Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
At first, Miri stares at Cerian blankly.
Moments later, Madame Pindles proudly draws herself up to her full three-feet-two-inches of height. "You are speaking of the River Kingdoms Restoration Project, my good man! Any efforts toward exploration of the lands here are useful efforts in the eyes of the organization. We particularly want to ascertain the sort of flora and fauna native to the area! Our initial forays into the wilderness were mainly fruitless, but they did establish a strong fey presence, possibly indicating--"
Her blustery speech stops suddenly. "Ah, listen to me, jabbering on when there's work to be done. All aboard who's goin' aboard!" she cries, leaping into Toothless's saddle.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
I just realized I've been playing with a 19-point buy when we were supposed to have a 25-point buy. I think I just forgot to add my racial bonus to Charisma.
Currently my stat array is as follows:
- Str 11
- Dex 14
- Con 14
- Int 12
- Wis 10
- Cha 17
And this would be my array after pushing it to the 25-point buy.
- Str 11
- Dex 14
- Con 14
- Int 12
- Wis 10
- Cha 19
I'll make the changes to my stats in a day or so so that our new DM has a chance to verify.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
"Ahh, what a beautiful day for glorious conquest!" Madame Pindles chitters merrily in bird-like pitches as she places the finishing touches on her hair and primly straightens her cuffs.
"Those bandits are sure missing out on this gorgeous weather. Lead on, fair Hella!"

I honestly haven't looked at the Kingmaker positions in ages, so I was super flattered by the suggestion of Miri as Lord High Dictator of the Restored River Kingdoms--- I mean, as your gentle, benevolent ruler. Thanks for the votes of confidence! I'm seriously grinning like an idiot, although if another position is more appropriate I'm flexible.
Love the idea of High Priest Aluxion. "Y'all folks need Erastil!"
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
The gnome bounces up and down merrily as the spook falls to her bolt. "Lookit that, Darbi! I can hit things sometimes!"
The thylacine simply levels an amused glance at giddy Miri before sniffing at the Wolf-dissected remains.
Miri squeezes past Nedyr and Cerian's legs to inspect the corpse. Her pink eyes squint in focus as she tries to figure out what magic could animate a gourd-headed man.
Shrugging at long last, she lifts a piece of the dismembered head. "D'ya think this pumpkin's edible?"
Ready to move on whenever!
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Hey! I totally have been checking the campaign. I'm still in!
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Y'all are too sweet :D
Her laughter halts abruptly as her face draws into a frustrated pout. "You vile creature! Get back down here and die like you're supposed to!" Her voice is stern, reprimanding as she loads her crossbow again.
"We are part of the River Kingdoms Frontier Restoration Movement, and we will not be waylaid by some insolent--"
She wrenches the crossbow lever into position. "brainless--"
She lifts the weapon's sights to her eye. "spook!" She fires!

It's just so versatile it's ridiculous. I've used Minor Image to some effect (turning myself invisible and sending "myself" ahead in the hallway), but that's about the extent of it.
Silent Image especially gets screwed because, well...it's silent. About the best thing you can do is make a wall or something with it, and even then, most of the time even the hired goons are going to be like "Why is there a wall here?" Making a wall is super-useful!
Say you're fighting a bunch of ranged mooks. Cast silent image, but flavor it to appear like you're casting a spell that uses the surrounding earth to make a wall. So yeah, the mooks know you cast a spell, but until they get close enough to touch or shoot through the wall, they think you used a spell that actually makes a wall and will act accordingly (try to move around, most likely, giving your party time to plan).

The gnome greets Hella with a ridiculously fancy bow, with plenty of hand-waving and even a few pirouettes. "I'm feeling fantastic, Miss Hella! Fresh as a daisy, like I'd been sleeping for ages. Does my hair seem brighter to you?" She fluffs a particularly gravity-defying lock and pretends to preen. Darbi races around the yard with Red Wolf, but it's clear that Wolf is holding back a bit to let Darbi keep up.
"I'm eager to hit the road!" She cocks her head as the thylacine lets out a grumpy harrumph. "Darbi says we're burning daylight," she confides. "Shall we wake the others? I can think of some particularly nasty ways to get them up...."
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
I'm not sure how many days have passed in my absence. If anyone knows, please feel free to correct me.
"GOOD MORNING, DARBI!~"
Miri bounds up from her bed bright and early, carelessly straightening the sheets with a wave of her hand. She chatters merrily to the grumpy thylacine as she does her morning stretches, pausing only to luxuriate in the invigorating feeling of the fresh magic that bubbles through her body like sparkling wine.
After dressing neatly for the day, orienting each hairpin just so, she skips out to the fenced-in yard with her Constant Companion at her heels, and begins the day's training. "Let's go, tiger-eyes! Move-move-move!" Working toward the Flank trick, day... 5/7?
After half an hour of dexterous drills, she ceases her chirpy orders and pounces on the "overgrown puppy" for petting, head-rubs, and belly-scratches.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Hella wrote: "So motto? What is a motto?" "Nothing, what's a motto with you?" Miri's giggles sound suspiciously like the sound of a drum and cymbal. "I do like the idea of the colorful wolves! Brown, black, auburn, silver, violet..." The thought of a banner with the splotches of lovely colors pleases her immensely. "Though I think a burgundy backdrop would still look quite lovely."
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Miri is delighted by the talk of banners and flags. "Green? That's so boring. How about orange? or cyan! Maybe a lovely burgundy?" She tugs a lock of her faint magenta hair absently as the discussion ebbs and flows, then retires after their late-night meal had ended.
How many days have passed? I was teaching a new trick to Darbi but I'm not sure how many days I have left.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Yay :) I'll try to get caught back up quickly!
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Sorry to have been away. Without going into too much detail, I had to move in a hurry. There was a lot of self-loathing involved, and I missed a few weeks, then felt like too much of a terrible person to come back.
I've been doing better, and I'd love to join in again if you'll have me.

Madame Pindles bounces in excitement as the monstrous canids flee. "Sorry to interrupt your idea, Madame Hella. I'm just glad they're not aligning us with lunch anymore!"
Her grin sobers slightly. "Wouldn't that be a sight? Kobolds mounted on worgs!" The gnome shudders dramatically.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Miri doesn't have Knowledge (nature) though, so would she know they speak Common?
I mean, I'm cool with whatever you decide, but I don't want to make other peoples' skill checks less useful, y'know?
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Speaking of Level-Up, since we okayed Animal Archive, I'd like to give Darbi the Totem Guide animal companion archetype. It doesn't change anything on her til 3rd level, but I figured I'd go by PFS rules and make a last-minute change as we leave level 1 behind.

Miri slowly drinks a cup of warm water with a cinnamon stick in the morning watch. "Magic's nice, and all, but I can never quite get made-up cinnamon to taste right," she confides to Aluxion.

Darbi catches the scent of the beasts shortly before her purple-haired friend takes notice.
"Eep!" Madame Pindles squeaks. "It's too early to be getting torn-up and bloody! Hella, can't you make them go away? Tell them we taste bad? If it helps, I can make us actually taste bad..." Her words are spoken at a rapid-fire pace, nearly breathlessly, as quietly as she can remember to be.

Casting Speak With Animals. I know a surprise round only gives one action; is it Handle Animal or Diplomacy to try to get them to back off?
Edit: I can't move myself, so if I'm in someone's way, please go ahead and move me elsewhere!

Upon gifting the loot bag to the hunter-cleric, the gnome at last takes notice of the conversation. "Statue? What statue? Is it valuable?"
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
The odd look of the thing sparks a memory- a fragment of a tale half-whispered in a tavern half a decade ago. "That's right, Nedyr" she murmurs, lost in thought. "Its.... his name is Gelthar. He's long-since-been destroyed, though. Why would these shamans want to sing his praises? Could there be--" the gnome strikes a daring pose-- "EVIL afoot?!"

Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Madame Pindles pays only cursory attention to the conversation occurring between the kobold and the elf, instead rifling through the coins quickly to get a sense of their combined wealth. Darbi is unimpressed by both, and sulks a bit on her own, feeling dejected that she didn't get to fight another mite.
Appraise: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Welp. I'll get better, I swear!
So much copper- I guess this is why no one says anything about mite hoards, Miri thinks, slightly grumpily. She instead hefts a spear experimentally, and is pleased to find it weighted appropriately for her small stature.
She ties up the bundle of coins in a cloth, considers the weight of the bundle, then the others around her. They're all far more trustworthy than I am... but he's the fairest, even a child could see that.
She pokes Aluxion in the hip until he looks down at her. Putting on a winning smile, she offers the bulging bundle of booty. "You got room for this're bag o' bits, pardner?"
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Hexes are always useful, Neddy! I love that witches have 'em.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Forgive me for not knowing, but how are you doing new spells as a spontaneous caster? Do I know them immediately upon level-up? Do I get the spell slots immediately and the new spells after resting?
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Sorry I've been gone. I'd like to keep playing if you'll have me.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Still attempting to demoralize the King Mite
Seeing her stellar rhetoric leave the king unmoved, Mme. Pindles switches topics. "And another thing-- do you even realize how silly you look on top of an insect? It's vermin- it's only letting you ride it because it's somehow even stupider than you are! What a joke- you couldn't ride a real beast, just like you couldn't lead anyone smarter than the backwards troglodytes that comprise the rest of these pitiful creatures that see fit to call themselves fey!!"
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Miri can't actually do anything with the given positioning, so she'll continue to attempt to demoralize.
"Oh, and what's this?" she continues grumpily upon seeing the mite on tick-back. "Are you supposed to be the king here? GUESS WHAT? The King of a Pile of SKUTPALLUR, that's all you are!"
She waves her hands menacingly. "I bet you're just grumpy because you have to smell yourself all the time! Why don't you come down here and let me clean you up-- I'll warn you now, though: I can't fix UGLY!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Target is the King Mite
Feh...
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Miri tries to aim with her crossbow, but can't see around the legs of the taller people in front of her. She keeps it handy and instead attempts to solve things... diplomatically.
"HEY YOU BALD, MISSHAPEN EXCUSES FOR FEY! YOUR SKIN NEEDS MOISTURIZER AND YOUR CAVES SMELL LIKE DEGRADED RAT CARCASSES! YOU'RE GONNA NEED TO CHANGE YOUR NAME AFTER WE FINISH KICKING YOUR BUTTS- I'M THINKING 'MITE-BE-SCARY-IF-YOU'RE-A-BLIND-INFANT' HAS A NICE RING TO IT!"

"Hey- HEY!" Miri pouts as the bigger people crowd in the tiny neck of the tunnel. "I can't see anything..." she whines, and cranes her neck to try to see what lies down the tunnel.
Darbi joins in the gnome's whines with shrill sounds of her own, but almost sarcastically so. The effect is not lost on Miri, who glares at the thylacine grumpily. "That's not funny!"
This is fun :D
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Mme. Pindles snorts. "And here I'm having trouble imagining how humans manage. You lot have so little time to wander, and yet you seem so content with it!"
She creates a smoky duplicate of her face which preens with her before vanishing. "I've probably been alive twice as long as you, whippersnapper, and I'll still be fresh as a daisy when you're bobbing your grandchildren on your wrinkly knees."
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Why *wouldn't* you sit and pray for 15 minutes in a dungeon? That's what I want to know.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Y'all are too sweet~
Was there anything in the room worth taking?
"Ladies and gentlemen, your assistance is appreciated," the gnome proclaims stiffly, but her demeanor quickly dissolves into a wink and warm smile.
As if to prevent any further disparaging remarks regarding her cleanliness, Mme. Pindles stubbornly wipes herself and Darbi with another round of prestidigitation, then flounces along behind the group.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Mme. Pindles sniffs haughtily at the mite's outrageous accusation. "Are you stupid and blind? Who's the one living in a muddy hole in the ground? Despite the filthy nature of your corridors, I'm not the slightest bit dirty."
A thought strikes her. "Perhaps you don't speak proper Taldane. I said, ARE.... YOU.... BLIND.... " The gnome pantomimes her message with exaggerated gestures and overly enunciated syllables.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Surprise Round
Miri begins to giggle hysterically as the mites topple over one-by-one in slumber, sounding nearly as menacing as a chittering squirrel. "Get 'em, Darbi! They're sitting ducklings!"
The thylacine bounds forward, with her gnome companion hot on her heels.

Darbi bares her teeth and attacks one of the sleeping mites to the south, and everyone in the room can hear the sickening crunch as her teeth crack bone.
Darbi performs a coup de gras on the helpless target as a full-round action.

"I just can't believe how rude they are," Mme. Pindles exclaims, magically wiping the oddly-colored blood from Darbi's muzzle. "They seem to think I'm the enemy. Why, we're nearly kindred spirits! I'm sure I could teach them a thing or two about pranks." Her eyes glint mischievously. "I mean, they fell for the cave-in trick!"
The gnome sighs dramatically, laying an arm across her forehead in dispair. "Sadly, I only get to pull that off once a day. But..." She straightens up, tapping a slim finger on her pointed chin. "...If we have an idea for an illusion that requires no sound.... well, that I can do!"
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
I think it would be fun ^__^ I have a really weird schedule though. Sunday evenings work for me though!
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
The gnome grins at the frightened little mite, watching the terrible doom they had sought to bless her with creeping into his eyes instead. Feels pretty nice, don't it?
The smile never leaves her face as she reloads a bolt into the crossbow and calls Darbi on to attack.

Mme. Pindles lifts her small crossbow, focusing on the riderless centipede. "You look squishy enough!" she crows, letting the bolt fly.
Shoot into Melee: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 4 = 9

Miri cranes her neck around the room. Her favorite spell would only incapacitate her friends, but just as she is about to give up the effort and raise her crossbow, she notices the tunnel across the room. Let's see if they're as dumb as they look...
Suddenly the sound of the ground rumbling and the sharp crack of falling rock against stone begins to emanate from inside the tunnel on the opposite side of the room. The sound gets progressively louder, and then tapers off to the sound of the fallen stones settling in place.
"I've caved in your tunnel, you've got nowhere to go now!" Mme. Pindles crows triumphantly.

Mme. Pindles exhales slowly at the unsettling news. "And they've seen us? That's just wonderful. Careful..." She hesitates. They all need to be careful in this cramped tunnel, but there seems to be nothing to do to take care.
Is this a surprise round?
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
That order works for me.

Darbi's Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Miri slinks along behind the rest with Darbi at her side. She manages to keep a straight face, but the way the others look trying to fit into the small tunnels is downright hilarious.
Since there's so many in front of her, she resolves to be more careful about what they leave behind, using her and Darbi's better sight in low-light to make sure they're not being followed.
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Mme. Pindles laughs hysterically, snorting, with tears dripping out of the corners of her eyes. She recovers after a moment and glowers haughtily at Nedyr. "That was awful."
She picks her way across the crowded room easily, "accidentally" stepping on one of the mites, and peers down the left-side (top) tunnel. "Well now... Left or right? Do you have any preferences or hunches, Madame Hella? Or Sir Screamingtrees: what do your elven eyes see?"
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
The gnome finishes her examination with a nod, and spins around casually to her companions. "This tunnel seems completely unremarkable. We might go this way if we want a place to rest later on."
Female Gnome Sylvan Sorcerer 2
Mme. Pindles nods her thanks to Arilyth. "I'm not much for front-line fighting, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks!" Rearing back, she tosses light into the open area like a grenade- a glowing ball hovers in midair, lighting the room. I wonder if they're sensitive to sudden light? she ponders, then whistles at Darbi. "Sic 'em, girl!"
Handle Animal DC 10, auto-success
Darbi surges forward, snarling at the fey.

Her teeth sink deeply, but seem to do no harm.

I was under the impression that we were a short distance from Cerian, but it's hard to tell. Is that correct?
