Chris Lambertz wrote: Quick note: using "prostitute" and "slut" as descriptors here is misleading/offensive and obfuscates the question you're asking. If you're trying to get information on how to play a character who worships Calistria, you probably want to start here (that page contains multiple book citations to get you started also) and likely do a search on our forums for worshippers/builds for Calistrian followers. Oh hey, the book citations, amazing. I didn't even think to look there at all, perfect. Also, if I knew how to efficiently search every text for what I wanted, I certainly would have before asking which books were valid. All I know how to search is by title, not by content. Thank you for the help! ![]()
I have an opportunity to play a well framed elven witch. There is a lot of meshing with the class and deity. A winter witch from Hoarwood in Irrisen. They have orgies and lack of reservations regarding sex. Calistria being an elven diety with a sexual focus fits very well for all of this, and her obedience obviously turns a character into a prostitute. You can add to this RP by taking perform dancing which will feed off of the 4 to cha based skill checks. I tanked wis down to a -1 to make the character naive. The point of all this is you can , frankly, create a very well meshing, very solid character that is a slut. I do think that the fact that all of the aspects of the character come together so well it validates the slut concept. However I want my character to be more than that. I will have her seeking vengeance on someone that wronged her. I am just not sure for what yet. What I am asking for is, source materials for anything that may help me. The question is, what books can I find good elven / witch / calistra / Irrisen information. I wish to fully develop this character into a worthy adventurer without .. well being all about sex. I am hoping if I can get enough backgrounds on the cultures and areas that I can find a deeper more fuller character base. ![]()

Her Blood is Anti-Chaotic, Instead of Anti Evil. All of her racial's / abilities that would be anti evil are instead anti chaotic. Her axiomatic mace is anti chaotic. Her protection spells are anti chaotic. The theme of the character is entirely anti-chaotic. So much so that she will be evil to enforce the law.Lawful fits against that, I guess you could argue for Lawful neutral, but that wouldn't make her a very good baddie. ![]()
Apart from any mathematical mistakes / spelling. I am looking for any thoughts on a few things. I cannot tell the relative power strength of my character compared to any premade characters, however her AC seems a little high. Using 140k NPC Wealth per the chart. Her items are as follows. Ring of Protection +3
This leaves 15k Left over for other items like gems / potions / treasure. Before I finish out the second page with any superfluous data like that, I would like the reviews on what I have down so far.

While that is true that it is a possible variant for this specific ability. I would now rather clear up the whole FAQ shutting down any damage dice upgrades by labeling them effectively size increases. That would eliminate a myriad of possible issues with mnk using stonefist gloves. Sacred weapon, lead blades. etc etc ![]()
The issue is not with it being size related at all. The issue is with the FAQ language that says due to the phrase "and similar language", that any increase in damage die is considered an "effective size increase" for terms of stacking. Not that it is a size increase, just effectively acts like one. Obviously this is not RAI as there is tons of evidence, but I don't see a way around it RAW without an explicit statement, which has not been found yet. ![]()
The mnk thing applies here. I think we need an exact answer, because without one, the mnk unarmed damage can be seen as using the language " “your damage die type increases by one step,” and similar language" from the FAQ. This makes items like stonefist almost unusable as way as the rageshaper until you polymorph. Is there really nothing out there that explicitly contradicts the FAQ which indirectly infers that any damage die increase is considered an effective size change. ![]()
My DM is arguing that the level 8 Damage increase to the draconic bloodline claws from 1d6 to 1d8 is considered an effective size increase and thus does not stack with rageshaper. I need something to prove this is not the case because not one build I've seen on this forum addresses the fact that the claws do infact increase their damage die. Which by http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9t5u this post, you can only have 1 effective die increase and 1 size based die increase. Are the builds on these forums just forgetting this fact or is there exact language / clarification somewhere I am missing. I don't really care so much about not having optimal damage. I just don't like the confusion. I prob will end up not taking rageshaper just to avoid conflict, but I would like to know for the future. Edit, I realize this might belong in the rules forum, but as this is my first post I couldn't tell exactly. Please forgive if it is the wrong place. |
