![]() leveling to 14th level bard, considering taking Joyful Rapture as my 5th level spell, but now am realizing there's probably a lot of overlap with Break Enchantment, which I already have. Other than healing the stat damage, does anyone have a list of what Joyful Rapture will cure that Break Enchantment won't? ![]()
![]() *Rise of the Runelords Spoiler* In Sins of the Saviors, there is a room where a malfunctioning rod of cancellation emits a Mage's Disjunction burst. All of my players got hit by it and rolled their saving throws for their items and of course some missed, and a few even rolled a natural 1. Mage's Disjunction says, "If an item's saving throw results in a natural 1 on the die, the item is destroyed instead of being suppressed." One of my players has one Make Whole spell memorized, which reads, "Make whole can fix destroyed magic items (at 0 hit points or less)..." Rules as written, this seems to indicate that Make Whole will fix an item destroyed by rolling a nat 1 on Mage's Disjunction. What the...? That would mean a 2nd level spell that every cleric gets can undo the worst possible result from a 9th level spell...that just doesn't seem right to me. I know you have to be twice the caster level of the item, but still... Is that the way it is, or is there something I am missing? Further, the original Sins module specifically has a little blurb warning about how horrific this trap is. And, if you read the Rod of Cancellation, it says items destroyed with it can only be restored with a miracle or wish spell. Can someone help me make sense of this? ![]()
![]() CIRCLET OF ARCANE ANCESTRY
Description: This tarnished silver headband is set with a single black sapphire. When the command word is spoken within 10 feet of a sorcerer slain within the last 3 rounds, the essence of the sorcerer’s bloodline is transferred into the gem. Once worn for 24 hours, all of the slain sorcerer’s bloodline powers (up to the capacity of the item) are made available to the wearer. Speaking the command word again or destroying the item releases the essence. A sorcerer returned to life after having their essence stolen will be without their bloodline powers until their essence is freed. Most spellcasters and creatures with spell-like abilities abhor these items and seek to destroy them at the earliest opportunity (which usually means killing the owner first). The gp value of the black sapphire used to construct the item determines the level of bloodline power it can contain: Capacity GP Value

![]() Although I read many of threads from last year's contest before submitting my item, I just came across something that makes me think my item will be rejected. My potential downfall? I read in a thread from last year that it is a no-no to "bypass class restrictions or other restrictions built into the game (artifacts do that)." So I am paranoid my item will be immediately construed as an artifact. Any of the rest of you in a similar situation? ![]()
![]() taig is correct - the words in the table are not my concern. just the characters needed to format the words to align them into columns I've read through several threads and haven't seen this question addressed. If possible, i'd like an official ruling on this. My item is ready for submission but I'd hate to be DQ'd for something lame - if anything lame is going to stand in the way of my success, it will be my item! ![]()
![]() similar to the Carpet of Flying on pg 370 of the pathfinder beta playtest book, I have a table I need to put in the description of my item. However, if I separate the colums by tabs and then preview the post, it jumbles them together. If I click on the show button beside "BBCode Tags you can use" nothing happens (except I get the "error on page" note in the lower left hand corner). I can separate the data in the table by slashes or dashes, but those take my word total over 200 (at least MS Office considers them words when I do a word count check). So, is there a way to use BBcode to correct the format of my table? Or, can i just use slashes and not have them count against my 200 word limit? |
