Here is my official Earn Income roll for Mimi's 8 days of downtime.

Between adventures, Mimi can usually be found at her grandfather's fencing academy in Gralton giving lessons on the proper use of a rapier.

Mimi touches her hat to acknowledge Korokai's help in healing her, but Fasiel continues with his annoying ranting...

Sigh! She's frightened 1, AGAIN!

...and another twinge of fear hits her, though not so much that she can't avoid Fasiel's repeated attempt to send her to the ground. Mimi then does an impressive spinning dance-like movement around Fasiel before her rapier flashes out of nowhere and skewers the evil creature. She then steps back and prepares for a counterattack.

Hold on. I just noticed a discrepancy. Mimi's max hit points now that she's 5th level is 73, not the 56 listed in the Initiative order (which is left over from when she was 4th level). With the 44 damage she just took, she should be at 29/73.

Mimi watches bemused as one of the snake creatures stares at her strangely and says, "Drop it!"...

...she frowns as she feels the slight tug of compulsion, but the moment passes quickly. "'Ow amuseeng. A talkeeng snake. Eet ees almost like ve are at de circus or sometheeng. Go avey leetel von, I am busy removeeng your master from dees vorld." She turns back to Fasiel in time to hear another stream of drivel coming from his lips...

Since Charmed Life is a reaction, I'll assume she can't use it more than once per turn.

Sigh! She's frightened 1.

...but this time he says something she cannot ignore and a twinge of fear strikes her, freezing her in place momentarily and allowing Fasiel to head-butt her to the ground.

She prone, but never went Unconscious and nothing in Knockdown or Prone says that she drops her weapon, so I'm assuming she's still holding onto her rapier.

Looking up at Fasiel from the ground, Mimi says, "I regret to inform you dat you do not look any better from dees angle, Fasiel." Jumping back onto her feet, she pokes at him twice.

Mimi sees Fasiel start on one of his rants and knows what's coming...

...and so manages to ignore his antics.

She then notices the mirrors breaking whenever Fasiel would take any damage and wonders if perhaps she should just go break the last one. Seeing that Fasiel was somewhat unbalanced from his charge, she decides to attack him instead, knowing that if she lands a blow she would cause the mirror to break regardless.

Mimi is not a big tea drinker. She generally doesn't approve of any beverage that isn't fortified in some fashion. "Merci for de kind offer Safa, but I beleeve ve shall proceed upstairs vithout delay. De sooner Fasiel pays for 'ees crimes de better." Her terrible effigy in the auditorium still rankles her.

At the base of the stairs heading up, she turns to the group, "I expect ve vill encounter Fasiel upstairs and 'ees unlikelee to go down eesilee. If dere are any preparations you veesh to make, perhaps now vould be a good time to make dem."

Once everyone is ready, she lets Dennis take the lead up the stairs and follows closely on his heels.

Mimi is surprised by the elemental barrier and pauses to consider it. She pulls out the perfect droplet that Safa said would be the key of elemental water, and the flaming scimitar that Safa said would be the key to elemental flame. She then beckons to Dennis. "Duhnee, I teenk ve vill need Mehryar Sede's paper bird to use as a key to elemental air." She collects it from him and adds it to the other two. Finally she pulls out the diamond that Chaliz had given them and which he said was infused with elemental earth.

She shows the keys to Safa. "All ve 'ave are deez keys to elemental vater, fire, air, and earth. Vill dey be sufficient do you teenk? Dere's onlee von vay to find out I suppose." Holding out the items in front of her, she slowly approaches the barrier and braces herself for another explosion.

Mimi is a little frustrated at not finding Fasiel or any more of his minions to take her ire out on. When Korakai finds the papers, she says, "Ve better take de papers vith us. De venture-capitaine can decide vhat to do vith dem." Not seeing any other hidey holes that Fasiel may be hiding in, she points south at the room full of taxidermied animals. "Our friend Fasiel must be over dere somevere, more dan likelee up dose stairs I can see." She heads in that direction.

Mimi is not impressed by the scenario that presents itself in what looks to be an auditorium. She is even less impressed when she finds a straw dummy that she presumes is supposed to represent her. "Fasiel ees not onlee a few arrows short of a full quiver, but 'as a terreebel eye for detail." She disdainfully pokes at her effigy with the end of her rapier. "Ees dat painted red mop 'ead supposed to be my 'air? 'Ow insulteeng. And de 'at ees all vrong. I vould not be caught dead veareeng such 'eadgear. Dees Fasiel fellow 'as much to answer for." Indignantly, she storms out of the auditorium in search of the criminal who perpetrated this atrocity. She heads further north and kicks open each door along the hallway in turn, singing out, "Come out, come out vherever you are."

I figure we clear out these last couple of covered up areas before we head upstairs to what I expect will be the denouement of the scenario.

Once Rayyan has left, Mimi looks around the room at the piles of treasures and the limestone tables with Sedeq's history inscribed upon them. "Ve should return deez stolen artefacts to de people of Sedeq. I do not teenk dat Fasiel vill be needeeng dem for much longer." She makes sure that all the valuables are collected before heading north to look into the long room.

Mimi takes the sapphire and watches as Farah disappears in flames. "Dat vent vell, I teenk." She tucks the gem away in a pocket until it is needed. She then steps up to the fallen Anshul and picks up the scimitar. "Eet seems ve vill be needeeng dees soon and pauvre Anshul does not seem to need eet any longer."

The tall swashbuckler then looks around to decide where to go next. "'Ow about ve look in 'ere?" She steps forward to look into the central chamber.

Since I had to piece all this together from the evidence provided, I might as well have Mimi go through the same process :)

Mimi listens to all the back-and-forth between Farah and Safa and starts off quite confused trying to keep track of all the players in this genie drama. After a while, she manages to organize things in her mind a little better. "So Anshul is Fasiel's salamander warrior and Farah is an efreeti that somehow replaced Anshul without Fasiel knowing? Okay, let's put a pin in that. Farah seems to have a beef with Safa because Safa accidently let Farah's brother get captured. As a form of proxy revenge, mainly because Farah cannot get to Safa directly, they seem to have captured a friend of Safa's, the marid Rayyan, and is threatening to send them away for a thousand years. Presumably Safa could ask for forgiveness and avoid this fate for their friend but they seem unwilling or unable to do so. If we do not talk Farah down from their threat, or cannot convince Safa to apologize, then Rayyan is in for a long wait in some inhospitable place. Okay, I think I have it now... maybe."

Mimi decides to try and help Alice talk Farah out of this rather nasty revenge while Dennis tries to get Safa off her high horse. "My dear Farah, I can vell understand your furee vith Safa at de apparentlee involuntaree side-effect of a trick of Safa's. Ve too 'ave suffered such collateral damage at de 'ands of Safa on more dan von occasion. But surelee you can see dat banisheeng un innocent to a tousand years of torment juste to get back at Safa ees a massivelee asymmetric response, no? Ve (apparently) alreadee freed your brother, so de damage 'as been reversed. As a return faveur, might ve not persuede you to leeve pauvre Rayyan out of dees affair? If you show dees mercy, den maybe ve can also persuede Safa to offer a formal apology for de inadvertant mistake dat led to your brother's capture."

Mimi looks over the threats against Safa that Fasiel scrawled on the walls and shakes her head. "Dees Fasiel fellow ees a leetel beet sick in de 'ead I teenk. Looks like ve vill need to go upstairs to find 'eem." She turns and heads to the stairs. Along the way she calls out, "Come along everyvon; ve 'ave vork to do."

A quick check through the character profiles shows that Sunshine has Medicine +11. Any chance she can patch Mimi up with Treat Wounds? If not, then a lesser healing potion it will be.

Another minute or so of jabbing with her rapier finally frees the chains. Only when she stands up to take a long breath to recover does she realize that her hearing is impaired. When Dennis asks if she can hear him, she replies, "Vhat deed you say Duhnee? Speak up, I can barelee 'ear you. Oh, dat's much better." When Dennis tries to be funny mouthing words, Mimi gives him a tired look. "Most amuseeng, Duhnee. You are a véritable comédien."

If No Treat Wounds:
Mimi takes the healing potion from Dennis and downs it in one.

Healing Potion (Lesser): 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 8) + 5 = 14 hit points recovered

Once the room is searched to make sure no more genies are hiding anywhere, Mimi says, "Vhere to now? 'Ow about over 'ere." She marches out of the room and over the the area that opens up to the South from the main central area they just fought it. As she passes Dennis, she says, "Come along monsieur comédien, I may need you."

Shoot! I had a nice roll for Mimi's attempt to disable the chains but then realized that she's only Trained in Thievery, dang it!

Looking over everyone's sheet, I don't see that anyone's an Expert in either Thievery, Arcana or Nature, so disabling the chains is off the table. Time to apply some brute force...

Mimi realizes that disabling the chains is beyond them. She addresses Safa. "Veree vell Safa, pleeze do vhat you can to protect de prisonniers vhile I attempt to remove de chain." While Safa does what she can, Mimi shoos everyone out of the room. "Dere vill doubtless be a veree violent reaction from de chains, so I suggest stronglee dat you leeve de room vhile I take care of business." Here are a couple of turns worth of blows from Mimi. Hopefully the chains will break before Mimi dies from whatever storm energy the chains will throw against her. She has a lesser healing potion in her pocket if someone feels like resuscitating her.

I've broken it into two turns and included multiple attack penalties. Not sure what the DC of unmoving chains might be, nor whether I needed to break up the blows into separate actions/turns, nor how the reactions from the chains will play out, so I'll leave it to the GM to deal with how this is going to go.

It did move along pretty quickly and and I suspect that a responsive GM and Mimi not lingering once a room was taken care of contributed to that. Good rolls also helped get through skill challenges and encounters quickly. Regardless, the RP was great and I had a lot of fun.
