Max grabs shots and passes them out to everyone. "This isn't VIP service?? Or do they come all naked for that??"
Max heads for the empty corner booth for strategic reasons. He waves for the others to follow.
Max drops Celebryn and as many others as fit up front and leaves the hover bike. Like many pilots, he is expected to have the ride ready to go. ”No selfies or thumbprints!! No paparazzi!!” Max immediately starts chatting up the security guards. He explains he may pop on for a drink, but his primary responsibility is making sure a quick exit can happen if needed.
Max smiles and nods at Ruhk. "Three things pilots like--scarves, goggles, AND Velcro. I will help whip up some nice designs with my printer." All Max's flight suits have plenty of Velcro attachments for patches. He produces some more attachments that can be sewn on and continues to make two common patches: his caricature of Celebyn all dressed up and a Kyonin flower. Max was going to explain how pilots don't wear goggles indoors when he finds online goggles with multiple visors that pop up to cover the eyes including a no visor option. Excited, he orders a pair and has them delivered to his location. He particularly likes the option to project eyes that are open and alert on the visor, and realizes that this has been used by many to fall asleep at meetings unnoticed. Probably also useful to cover his hangover eyes.
”We will rent a proper jet bike for the day. Your time is so valuable you needed to be shuttled then biked around as fast as possible by the best in the business.” Max links his watch to his laptop. An encrypted connection allows him to bring up local jet bike rentals. I hope I get my deposit back this time.
Max laughs
Max prints out a Velcro patch for his flight suit with a picture of Celebryn in all his glory and attaches it to his flight suit. He picks an elaborate scarf that almost touches the ground in the traditional colors. It is all about accessorizing they say!!
Max loads the winnings of his poker hands into his account. ”Level 40–let’s go!! A flight suit is the dress for all occasions!!”
Max looks at his cards and gathers up the creds to put in his cheeks.
”I am not much for fancy talking—pour me another!!”

He also mentions "Your wikipedia entry mentions you are good at graffiti too." Max puts his custom Level 21 patch on with the scantily clad woman over a two card blackjack on his flight suit. "I am declaring for you guys."
Sensing a lull in the conversation -- Max jumps to his feet to scan the room.
Max looks at the fellow Ysoki with a smile as he sits down.
He looks at Ruhk expectantly.
Max is streetwise -- always show up at the meet early. He will encourage others to join him and thoroughly explore the area a half hour early. Using stealth and being small, he will look for threats and try to see if anyone is prepping something nefarious.
Max slaps his new patch on his flight suit and finishes his quadrocino, a four shot espresso. "I'm ready!!?"
Max makes his own level 21 knockoff patch to put on his flight suit. It is a scantily clad woman showing an ace and a jack. Under the patch it says Level 21 Elite. "Wait for me!!"
Max let his companions speak, but they were unusually quite except for the human who was going to hit the streets. Max points to his comm unit, "Stay on the comm net. I am going to see about getting out to the Hardscrabble fleet, but first I am going to see if there is anyone at their office." Max begins to print up patches for both the Astral Extractions and Hardscrabble Collective. Unsure which one to afix to his flight suit for now, he is content to have them in his cheek pouch for quick retrieval. He heads to the physical address of the Hardscrabble Collectiive, who is sure is the good guys, upset that in this era of ecommerce he had to resort to a physical trip. And, it was not enough to justify renting a jet bike. He beckons for the others to follow. "Who is gonna keep me outta trouble??"
Max checks out his new laser pistol.
Max talks excitedly to whoever will listen as he heads to Hardscrabble Collective.
He excitedly searches for any pictures and news of the Acreon or its crew as he walks using his laptop to search the infosphere.
"It appears we stumbled into a proxy war between the Hardscrabble Collective and Astral Extractions over the drift rock. The street gangs are just pawns, these two companies are the players. Given the nature of the two groups, the Hardscrabble collective is more trustworthy and have the better claim and may be acting defensively. I think I will visit them first." He waves the others to join him.
Max looks around at the group assembled:
He looks at the elf. "My friends used to call the Gap the time after drinking and before waking up, but I assume you mean something else."
Max approves of the upgraded accomodations and realizes that this may be the time to live it up after his encounter with a laser pistol. His flight suit was supposed to be fireprooof, but it wasn't laser proof. He nods approvingly as the elf pulls off the negotiations.
Max took an efficiency in the Moons, not trusting a place not recommened by the SFS.
Max seems a little sad.
Max holds out his own mug as he didn't want to take a Starfinder mug with him.
Max nods and opens up his laptop. He does a web search on both gangs to see how active they were on social platforms. After drinking the coffee and smiling at their hosts.
Max was looking for a power outlet for his coffee machine and perks up. "Quadruple espresso with lots of milk froth! Or I can make my own with the water and a standard power hookup!"
Max slides over with a look of total disappointment.
Max gets in and sits on his booster seat in the driver compartment so he can look out the window. ”I’ll drive, just point the way. Better that than cleaning this nice car after our trip. Let’s see what this baby can do!.”
Max clambers up on a desk to look to eye to eye with the inspector. "He was paying us and giving us a job. So his effects probably have a contract or specifics about what we needed to do."
”The dwarf was with us. We will pay for a proper send off, but we are going to need his personal property.”
In the confusion, Max rushes to the downed gangster to retrieve his laser pistol, he had brought a needler to a laser pistol fight and had the burns to prove it.
Max subtly pockets the laser pistol as he spits out his earbuds from his mouth and turns to everyone holding his earbuds aloft. "My earbuds, there they are!!"
Max holds his breath and moves to join Valtri behind the console.
Max yells to Valtri ”Change this mall Muzak to Metallica first!” He adds ”I have my earbuds out.” Max loved Metallica!
Max moves to the left to get a clear shot at the gangster that shot him and he gets a nasty laser burn.
Max advances to another set of pallets and sees a hostile ahead. He tries to surprise him with a shot from his needler pistol.
Max shot first "I'll try to clear the way."
I think grenades target grid intersection at DC 5, so target bottom right of SM square and make 20 foot range smoke cloud. Turns out STR is modifier —go figure Roll result is 4-1 - range increment vs 5 = miss So probably some scatter chart action
"Let's pop smoke to mess up laser fire." Max scurries to the next spot of cover and tosses a smoke grenade.
Smoke grenade: Description
A smoke grenade deals no damage; instead, it releases a cloud of dense smoke. Each character who inhales smoke must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw each round (DC = 15 + 1 per previous check) or spend that round choking and coughing; he can do nothing else. A character who chokes for 2 consecutive rounds takes 1d6 nonlethal damage. (Active environmental protection from a suit of armor prevents this effect altogether.) Regardless of the armor a character wears, smoke obscures vision, providing concealment.
Max keeps his distance and moves to get a shot at the suspicious ones.
Max is both slowing the taller man and using him for cover, nimbly skiing behind him on the smooth surface of the terminal.
The short ysogi looks out the vision port and the slow approach actually made Max a little sick. He spit tablets out of a cheek pouch and began to chew on the antacids to make his stomach feel better. When Max wasn't at the controls, any space motion was upsetting to him. His hands were shaking, as he was not drinking coffee so he could hold it all the way to Abasalon station. He realized he failed to make it all the way, and Max quickly slipped into the flushie to relieve himself one more time before docking, a quick burst of motion and he is in and out in two minutes. Not a record for him, but still pretty good. He knew washing his hands would have taken too long. He takes his seat and pulls out his laptop and scans a list of local corporations that did runs to and from Absalon, spits an appropriate velcro flight patch out of his cheek pocket, and affixes it to his flight suit. He liked to fit in.
No problem here. Max is like my dad, he doesn't get dizzy when he drives, he just gets dizzy when others drive!!
Max was excited to return to Absalom.

Max Tweek is fixed, thanks hustonj. I wonder if the electrical and water lines running from his coffee maker/booster seat can be easily hooked up to any ship?? I guess we will find out. Woe be it to the mechanic that can't make that work.
Max is 90% complete. His equipment is not fully complete, but I grabbed some things he would need and have not made sure he spends his 1000. If you want to go with another pilot, I can make up an envoy.
Max Tweek (Tweek and Tweak were already taken -- lots of Southpark fans) will be ready to go shortly. I also owe Skulls and Shackles an oracle, but I gotta start this first as it is my first Starfinder character. Some day we will have Ysogi avatars. |
