Also this year, the con's gaming guest of honor will be none other than our benevolent Pathfinder Society Overlord, Tonya Woolridge! There's bound to be all sorts of wacky and fun times this year, so mark your calanders!

What if we had already used a rebuild on the character atter the 11th from anther source (ex. a GenCon Gm boon)? Would we get that rebuild boon back?

Hey, as long as We Be Space Goblins is going to be a thing, I'm good.
BTW, make We Be Space Goblins a thing. I might have even statted Space Poog...

3.) Quiet Room: This is a bit pie-in-the-sky, but I noticed there were some Green Rooms behind the Sagamore. It might be nice to have a GM "quiet room" where we can crash between slots and get away from the noise/visibility to recuperate. I know a lot of people thrive on the "always on" nature of GMing back-to-back-to-back slots but I could use 20 minutes to just center myself without a ton of noise and people around and I don't think I am alone.
3: Even a designated hotel room or something close where *Volunteers* AND GMs could go would be exceptionally handy.
Problem I kept running into was I'd try to go to break/lunch and then realize "Oh, crap, there's a thing that needs doing and I don't think anyone else knows about it gotta head back before I forget!"
Having a dedicated spot somewhere close where no phones/text/whatnot were allowed, a purely quiet area to regain focus and recharge (not sleep the entire convention away) would be ginormous. Actually, GenCon, at least the last couple years, has had a dedicated quiet room and it's rather near the Sagamore (near the esclators that go down to Hall D and the little food stand there). I've popped in for a spell on my HQ breaks. Only downside is they close the room at 7, but they have a dedicated "quiet zone" right outside it.
Todd is pretty awesome :)
Anyone still looking for players tonight?
Down for a food run too, failing that I'll look at delivery options.
My understanding is the District operates with Maryland.
From my read of the instructions, there's going to be a single line for generics which will likely form on one side of the Sagamore. They did that last year for the specials and it worked wonders. Not sure if they're doing that for the regular slots, though I wouldn't doubt it.
Still looking for folks for 9-03 Thursday morning (likely bringing my Sound Striker 8 or Rondelero Swashbuckler 8) and 9-01 Friday morning (lots of direction I can go)

Or read through it now, and hopefully there will be a changelog.
You're probably ok making a character now though as it's rather rare that they change the basic stuff. Also look at the Additonal resources document before using non-core material.

Should have made this clear, I do know about the shuttle. I'm personally not a fan for a number of reasons. 2 people in an uber is the same per person. This thread is intended to match up Uber/ cab mates for those who prefer those options. I have found it a fun and interesting way to meet new people. Heck, my first GenCon I had my cab made up at the airport in Richmond :)
Don't think any of the downtown hotels do.
The Westin, where the volunteers are staying and for whom this is intended, does not.
BigNorseWolf wrote: If your caffine comes in coffee form, the hotel cofee maker requires specialty single serve packets that make a small cup. Your own coffee maker is a bit of bag space, but i don't think anyone's going to complain about losing the room space to it.
My preferred caffeine source is diet cola
If someone is coordinating a grocery run, I'm definitely interested in tagging along soI can at least get my caffine supply. I usually make a Trader Joe's run to get dried fruits and nuts to make my own trail mix and other "adventurer snacks".

Dumb question: Have the GMs of GenCon ever thought about subscribing to a catering service or sandwich delivery scheme so that we can all get fed?
Hmm
Having a worked for larger hotels in a prior life I wondered why Paizo didn't work with Hyatt to setup some type of buffet / grab and go setup for volunteers. I wouldn't expect Paizo to pay for it but to facilitate something that volunteers could purchase.
I would be willing to put down say $30 or $40 for the weekend to have a breakfast and one other meal that I could go get.
I know it could be done, the question is would it be affordable. Saw something about GenCon doing something with the Westin restaurant

In years past I had created a spreadsheet to organize VOs that were looking for a ride. Figured it was about high time to expand that out to all of our volunteers. You can find that sheet HERE .
Here's a couple important notes to make this go as smooth as possible:
* The main improvement I've made this year is that I've made seperate tabs for Tuesday and Wenesday arrivals. I've also added a tab for departures to the airport on Sunday and Monday
* This sheet is intended for Paizo volunteers staying at the Westin
* When putting in the airline and flight number, please make sure to use the one of the airline actually operating the arriving flight as it will be the one that is easiest tracked from the airport. This is particularly relevant for our international guests that are likely coming in on a code-shared flight. If your not sure how to find this, the eaisest way to check is to look at the flight schedule of the American carrier in the same alliance (ex. Delta for Air France, American for British Airways, etc.)

Yeah a fully party!!!!
Now just to line up a GM..... Just drop on some poor random :)
I'm still looking for folks the two slots I've managed to get off and playing (9-3 Thurs AM, 9-1 Friday AM). Taking sat morning as my dealer room time and Thursday night will be spent outside the Sag unless something massively changes (because it's been ages since I've gotten a NSDMG in :) )
Looking over the Indiana law references, I don't think a raffle would be doable.

Sadly I'm working during the specials. Hey, I'm running 9-1 that slot. I'd love to have a 5-Star VC come, play and give me feedback on how bad a job I'm doing, err some constructive feedback that is. That's a bit trickier, though it could be possible. Gm requests tend to drive Marshals nuts. I know, I've been the man with the clipboard.

I'll try to get something up tonight or tomorrow. Things have been a tad complicated for me. too many freetiome things and, well, yeah.
Another important note is that there are going to be a wealth of super helpful folks at GenCon. If you have a question, there will be someone that can and will answer it, even on Sunday when we're all a bit haggard. GMs and HQ folks will be readily identifiable and plentiful :).

I think it has something to do with only badge Purchasers (not badge recipients) having access to the housing block. I was going to go look and see what was still available totally out of curiousity, but I couldn't because I didn't *purchase* the badge (Paizo did).
Sounds like a phone call to GenCon/the housing people would be the only real solution.

Yes, but there's no events to sign up for, as Starfinder was filled before badges were released.
And I still haven't gotten my GM/staff badge.
For me, the entire point of going to GenCon is to be able to do things I can't do easily locally, or where having boatloads of folks makes it a much cooler experience, ie specials, and of course Starfinder.
Starfinder, as mentioned was super full as soon as general reg opened, and at this point both 8-99 (in my tier) and 9-00 are gone as well. So now I'm taking time off work, paying for and traveling over 2k miles, and paying eating out prices for food for a week for,..? No point really.
IMO the only solution would be to essentially add some "slot zero" style games. Starfinder and special games only folks who were volunteers could sign-up for once all badges dropped. Obviously some folks would have to step up and GM such things, and space would be an issue but I don't know. Just tossing out ideas. I'm also hoping something can/ will be done for the volunteers who couldn't put up $100 for the privilege of registering on time. I'm fast running out of things I want to do in my limited free time at Gencon
Still no badge here either. Hopefully that gets handled soon
Jordan Agudelo wrote: Gary Bush wrote: Quick question, I am considering coming in on Tuesday but don't have place.
Any Suggestions? Last year I got a la Quinta room Tuesday night for $80 near airport. Then carpooled to pub and then to the hotel. Worked out pretty well. Frequently there are folks coming in Tuesday that will look for roomates at airport hotels.
This does remind me though, the last couple years I've hosted an airport ride share finder spreadsheet for the VO corps that I'm thinking of expanding to all volunteers.
Welcome to the island folks! We really all should wear tropical attire to GenCon
Bob is correct. They shut down ~midnight. Of you have Thursday plans, get them mailed.
Still no badge here either.
Sometimes the badge comes before the e-mail. But yes, still waiting for badge here too.
None, and this is really bothering me.

Well, this week got weird. I'll do my level tonight, I promise!
Gary Bush wrote: ThePuppyTurtle wrote: ...If I buy a badge now, will I get a refund once I get the E-Mail? (I was at a high enough tier to get a badge.) If you have paid for a badge and then get a GM badge, you will get a full refund (no admin fee). The timing may mean you have to wait until after the con for the refund. And the refund will go back to the card used to purchase the badge, no Gencon credit.
I have already received an email from Gencon telling me that the badge I purchased was going to be refunded because of the Paizo badge being placed on my account.
Thing is that this is not a viable alternative for some people. I'm really curious to know what is going to be done for those who can't use it.
I just know after dinner on Sunday I saw several groups (including the group of VOs I was hanging with) forming up in the Westin lobby. Wouldn't hurt to formalize the process slightly, but might be hard with the varying timing.
Same here, this is extremely concerning on my part as this is an issue I've never encountered before.

It's a lot of fun, good food, and a daily beverages. Can't go wrong with that! Keep an eye on the forum for details as the convention approaches. To add, they typically have games all day at Scottys on Wednesday, sometimes even that morning. There are also frequently wandering souls in the Westin lobby looking for games on Sundays. Hopefully we won't have to do quests at the airport on Monday again...

Yeah man, that super sucks. I'm at a con this weekend too, so I'll get Verran updated asap

This might be an early question, but will there be a cutback in the number of PFS teams in the Sag to account for SFS?
