Enlightened Ambassador
Even in your short time at Tar Kuata, you have learned a few practical tricks from the Iroran monks. As a move action, you can ente a meditative trance that makes your senses more acute, your reflexes faster, and you mind more focused. The trance lasts for 1 hour, and you can end it (no action) at any point during this time to gain one of the following benefits: gain a +4 insight bonus on a saving throw against a mind-affecting effect, increase your speed by 10 feet for 1 round, or ignore concealment when making attacks for 1 round. When your trance ends, cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet.

Tar Kuata Initiate
The monks of Tar Kuata have recognized your potential and offered to train you at their monastery for a minimal cost. When using the rules for retraining (Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Campaign 188), you treat all classes as though they had retraining synergy with the monk class; those that already have retraining synergy with the monk class instead reduce the number of days required to retrain any class level into a monk by 1. A monk retraining a monk class archetype also reduces the time spent by 1 day for every alternate class feature gained or lost.

Finally, if you are a dwarf monk, you can cross this entire boon off your Chronicle sheet when retraining to gain the Ouat monk archetype (Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Inner Sea Combat 41) for free. If any other archetypes you possess modify the same class feature as the Ouat archetype replaces, you lose those archetypes at no cost. Likewise, if an alternate dwarven racial trait modifies the same racial trait as the Ouat archetype, the archetype modifies that alternate racial trait instead.

Meredith spends some time learning about fighting and grappling techniques. She rarely sleeps indoors, and spends some time as the local animals.

Finally, she knows it's time. She thanks the monastery for their hospitality, takes some water and food, and prepares her journey back to Absalom. Who knows what she will see along the way...

Later on Deluge emerges from a cloud and warns the party. She hoists her shield and casts Magic Fang on herself. "I'll try to keep him held down... wherever he is in that fog."

Upon reaching the mine, Meredith thinks to herself. "Are any of you good at subterfuge? Maybe we can transform our bodies into something native to here and take a look around the caverns." She turns to Meran. "Would these cultists lash out at a lizard, crawling through their caves?"

"Wow, you're hard to hit." Meredith bows gracefully to the woman as she is revived. "It was a lot of fun fighting you. You're going to have to show me how you evaded that grapple."

Meredith stays in the crowd long enough to not seem rude, and then she quickly excuses herself. Crowds are no fun, easily swayed and manipulated. Meredith eats some dinner, finds a nice spot on the floor and falls right asleep.

It would take 22 hours for the Non Lethal damage to heal. Please tell me how many hours pass before we leave so I can use my Cure Light Wounds wand to heal the rest off.

Meredith rises with the morning sun and listens to the monks. Her anger is obvious. "Bertrag. We'll find him. You have my word. I'd wipe out those thugs with or without a reward. Any information on their lair would help us dramatically, though."

Meredith is rather impressed with the woman's agility. She moves around the disk and tries to hold the woman in place.

If I grappled her, she can't use 2 handed weapons, and she takes a -4 penalty to Dex. She also takes a -2 to attack rolls and CMB checks not related to grappling.

When offered a collection of weapons, she politely refuses. "Thank you, but no thanks." She decides to rush in and hold the woman down.

"Huh, you want me to stand here, on this pole?" Meredith frowns. She's not a bird, she would just recall the spider's climbing ability and be done with it. But she will entertain him.

The first twenty minutes aren't too bad. Reminds her of the times she assumed the form of a bird and spied on some smugglers atop a fence.

Meredith gets so wrapped up in thinking about it that she doesn't notice how much she's broken her stance. With a look of shock on her face she plummets into the pool.

"You too, Grog?" She spits up some water. "Stop laughing Snowball, I know that look." She glares at the Snow Leopard before climbing out.

Meredith wears the blindfold and takes a deep breath. "Come."

Transforming into a wolf paid off well. She grew used to her nose, and the hidden world of smell that her human senses were blind to. But not this time- she could smell the oil on his hand and the battered edges of his quarterstaff.

Whether by instinct or by training, she reaches her fist out to match the board.

Thanks to her unarmed training she snaps the board with a clenched fist.

"Incredible..." She looks at her fist. Not even a scratch is on it. "I guess I have both."

She flips through the pages, slightly flustered. "Does anyone find these books useful? If they were talking about agriculture I'd be all over this..."

Turning to the monks she nods. "If we pass your tests it sounds like you don't mind parting with the key. Did I get that right?"
