Martius rushes forward to rescue his two friends, "Come on! Be alive! Be alive!"

Once everyone is free and the stomach acid is scraped off, Martius heals the party. "Come now, let us see if we can undo this insanity.... permanently."

Upon uncovering the ritual, Martius is hopeful but baffled, "YES! I have NO idea how to do it, but I think we've done it. I think we really can end this."

"Hear me worm and DESPAIR!" Martius moves away from Milo, then gives a blood curdling scream that bends and twists the air. Wail of the Banshee DC 36.

But the sheer awesomeness of his being is enough to resist the spell! Bolstered by his victory, he lays into the creature.

Martius grunts as the missiles strike, he rushes into the room and sees plenty of space for a large spell. He beseeches Sheyln to unleash a burst of her power: Sunbeam Looks like I can fit it without hurting Shard. Fire: 8d10 ⇒ (10, 8, 3, 2, 6, 9, 7, 6) = 51. If it counts as undead and additional Positive: 8d10 ⇒ (8, 9, 1, 3, 7, 8, 3, 2) = 41. REF DC is 36

"Suddenly a whole lot of history just came into focus."

"Aye. I can feel it. The ending that is. Not the climax. That's.... anyway, let's get on with it." Martius will form a quick ward and do his medic duties.

FORT 2: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (9) + 30 = 39

Martius takes a moment to heal himself: HP: 9d6 + 64 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 3, 3, 1, 3, 3, 2) + 64 = 90. Net result is 37 damage.

He then steps forward and attacks with his holy glaive

Martius keeps up the pressure! He tries to spread the divine pressure, targeting the creature in the back with a righteous battle prayer:

finally he steps into a more dangerous spot, trusting himself to survive juuuust long enough....

Martius recites a Battle Prayer at the thing right in front of him: Religion: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (12) + 32 = 44 WILL with Varied results (Legendary in Religion)

He then spins as he fights, establishing a Heroic Presence! "Miloban! Get your ass back here!"

Finally, he uses his glaive, trying to slice open a terrific wound

Before he does, Martius unfurls the red, flame, scarf from his glaive.

After an hour in the Martius Ward, everyone regains 230 HP.

"I thought it was macabre that time you cracked jokes after the time we cleared that undead whore house.... You've out done yourself this time."

"Sheyln's Eyes! What a horror! Such evil. We've never experienced anything like this." Martius tends to everyone's wounds.

Weapon of Judgement v. Claws: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (16) + 26 = 42

Shelyn's judgment continues to not be very judgmental...

Continually frustrated at his inefficacy, Martius tries to catch the regent in a wall of whirling blades Sigh, DC is 36 also.

Will: 1d20 + 31 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 31 + 1 = 47 Counts as a CRIT

Weapon of Judgement: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (11) + 26 = 37 MISS

Martius then moves again before lowering a finger at the regent and letting a ray of searing light streak out from his hand : ATK: 1d20 + 26 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 26 + 1 = 44 but misses.

Don't forget the +2 on saves v. mental effects and your 12 HP! Also, weapon of Judgement attacks EVERY time there's a hostile action (so one action only warrants one attack, but it isn't limited in the number of times it goes off per round.

As Amour draws the regent's quick reflexes, Martius offers a monosyllabic prayer, sacrificing himself to protect Amour: Using my reaction on that CRIT AoO on Amour. Reduces the damage to 85 and Martius takes all of it, Amour takes none. 12 Temp HP comes off the top.

Martius then continues his prayer into one of BATTLE! Religion v. Regent's Will DC: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (8) + 32 = 40 if that beats his Will DC target takes GOOD damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6) = 15

Then Martius heals the wounds he took from Amour Battle Medicine: 1d20 + 30 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 30 + 1 = 50 to cure HP: 4d8 + 50 ⇒ (2, 8, 1, 7) + 50 = 68

Finally he moves to get Amour and Shard in his Bless aura.

The Weapon of Judgment should have proced on that initial and on the hit v. Amour:
Initial Salvo: 1d20 + 26 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 26 + 1 = 28 MISS
Hit v. Amour: 1d20 + 26 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 26 + 1 = 44 for Force DMG if hit: 3d10 + 5 ⇒ (1, 10, 3) + 5 = 19

Hoping against hop, Martius pulls out his greatest trick, a Miraculous Possibility[/ooc]

He utters a [url=https://2e.aonprd.com/Spells.aspx?ID=82]litany against the regent, channeling as much of Sheyln's power as his mortal body allows: Evil within 40' takes Good DMG: 7d10 ⇒ (3, 4, 8, 1, 6, 9, 4) = 35 with additional effects based on the DC 32 FORT save.

Hero Point: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (12) + 31 = 43 Success = Crit Success

Wholly unaffected, Martius maintains his Heroic Presence. Everyone gains 12 Temp HP and a +2 status on saves v. mental effects.

He then summons Shelyn's Wrath. Scintillating colors of holy power burst as a nova from the horrid regent:

Good Damage: 4d10 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 4) = 14 Seriously? what a freaking let down. Either Way, FORT DC 32 with additional debuffs for fail and crit fail.

Oops, yes, I'm fleeing too. Three actions.

Will: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (2) + 31 = 33 Well shit.

Crippled by fear, Martius tries to establish his [url=https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=1443]Heroic Presence.[/ooc] Everyone gains 12 Temp HP and a +2 status on saves v. mental effects.

I have 2 actions left, and they are dependent on whether or not this effect that lasts a year is a Curse.

"No harm befalls you unless you take action against us. As my colleague said, assurance."

Sheyln, bring forth your Weapon of Judgment and see Peace. Protect your allies against this evil."

Martius then moves in after identifying each of the party members. A massive glaive of force appears over the sinister evil.

"Should we not also address the ....worm in the room? Why? What is your endgame?"

"Well then," Martius says with a double helping of braggadocio, "I fully believe in my powers and I believe powers of my teammates."

He then stands aside for Amour, whom he trusts implicitly, harboring no doubt.

ID? "You.... any of you happen to speak Taldane?"

Martius tends to his wounds with legendary aplomb! Medicine: 1d20 + 30 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 30 + 1 = 42 66 HP back

What's Martius's take on why he's unconscious?

Martius tries to get a feel for his current situation. If his wounds are from being damaged, he can heal from afar, Medicine: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (6) + 30 = 36

"Shard, should I heal him?"

"Well that's terrifying." Martius moves over to the door.

"Sheyln's nightie! This plan is as terrifying as what happened in Last Wall a few years back! "

Are ANY of the dates in the future?

"Have at thee!" Sad to destroy a woman of beauty, Martius knows it must be done. He unfurls the green banner from his glaive and closes on the woman with a large sweeping slash opposite Shard:

ATK: 1d20 + 27 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 27 + 1 = 47 for DMG: 3d8 + 7 ⇒ (6, 1, 7) + 7 = 21 and Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 6. If that's a crit add Acid: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4) = 9

"Indeed. Your torment is over. Our only regret was not knowing of it sooner."

Martius tries to unravel what might possibly grant them rest and a trip to Pharasma's embrace. Religion: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (18) + 32 = 50

Martius considers the words and the rune. Recall Knowledge?

"Those are some sexy weapons, and that armor reminds me of that Savored Sting Amour got mixed up with in Korvosa... hehe..."

It's a simple matter to handle the wounds, and Martius passes on using any of the new treasure. "Come. We've got a blind date with destiny... and it looks like she's ordered the lobster.

FORT: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (4) + 30 = 34 uh oh

Martius casts a quick spell to heal some of his wounds: 1 Action: 9d10 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 8, 6, 7, 7, 9, 8) = 57

He then strikes with his glaive! ATK: 1d20 + 27 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 27 + 1 = 30, but misses.

He follows up with another wide slash ATK: 1d20 + 22 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 22 + 1 = 27, and is even more off target.

Healed to full means no more bleed, yes?

Don't forget if you are within 15' of Martius you are always under the effect of a Bless spell.

Martius steps into the kerfuffle after unfurling the green scarf:

ATK: 1d20 + 27 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 27 + 1 = 43 for DMG: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2, 7) + 6 = 21 and GOOD: 1d6 ⇒ 3 and Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 4 [ooc]If that's somehow a crit add Acid: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2) = 11

In that time, Martius spends a lot of time in prayer, which is to say drawing in charcoal, trying to capture both the horror of the Conqueror Worm,

and the beauty to be found. In the fight he saw people jumping in front of others. He saw the art on the walls, comforting good and evil alike. He saw the extremes of those gifted with free will. It was awesome and terrible and altogether mortal.

At the door, Martius prepares for a final showdown.

Martius looks around, "Yeah, Shard.... I don't think I've got a story to match this one. I think we're writing new ones at this point. Shelyn's sorrow.... what horror."

Martius joins his friend, his voice trailing off at the end as he repeats the refrain, "what horror..."

Recovery Check: 1d20 ⇒ 17 Perhaps Sheyln isn't done with me yet....

Martius gives Amour a look of utter sadness. As the confused investigator literally stabs him in the heart, he falls back. "I'm sor.."

Will: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (17) + 30 = 47 Seriously? Huh, the status is way different in 2e, and decidedly worse. It also says the GM determines the target.

FORT: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (2) + 29 = 31 CRIT Fail

Martius's body simply stops responding. He makes peace with his goddess.

There is no longer a Divine Aura as I'm no longer sustaining it.

"Sheyln! What a horror? How can we possibly win?!" Martius gives his deepest prayer to Sheyln, hoping for a miracle: 3 Action Heal: 9d10 ⇒ (8, 7, 7, 4, 4, 10, 9, 6, 3) = 58 DC 31. I've got ONE of these left.

FORT: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (4) + 29 = 33

Martius nearly falls from the pain. He maintains his two spells Divine Aura 40'

The divine copy of the cleric attacks: ATK: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (15) + 25 = 40 for DMG if hit: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 4 = 8

He quickly tends to his own wounds: Assurance: HP Regained: 2d8 + 30 ⇒ (6, 1) + 30 = 37

Martius sustains his spell, pushing his aura* ever further. He adds a new spell to the mix as a translucent guardian of Force, wielding a glaive attacks the Grey Death!
ATK: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 25 = 37 for DMG if hit: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (4, 4) + 5 = 13

*Aura against Evil is now 30'. Amour is in it!
