Male Samsaran Winter Witch 1
Table with Kyliki:
"I see no reason to say no. Besides, I am sure Opal would very much enjoy the trek," says Martin; his shy gaze dropping to the table as be bites the corner of his lip in nervousness. Almost forgot, there is still the NPC there... NPC Temple Lady: Looking back up briefly at the other lady, Martin says, "How is the cider? Umm... I do apologize, but I am not certain how long my friends and I shall be staying. You may eat and stay here for the night at my expense. It is a frigid night and would hate for anyone to travel out late in this weather."

Table with Kyliki: Martin shaking a bit of a daze from his face, and feeling like he got caught staring at his new companion, Kyliki, says, "I have not really thought about where I travel. I just wander from place to place. I have lived in this region for much of my life. I am quite accustomed to the snow, and traveling further north would not be something I would be against." His voice quiets down and trails off a bit as if hinting to be asked a certain question.

Hmm... Just realized that I am a Samsaran without knowledge religion ranks... Oh well, lol. Awkwardly holding the two mugs of hot cider and bowl of vegetables, Martin stammers a bit as he tries to find the proper words for an occassion such as this. "Umm... I am quite... comfortable. Though if you..umm.. would perchance be cold, I can... I... could I hot cider you a buy? Err..." says a very flustered Martin. Swallowing hard in a failed attempt to regain some conrol of his voice, he quickly says almost in a shout, "I mean... can I buy you a hot cider!?" He offers, almost shoving, one of the two mugs to the lady. He begins to slowly make his way back to the table with Kyliki to give her the second mug.

@Kyliki, you are absolutely right. Sorry I tend to forget details, but I did intend to leave him there with you (sort of picking on my own familiar). After approaching the bar, Martin stands back a little as if waiting patiently in line to be served. Once the bartender notices him, Martin steps forward. "Good evening, fair hostess. If... if it would not be of any trouble, could I ask for a couple of warm drinks... and perhaps some winter vegetables... for my friend?" shyly asks Martin as he retrieves a few silvers and a gold piece just in case.

I think you are right, lol. But fits well with the region and campaign. "Well met, Kyliki! Oh, I almost forgot. It is customary to purchase something when in a tavern. I see that you have a meal, would you care for another drink. I plan on buying something warm myself," said Martin before standing up to make his way to the bartender.

Without turning to the Ulfen, Martin says audibly under his breath in perfect Skald due to his upbringing, "Sögur eru eins og líf, hvert upphaf enda og sérhver endir er nýtt upphaf." Skald:
"Stories are like lives; every beginning an end and every end a new beginning." His words coming more as if repeating something he once heard, and not by his own volition.

Opal happily goes with the woman and snuggles up to her - at first. The scent of rabbit stew and her fox-like nature throw him into a fit as he squirms and tries to get away. "Opal, what has gotten into you? Stop acting soo scared. I told you that we are inside and there is nothing in here that is going to eat you. My apologies, Miss, he is normally not like this. I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name? You have already met Opal here and myself," says Martin; carefully aware that he never introduced himself as he is very shy and avoids talking about himself.

Noticing Kyliki eagerly leaning over, Martin happily revealed his small mystery. "Opal, you don't have to hide anymore. We are inside," said Martin to the small, furry ball. The ball slowly, and carefully unfurled; peeking around to make sure there were no predators. Golden patches on the arctic hare's face, ears, and underbelly betrayed his otherwise perfectly white fur. "There now, you see, we are all safe," Martin said to his small friend before turning to the young woman. "This is my traveling companion, Opal. I found him by chance, and it is a wonder he had not been snatched before. Would you like to hold him? He is quite friendly." Martin held Opal out towards Kyliki, his bluish-gray hands hinting of his nature.

Sorry, about being late, just realized this was here. Good thing the rabbits already went into the back. :D Approaching the door, Martin takes his boots off stepping barefoot in the snow. Awkwardly holding a small, white bundle of fur in one hand, he tries to clean his boots with the other. Once satisfied that most of the snow is gone, he replaces his boots and walks inside. He keeps his hood pulled up as he enters, revealing just a small portion of his face so as not to be suspicious. After seeing the fireplace, he heads directly over and holds the small ball of fur near while rubbing some warmth back into the poor little creature. He tries his best to go unnoticed, while trying not to appear as a shady individual as well.
This is Donald. Finally got my character built. Backstory:
Upon his return, his family grew distrusting of him. Though his heart was too "warm" to become a winter witch, his nature has been tainted by the icy winds and the frozen heart of his master. After struggling to fit back into his old home, Martin took his leave; alone. Over the years, Martin found that he had a gift, the ability to heal people of minor wounds. With just a touch, part-frost and part-divine power, he could stabilize almost any wound. Using this gift and the minor magical training he received as an winter witch's apprentice, Martin began traveling around Taldor as a wander apothecary and healer. Any time that he was away frojm civilization on his travels, we continued to practice the magic he learned as a winter witch. After yeras of wandering without a real purpose, Martin happened upon a traveler left for dead in the snow. The traveler was a trader that attacked a winter witch after mistakening it as the person that attacked his village. Martin did his best to not speak of witches around the traveler, because of the trader's sever distrust of them. After healing the trader and accompanying him to the neaerest village, Martin decided what he must do. He decided that we would find a way to change the mindset of others about the winter witches while also finding a way to prove to the Irrisen council that one does not need a frozen heart to be a powerful winter witch. He knew he that it wouldn't be easy, but he would find a way to change the leadership of the Irrisens and show that they can work with other people without distrust and hate. |
