No spellcraft here, but Monterey will be sure to sweep around with Detect Magic to make sure nothing is missed.

Seeing the cold do some damage, Monterey hacks and slashes at the tentacles.

Monterey begins to pant from the fatigue of his enraged state.

"What do we do about this thing?"

Monterey looks around at the bodies, and looks worried. He turns to the party, talking calmly and low, and says "Zombies, you probably want to slash them..."

He goes ahead and casts Shield on himself as a precaution...

...before stepping into the room with his greatsword drawn. "What... is this?" he says directed towards the woman. He remains cognizant of the zombies.

Monterey heads up and peaks with the rest of the party.

"Thanks Volar. Fire, that's the way to get the buggers. Also makes you feel good too; puts hair on your chest."

Monterey points a finger at Durvak. "And that healing is always appreciated."

"Well, what's in the box anyway?"

Grimacing, Monterey moves up closer to the swarm again.

He continues to throw fire with Burning Hands.

Since now there's a space to hit a couple of squares without hitting teammates...

Monterey casts Burning Hands at the swarm of spiders, hoping to eliminate some of their numbers.

He move away, making sure the party is spread out enough that they won't all get attacked.

"If you don't have anything for them, clear out! I can scorch em."

Monterey is waiting until enough people are out of the swarm to blast them.

Are we in rounds with the swarm?

Take 10 on Acrobatics for 11 to get down there.

Upon landing, Monterey remarkes, "I stay by my statement that this museum should be shut down."

He recasts Light on his Greatsword so everyone can see alright.

"D......."

Monterey heads down.

"G......." He gives a thumbs up to Durvak.

Did we ever figure out what kills brown mold?

"Hrm, maybe that'll work. Sounds like it might hurt, though."

I don't mind using my own charge for that Durvak but also appreciate the sentiment (since I'm assuming you already marked it off ;) )

"Not looking forward to that madhouse again... anything we can do with the fungus in there?"

Didn't thank Durvak for the healing. "Yes, thank you Durvak."

Going on a business trip, leaving today and won't be back til Friday evening (USA Eastern Time). Will still be able to post but want people to be aware about possible slowness, and leave tactics just in case.

Tactics: Just hit it! Probably won't rage if I'm being botted. Look under the Current Attacks spoiler in his profile for details! (He's out of Claws but can still use his weapons)

Monterey says in a quieter voice to the party. "Hrm, I wonder if Nigel knows what any of this stuff we has is..."

Monterey huffs and puffs. "No... none yet. We still haven't explored everything yet though. Think we need to go... deeper." *Dramatic Music* Dun dun dun...

"Rah! This thing is making me angry!"

To be fair, I have a Loremaster, Arcane Archer, and Shadowdancer all being leveled as well. ;)

I'm excited for it. I hardly ever play a beat-face character (I usually stick to casters) so I am glad I found a way to be both to some degree.

Same. I was planning on Extra Rage next level actually, since Monterey is done with barbarian levels forever.

Monterey follows behind. A little less enthusiastic than before...

Don't worry. Monterey's mad, I find it hilarious.

Monterey emerges from the mess, panting and wheezing, claws retracting, bite marks all over his body. He looks at the party in his fatigued state, and sighs. In a dismissive, deep voice, he states "This museum sucks."

He begins shaking off goop dripping off his arms, and wipes down any mess all over his armor and body, stepping away from the veritable mess on the ground.

"At least I'm a gnome." Monterey says to himself, as he casts Prestidigitation to wipe off any excess goop from himself and his greatsword on the ground. He then re-sheathes the greatsword.

Gritting his teeth, "Anyone want to use my cure wand on me please?"

He also offers to help clean anyone while his spell is still going.

Will deal with healing math and stat line math in a little bit (He is down 12, due to one point from the missed alchemist fire... and also down 2 con). No one would happen to have a lesser restoration would they? ;)

This is just disgusting.

Muffled fury is heard from inside the creature. Monterey continues to rage and have his claws out.

I usually don't worry about the penalty when I'm attacking the thing grappling me for that reason.

Monterey points to the previous room, then walks into it.

Monterey follows Volar's lead, clearly cursing when no one can hear him.

"Is there anything over there?" Monterey says this as he heads into the room, staying close to the sentient fungus just in case.

Monterey follows behind Durvak.

"Umm... guys? Unsure what to do here..."

"My name is Monterey. Who are you? And what are you doing?" Monterey seems slightly annoyed.

"Gross." Monterey isn't volunteering to be the first one in there.

I'm not getting anywhere near that body... Monterey opens the door.
