"We're done here than. Be careful. With any luck, we won't meet again." Nareth raises his hand, then casts a spell.

Spellcraft DC 25:
Nareth cast some greater form of plane shift, as if where you are is beyond the normal reaches of simple planar travel.

"Some would say your actions have already been determined. Others say there will simply be a different result. It's hard to know for sure. Tiasar or Alia may be better to ask those questions."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"I don't know. I intervened after you invoked wild magic, so I'm not aware of what happened to Sveng. Possibly." Nareth locks gazes with Dalton at the last comment. "Indeed."

"You can observe them freely. They can observe you as long as they don't figure out who you are, but with how well you know each other and yourselves I would do everything in your power to avoid them."

"I imagine the reason Sveng had the hourglass instead of you yourselves was to help get around this issue. He can be made aware of this issue without any consequences as long as he doesn't make your originals aware of you."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"No, he will have the item. He doesn't yet, because you haven't given it to him yet."

Nareth shakes his head at Ianna. "I couldn't if I wanted to. I have already acted in that time period, and I was not shunted back as you all were. Once I end the spell holding your consciousness here, you will be brought back and I will remain in the current timeline."

"I don't know much of Sveng, so I couldn't say. But that's not the reason you're asking, is it?" He says, white eyes piercing Dalton.

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Possibly. But without that item, Sveng cannot save you."

"I don't know what you did in these two weeks. As long as you don't make your presence known to your originals, you can do whatever you wish. I assume with your knowledge of the future you should take advantage to set events in motion for your victory over Calios."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Quite possibly. But I doubt they're willing to have a civil conversation with you about it."

Toramin wrote:
"but otherwise unless you have something more to tell or aid to give us I'm not really sure we can do much for you."

Nareth quietly reaches into his cloak and takes out a black hourglass; the exact one that Dalton was given by Sveng earlier. "Take this. Sveng will need it to save Dalton, and the rest of you."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"No. His mind is an enigma to us. There have been small alterations, but nothing that has changed the course of history. That we can tell."

"You have met one of their higher agents, Stoneriver, recently. Many agents are people like you. What the gods choose to reveal is their prerogative."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Malose is a lich. His soul exists, but he is no longer bound to it. It resides in his phylactery, which is not known."

Knowledge (religion) to know about liches.

"I know he is at least a few millennium old, but I'm not sure anybody but him really knows how old he is. I know you have some experience with people of unnatural life spans, and how their minds warp and change over the years to understand and desire things that seem incomprehensible to younger minds. This is an extreme case. All I know is that he is manipulating the time stream carelessly and dangerously."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Nareth folds his arms. "Wild magic is dangerous and unpredictable. Some mages do tap into it accidentally, but more recently you have been invoking it intentionally. That is an immensely dangerous thing to do. From what Tiasar tells me you have been extremely fortunate."

Nareth SM: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Nareth stares at Dalton with his chilling white eyes. "Is that how it happened?" He inquires.

Nareth breaks his gaze and shakes Rilka's hand. As he reaches it out, everybody can see and Rilka can feel that even his hand is coated in the armoured bone exoskeleton. Rilka feels it...and it's exactly like bone. Smooth, hard, and cold to the touch. "Rilka, I've heard about you, even before these events. The council speaks highly of you."

He shakes his head at the questions about time rules. "There are no universal rules, except that nobody is allowed to see the beginning of time. That's why there is so much arguing and disagreement. They are all trying to impose their own rules over what should be done."

"To a creature that perceives the world in three dimensions, yes you have simply vanished. If Malose had not intervened you would have all stopped existing, although I'm sure he did it simply out of self-preservation. But no, he cannot track you. Not here." He says, gesturing around to the nothingness. "Nobody can."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Capable is the problem. The fifth dimension is only theorized about."

"I want to know who you are and what you intend to do with this power so that I can get some of the outsiders on your side. The Aeons are a powerful force that I doubt we can turn away from you, but we can get allies to keep them off you, at least somewhat. As it stands, there are Inevitables and others that seek to help the Aeons bring you down. Their combined might unopposed would be unstoppable."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Somehow he has managed to circumvent the collapsing of time remnants, which is one of the reasons he is so hard to get. If we ever would have won a fight against him, remnants of him simply show up until there are enough of him to overpower us."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Time remnants are the same as the original, except they are not when they are supposed to be. More importantly, time remnants cannot come into contact with their originals, or even make them aware of their presence. If they do, the remnants will collapse. Which means that at the point that you would have gone back in time, you instead stop moving on the timeline. You no longer exist past that point."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"It's for these kinds of matter that I left, and others. More important things needed to be done." He says flatly.

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Perhaps. This may be the next step for humanity."

"But I'll be damned before I let a lich, an evil f!@~er like Malose figure out how to do it first. If this is something that is in the worlds future, then it will be discovered by men who don't have death and conquering on their minds. Perhaps Dalton can spearhead that research. Perhaps."

Nareth turns to Rilka. "You are still doing what you did then. To be short, you exist in two places right now. You are time remnants. When you reach the time where Dalton sent you back, you will no longer be time remnants and will become the original versions of yourself once again."

Nareth gives a dangerous look to Rilka. "Breaking into four dimensions is complex and dangerous enough. Even if anybody had any idea of how it could be done, it may be more trouble than its worth."

Now I kinda want to talk about the ten fathomable dimensions that can be understood by the human mind! But that's slightly beyond the scope of this campaign :P

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

As Bjorkus looks around, he remembers that they are in an immaterial void. There's not even gravity.

"I don't give a s*!* what the Aestherics want. This kind of power is something nobody should wield. The ability to travel through and alter time has infinite power. Everything else would be reduced to insignificance, because they could reshape reality on a whim. Do you really want that kind of power in the hands of a millennium old lich?"

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Nareth addresses Dalton's and Bjorkus's concerns over taking down Malose first. "Oh, they've tried. And are still trying. But he has gathered enough temporal power that they can't. Even when they kill him, he simply exists as a time remnant somewhere else. You cannot kill a fourth-dimensional creature in only three dimensions. It's not even an inconvenience for him."

He turns back to Ianna. "Correct, the Aeons are the great balancers. The Bythos are the ones to truly fear, although I imagine the Ahkana will also be a problem. I am doing everything in my power to keep the Pleromas out of this."

"I want to make it clear that I'm not here to threaten you, I'm here to warn you, and help if possible. Dalton, you have just breached a level of power that is both going to bring down the hammer from these balance keepers as well as maybe make it possible for you to actually help take down Malose. I'm here because I need your help, and as much as those stubborn f#+%s don't want to admit it they need your help to. Nothing knows how to kill a fourth-dimensional creature. Nobody even knows where to begin. But you may be able to learn how."

At Dalton's plead of understanding and knowledge, Nareth narrows his eyes. "Some things are better left not understood. Mankind can't handle it. If you don't believe me, ask Tiasar how he got his scar."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"Spare me the second rate philosophy."

"There is no teaching how to handle this power, because nobody knows how. The only reason he hasn't been killed already is because Malose is also toying with the bounds of time, and has amassed enough understanding to escape any retaliation."

"You've already felt the power he wields. He didn't have to lift a finger to end every one of you. Even Stoneriver was helpless. And that was just a small taste of what he is capable of. There is enough trouble trying to pin him down, they don't want a second one running around."

He looks at Dalton. "But my idea is to fight fire with fire. You've just proven you can take the wild magic he commands and turn it on him, as uncontrollable and dangerous as it was. I think we can harness your abilities to keep him from escaping into another time, and actually pin the bastard down."

"But I'll need something good to go back with. You've just attracted a lot of attention, and the Aeons are going to come down on you no matter what. But if you can convince me you will be able to help, I'll get some allies to help keep you alive."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Nareth narrows his eyes at Toramin. "You don't even understand the forces you are toying with." He points his finger at Dalton. "He could have ended reality as you know it. Do you even grasp that? There isn't some council with rules, these are beings making sure that the universe doesn't collapse on itself."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Nareth looks at Dalton expectantly for a moment, then answers Ianna. "Since he clearly has no idea what he did...He brought you all back in time by about two weeks. Such a violent rupture of time attracted attention. Powerful outsiders, particularly the Aeons, wanted to intervene. One of the Draconals advised patience, so I brought you here before any rash decisions were made. Your allies were moved back safely."

"I agree. Being ignorant helps your case. But he nearly ended a piece of reality. Not only would you be dead, you would no longer exist. At any point in time. You would never have existed."

"Balance is the key word. These outsiders are not power-seeking evil beings or justice-bringing good beings."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Nareth looks back to Dalton. "Yes, each should receive their due according to their actions. So what should a careless manipulator of time receive? There are many that want him dead. Maybe they're right. No matter what happens some will come for him. The Aeons are furious."

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

"He's still a slimy little s+%$." Nareth remarks.

Male Human Cleric 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 17, T 11, FF 16 | CMD 13 | Fort +4, Ref +1, Will +5 | Init +1 | Perc +3

The man looks to Toramin and nods. "Yes." He takes a breath. "For a spymaster you think Heff would be better at keeping secrets."

I'm sorry to hear that Kayne. I hope things work out for you.

Well this thread appears mostly dead than, so I'm going to stop checking in. If the original DM reappears or a new one steps up and needs a mapmaker, please PM me. Thanks.

I am excellent at maps and would be more than willing to do that. I do most of my work on google drive, but I also use dungeongrid on occasion for simple maps.

A huge 28 vs 49 brawl

A true shame. It was shaping up to be such an interesting campaign.

Is there anybody else interested in taking up the torch?

It's only been a few days, and there are a lot of complicated and detailed characters for him to go through. Not to mention that he most likely won't allow one person to play two characters so he has to keep that in mind when he's building the party. I'm sure he's just weighing the applicants and will be back to us soon.

Ah but dear Rigor, that's exactly what we're doing! We are saving the world from the rule of incompetent fools who are leading it to destruction. We are saving it from its inevitable demise by establishing a new order to keep it strong...ours of course, for who else knows better than us?

Damien is my one and only submission. I really wanted to focus on making him the best I could. However I did notice you are noting the archetypes of classes, so I wanted to point out that Damien's rogue half has both the Acrobat and Sanctified Rogue archetypes. I think this may be the first time I've ever gotten to pick the Sanctified Rogue archetype, and it goes so well with the flavor!

I am completely done with my character, he is ready for review. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions, I'm happy to clarify anything you need. I'm really excited about this campaign and how my character could fit into. If I can alter anything to make my submission better please let me know.

Can I take the extra discoveries feat before I get discoveries?

If not: everyone else, what makes for a good feat for an alchemist? It's my first one.

No. The prerequisite for the feat is the Discovery class feature. I wish I could offer feat advice but I don't really play alchemists. Improved initiative is never bad, or toughness. Try looking up a guide.

Oh god, imagine a gestalt fighter/brawler. Your feats would be harder to track than the spells on a mystic theurge.

I just realized the link to my character is bad, sorry about that. Damien Dalkarta

Thanks for that reference Lord Foul II. I've never seen that before.

I have the crunch for my character drawn up (things go significantly quicker without having to worry about gear).

The Sedition crime and Wicked Leader trait are both going to play big parts in his background, and that combined with his high charisma is definitely going to staple him as a leader type (or at least the face of leadership, his mental scores do not make him the best decision maker).

I picked antipaladin for pretty obvious reasons, I wanted a front line damage dealer who thematically fit (and how often do you get a chance to play antipaladins?) Rogue was a great compliment for the low-skill martially focused antipaladin class, and it will make him much better at infiltration and being a face. Also as a worshiper of Asmodeous the Sanctified Rogue archetype was a great flavor choice.

I'm going to start working on his fluff now, but if you want to look over the crunch (which is 100% done) feel free to.

Dotting for extreme interest! I love WotW!

I have this idea for a fetchling antipaladin/rogue who does two weapon fighting. I'll start getting some numbers and background ideas going.
