Mirtha let's out a loud yelp to shake up the remaining for, then follows up with another spell, this time attacking their mind.

Mirtha raises her hands in the air once again and underneath the construct's feet a ball of molten lava rises out of the earth.

Mirtha then whispers a few inaudible words to Zenith. A hissing voice then whispers in the kayal's ear. "Use your blade to make them suffer. No fear, no mercy."

Diabolic Edict

Zenith will get a +1 to skill and attack rolls for 1 round, as long as she chooses to accept the affect.

Two actions to cast flaming sphere, 1 action to cast Diabolic Edict

Mirtha gathers her allies around and channels energy. Red flames appear on the wounds of anyone still hurt and begin to sear them shut.

That'll top off Argoni and help everyone else. I think we still have potions for Zenith and Kernal to use. Or I guess if we have the option to repeatedly spend 10 minutes refocusing for Lay on Hands, Mirtha could save that spell.

Seeing that red looks ready to surrender, Mirtha lets loose with a pithy quip to throw them off. Something really creative and cutting that is guaranteed to distract them.

With the rogue's will nice and softened up, Mirtha then lets loose with her pitch.

"Come on, you can see this battle is lost. We are closing in on you. Do you really want to be the last one to surrender? Let your buddy there die for the cause if he wants but we're giving you the chance to walk away with your life right now."

Mirtha raises her arms into the air and unleashes a dread incantation. The life begins to drain from are wide area, killing any mold and sucking energy from the three rogues caught within it.

"The blessings that Sarenrae bestows can also be taken away!" she shouts as the spell completes. Then Mirtha retreats to get safely behind her allies.

I don't know a really good way to draw a burst template on the map, but when you draw a circle anything that is not fully inside it is outside the area of effect on a burst. So it should hit all three goons and not hit any of the allies. I did also provide an example of the template as well so you can see what I mean.

Mirtha will assist her allies with wound treatment, as she sees that many of them have been injured in the last fight.

I'm assuming that we might have some time for healing. Mirtha is not the best at in the party at Medicine, so she will concentrate on the less wounded members of the party.

When she hears Zenith cry out Mirtha moves to get a line of sight on her. Seeing that the warrior is wounded Mirtha channels energy. Red flames flicker around Zenith's wounds, searing them shut.

Mirtha climbs up the stairs, then rushes towards where her allies fighting some small winged creatures. Instead of getting a spell out she tries to identify the creatures so that she can shout out a warning to her allies.

Two actions to Stride; then she is going to try to make a Recall Knowledge check against the little flying critters. Mirtha has Nature and Religion +7.

Mirtha stiffens when Argoni hugs her then she squirms out of his grasp. "Yes, I'm glad my oratory skills were of use today," she says. "I just have to hope that they don't do anything to make us regret our mercy."

Finally a chance to use Group Impression! As an Expert in Diplomacy Mirtha can target all four kayals with one check!

Mirtha steps forward and clears her throat, ready to address the kayals as she used to address the courtrooms of Cheliax.

"You know that you are surrounded and that your attack has failed. What you may not know is that the room you chose to barricade yourself in contains valuable and fragile writings that could be easily damaged in a melee. You will be held responsible if anything is damaged. But if surrender right now, I can promise you that we will grant mercy and any punishments for your crimes will be mild, if not out right forgiven. So please, let's end this peacefully today."

"I think we should deal with the goons who have locked themselves in the archives first. The longer we leave them down there the more time they'll have to wreak something valuable."

Mirtha looks at Argoni and tells him, "Make these thugs stop attacking us!" A high pitched voice hisses inside the halflings head, [smaller]"Yes, mortal, you will make them stop. By any means necessary."

Diabolic Edict:
You issue a diabolic edict, demanding the target perform a particular task and offering rewards for its fulfillment. It gains a +1 status bonus to attack rolls and skill checks related to performing the task. If it refuses to perform the task you proclaimed, it instead takes a –1 status penalty to all its attack rolls and skill checks.

That command is broad enough that Argoni should get the +1 status bonus regardless of whether he attacks or uses Diplomacy

Then takes another tactical step backwards before retreating towards the stairs as fast as she can.

Sorry, but I'd like to get through this fight without going into Dying! One action for the Focus spell, one action to Step, and one final action to Stride

Mirtha blocks the short blade with her magic shield, turning the flesh wound into a minor scratches.

Mirtha takes a tactical step back, then fires a stream of fire at the rogue in red.

Mirtha reaches back and touches Avery's bow. Black smoke trails from her fingers and creeps up the shaft of the bow. The weapon turns black and hot to the touch and now vibrates with magic.

"Sarenrae will make your aim true!" Mirtha hisses as she completes the spell. Then she holds out her grasps her holy symbol and mutters another word. A magic shield of glowing red light hovers in front of the gnome.

Mirtha smiles, amused at the realization that she is talking with a follower of Razmira. "All lies are laid bare in the truth of the Dawnflower's holy light and then the wicked will be roasted in the righteous heat of her fire. We'll have to see what your power your god has when the flames come for you, as they will for us all.". The gnome suppresses a giggle as she says this.

Mirtha greets Zenith as they arrive and adjusting her tight collar she goes to mingle with the rest of the arrivals.

Mirtha nods approvingly when Ithuriel enters the room, sensing another person who has been clearly blessed by the divine. "I am glad to see another person of faith is coming along on this expedition. It is always good to have the blessings of the gods whenever we embark on a dangerous expedition."

Mirtha is a very serious looking gnome dressed in black clerical garments and an oversized symbol of Sarenrae that has been painted in bright, glossy crimson. Her hair is bright orange and rises from her head like flames. Being the second one in the room, she looks Alonza up and down with her eyes narrowed in obvious disapproval before wordlessly walking away to turn in her paperwork.

Mirtha eagerly fills out the paperwork, carefully examining the lines for any loopholes or unexpected implications.

Mirtha signs, then initials the line waiving her right to press charges over incidental damages that may occur in the field.

And she is also going to purchase a lesser antidote and a lesser anti-plague elixir, which cost 3 gp a piece.

Yes, thank you for GMing. And I think Mirtha is going to spend some of her new found pocket change on some antidotes, because it's dawning on me how dangerous poisons can be. They were seldom an issue in 1e.

If Mirtha can act after that healing, then she will direct a two action heal towards Serj and then use a 1 action heal on herself.

Really? That's a relief. This is my favorite 2nd ed character, but by the gods full casters are fragile! She gets taken down by a critical hit in half the scenarios I've played.

Ok, so just to be clear, the only way Mirtha has any chance of survival is if she gets healing this round. She is at dying 2 and taking recurring damage, which she she very well not save against. I think one of you has Battlefield Medicine.

Or even better lay on hands!

Darn, this was one of my favorite characters I've ever made and I don't think I'm going to survive this one. I foolishly used my hero point rerolling that Diplomacy check, but that poison would probably kill her anyways. Learn from my mistake and save your hero points for crit fails and dying condition!

"Stop messing around with those bushes and kill this thing!" Mirtha yells at Zac. The red in her eyes blaze like smoldering coals. The warrior hears hissing voice in his head urging him to rush to the aid of the two imperiled gnomes.

That's a +1 status bonus to attacks and skills checks if Zac accepts the command, but he does have to be willing to accept the effect.

Then grasping her holy symbol, Mirtha casts sanctuary on herself.

Praying to Sarenrae that this monster doesn't have Attack of Opportunity as well!

"Well I have to say that I'm happy to see you Professor," Mirtha says over her shoulder as the inventor lands with a crash nearby. "I thought that I was going to have to kill this creature by myself!"

If Mirtha can, she is going to Step away from the King, but if that square is difficult terrain, then she will Stride away as far as she can first.

Mirtha tries to keep her distance from the King so that she can cast another spell.

"You are going to face divine judgement for your misdeeds! Do you think a few twigs are going to keep that from happening?

Mirtha calls forth another blast of magic, blasting the area around the King with choking, plant killing smoke.

Sorry I'm not being more creative, but Sudden Blight just seems so good for this situation.

I haven't really had to Seek in combat yet, so it'll be interesting. If I had more level 2 spells, Mirtha would just nuke the whole forest with Sudden Blight instead.

BTW, Zac are you at all interested in using that cold iron spear? Or, alternatively is there anyone that uses a weapon in combat and has a need for magic weapon? If so, then casting that would be Mirtha's first action if a fight breaks out.

A sickly red light shines, but it is coming from the ground, and not from the sky. Along with the light there is foul smelling smoke and strange whispers. But the enchantment seems to heal, sizzling open wounds shut and stitching broken bones back together.

Mirtha can also Treat Wounds, but we got to keep Kaclenna alive first.

Does anyone want to hold onto the spear? If the creature does have cold iron weakness it could be devastating. And Mirtha has magic weapon to bring it up to par with any magic weapons you have.
