Ah! I see..*Nods* Working something up. Again, thank you for the invitation. (^_^)

Hello again and again thanks for the invite. Just a question. What classes are allowed/available?

Much cheers and best wishes to all. (^_^)

Sounding off. (^_^)

*Bows* Thank you for the link.

Also, thank you for the advice. Much appreciated.

*Nods* Yah...perusing things trying to catch up with as many days as folks have had does seem rather daunting.

Interesting to hear about your own back ground. I'll be extravagant and spend the moneys on the character. (^_~)

Thank you very much for the input and much cheers to all.

*Bows*

Thank you for inviting me.

I'll need some time to read through the rules and work through the days.

Also, with starting traits...One's staring cash can be as high as 900 odd gold. That will be factored in as well, yes? Also, starting at 2nd level will generate moneys? (^_~)

As for 'Gangs' and 'Shack'? I'll try for something a little more fitting for the character. (^_~)

Very much cheers to all.

OKay...am working the character up in 'Herolab'.

I must ask the DM if they don't mind me doing this for the character.

GM Cyrioul:
Basically, there's a trait call ed 'Adopted' which allows one to have a 'racial' trait from a different race.

Meera is actually an 'Old' build, Since I came up with the idea for her the trait's been changed. Now, only a specific type of Aasimar back ground can qualify for 'Enlightened warrior'.

What are your thoughts, Master DM Sir, of Meera having said trait and hence being a neutral good Monk?

*Strides in...Looks around...* (¬_¬)

Hmmm...what folks might need is some 'muscle'...

It's all well and good to slip around doing the slick things, but some times, just some times, there's a call for some one who can stand up to those who'd want to put pressure on other folks.

Then, there's the times when some one who's...entertaining...doesn't want the fun to go too far...

*Flexes lithe muscles*

Meera was created to be a 'special'/'undercover' type...who's game unfortunately stopped but a few posts in.

Looking forwards to seeing what is decided.

Condolences for your loss Sean, DarknessSMK.

Still posting and watching/waiting.

Hey-ya! Suny again. (^_^)

Presenting Meera.

I would like to think my Monk/Ninja can handle some Roguishness. (^_~)

*Raising hand again*

Posting to again show interest in forming up with the second party.

*Bows* Posting to show my continued interest.

Best of luck to all those who're off to the mists. (^_^)

Seriously, this character has been passed over three times and had two game die beneath her. (¬_¬)

Best wishes to all.

While not exactly a 'Rogue', Meera should be able to help with the 'sneaky' stuff.

Much cheers to all.

*Bows*

Offering a character for Dm's perusal.

Given its background, it should be a nice enough fit in any where.

Against Undead though it might struggle.
As the character progresses I shall branch out into 'Elemental Fist' and spend more upon her items, the better to deal with such things.

Much cheers to all.

*Bows*

Best wishes to every one.

Also, since that is the case I shall be watching for said game.

(^_~)

Much cheers.

Sorry for jumping the gun.

deleted deleterious posting. *Bows*

Back grounds, back ground:

Meer'as 'family' began as one of the many Ninja Clans within the land known as 'Minkai'. They had their specialties and their 'Forte', though that which made them 'distinct' was perhaps their back ground of being made up of related half-Elves. Normally, this fact would be hidden behind disguises, the better for their partly Elven heritage to give them a hidden advantage. A Half-Elve's low-light vision a definite boon in a Ninja's nocturnal duties.

As with all things, the clan's fortunes rose and eventually the clan's fortunes fell. Some change in politics within the Empire leading to the group fleeing for their lives and finally ending up as far as they could go without completing the circumference and ending back where they began. To the grand city of Absalom, where they initially learned the ways of these new folk while going about their 'normal' businesses of what ever trades they performed as cover.

Over time, the 'Families' talents and skills saw them gravitate again to their 'normal' level of operations, with 'Day to day' business being used to cover the 'Families' secret skills.

One of the 'specialties' which escaped across the world was the Clan's 'patron'. An other worldly being of mystical harmony and grace, who still watches over the Clan and helps teach and foster the newer generations. Helping instill a small sense f continuity to that which has been lost ad gone before.

Meera was born into this close knit, Absalom 'Family'. Raised in a 'creche' with other h=children of the clan/family and schooled under the watchfully eye of the Families patron, she has learned her lessons well and now works a 'normal' job as a bouncer. Also using her skills to protect Family interests and such.

Her tasks as a tavern 'Bouncer' or 'Tough' she does well, her skills and abilities giving he the definite edge over most tavern patrons who become too intoxicated and rowdy for the establishments financial safety (Too many broken tables and chairs can mean a business goes broke repairing things over just buying the victuals to run an establishment.)

Then there is the safety of the staff which Meera over sees. Making sure that when a serving lass says "No." the inquiring patron definitely understands that means "No!".

Many a fight has been ended with Meera simply grabbing whatever has been at hand and then deftly 'feigning' and bluffing the target with a quick jab such that the target never sees the punch or round house kick which leaves them unconscious and thence removed from the premises.

This has, over the years, left Meera with both a reputation as some one who is good at her job as well as more than a few people who dislike Meera for one misunderstanding or another.

Hence, Meera is often curt and circumspect with those around her, never knowing who might be carrying a grudge for who ever she's lately helped 'leave' an establishment where she's been working. Or who might know some one who is still carrying a grudge from when they were ejected from some establishment.

*Bows* Some thoughts to help the DM get 'into' the character of Meera.

Much cheers to all.

MiniGM:
Are you happy with back story? Equipment as purchased? The idea of the combat style?

Much cheers to all.

Deadline Friday at noon PST, that is 29 hours from now

Is there anything more you would wish to see of this character, MiniGM?

*Salutes* Sounds good MiniGM.

Wishing every one the very best.

I am unsure as to what the DM specifically would like by way of back story for Meera beyond which I've already outlined.

*Bows* To Master MiniGM. Thank you sir.

Meera shifts under the Goblin's scrutiny.

"So, seems as if a few folks found that scrap of paper..." She says by way of introduction.

EDIT: Duly noted Master MiniGM. Post removed. *Bows*

PM sent MiniGM

Looks like you have Meera under the right heading.

The well built and well toned woman walks confidently into the room. Good, solid leather boots buckle upto her mid-thigh. A wide belt tops sturdy leather pants. She wears a light leather vest over a well cut shirt and as she folds her arms -the leather of her long, fingerless gloves creaking softly as she does so. A silk bandana (Of no particular gang colours) holds back her mane of rich, dark hair.

She eyes the Goblin and other Human. Her attitude is not dismissive, but that of calculation and evaluation. She simply nods to both and waits, moving to casually lean against a wall.

For those creating characters and wondering about the 'Classes' behind them Meera is a fighter. Though of a more 'martial' bent.

*Bows*

For MiniGM:

Some quick ideas for background:

Meera's family is a 'fixture' in the underside of the city. Normally only concerning themselves with the 'lighter' parts of the trade, namely as Bouncers, Body Guards, Couriers and the like. What is not known outside of the family is that they are a 'displaced' family originally hailing from Minkai who fell afoul of the politics there. After running to pretty much the far side of the world the relocated Clan went about integrating themselves with the new locals, finding that their previous life style blended in almost seamlessly.

Meera has grown up well protected by the family and trained as per is family custom. Working as a tavern Bouncer she is in a position to both make money and 'Keep her ears open' as she works amongst the bar patrons. Anything of interest she relates back to her 'Elders' within the family so that they can 'Keep abreast' of any developments.

As she's matured, gained skills and worked her way up within the Families hierarchy, she is slowly learning the more secretive background of her past.

Meera is not ashamed, nor worried about her families mixed heritage, nor about any 'looks' she might attract. She keeps her hair contained and protected by a scarf. Her hands and arms covered by 'Wraps' (Or 'cestus') a light shirt, leather vest above leather trousers over which solid boots are buckled up to her mid thighs.

Her position as a 'Bouncer' has won her both many friends as well as many a hot headed patron who would be more than happy to even a 'score' after Meera having removed them after they thought they could cause trouble in what ever establishment she's been hired to look after.

Am going to change one Trait to 'Adopted' which will let me then take the trait 'Enlightened Warrior' from the "Agathion-Blooded" Aasimar listed in "Blood of Angels" (PG 21)

Quote:
Enlightened Warrior: You have always found it easy to maintain inner peace and enlightenment that translate well to the battle field. You may take levels in Monk while maintaining a Neutral or Neutral Good alignment."

I am going to change from "Martial Artist" to a different type so that I can increase the character's Ki pool. (^_^)

]Will also edit the equipment list, since originally the gear was all bought as a 'disguise'. Trade all that disguise stuff in for more useful things. (^_~)

*Bows*

May I offer this character.

Meera's family are all 'connected' with shady dealings. Meera herself being a 'Tavern Bouncer' by trade.

Since I put the character together there have been some more books added to the Paizo stable. As such I may adjust her traits and which 'School' of Monk she is.

Much cheers to all.

All good. I, for one, hope things are going as well as can be for them.

Another bump. So, any one know who our Dm is fairing? Much cheers to every one.

Sooo....four players...but seeming our DM has perhaps wandered away? Hopefully they are still nearby and real Life isn't throwing them too much of a curve-ball.

Much cheers to you and yours.

DM Tarlane and Willard:
*Curses ill luck* Ah..but what about 'Over them', hey?

A pity we don't have a grappling hook. If we did we could maybe throw the line over too the battlements and climb across over the lower guards and across into the darkness to a spot upon the wall which is between the other watch posts?

Such an option would allow us to both keep an eye on what happens bellow and get to where both Willard and Mal/Nolan/Hugh want to be.

So, without a grappling hook to make secure the other end...would 'Rope Use Skill' be enough to use Meera's spare lengths to make a loop/lasso with which to snag a crenelation on the parapet?

Escape Artist Check:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 (The only skill I can think of that involves using ropes to make said lasso/loop. :P

*Meera outlines her suggestion (All of the above) to Willard in a hushed and whispered voice.* (^_~)

Looking to Willard, "So...you want to try the throw, or me? We only get one shot. If the rope drops, the guards will notice it..."

Fear teh Ninja Skillz! (^_^)

Meera would helpfully point out anything that would help with Willard's question/plans of action.

Tarlane wrote:

Willard and Meera:
Climbing up onto the roof of the inn is easy enough for Willy and he's able to help hoist Meera up as well so they can get a better perspective of the town. Very few other buildings in town are two stories, so there is a clear line of sight as far as you can see in the dim light.

It appears there are at least a few guard patrols moving around the city and several couriers moving from door to door of the public buildings, hammering up some sort of notice before stepping inside, likely giving an announcement of the martial law that is being put in effect. Not many civilians seem to be out on the streets at this point, beyond those who quickly leave the buildings after the couriers enter and swiftly return to their homes.

From a distance it is difficult to tell how many guards are at the various stations, but based on silhouettes you would estimate perhaps five men standing before the gatehouse to the keep and perhaps a dozen on patrol in its upper reaches. Most of the towers along the walls look to have about a handful men in or around each of them, with the numbers slightly higher on the keeps towers.

Not long after you get to the roof you see the other members of the group leave the tavern and appear to be walking a slow route towards the keep itself.

I am assuming the guard movements are what you were most interested in. Because its dark you will have trouble getting any real details from a distance, but let me know if there was anything else you were trying to focus on.

DM Tarlane & Willard:
Well, Meera has better night vision than a Human -Thanks to her Half-Elven ancestry- So she should be able to make out a few more things in the wan light. As for the other three leaving the Inn via the back/front door...? (^_~)

.

Catching sight of the others in the group sneaking out into the night full of troopers on patrol, Meera indicates such to Willard and whispers softly into his ear.

"I bet our friends there, are going to be walking into trouble. Seems all the town guard are more prepared than we thought." She gazes about the town from their vantage point upon the gables.

"I say we follow them..." And she indicates the shapes of Mal, Nolan and Hugh.

"What say we let them be bait for drawing in guards. See how well the guards do at spotting them...or maybe us..." She adds ruefully with a grin, "But be in a position to maybe drop down and rescue those three when they do run afoul of any troops wandering about?" She looks at Willard for his thoughts.

Meera's Stealth Check:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 (For when it comes time to move. Also trying to 'Aid another' with Willard's movements)

Meera's Climb Check:1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17 (For when it comes time to move. Also factoring Willard's "Aid another')

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30..Plus any bonuses for 'Low light vision' (^_^)

Well...in a way the guys get a 'Head-start'. (^_~)

Meera shakes her head at Maeltheron's suggestion,

"I didn't see any militia about in the town at all. All they have is guys all walking about in the same uniform." She glances at her friends.

"I think we have a day or two before things start to get heated." She nods at Willard's suggestion

"Aye, talking to anybody who's got sprigs would be a good idea....At least for now. Any one have a guess as to how long before the Baron's side catches on to the idea? Bumping into some fellow on the opposing team who's picked up that clue would be a bad thing to have happen." She points out to them, then sighs,

"Okay...um...'Mal'..." She looks at the Elf with a raised eyebrow in question at her perfunctory shortening of his name, "Since you seem keen for things to happen?" So saying she stands and saunters across the room, gathering up the large pitcher of ale and grabbing Willard by the front of his shirt and dragging him towards the room's door.

Once there she throws an arm around her companion and proceeds to thump, bustle and slosh a merry way with Willard towards her room. (She would thoughtfully be carrying, or suggest as they leave for Willard to bring all his gear). Fumbles at her door latch for a moment, all the while leaning against Willard for support -giggling, chortling and laughing all the while- before opening the portal and dragging herself and Willard inside with a clumsy/loud slam of the door.

For a good half-hour the sounds of furniture thumping against walls can be head before all in Meera's room grows silent

Bluff Check:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29 (To make with the right 'Whoopy' noises and such.)

DM Tarlane & Willard Barnable:

So, the plan is to drag Willard into Meera's room. Give any one who's lurking about a distraction for long enough for them to grow bored and wander off with Meera and Willard taking turns pushing at the furniture and such while the other changes any clothes they might want too in getting ready for a midnight prowl about the town.

Willard has indicated he has a good climb skill and so Meera is more than happy to follow his lead at climbing out her window and reconnoitering the town. She would suggest climbing up onto this Tavern's roof first to get an idea of the lay of the land before Stealth-ing off and looking at whatever has Willard's attention. Should such actions take place within 'Spoiler' tags, DM Tarlane?

Ideas and suggestions welcome Willard. (^_^)

Meera sits upon the window-sill, hands clasping an up-drawn knee. She gives Willard an answering grin/acknowledgment at his comment before talking,

"Well...I'm just a simple guard, here in town relaxing and enjoying spending the coin earned from a job well done." Here eyes slide to look at her co-conspirators within the room.

"Let's not forget who we're supposed to be..." She adds quietly.

"Now, as for getting at the good Captain we just saw? Nah...he's loyal to this Baron, or said baron would've replaced him before declaring against Andoran." She pauses and looks out over the small amount of town visible.

"Also, lets not forget that while we're snooping about in here, the Baron and the Captain also probably have snoops lurking about. You don't declare something as big as a revolution without a lot of planning...." She laughs softly, "At least, unless you're in some sort of trashy romance novel. :P"

"So, Will's idea of a quick look-see into the dungeon proper seems like a good idea, the earlier the better since the guard troop have only just been told and I bet their rosters and stuff haven't been changed just yet..." Her eyes half close.

"I say lets walk around and talk to folks, maybe see where every one stands...Knowing is more than half the winning of any battle..." She finishes quietly, almost seeming to be thinking of some past event rather than where she sits now.

At Will's words Meera glances over her shoulder.

"Well, considering that after tonight all the town's guards we saw down stairs will be looking out for just such a thing..." She grins,

"Then I'd say 'If you want to go climbing around the roof-tops' tonight would be the night." (^_^)

Meera leans against the window frame, one ear on every one elses conversation and her eyes looking over what little of the town the window's vista offers.

Meera immediately heads over to the window, opens the shutters/panes and peers out into the night.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Also, who's room has every one gathered within? Meera would hope it is not Meera's. :P

Meera listens intently as the man speaks, her gaze lost and thoughtful on the bottom of her mug as his words toll out through the crowded room.

As his words come to a close, she stands quietly and does her best to leave the room, heading up the stairs to where her things have been set, while trying her best not to draw attention to herself.

Stealth:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Moving out of the bustle and hub-bub of the crowd as it disperses.

Meera nods slightly at Nolan's words, giving a sign that she has heard him, though she -like Maelthorn- also continues to eat and drink quietly.

Glancing around the room, looking at what appears to be the whole town's off duty guard contingent, Meera doesn't think looking for privacy is going to be an easy thing.

I think every one has had Meera in their midst for a while, judging by their posts (^_~) But, if you want the guys to mistake one of the pretty Bar-maids for myself, I won't mind that either. (^_~)

Meera looks at the well dressed Guard, though no real recognition seems to pass over her features. She surmises he's important but really has no idea by how much. ;)

Yah...so no Knowledge Nobility for Meera at the moment. :P He looks like a rich toff.

Meera glances around at the many Town Guard seated nearby, though she tries to not look like she's looking.

Bluff:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

So...just how 'surrounded' are we by the locals?

Meera sits silently in her corner, slowly eating and enjoying her meal and drink, while she watches the watchers.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Yah...so watching the local Town Guard watch our follow characters etc. ;)

Ah..I knew we had an Elf in the party...so Meera's actions don't change. (^_~) Still trying to 'not notice' her companions so much, all the while trying to get a 'feel' for the current locals.

At Filio's attention Meera actually shy's away from the Elf slightly, though she gives a more (Almost imperceptible) nod.

Bluff:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

And continues to seek out her corner and a meal.

When Meera arrives,

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Since she's an hour behind the times, I'll kick back and let other folks do their thing. (^_~)

Meera waits patiently for he attention of a serving lass and when she does get 'served' her first action is to pay the 1 Gp for a lockable room, then organizes the bathing facilities to be made ready while she moves her self and her gear up to said room.

An hour later:
It will not be for at least another hour before Meera descends back to the common room, washed, relaxed and dressed in normal boots, pants, corset, blouse and fore-arm length, padded, fingerless gloves. Her still slightly damp hair held back with her ubiquitous scarf.

Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

To see what has transpired in her absence (Whether her companions have managed to stay out of any fights ^_~ ) and to look for a nice seat in a secluded corner some where and thence see about ordering a meal.
