@Braggi: no, I wasn't planning to be adversarial nor work against the party. But given his strained relations with the town leaders and the whole evil cleric fighting evil cleric (which is probably quite common, moreso between NE and CE) coupled with my not really being able to fit in his skin AND Zokama likely finding Navith's new morality problematic - it's high time he shuffles off to some NE holdout.

Seems fair, and I thank you for your considered appraisal of my proposal so far!

Will drop Sun for Evil domain..

I would ask that I change to negative channel upon attaining the next level - hatred of undead is more Pelor's schtick (and doubly given the Sun domain's bolstering of channel damage to undead) I imagine than Navith's personal crusade - if anything he is becoming interested in the concept of master over spirits. If you think negative/harming channel will be too powerful/unbalancing (or have reservations about him controlling undead either mechanically or thematically) then no harm, no foul I'd rather retire Navith and make something/someone new. Given his somewhat prickly encounter with Burne, this might be for the best.

And made a post in Discussion thread re: Navith's fall.

Folks, if you haven't read Navith's spoilers, you may wish to now to see what trouble he has wrought for himself, and the transformation he has undertaken.

@Darkblade. I'm not sure how Pathfinder handles clerics "falling". Essentially, Navith is following the story feat he has, Crisis of Conscience. I've peppered my posts for Navith with frustrations with Pelor's might, and a growing fondness for the evil morningstar he picked up at Emridy. I hereby wish to change Navith's alignment from Neutral to Neutral Evil. Note that this is not to seen as Navith completing the goal of the story feat.

I imagine a new deity might need to be found, and in the meantime Navith will lose access to spells. In ADnD, if memory serves (which it may well not), such a loss of deity meant only higher level spells were unavailable...

If Navith's new alignment is untenable for the type of game you wish to run I am happy to retire him, and if allowed, create a new character to join our doughty band.

Tantrums and Towers:
Navith's face twitches as the lordly Burne delivers a mostly deserved dressing down. His words pass through Navith like a knife, and he realises he has brought Pelor's name into disrepute. Something breaks inside him, faintly, though he does not recognise it, only faintly feels a change within.

Druidry? Elven menhirs? The Flaming Eye reached further than we imagined, more is at stake than this tinpot town and its vainglorious protectors. Is this what has come to pass, that Emridy gave rise only to these parasites?

Navith stares boldly at Lord Burne. "Threats of incarceration for ill-manner prove only that you are no Lord, merely a functionary aping true grace through a steel gauntlet of fear. I bring Pelor into disgrace, and now, hereby disavow him."

With a scowl, Navith unfastens the brooch holding his Pelorite cloak and lets it fall to the ground. His holy symbol follows, thrown carelessly to land silently on the blood-spattered raiment of his once-holy master. "Pelor. You are just and good. Your power is unchallenged, and I beseech thee have mercy upon my unhallowed soul. My pride cannot allow me to serve you with honor before these fools."

Tears stream down his cheeks, pain tears at him but with each breath he feels lighter than he has for some time. As if a burden is lifted.

"Lord Burne. I served your people. You stood on formality and castigated me when I brought you aid, however it was delivered. If the elves would survive - if you would, you cannot stand on ceremony. Do as thou wilt, it will not surprise me."

The once-priest stands forsaken, and if not arrested turns and leaves.

The Tower:
Navith's head angles as he tries to reconcile the horrors below the Moathouse with this civil discourse. His right hand tenses as he struggles to master himself.

"My lords and ladies, forgive this unwelcome intrusion upon your funeral planning and border concerns. My companions and I were lately discussing the finer aspects of various factions of evil worshippers that dwell below yonder Moathouse with undead denizens who beseeched us to defeat their enemies and how we would inevitably wake their Master from some unholy sleep." the Pelorite spits out with obvious distaste. "While caked with the blood of gnolls, evil priests, troglodytes and wretched floating brains who could only cry in shrill shrieks. If only we had thought of discourse regarding monuments and fences with these worthies we might not be so wounded, cursed, hacked or damaged."

Navith stares at the obviously shocked response. He visibly sags.

"I am a brute. A warpriest and no diplomat. I came to find....advice. Aid, succour. To provide intelligence. Only to be rebuffed until...later. Hommlet will have no later if you maintain this charade of decency and good manner. I see I have offended you all. Pelor cares little for the shade of distrust, and burns ever brighter in the search for truth. " Navith looks aside wearily. "This tower is dark, and I leave it thus. We return to the Moathouse in the morning, and we can be found at the Inn. My lords, ladies."

Navith leaves to find his companions.

The Tower:
Navith looks askance at the thrones, taking in their meaning and symbolism. Nevertheless, the reaching of adventurers toward political heights is none of his business for now, and he calms himself lest his message be blurred or he becomes the victim of an overzealous bodyguard.

The Pelorite makes do with a conspicuous clearing of his throat and steps one step closer.

"My lords, lady. Forgive my interruption but the moathouse has more secrets I can divulge..."

At the Church of St Cuthbert and beyond:

"Blast! Fine, to the tower. Braggi, don't let them fill your head with any strange notions. Other than the notion that you have been completely restored."

With that the Pelorite strides away, out of the Church and back toward the tower, requesting an immediate and urgent meeting with the Canon and possibly Burne or Rufus if they are present.

At the Church of St Cuthbert:
Navith accompanies Braggi to the Church, ostensibly to alert the Cuthbertian's of their discoveries but also to smooth the barbarian's progress to a cure.

"Brother Morgan, so good to see you again. The dour and stolid reality of life with St Cuthbert's laity and clerics has not dimmed your endless light. Pelor would embrace such a servant. But enough of my pleasantries - can you direct me to the Canon?"

Navith seems unconcerned by the cries from the south.

"We have sidetracked enough, and nearly suffered for it - the reptilian and the priest came close to dropping us with their magicks - I would that we head east. If you feel we need to cleanse the south I will not argue."

GM - is it possible to 5' step diagonally into the western passage? If so, Navith does that first...

Navith swallows against his rising gorge and stabs over Musami's head with his longspear.

Navith sees the new threat, hears their mutterings. He moves to support Musami, and casts a benison from his sun-god...

Move Action: Move 20' to just next to Musami (on north side). Can somebody move Navith please?

Standard Action: Cast bless.

"Braggi - I hear sounds from the south, likely a number of creatures!" Navith shouts.

Navith nods grimly as the undead strikes.

"Cleanse creation of this menace, Pelor!"

Standard Action: Channel positive energy.

"A foul, deathly smell. I'll wager we'll find something debased this way - only two things smell as the dead - the truly dead, and the living dead. We have little to fear from the former, but the latter - well we have met more than our fair share of those. Be wary kind sirs. And Zokama, aim true!"

With his prattling sermon over, Navith follows on.

Do we have a marching order? I'm imagining Braggi and Musami up front with Fil in the middle and Navith and Zokama last. Or is Zokama in the second rank with her bow? Navith could also be in the second rank as he is primarily a longspearer.

"I like not the pale light coming from that way" Navith indicates the gnoll's passage.

"So let us open these doors and be done with them, unless they lead further."

The Pelorite sighs audibly.

"I like this place not at all..."
