lightly. We have been sent by our superiors to investigate the claims. We are attempting to do so impartially. Admittedly, our superiors are doing so with hope of compensation, the ability to research these artifacts. Cencia's true concern is to protect the museum's collection. Unfortunate as it is, it would seem that her claims appear to be true, as you can see by these documents my compatriots carry."

”Thank you for seeing us, Magistrate.” Nei-lung bows respectfully. ”We have been informed you are a just and honorable person to bring this before. A third party has brought us in to investigate what appears to be a person of influence abusing their power, possibly consorting with pirates and smugglers, and wrongly claiming ownership of property that does not actually belong to them. I am sure you can understand the desire for discretion.”
