"The old gods generally frown on being called beasts. That one" Mortimer nods at the statue "was Lissala. She is an old Thassilon goddess of runes, fate, and the reward of service." Mortimer walks up to the statue squats down next to it, trying to make out the runes that cover it. Perception (if necessary): 1d20 ⇒ 4

While Dasiji is looking at the left door Mortimer looks at the center one. Mortimer runs his finger over the seal then looks down at the amount of dust he'd collected. He holds his finger up to the others. "I get the feeling we're on a wild goose chase. Nothing has been down here in a long long time." Mortimer takes a deep breath and blows at the layer of dust on the door. He begins coughing heavily and retreats from the door.
Human - Oracle / Living Monolith
Mortimer squats down next to the corpse to take a look at it. "Haven't seen one of these before..." Every once and a while he pokes at it with the butt of his spear to get a better look at part of it. Once he notices everyone else has moved on he jogs to catch up with everyone else.
Human - Oracle / Living Monolith
Mortimer pokes around in his backpack muttering quietly about how nothing is ever where he left it. After a little bit he looks over to Dasiji "I'll come with. I could use some light as well." Does knowledge history dredge up any useful knowledge about the place?

Mortimer replies to Broot. "As do I. I have a feeling its the same message." Mortimer accompanies Broot in his search. Mortimer attempts to help Broot convince Gahiji.

Mortimer who was watching the screen, turns his head sideways in an almost confused, owl-like manner. "Giving us information you already have costs you nothing. Having us deal with the shadow lodge saves you the trouble. I fail to see how we are not already overpaying, without the matter of an additional favor."

Mortimer looks at the two letters confused. Wait didn't I have one like that... Mort digs around in his backpack muttering about how things never stay where he leaves them. After a moment he pulls out two letters glances them over and puts the opened one back. Mort coughs "Three..." He holds up the unopened letter.
Human - Oracle / Living Monolith
Sorry been busy Mortimer looks at the boldly decorated building and frowns. "I... I think I'll just stay out here with Fasch..." He takes a seat with his back to a nearby building where he can watch the entrance. After the others go in he rifles though his backpack for something to do and finds and old letter and begins to reread it.

Mortimer looks over at Kassandra confused. Why that's just silly. "My ancestors would never allow that to happen. If it was a danger to me or to them, as I ask it of them, they would deny my request. There is nothing to fear in death nor in those beyond it. At least not any more so than you would anyone else." Mort pauses for a slight moment thinking on his interactions with people and the dead then continues, "They also lie a lot less."
Human - Oracle / Living Monolith
When no one answers his semi-retorical question, Mortimer shrugs to himself and mutters "It's worth a shot I guess..." He closes his eyes in concentration and becons his ancestors. "Elders, bring this poor soul to me so that I may talk with him." He then turns his attention back to Collgardie's corpse. Mort speaks to it, "Who attacked you and why?" Speak with dead 1 round
Human - Oracle / Living Monolith
Mortimer looks oddly at his bloody spear tip and replies to Broot. "Normally they just get out of the way..." Mortimer's minor scrapes are unaffected by Broot's channeling. After a moment Mort puts his shield and spear away and returns to where he was squatting before he was interrupted. He looks to the others and asks, "Do you think he saw who hit him?" Before looking down at the corpse once more.
