Unfortunately, I won't be able to go to PaizoCon this year but my loss is your gain. I have two banquet tickets and they're yours for freeeee. DM me if you want one or both. First come, first served

Liberty's Edge

Oh crap theres a deadline for transferring banquet tickets? I have two I want to give away.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks everyone! Thank you Mike for the kind words.

Exciting PFS things are afoot here in SB. I'm currently setting up a custom portal for all SB-PFS activity and will post back with the link soon. Also organizing a major kick-off event to celebrate PFS coming to the central coast.

Thanks again everyone!

Pre-Con Games Thread
----------------

Character Name - Name IRL - Paizo Boards Name
* DM - Russ - Rusty Ironpants
Poog of Zarongel - Erick - Monkplayer
Mogmurch - Justin - Monkplayer +1
Reta Bigbad - Jenny - Jezebel
Ret Bigbad - Scott - Xot
Chuffy Lickwound - Kyle - MoonTech
Huffy Lickwound - Aaron - Evil Minion

Adventure Details as told by Chuffy Lickwound

Our adventure started in the typical Goblin fashion of understanding and polite conversation…and then Huffy messed everything up! He's been a nettle in my hay-sack since he was born, just after me cuz Mom likes me best and let me out first!

We were summoned by Slorb to meet with Chief Gutwad because we are the bestest Goblins of all Goblins…and then they invited Huffy also.

Chief Gutwad asked us to sit but there was only one chair then the Chief took it… he's very confusing to me!

Chief Gutwad told us that we need to find fireworks that Skribbleface hid. Skribbleface had been banned from the tribe for writing things down…BAD!

When we left he gave Ret a map. Then there was a bonfire to celebrate our ultimate goblinness…and they let Huffy also come.

Then there was a contest, many. First we had to Eat a Bag of Bull Slugs Real Quick. The slugs have a poison sack. I'm a very good tricky goblin and slipped one into Huffy's basket. He's too dumb to notice. Then I tried to slip one into Reta's basket. She's not a dumb like Huffy. Then I tried to slip another into Huffy's basket but then he got smart like Reta…so I punctured the poison sack on one of mine and drained it all over Huffy's worms. Huffy went back to dumb, he kept eating them. Huffy is still sick. Oh and Huffy's pustules popped. Ret punctured his slugs on a goblin-ka-bob and put them to the bonfire. He won and isn't sick

Next came Hide or Get Clubbed Ret got scared and took off running…for a very long time and then a little longer. Reta got clubbed. Mugmurch hid. Game over. I would have hid real good but Mugmurch is selfish and went and won. Mugmurch is now in my memory list of "Bad Things for Goblins I Love".

Now it was time to brave The Rusty Earbiter. Poog covered himself in Squealy Nord poo to be slippery. I lined up behind Huffy, he got scared and tried to jump into another lane in front of Poog. He tripped and got cut then Poog pushed him into the Earbiter and walked away. Mogmurch, Huffy and I started the race the others were not as brave as we are but me bravest most! Mogmurch and Huffy are copycat brave of my type. Huffy was ahead of me so I let my pet spider Stankrush go bite him in his face. Huffy got scared and stuck and cut and then tried to get brave but he's not brave. Ret and Poog kept pulling the Earbiter trying to get us all stuck but they're not strong like they needed to be. Mogmurch won again and I remember him a second time in my memory list of Bad Things.

Chief Gutwad spoke to say that we need to Dance with Squealy Nord. I snooked off and helped Nord swallow my Potion of Jump. Nord will drink anything. I tried to place bets on Nord with other Goblins but they don't know betting. Note to Chuffy - teach goblins to bet but not do it so that they win, but I win. Many speeches were given to Chief Gutwad to get to go first and even though mine was best Poog was selected. Poog was still slippery from Nord poo and Nord was jumpy from potion sauce. Poog…STILL HELD ON! WHA?! HOW?! My plan was goblin-proof! Poog cheated by his God Zarongel helping him and he also got put in my memory list of "Bad Things for Goblins I Love".

Poog stayed up too late talking big about himself. We went to sleep. Chief had goblins get us up early buy setting fire to our blankets. Poog is still sleepy, Reta and Mogmurch are still sick from Slugs. We headed out on adventure. Huffy used a patch from his cloak and made a loud horn. He sang through the horn while we walked. He's a good singer even though Mom tried to pick out his throat cords for crying too much when he was a baby. I remember this cuz I decided to grow up faster than him.

He sang so well Lotslegs Eat Goblin Babies Many dropped down on us before we knew he was there. I caught him with my grappling hook and kept trying to pull him off of his web. Poog jumped on Lotslegs' back while Ret stabbed him in his underbelly. I pulled again and Poog fell off. Lotslegs finally fell to the ground and everyone tried to kill him but I killed him best.

We continued following the map until we saw the house with the rounded bottom (The Old Shipwreck). There was a HORSE!!! We hid, but Reta hot a good hider and horse see's us. Ret charged, jumped the fence and got stabby with the horse. I also charged, jumped the fence and also got stabby on the horse, but horse still standed. Reta charged also but slipped and…KA-RANG!!! The fence got clubby on Reta. Horse tried to stomp on Reta but missed and died…cuz in the end, I killed it best.

I saw a ladder to the rounded-bottom house and climbed it. Some meanie put a trip-wire at the top. I tripped. A wasp nest fell towards Mogmurch but he caught it and put it in a pool of water. They yelled at me but as far as I'm concerned that was a successful trap disablement. There were dogs barking at us on the deck of the ship Ret and Reta charged. Deck too small to fit me so I climbed on top of the roof to get a good eye to dart the dogs. But there was a door, so I went in instead. Lots of dead goblin bones and a goblin stew brewing. I found Skribbleface…well some of Skribbleface. There was lots of yelling and dog barking still so I gathers up Skribble-stuff in a sack and put it on my back. I went outside to see that Ret was hurt bad from dog #1 and dog #2 had Reta and Mogmurch scared. I jumped off the roof with my Dog slicers and yelled "STABBY FROM ABOVE" as I jumped onto Dog #2. It died. I killed it best!

We found fireworks and shot them off as we returned home…most of them but not all.

I'd be interested in joining a game at Kyles Meet & Eat. Although, fair warning, I'm new to PFS and will be arriving with a 1st level noob., haha,

Kyle

I expect to arrive myself at the meet & eat sometime between 3 and 5PM. (I'm driving down from British Columbia, so there's both the uncertainty of the border wait and the uncertainty of the bridge-out-detour that makes it difficult for me to estimate when I'll arrive. That's on top of the when-can-I-drag-my-lardass-out-of-bed uncertainty.)

I'm going to come ready to run a couple of first-level PFS games. One will be First Steps II ("To Delve the Dungeon Deep"), which is designed for newbies. The other will be a scenario from Season 0. I'm going to bring pregens, of course, but also some PFS characters that I've made that you can slap a name on and take over as your very own. So, these will be n00b friendy. I'll run one of 'em if there are enough people there interested.

Sounds awesome. I'll make sure to be at the Meet and Eat by 3pm.

Thx,
Kyle

Yikes indeed. I'm gonna splurge for the Valet... Jk

I had a similar question and found this info on the Marriott website (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/travel/seawa-seattle-airport-marriott/ ):

Parking
On-site parking, fee: 19 USD daily
Valet parking, fee: 24 USD daily

Hope this helps,

I'm terrible at unboxing vids so I thought I would just post pictures of the items we received as part of the Pathfinder Online Technology Demo.
Congrats again to Goblinworks and Paizo. Thanks for letting us help support what is destined to be a great game!

I searched the forums but didn't see anything. Sorry if this has been covered.

I was curious if anyone has seen a conversion of any of the Pathfinder Iconic Characters into 2nd edition stats?

Thanks for any leads,
Kyle

Awesome! Can't wait to read it.

Liberty's Edge

1st - 5th level = Hit die max
6th - 10th level = Roll hit die twice and take the better roll
10th and up = Roll the hit die and take what you get

We feel this creates a similarity to aging. Younger (lower level) characters are generally healthier and heal faster but as they age they heal slower and gain less and less health.

Hi All,

I still have mine and love it and when I searched for one on the app store couldn't believe I couldn't find one. So I made one. I need to get some help testing it before I submit it to the app store. Soooo...

I wanted to invite any iPhone users (iPad and Android coming shortly) to a public beta of our Dragonbone Virtual Dice Roller. If you're interested in helping us test go to the webpage below. From there you'll see a link to sign up as a tester. Thanks a bunch for helping and please do let me know if you find any bugs.

@kyle, you'll have to represent!!!
@misterslanky, haha. I'll be there next year and I'll buy the first round of drinks

Liberty's Edge

Thank you Liz and Ryan.

Lisa, I was looking forward to it also. I have a startup down here and we just entered our Series A round. As it happens a VC moved up our meeting to Friday the 6th from Tuesday the 10th. Bittersweet, I'm sure you understand. I'm very bummed. I'm looking forward to coming up to meet you all.

Erik, thanks for the refund but I say keep it. Maybe it can help someone else get into the con or buy a few bottle of water for con-goers. I do have some item marked to pick up at the con, will those automatically be shipped off after the con?

Thanks again, I'll be there next year for sure

Liberty's Edge

Unfortunately, due to business my PaizoCon trip has to be cancelled. Is there a way to change my event schedule to reflect that the seats I held will now be open?

Thx,

@Hewhocaves brings up a good thread. "What was your entry into PnP games?" Does that thread already exist? For me it all happened in 1977. I got the BDnD box with the Dragon cover (still have it) and i also bought my first issue of Dragon Magazine, issue 27 with the awesome knight on the cover. Then my brother brought an ODnD Whitebox with the Greyhawk supplement home during one of his visits from college and left it for me when he returned (still have that also). I've been a Greyhawk loving, DnD collector ever since. I'm proud to say, I've been lucky enough to fill the holes in my collection over the years through all editions and continued my love for DnD through collecting as it become harder and harder to find time to play. Eventually Eberron hit and then 4E, and then Paizo sent an email stating that my Dragon and Dungeon subscriptions were going to be terminated, BUT they had this new world called Pathfinder and since I was a subscriber I could opt to receive Pathfinder materials in lieu of magazines and then continue my subscription. BRILLIANT MOVE PAIZO! I read through the first adventure and it felt like my beloved Greyhawk, which was refreshing especially since Eberron recently put robots in my DnD errrr. I've been a Pathfinder faithful ever since and for the first time since 1977 stopped collecting DnD while choosing to continue my ongoing Pathfinder subscription. Pathfinder also got me back into actually playing again rather than just collecting. I started a video game tools company a short time ago and wanted to find something that could help "break the ice" among this newly formed team...hey look what just arrived at the studio...the Pathfinder box set. AWESOME TIMING PAIZO! When the Kickstarter was announced I knew I had to pony up a an honorable pledge to thank Paizo as well as Goblinworks for all they've done for me and for the team here at MoonTech.

Liberty's Edge

Here I am late to the party as usual. I just saw this thread and wanted to add a little. As a fellow gamer and musician, I hope you forgive my shameless "self" promotion. I don't get to share these stories very often.

I was on the audio/design team for Guitar Hero from GH3 until its demise (insert sad face). I even moved to New York to help redesign GH for the GH7 edition that was sadly cancelled, so I moved back to Cali.

Those of you who have played GH know we love/d our metal. I thought I would share a couple of metal stories here. First, Guitar Hero: Metallica. Arguably my favorite of all the GH's to work on. The entire band showed up for motion capture and hammed it up with us. They even invited the entire team up to San Francisco for a private concert. It was amazing. They were preparing for their tour and were doing dress rehearsals but opened the doors and let all of us in. Then they bought drinks...after which I don't remember much.

Some other mentionables:

Motorhead: Lemmy was amazing and kept hitting on the girls.
Zakk Wylde: Embarrassed a fellow designer in the bathroom...no I won't say more, haha
Ozzy: Came in for his mo-cap and for the first time invited the entire company to watch. He wanted as many people as possible so that he could feel like he was performing a live concert. He even invited a couple guys to sit in as the rest of his band. During mo-cap the artist is instructed to act out their unique reaction to the player playing the song correctly as well as badly. For anyone who has seen Ozzy you know that he likes to throw buckets of water on the front row. Well, for the mo-cap, while he was acting out the player failing the song, he picked up the bucket and heaved it at my friend "bunny" (or it might have been BMarvs) sitting in as the bass player and hit him square in the head, haha. He then turned toward the drummer and kicked a roll of gaffer tape at him. The tape split the cymbals , like a football through the uprights and also hit him in the face. True story!
And then there's the Ted Nugent story...wait is Sweaty Teddy metal? Oh well, I can't tell the story then...

Erik mentioned The Sword, another favorite of mine from GH. Definitely check them out. His post is from 2008, so i'm sure you already have.
