Meredith sighs as confrontation seems unavoidable at this point. She spurs Rain into action, letting her training take control. She lowers her lance and charges into battle.

You said the leader was behind a line of bandits so I'm assuming I don't have a way to get him, so this would be against the closest bandit. If I CAN get tot he leader, this would for sure be against him, instead, and I would Challenge him for +1 attack, +1 damage, and -2 AC to anyone not challenged.

Meredith dips her lance to the side to force the bandit to move to other side. As the bandit moves, the lance swings back into his path.

This is all very new to Meredith, she's kind of been taking Harter's lead since the beginning.

That's a cool concept. I don't really know much about pathfinders dieties, but just read up on him. Would a moose fit the theme?

Meredith calmly walks Rain over a few steps, lining up a clearer route to the bandit leader. At Harter's words, she looks at him with surprise, never having heard this side of him before. She quickly shakes it off, though, and returns her attention to the thugs.

Meredith finishes strapping down the last of the buckling on the red on gold background padded armor barding of a large dark brown horse. She gives the stallion a quick scratch behind its ears before mounting.

"Oleg Leveton's trading post. Understood. I pray he has leads we can use. We'll aim to finish this trial as quickly as possible, but I promise you, no corners will be cut."

"I have no doubt that you will find Harter to be innocent, but thank you for keeping us in the know regarding the investigation. I've no questions and am ready to depart."

Meredith leans on her blade after the melee, catching her breath. At the gnome's outburst, she frowns, casting an incredulous look at the purple gnome. "Oh, I very much doubt that. Meredith nods at Harter's rally. "I'm with you. Come Master Sven, and show them your hammer!"

Turning to the purple gnome, she issues a warning, "Stay here with Stanslaw. You'll be far safer here than there. Now's not the time for questions."

She turns back to the mob-like brawl and means to start forging a path towards the dome of force. Shield in hand, sword swinging in calculated movements, and gold with silvery etched scale mail reflecting the arcane lightshow show her determined mission.

Stolen Lands group:
Shield and sword back at hand, Meredith rounds the corner on Harter and Tartuccio. At his suggestion, she nods her head, "Aye, Master Tartuccio, let us find Lady Jamandi. I wonder how these brigands got such a drop on us, but now is time for action."

She moves forward through the halls and rooms, covering the pair while on the lookout for Jamandi. She can't help but wonder how Rain is faring outside and casts a quick, worried look out each window they pass.

"This way, Harter," she nearly shouts as Harter seems to start focusing on everything around them, confusing his paladin senses with a loss of direction. Each small pocket of enemies she takes slowly, unwilling to give up a defensive stance in front of Tarttucio, but that doesn't stop her lethal blade from doing its work. "At least the masks make it easy to identify friend from foe," she mutters as they make their way.

After taking it all in, Meredith nods.

"If I'm honest, I care little for the politics behind the drive for it, but liberating the lands from bandits and the like is a worthy pursuit in itself. I've never been part of any such expeditions, though. Is tomorrow morning enough time to outfit ourselves," she asks the small group she's with.

Meredith watches the proceedings with a bemused expression.

"I'm just surprised they let him in, but I'll not begrudge him his dragonhood status if it saves me from a fiery death," she says, watching the kobold scurry back behind Daxiana.

She shakes her head to Stanislaw's question, "No, this is far from a family matter. I feel I'd have been the last one they sent if that were case. This is entirely a personal venture."

"Harter! It HAS been a while. There's been so much going on taht we haven't been able to get a chance and head out your way lately. And don't you know, they wouldn't let Rain inside, no matter what I promised of his intentions," she says, grinning. "No, he's outside, some hands are taking care of him, or better be."

She turns to the group she's with, and starts introductions, "This is Daxiana and Stanislaw Medvyed. This here is Aelbourne Callandriil of the Restov guard. And the little fellow shivering behind Daxiana we believe to be Gax." She leans in conspiratorially and whispers, "We don't believe he speaks a lick of Taldane."

Chuckling, she stands back up, "But at least Aelbourne here seems to be able to speak with it. Everyone, this is Harter, an old childhood friend."

Meredith looks over towards the small group, and grins. "Ha! I shouldn't be surprised to see you here, Daxiana. I heard what happened, even out our way."

She raises an eye at the kobold before turning to Stanislaw, smiling warmly, "I know what brings Daxiana, but does the Church have business here, or is it personal? Forgive me if I'm prying."

Turning her attention to the half elf, extending her arm in greeting, "That is a fine blade you have, Sir...?"

Flicking her eyes towards the head of the room, she says quietly, "Jamandi Aldori, this should prove very interesting."

I'd def be interested in ties with other characters. Mere comes from a minor noble house, wasn't happy with her lot in life, took off to avoid an arranged marriage (that seems to be a minor theme here lol), off to make her mark on the world. Don't know if anyone else would want to fit in that in with their own, but I'm open.

A tall human woman walks in the door wearing scale armor. The armor is well maintained, other than the mud flecks around the lower legs, suggesting she quickly came a long distance by horseback. A house sigil adorns both the armor and a shield she carries lightly strapped to her back. her auburn hair catches the last of the sun as the door closes behind her. As she comes into teh spacious hall, she looks around at the large crowd, trying to pick out faces and names that she can.

"I hope I didn't miss Lady Aldori's speech..."

Background:
Order of the Sword Cavalier, Exiled Daughter of House Dawnfire

Meredith was born the second daughter of House Dawnfire, a minor noble family, sworn to the service of a greater lord in Brevoy. Her older brother and sister were groomed as prospective heirs. Her younger brothers were carefully arranged as pawns in the intricate dance of alliances. For Meredith, however, the plan was simple. Marriage for politics, nothing more. But she had fire in her heart and steel in her spirit. She secretly trained in the knightly ways, and her stubborn honor and restless spirit did not suit the silken leash of court.

When she refused a betrothal arranged to cement her house's position the tension between her ideals and her family's ambitions boiled over. To keep peace and save face, her family "encouraged" her to seek fortune elsewhere. She was not cast out in disgrace, but neither was she welcome in the halls she once called home.

Meredith heard of Jamandi Aldori's call for adventurers to tame the Stolen Lands. It struck her as both an opportunity and a challenge. Here was her chance to prove herself. Not as a bargaining chip in marrigage, but as a knight in her own right. The Stolen Lands would not care for noble pedigrees or fine words, but for strength, resolve, and honor. If she could carve out a place there, perhaps she could make the Dawnfire name stand for more than political maneuvering.

Misc:
I'm for sure a new player. I've never played Kingmaker. I plan to go full Cavalier. I have no ambitions towards the role of Baron and would like to stay as an advisor.
