Amed Alsaakhib-Alraed wrote:
After his breakfast, Amed gathers his belonging for his meeting at The Black Dragon. On his way there, if the magus passes by The River Mint, he looks up at the windows as he passes, thinking about what might have been. Otherwise, Amed waits outside The Black Dragon for the rest of Team Grey.

The windows seem clear for the moment Amed, the streets however are not. As you near the site of your next possible missions breifing you run across a familiar face. The half elven barmaid at the tavern built just outside the walls to the Silver Shields compound.

She sees you and snorts slightly rolling her eyes before turning back to the rotund half orcen fellow standing outside a shop. From your angle its hard to see inside the place, but there is a stand of fruit in the front of it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

"One of? you are aware that I own this place right?"

She began her tone heightened making it sound like she had taken offense.... she let it hold a moment more before she couldnt help but grin.

"Listen, you seem a nice enough lad. If you are looking to try and woo me, you start with bringing flowers or silks or candies or something. If you are looking to do business with me, you start with spending coin... but you folks are the new blood am I correct? I throw in what I know for free... just remember next time the right way."

She began shooting the girls behind Amed a quick conspiratorial wink.

"I honestly dont know much, the groups he has hired has been no more than three men and they head out south down the profit's flow. A few of the small teams stopped for pickaxes and other mining gear so i think they were sent, by my guess, to some of the old mines south in the mountains. Now there are not any dwarven settlements there so I would imagine what ever they were sent to dig up wasnt precious gems or metal... or there would be dwarves."

She said sweetly with a smile and a wink for Amed.

Swen:
You get the feeling that her coyness has entirely to do with Amed. It is probably not the first time some man has tried to how did you put it, slimily seek information from her. So she isnt so much as being difficult to your folk for the sake of being difficult, but more to toy with him.

rolls:
sense motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Without looking up from her bookwork she began to slyly smirk.

"Indeed I may have heard such things good man, tell me, what does this have to do with me?"

Swens sense motive:
You get the sense she is amused by the interuption... but that it is an interuption. If she is involved in a rogues work, a bribery of sorts may be more helpful than idle chatter..
unless you have some juicy secrets to trade of course

The common room of the Silver Chalice looks much as it did last night, albeit a bit cleaner. There are a few tradesfolk in the place sitting in front of a bowl of morning stew in most cases none looking at all that talkative.

The person you are looking for in questions is sitting behind the bar a large leather book in front of her. She appears to be deep in numbers and accounting.

"Welcome to the Silver Chalice, I heard about the tiny ceremony today awarding the newest batch of recruits to the business... what can i get for you two Its on the house so just you name it."

The woman behind the bar, clearly of elven heritage from the half pointed look to her ears said as she stood beside the table you two sat at. She too had a little silver armband on her bicep over the top of her long sleeved white shirt.

"I promise i wont let you get too drunk to miss the morning briefing tomorrow, so come on live a little tonight eh?"

The night is a typical cool spring evening, cool enough that the small fire in the large stone fireplace at the end of the common room provided more warmth than light. It was quiet enough though the common room had just enough guests that the barkeep, A no nonsense yet friendly enough half elf named Alinnawas busy enough stopping by a trio of tables... two with local farmers sharing tales and ales and one large one with some of the local lumberjacks drinking heavier stouts gambling coppers.

Seeing you enter at a moment she was behind the bar wiping off a freshly cleaned copper mug the Half even maiden smiles.

"Welcome to the Silver Chalice, I see you got your armbands finally Your first drinks are on me tonight shieldmates!"

She half called half spoke out giving a slight incline of her head before motioning out to the common rooms booths and seats.

Have a seat I'll be right with you."

She added before ducking her head in the back and hollaring something inconcernable to the kitchen.
