It is absolutely not personal. I fully understand the life commitments, I have an 18 month old, it wasn't all that long ago.
PBP is just a rather slow medium. I agree when we started back up we were keeping at a decent pace, but especially with all my time at home now, it just feels slower than it ever did before on top of actually going more slowly than it had been. I loved the lead in, you've done a good job. I just have found myself less engaged than I'd like as a result, and I don't think that makes me a great addition to the "table" so to speak.

Hey everyone. I think I'm going to have to drop this game. I understand people have a lot going on, but it's just proven to be too slow for me to be really engaged. I don't want to drag my feet in this game and not give everyone the engagement they deserve from a player.

Preacher taps Nodachi on the shoulder and shakes his head, indicating his distrust. He keeps his arrow knocked. "And what might be in your sack, madam?"

Basically it's to prevent easy counters to sunder. Otherwise a bunch of level 1 mages could keep adventures from breaking down doors or whatnot.
The decision was for it to be explicitly used outside of encounters.
The long casting time also matters a lot when your rope is fraying or in the case of our ship campaign, the sails are damaged in a storm.
Again, I doubt the GM cares in this case, but it does alter the spell noticeably.

This was a purely trivial use, so I imagine it doesn't matter, but Mending has a 10 minute casting time.

Seeing the half-orc unarmed, Preacher pulls out the light mace hanging from his belt and offers it to him. "I believe you'll make better use of this for now than I could. We should keep moving, perhaps we'll find your belongings, or at least, something more useful."

Seeing Ironhand raise his fist, Preacher quickly knocks an arrow. His eyes quickly move to the slowest of the creatures and fires a shot.

If the creature hasn't acted yet, it doesn't threaten, and isn't in 'melee' yet. I really should have taken Precise Shot, though.

Yeah. I totally understand it's been a while. The character is totally designed around being really attentive and getting high initiative. I imagine the flavor, as subtle increases to instinctual reaction times. I was also going to pick up the Divination Wizard school at level 7.
I forgot to act when I saw Ironhand take a swing as well.

@GM Chapel - Merius always gets to act in the surprise round, which I missed doing before the encounter. Frankly, he's at least moderately useless right now, so I'm not worried about missing it this time.
I think it counts as a surprise round even if it's just one of my allies attacking unexpectedly.

"We know nothing about where we are either. We were hunting the creature as well. How many companions did you have that you're now alone?" Preacher asked, still wary of the girl, or just further enemies.
I guess I never provided a description. I couldn't find a great picture, and there's very limited pictures of Samsarans. He actually wears his hair long and braided on the sides so that it can frame his face and better distract from his blue-tinted skin. He also always wears shaded glasses. He doesn't need them at all, they're purely cosmetic to hide his pupiless eyes. Beyond that he's wearing practical travel gear, a tunic and pants.

Across the courtyard Preacher notices the small humanoid dragging something behind her. He considers hear appearance unsettling, primed by all the horror he's seen recently, he feels apprehensive about the new figure. Her simple attire made him think that perhaps she was unfortunate are they, but caution was warranted.
"You! Across the courtyard, what are you doing here?" Shouts the Samsaran, trying to keep his voice perfectly steady.

Preacher lets out a sigh of disapproval at Ironhand's pejorative retort. The goblin was, if nothing else, a person who deserved, if nothing else, a non-callous response to her exit. But this was not the time to pick a fight with this happenstance companion. Instead he bites his lower lip, opting to retreat to silence for now.
Preacher nods and keeps close to Nodachi. He renews his light on her new weapon of choice and stays right behind her.

Preacher helped rebalance Nodachi as she leant on him. He took a moment to savor the memory he had, knowing there was some kind of home. Erastil always placed such high value on home. Knowing there even was such a place was a deep comfort among the great sea of disquiet in his soul at the events ahead of him.
The Samsaran then looked over the corpses more clearly than he'd had a chance to before. Seeing if perhaps they'd offer any insight into what is going on in this mad place.

I haven't been checking Paizo forums religiously, so it took me a few days to see this. I've stalled on basically all my other PBP interactions, but I am happy to keep checking again if this game is active again.
I did really like Merius's design and would be happy to get back to him if we want to continue the game.
I'm really sorry to hear about your difficulties and I know how scary it is when your little one isn't well, but thankfully have never had that along side my own personal health crisis. I'm glad to hear you're feeling back on the upswing.

Assuming we're out of initiative.
"It's a whole run around. Does the dwarf's arm reach the roof from the courtyard? Perhaps we're better off just leaving this place the hard way? It's hard enough with the psychotic doctor without those other people blocking us off." Preacher muses, more annoyed than defeated.
Not a particularly serious character suggestion as it would probably heavily derail at least part of the book, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about it.

"I've been around a few times, the lives of my kind are strange. I've lived more lives than you've lived years, they are echoes, shadows of memories long forgotten, and yet, somehow I know a common theme is that trust is and always has been a difficult problem." Preacher walks a little closer as he continues speaking. "Yet Erastil's core tenets are built on notions of community, the idea that we can all trust each other enough to not only exist together, but rely on each other and build something greater. These communities cannot be forged solely behind proof of value and transactions, those are the Golden God's ideals. We don't remember who we are right now, but we must have a home somewhere, or maybe we don't and that's how we ended up in the terrible place, with that terrible creature." Preacher makes a small shudder as he mentions the changeling. "You can either shoot us, turn this into a fight neither of us want, or you can let us through, or perhaps even join us, we are safer together."
I guess, I'll put a rank in Diplomacy next level, or done it this level over Spellcraft. Silly clerics with their low skill ranks. Preacher is really counting on his sermon to help convince them rather than a display he cannot make without his holy symbol.
