The gunslinger's face goes red with frustration as the sword fails to do much. Sure, she was decent with her bayonet. She was familliar with her musket's weight, and she knew the balance. As well made as her borrowed weapon was, it was becoming obvious that Mira Ellis Alder was no swordswoman.

"We're here to rescue everyone" she assures the crowd, more than slightly annoyed by the one man's attitude. She did not want the crowd panicking because of this jerk. Mira hustles in after Quinn and takes stock of the situation. There were civilians to be saved, that was for sure. Luckily, the pathfinders seemed to be drawing more attention right now. Good. Best to keep it that way. The gunslinger raises an eyebrow at the woman in the fur lined cloak, smirking condescendingly. "That's a little dramatic, even for the theatre, don't you think?" she taunts, trying to keep the attention on her and her companions, rather than the unarmed and unarmored civilians. Mira shifts anxiously from foot to foot. They were safe for now, but the sounds of other combat were still audible. Taking advantage of the moment's respite, the gunslinger reloads her weapon, then shoulders it. Other than her first lucky shot, the gun hadn't been terribly effective versus these dead. Mira took stock of her weapons. Rapier and bayonet both were only useful for stabbing. She pulls out one of her daggers and looks at it. She could use this, though not to much greater effect than her gun. "Does anybody have a sword I can borrow?" she asks. Crouching down, the gunslinger takes a moment to examine their fallen foes, hoping to glean any important clues they might have missed when the bodies were more animated. Mira nearly drops her weapon in surprise at the kickback. What had she mixed into that gunpowder to make it so potent? She needed to check her notes when this was over. Well, things were getting exciting now, weren't they? Standing up, Mira reaches into her bag and pulls out a sunrod, which she strikes against the floor, casting a strong light around her and her companions Prep Round 1: draw sunrod, activate Glancing over to her companions, the gunslinger speaks up. "What's our strategy? That door is going to bottleneck whoever is trying to get through, we could use that to our advantage." Vaulting over the pew behind her, the gunslinger positions herself closer to the door to give herself a better shot. With an easy lob, Mira tosses her light closer to the door, to better illuminate whomever breached the door. Prep Round 2: move 15 feet, throw sunrod at door

Mira grins ear-to-ear at the thought of having to get dressed all fancy for the opera. This is what adventuring was supposed to be all about! Schmoozing at fancy parties, dressed in jewels and finery, all while working towards furthering their mission! "I've got to get the jewelry and stuff too. You should come with me, err... Quinn was it? Frost, you should join us too!" the eager gunslinger offers. Fellow girls always seemed in short supply on her missions, they had to stick together! "As for you, Vinny, I think I would actually pay money to see you dressed all fancy. One of those tuxedos with the ruffly scarf-tie thingies." she says with a wicked grin. She liked working with the alchemist, given their mutual interest in exploding powders, but it would be pretty funny to see him in a suit. Mira uses her shopping time trying on dresses, but eventually settles on a more practical gentleman's outfit in seafoam and dark brown. Her gun was going to be an issue. It was far too big to carry into an opera without arousing suspicion, and her grandfather never taught her to use pistols, or anything else small enough to hide. For weapons, the girl buys a set of daggers, and a gentleman's rapier. Maybe if she passed the sword off as a fashion accessory, they'd let it in? And if not, maybe they wouldn't notice a few knives hidden up her boots? Mira buys 4 daggers (8gp), a masterwork rapier (320 gp), courtier's clothing (30gp), and an enameled brooch shaped like an alder leaf (to meet the jewelry requirement, worth 50gp) Upon her return, the gunslinger gives an approving thumbs up to Hanzo. "The red suits you!" she agrees. I'm done with my prep, so here's my diplomacy roll for when we move on:

The gunslinger lets out a little squeaky noise of surprise as the viper sinks its fangs into her wrist. It stung, but it was nothing to be worried about. Still, the pathfinders that hadn't spent their childhood grabbing a stick and chasing creepy crawlies pretending they were knights banishing dragons might find the venom a tad more objectionable. "I'm leaving this one to you Wei!" Mira declares, spinning to face the snake that bit her. The Tengu's bastard sword would make short work of the snake harassing Vinny, she was sure. Mira jumps a little as she hears Vinny's voice behind her. She thought she was being sneaky. The note did say to exercise discretion. She nods lightly as Vinny mentions their common allegiance and relaxes a bit. She opts to defer to Vinny's expertise for the knowledge half of things, and hopes that Wei Ji and Marco managed to cover the courtesy part for the whole group. The gunslinger takes one look at the slippery logs and immediately dismounts. This was as far as Pumpkin would go if she didn't want him to break a leg. She hadn't been riding long, and she wasn't exactly sure how to make a horse jump. Best to learn somewhere safer. Leading the horses over to a sturdy looking branch, she ties a quick hitch with their leads, leaving the animals plenty of head room to graze. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Mira breathes a small sigh of relief as Marco and Wei Ji manage to smooth things over. The gunslinger was always glad to avoid a fight where possible. It made a nice change of pace from the usual pattern she was getting used to as an adventurer. Hanging behind as the others prepare to leave, she takes a moment to speak quietly with Boomropple. "Thank you for your assistance, and please accept my condolances for what occured here." she says, "There are many within the Pathfinder Society who wish to be friends with the people living here. I hope that we will meet again under more pleasant circumstances." As she speaks, Mira passes the letter from her faction to Boomroppel before leaving with a respectful bow.

Mira grimaces as Maedhros assesses the situation. She had no silver anything on her for this situation. Taking her musket in hand, she twirls to face her attacker, wielding it like a stocky spear. She might not be able to do much to hurt them, but she could certainly try to take care of that nasty axe. Mira reaches for the musket on her back, but hesitates as she hears the quavering voice. It didn't sound malicious... More like scared? "Hold up a moment," she cautions the others, "It doesn't sound like they want to fight us." She leaves her weapon on her back - best to look unthreatening and let Marco do the talking.

Bright eyed and attentive, Mira often volunteers to scout for the group, her short stature and light frame disappearing stealthily into the bush when she does. The young gunslinger has brought her newest companion along for the trip, a sturdy palomino that she has taken to naming Pumpkin. The girl is clearly attached to the horse already, and she dotes on it whenever possible. With the others in their group, Mira is cheerful and talkative. Mira takes one last look at her opponents through the mist before withdrawing themselves. It really was a no-win situation.
